Top Drugstore Moisturizers: Weleda ✨
Okay!!! This moisturizer is a game changer. For anyone that has used the Weleda Skin Food but may have thought it was too heavy, thick, or greasy...this product is 10/10. This is a lighter formula of the classic Skin Food and I prefer this one way more. I buy this at Target and I believe it is only $18. I use this at night or on no makeup days on my face and neck. It sinks in pretty quickly but leaves your skin glowing all day while still magically controlling oil. It has plant extracts, chamomile, and calendula to calm redness and heal up dry spots. 🌱 I also use this on my body if I have any sunburns or dryness. It has quite a thick consistency when it comes out of the bottle but thins out when you apply it. Skin Food Light works perfectly on my combination skin so I could see it working well for you if you have normal, dry or oily skin. If you have tried this let me know what you thought of it!!! 🌷✨🤍 WELEDA - Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream

This Moisturizer made my skin DRY!
Sometimes we have our hopes up high for a product or brand and get completely let down. I had discovered Weleda when researching some dermatologist favorites and came across their moisturizers at Target soon after. Because of my normal to oily skin, I chose the Light Nourishing Cream as a nighttime moisturizer. I started using this and enjoyed the strong but pleasant scent and the way it sinks into my skin, but realized quickly my skin did not enjoy it like I thought it would. WELEDA - Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream ☆I got some red irritation on my forehead and noticed I would wake up with skin that felt tight and not plump and hydrated like I am used to. I then decided to take a deep dive into the ingredients... Look, as an esthetician I usually don't purchase products before checking out the ingredients but I let this one slip through the cracks! After a brief look, I quickly saw the culprit of my dry skin: Alcohol 😱 There are fatty alcohols that add alot of good things to a skincare product. This includes a better formulation, extra skin soothing benefits, etc. However there are also bad alcohols that we should avoid all together! Such as isopropyl alcohol, straight alcohol, or denatured alcohol. This moisturizer includes pure alcohol as its 4th ingredient! When using a skincare product with alcohol, it can immediately give a refreshing look to the skin as alcohol strips all the oiliness away. This may trick you into loving it, but over time can cause sensitivity and irritation. There are plant extracts and hydrating ingredients listed after alcohol, but unfortunately I did not notice any benefits from them. I would definitely avoid this product especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. I really would recommend skipping it all together, but if this has worked for you so far then I am glad to hear it! Definitely try avoiding alcohol in your skincare products as much as possible. Unfortunately, their ultra rich cream contains pure alcohol as well so I won't be trying that one either. I am using up this moisturizer by applying to my hands and it has been soothing them nicely. ☆ Have you tried this? What products have not worked for you in the past?
MOISTURISERS I know a lot of people notice a change in their skin as the cold weather takes hold. And just as we would wear a heavier jacket you may want to look at a more moisturising moisturiser.... 😉 This line up is some of my ALL time favourites from budget to higher end... they all work amazingly ✨ weledauk Skinfood - Nourishing cream packed with plant extracts and essential oils. The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors full of amino acids, fatty acids, hyaluronic acid and ceramides that are naturally present in skin. clinique Moisture Surge is a lightweight cream-gel moisturiser which helps to plump skin and intensely hydrate for over 24 hours. cerave Facial Moisturising Lotion contains niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and ceramides to nourish and replenish dry skin. origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is a rich creamy mask which helps quench parched skin overnight. drjart Ceramidin Cream as the name suggests this is full of ceramides to strengthen and protect the skin barrier.
KISS DRY SKIN GOODBYE!
This is an intense hydration skin protectant formulated with soothing ingredients such as Colloidal Oatmeal, Allantoin, Ceramide 3 and the FAB Antioxidant Booster, which provides immediate relief and visible improvement for parched skin and it is clinically proven to increase hydration. Swipe & see that soft, rich and whipped texture of this cream, I love it! It just melts on the skin without any greasiness. I tried it first on my body wherein I have some dry patches and itchiness; guess what? I was surprised how it soothes my skin from first use. Since this claims to be safe to use on face, I tried it as a moisturizer and it works. It is very calming and hydrating on the skin. However, since I do have oily/combo skin it tends to be oily at the mid-day so I guess I will use this on days when my skin have any irritation or dryness. This is definitely a head-to-toe moisturizer that can be used by the whole family (safe even for babies) since it has no paraben, harsh chemical, colorants, and artificial fragrance. It has eucalyptus oil which gives a natural relaxing scent. I highly recommend this if you need instant relief and long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin, or even on eczema. This is my first FAB product and I am hooked.
FIRST AID BEAUTY-Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
This moisturizer feels so light on your skin, almost like whip cream. It is very hydrating without being too heavy or leaving the face too sticky. The packaging is also eco-friendly! Simple is a vegan and cruelty-free brand, and does not use harsh chemicals like parabens, fragrance, and colors! Great for sensitive skin 🤍 I have very dry skin which flakes in the winter, although it is warming up, my nose has been peeling and this moisturizer has put a stop to that! Although not all the ingredients are natural and organic, I feel like it is a great start in the right direction, and hopefully Simple continues on the right path to 100% clean skincare 💚

