Budget skincare for acne/sensitive skin ‼️
Budget skincare for acne/sensitive skin ‼️
WE’RE NOT PLAYING AROUND! You have acne. You want to help it. But your on a budget...I FEEL you. Before we begin, I just want to say: acne cannot be healed overnight. There is no safe, effective way to get rid of acne in a short period of time. Most acne treatments and preventative treatments take a long time to work. Keep that in mind! These are my favorite budget products (UNDER $10) to treat and prevent acne on sensitive skin. The Ordinary is a budget-friendly brand that spends little to no money on marketing or fancy branding. I love how affordable and accessible they are to consumers—they’re available at both Sephora and Ulta. Here are my thoughts on each product: Products: The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane Discovery: Lactic: I discovered this while researching which AHAs are best for anti-aging and acne treatment. My initial thought was to go for a budget-friendly brand like The Ordinary. Retinoid: I had been interested in trying a Retinoid or retinol for a while but wanted to start slow, so I went with this formula which is formulated specifically for sensitive skin. How long have they been in my routine? Lactic: 3 weeks Retinoid: 7 months When do I use these in my routine? Lactic: PM routine after cleansing + toning, before moisturizing Retinoid: PM routine usually mixed into my moisturizer or another facial oil WHY do these work for sensitive skin? Lactic: the lactic acid in this formula is only at 5% meaning it’s a great starter formula for beginners OR it’s a gentler formula for people who have used acids before. It also includes hyaluronic acid which is a hydrating ingredient to help this not dry out your skin as much. Retinoid: this specific formula is only 2% and it is a Granactive Retinoid which is formulated specifically for sensitive skin, to not make your skin peel or deal any real damage. It did take 3 months for me to see a real difference in my skin texture but I couldn’t live without this in my routine now! It’s also suspended in squalane which is a super moisturizing facial oil—thus helping not to dry out the skin too much. See a pattern here? Price: Lactic: $6.50 Retinoid: $9.60 Rating: Lactic: 5/5 Retinoid: 5/5