First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream
I’ve been using the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream for about a year now and wow it is absolutely amazing!! So first off this product claims to be a fast-absorbing rich moisturizing providing instant and long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin, & eczema. I started to use this product last winter after hearing several people rave about how soothing this is to the skin. I figured this was perfect for me since it targets dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, & redness which is RIGHT up my alley. At first touch, I was shocked at how thin and whipped this texture was. It made the application process super easy and I felt like the product actually sunk into my skin rather than sit on the top like my other heavy duty dry skin moisturizers often feel like. I like the thinness bc it also layers well over a multi-step skincare routine which I tend to implement. The best part about this moisturizer, and what I love the most is that I can use it in both the summer & winter time!! It’s that good!! I think for the price point ($32) you get a TON of product (6oz). Like I said - I’ve had this tub for a year and I don’t think I’ve even put a dent in it. I definitely recommend checking out this repair cream out if you struggle with dry skin and find that all the other creams on the market are too heavy! I don’t think you will be disappointed! (Also I do not suffer from eczema so I cannot offer my opinion if this product works for that particular skin concern or lives up to it’s claim)

First Aid Beauty Coconut Priming Moisturizer
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Limited Edition Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer This primer claims to be a mix of skincare and makeup by combining your primer and moisturizer steps into one! It’s supposed to target fine lines and wrinkles, pores, and dryness. On the website it is recommended for normal and dry skin types. Highlighted ingredients: coconut water (for hydration), quinoa protein (to protect and support the skin barrier), and a mineral blend (support skin health.) The consistency is a little thicker than most daytime moisturizers I have used so when I apply it I usually give it a few minutes to really sink in before starting my makeup. It does have an apparent coconut/beach smell which I could do without but it does fade as the product sinks into your skin. I really love this primer because it really does help me skin a step in my routine. Before, I was using moisturizer and then primer which got pretty repetitive and buying both just seemed like a waste of money. The website recommends this for dry/normal skin but I have oily skin and it works great for me! It moisturizes and gives my skin a nice dewy sheen that glows through most foundations. I’d recommend this for anyone who was like me and super tired of applying a moisturizer plus a primer!

Another HG product for dry skin!
This is the ultra repair cream from first aid beauty, which is another cult classic skincare and bodycare product that I really like! It includes colloidal oatmeal to soothe dry and parched skin, and I really do think it lives up to the claim! It’s scentless, which is really important when I use it on the dry patches on my face, and it is very light and sinks in very quickly! I love to use this product after my night showers, since I wake up with my skin feeling super moisturized! The texture is also a complete delight – it’s light and airy and so whipped!
FIRST AID BEAUTY-Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
✨What is it? A refreshing gel cream to give your skin the power to rehydrate itself. Delivers an instant moisture boost. Keeps skin almost twice as hydrated at the end of the day than it did before. It locks in all the moisture for an endlessly plump, dewy, healthy - looking glow. - ✨Key Ingredients Hyaluronic Acid, Activated Aloe Water, Caffeine - ✨My thoughts I have super dry skin and back in November I had just finished my other moisturizer and someone recommended me to get Clinique moisture surge. I really liked the texture, its super light weight, gel like and glides smoothly on my skin. It was great for keeping certain parts of my skin hydrated and dewy like my forehead and others. But my cheeks are very dry and I always felt like this wasn’t enough. After a few hours my dry patches would start to show and if I was wearing makeup it won’t look very nice. I would say this is for someone with normal to combination skin, like my sister she loved it, but for someone who’s dry this isn’t rich enoughCLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator
