MY DAILY ROUTINE! ok I've tried a million products and this
MY DAILY ROUTINE! ok I've tried a million products and this is what is in my current line up. I have dry skin so the layering of serums and oils is key for me! The coveted “but what order do I do them in?”: This is what I do and what works for me! -Cleanse -tone -serum -moisturizer -eye cream -face oils -makeup primer -makeup Making sure my face is properly primed with skincare is so essential in making my makeup look as good as possible. Having extremely dry skin I always look for a serum that has a high percentage of hyaluronic acid for added intense moisture. I'm really loving the Luzern oxygen creme right now because the creme is hydrating without leaving a heavy film or residue on the skin and the oxygen aspect really helps calm my sensitive skin. A full face in just 10 minutes!
Happy Friday, cherie fam! I don’t know about you, but my friday makeup tends to be especially quick and easy. Anyone who has a zoom call with me on fridays can deal with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I wanted to share the makeup I put on this morning in just under ten minutes! The finished look is casual, put together, and glowy, and my real skin is still visible under the light makeup. Basic info about my skin: I’m oily and acne prone, and my main concerns right now are dark circles and hyperpigmentation from acne. I also have sparse brows and I like to fill them in—if I do nothing else, I’ll do my brows because I feel naked without them 😂 Here’s a step by step, including all the products I used: First, I apply a few drops of the Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation all over my face, blending it into my hairline and neckline. I’ve reviewed this before, so I won’t go into detail here, but I love it! I just spread it and pat it in with my fingers—no beauty blender/brush needed. Next, I use the Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. Scroll back a few posts for my thoughts on this concealer and why it’s worth repurchasing! Third, I apply the cream blush from the Kosas - Color & Light: Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo on the apples of my cheeks. I usually use a brush, but I can use my fingers in a pinch. I have the color Helios and it’s such a beautiful deep orange shade. The formula itself is very creamy and nourishing—it really feels like skincare AND makeup. I set everything with a light dusting of the Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder . I love this powder, and it’s lasting me FOREVER even with daily use, but I desperately want them to improve the packaging 😩 The mesh makes it difficult to get the product out at times. I do my brows with a few quick swipes of the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel , my holy grail brow gel. This is the only product on my brows and LOOK how it fills them in! I do a quick coat of the bareMinerals - Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara to add length and volume to my lashes. This mascara last alllll day without flaking at all on me. Last, I swipe on some nooni - Appleberry Lip Oil , and I’m done! I LOVE this tinted oil—it feels very hydrating without being sticky, and it’s an incredible bargain compared to other tinted lip oils out there (I got it for $12 on amazon). It has a pink tint and a subtle berry flavor. And that’s it! All of these products are so simple to use, making them perfect for a quick and easy makeup look. #CheriePartner
Finally back home! I took a bunch of photos on my camera while I was away but I didn’t have any way to transfer them so now I have a bunch of content lined up ✨my skin isn’t feeling great after all this travel so tonight’s plans are to give it a little TLC and catch up on my guilty pleasure reality shows lol -Dax
Dr Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum
DR. BARBARA STURM - DR. BARBARA STURM Hyaluronic Serum This is my Holy Grail product. I dread a day ever having to go without this serum. When I apply this, I can feel the hydration as it works it’s way from the top layers of my skin with the light weighted HA molecules to the deeper layers with the heavily weighted HA molecules. It absorbs so quickly that, if you blink, you’ve missed it. Yet, the hydration and baby-soft feel to your skin will be all the evidence you need to prove that you really have used the perfect hydrating serum.
▪️Kristin Ess Scalp Line—Micellar Shampoo & Daily Scalp + Hair Mask. I’m excited to try a line of more affordable scalp care products. So far I find her stuff just as good as luxury lines ▪️MDNA The Finishing Cream A thick but surprisingly light cream with squalane, olive & orange oil, crushed pearls and MDNA exclusive Holy Water (thermal water from Montecatini, Italy). It’s has a nice pearl like tint to it for radiance. I only tried it once so more to come ▪️Zoeva Rose Golden brushes I only pictured one but I’m testing several. They are exactly what I figured—Amazing ▪️Cle de Peau Radiant Cushion foundation O30. I’m so addicted to cushions right now. This one is the perfect shade for me. I love the Radiant Fluid & Stick foundations so I have good hopes for this one ▪️Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic HA & Peptide Serum. Such a great texture. I’ve only just begun with it so more to come

Let’s chat concealer
So as of late - and the two times a month I put on makeup, I’ve been sampling this MAYBELLINE - Super Stay Full Coverage Under-Eye Concealer . I was excited to try it out because these dark circles can’t be kicked with the current eye cream. So for 10 dollars I’d say - not a fan. It leaves my skin very dehydrated and as you can see - after an hour of wear it cakes on and shows the creases. It certainly isn’t hydrating. Note I have no other foundation on because I’ll be wearing a mask so I just wanted to target my eyes. It’s expensive and the fact that there’s only 0.23 ounces in there seems like a rip off. I’d say - not a fan. I think it does a decent job covering my dark spots but when you get close to me - you see how damaging it makes my eye wrinkles look. What’s your thoughts?
Drug store makeup dupes 🚨

My go to for the last 3 months
Okay so I can’t really say 3mos as this is only my week 2 of this routine!!!! MORNING‼️ I wash with Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser so far it’s been okay, I guess u get what u pay for but with that being said my skin is soooooooo sensitive that literally before finding Cherie would mostly just wash my face with a rag and 💦 ❤️I then go back in with GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water okay so I love this stuff, it don’t make my face feel nasty, I literally use a cotton pad and just wipe away what my first cleanser didn’t get!!!! ❤️I also take my Apostrophe - Spironolactone I’m supposed to take this daily but due to health issues I only take this every other day just to maintain my potassium levels, I’ve only been on this for 2wks and I have noticed a BIG CHANGE in my skin🙌🏽 ❤️I then top it off with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion it definitely drenches your face with moisture BUT it makes me oily🚱 NIGHTIME ROUTINE‼️ ❤️I follow all the same steps above but I add in my Apostrophe - Topical Formula So far I’m in love with this, I’m already seeing changes in my skin and some of my scarring, I would definitely recommend this product/company🗣🗣🗣If u can’t afford to see a dermatologist or your insurance doesn’t cover it, this process is pretty cool, u literally do everything over the computer💻 or your phone📲your dermatologist will make up a regimen and it’s sent to u via mail🙌🏽With COVID in our lives this was a game changer❤️ Of course after my topical I once again moisturize my skin with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Check out my skin journey in only 2 weeks!
Back story: Back at the beginning of November I had been on curology for the second time and it made my face feel worse, the face wash didn’t make my face feel clean so I bought one they recommended (Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser ) I continued to use the formula they gave me and it was just not for me. November 26 I spoke to my doctor and told her what I was going through and she put me on Doxycycline which helped with stopping the bacteria from producing but I still had the blemishes I had. I was desperate by this time, I didn’t know what to believe from youtubers(most are paid or sponsored= no trust from me) nor anything posted online and I was not about to try a million product because I know it takes time. That is when I came across this site and I started reading some real life stories and what people like me were going through! I saw some products that these people were using and I decided to give it a shot! Thank you to the ladies who posted their story! Your transparency and selflessness has help me with my confidence and most importantly my skin! Xoxo Story time! As you can see on December 20th my skin was nothing but clogged and congested. My self esteem was at an all time low. I would purposely avoid hanging out with my friends, I hated how make up would look covering the acne, I was honestly just not in a good place. I started reading stories from people like me and they were using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin and CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin so I decided to give it a shot! On December 26 I decided to go to Walgreens and pick it up. Christmas was the day before and I was tired of how I was feeling (I was shying away from the camera with my own family and thats just not me, I wanted to go back to feeling like my best self) I followed my skin regimen religiously! After my shower I would brush my teeth and then wash my face and apply some lotion. At night I would do the same thing! Fun fact: I like to change my pillow cases every two days-week. First thing I noticed after the face wash is how clean my face felt but it didn’t feel dried out or congested it actually felt like soft skin. Jan 3: A week after I started using the face wash and lotion I started to notice the congested parts of my face were coming out. Jan 6: Like they say it has to get worse before it gets better. I thought I was reacting badly to the products but I read a little more and purging is real! Jan 7: My skin started calming down a bit with the redness but what had to come out came out! If you are going through this process dont get discouraged keep your skin care routine consistent! Jan 10: still have some blemishes but you can see the softness glow! I posted the pictures I posted with the dates so you guys can see the process. We are sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly not just the pretty!

Curly hair Dreams ✨
I have been recently using these two from Kristin Ess, It always caught my attention when I passed by the hair products at Target so I decided to give it a go on these two styling products! KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream This I usually use to untangle my hair before I style it. It’s a spray that helps to loosen your curls so they can look more hydrated and natural. When the product said cream I expected a literal cream. But this is more of a milky texture. I love the smell, it’s very floral and not too strong!! KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Curl Defining Jelly What I love most about this product is that it hold my curls but it doesn’t make it extremely hard to move. It styles beautifully! It’s a clear gel and it really does what it says! My hair always looks so bouncy and healthy! - These two are amazing! They also have another cream which I’m really excited to try! I feel like for the quality you’re getting, these are pretty affordable! They have for every hair type as well! And the packaging are so cute!
Overnight Waves Tutorial
I am allllll about overnight hair styles. Gone are the days where I regularly use heat tools to style my hair. Every once in a while I’ll do it, but for everyday I can’t be bothered! Heatless styles are also great for reducing heat damage and breakage. This is a tutorial for my preferred overnight waves using two twists. This style works best for wavy and straight hair types. About my hair: thick, naturally wavy/curly, frizzy, dry What you’ll need: -comb -small elastic bands -leave-in spray -styling cream/gel/mousse -finishing spray/hairspray Steps: 1. Start with damp hair. 2. Apply leave-in conditioner and disperse through your hair with a comb or fingers. 3. Apply your preferred styling product(s). This will help your hair hold the style’s shape. 4. Either air dry your hair or wrap in a towel for about 15-30 min (less if your hair is fine, more if your hair is thick. I do about 30 min) 5. Take hair out of towel (if using) and comb it. 6. Part hair in desired area in front and part about equally down the back. 7. Work with one side at a time. Take a small section of hair at the front of your head, and another section from the back of your head. 8. Twist the pieces together like a rope braid. I start just above my ears. 9. Add in a section of hair from the front and from the back to continue the twist. 10. Continue adding hair and twisting down. Secure with an elastic. 11. Repeat on other side. 12. Go to bed! Let this style sit for 8-10 hours. The longer the better, especially if you have thick hair. 13. In the AM, remove your twists and gently shake your hair near the roots to loosen waves. 14. Spray hair with your preferred finishing spray/hairspray. Products I used: KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream KRISTIN ESS - Hair Hydrating Curl Defining Crème R+Co - FOIL Frizz + Static Control Spray Notes: You can twist your twists around each other into buns or clip them on top of your head if the twists will bother you when you’re sleeping! You can modify this style by starting father or lower on your head, or doing two 3-strand braids. #CheriePartner
Too shiny for combination/oily skin
CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Sheertint Hydrator Broad Spectrum SPF 25 I really tried liking this product, but...it is nearly finished and I haven’t changed my mind about it. This product gives very light coverage, just like any CC cream. But so far it is the only feature I’ve was happy about. The product claims to hydrate you skin, although it didn’t really work that way for my combination skin. If you really like the wet/oily look of your skin and you have very very dry skin - then this product probably would be great for you. As for my combination skin, it would make my skin look too shiny and oily and even with the help of powder my nose would get oily again after 20-30 mins. Especially wouldn’t recommend using it during hot seasons

Glowy and Rosy 🥀
My first (and maybe only?) post!! This quarantine has sent me spiraling into a deep makeup/skincare phase, which is something I haven’t really had time for before. In the past, it’s been either no makeup or just the basics and my skincare “routine”was absolute garbage and basically nonexistent (pretty much JUST apricot scrub). 🤢🤮 Recently, I’ve been playing around with some new looks and I really liked this one. Not perfect but it’s definitely a start right? One thing I’ve learned is that good makeup starts with skincare, so I started with Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser and generic witch hazel as a toner. Then, CRÈME DE skin NUTRITIONS - Hyaluronic Acid 1% & Vitamin C Serumfrom the DOLLAR TREE. I’m no expert, but this product works pretty well for me and, for $1, I won’t complain. For my under eye bags, I use CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream and then to moisturize I use Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer which I think is awesome. I tend to get little pimples in the little creases beside my nose, so I use this Salicylic acid spot treatment from Almay that I got on the cheap at Big Lots. I do think it works well (side note: don’t worry, I didn’t let it mix with my hyaluronic acid!) and normally it isn’t an issue because I don’t wear foundation/concealer regularly, but I found that it did NOT play nicely with my foundation and created weird paste that was hard to remove so 👁 beware 👁 I used e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer followed by COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation . I think the product smells great and matches my skin almost suspiciously well, but it’s definitely very sheer coverage. My bronzer is PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Light (which also smells amazing) and my blush is MILANI - Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose. Oops I forgot highlighter but if I hadn’t I’d be wearing one from E.L.F. that my mom got me for Christmas that I don’t think they make anymore. No comment on that one because it’s the only highlighter I’ve ever used and it’s probably fine but tbh I wouldn’t know. Any suggestions on a new highlighter once I run out would be greatly appreciated!! On my eyes is NOTe.l.f. - Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palettebut in fact a smaller, very similar palette *also from the Dollar Store* that cannot find on this app. My mascara is the classic pink and green MAYBELLINE - Great Lash Waterproof Mascara For my lips I used an E.L.F. lip liner pencil also from the Dollar Store, ALSO which I cannot find in here (ooh a trend). My lipstick is L'ORÉAL - Colour Riche Lipcolour in Cinnamon Toast and that is all!
COVERGIRL-Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation
Which skin tint is worth it?
Preface: I love skin tints. I much prefer having my natural skin tone, spots, and freckles/moles visible through a dewy foundation rather than having a full coverage matte look which accentuates my skin texture and dryness. These are both formulas I have tried and loved for different reasons but which one is more worth it? Products: UNDONE BEAUTY - Unfoundation Glow Tint Milk MAKEUP - Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30 Price points: Undone: $14 for 1.19oz Milk: $42 for .7oz Applicator: Undone: they have since updated their packaging to a squeeze tube, but I also like this dropper applicator shown in photo 2. It’s hygienic and very easy to control how much you use. Milk: this is kind of strange, but I like that it has an airless pump at the end of the tube. The part I don’t like it the rollerball applicator at the dispensing end of the tube. Like stick foundations, this allows for bacteria (including acne-causing bacteria) to hang out on that applicator if applied directly to the face. This is annoying because every time I use it I have to apply it to the back of my hand and THEN dot it on my face with my fingers for a hygienic application. Scent: Undone: no powerful scent, maybe if anything a subtle clay scent. Milk: this formula is SPF 30 so it just smells like sunscreen. Texture: Undone: this is a super-lightweight thin liquid formula that can be applied directly with your fingers for the lightest coverage or a brush/sponge for slightly more coverage. It offers a SUPER dewy finish that can be set with powder to lessen your glow if preferred. Milk: this offers slightly more coverage and you only need the tiniest bit to cover your entire face. It is thicker than the undone formula and can also be applied with fingers or brush/sponge to customize your preferred coverage. I prefer to apply both of these as dots on my face first and then buffed out with a foundation brush meant for stippling. I also prefer to wear these formulas in the summer time when I am less pale. Overall experience & thoughts: The undone beauty tint is much more accessible being in Target stores and it’s more affordable but doesn’t offer a whole lot of coverage compared to the milk tint. However, each formula is buildable without any cake face. The milk Makeup formula does include SPF so that can be seen as a win but you can also easily apply the undone beauty tint over your daily SPF without issues. My personal preference is to wear the undone tint when I’ll be spending more time indoors and the milk tint when I’ll be spending more time outdoors. They are tints so YES I know neither of them completely matches my skin tone and that is the point, it’s a tint. I would say for the amount of product you get and accessibility for each price point, the Undone Beauty tint is more worth it. ALSO: my skin type is sensitive and dry & my skin tone is fair.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer 💛🌴
The PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer has been such a staple product in my collection for years. I recently hit pan on the lighter bronzer shade (which never happens. I have so much stuff I never seen pan) so I decided to repurchase it (as it was on sale at Ulta). Firstly, the packaging is beautiful! I love the way the compact looks. When you lift the pan up it was a little compartment underneath that holds a little sponge. It also has a mirror underneath. I never use this but I feel like other people would find this really useful. It also smells amazing! It’s a beautiful, tropical scent. Next, the bronzer works super well on the skin. It’s really pigmented so you want to be careful you’re not taking too much. I also dip in and then brush some off on my arm. I always use this for my daily contour. It blends really well into the skin and gives your face a really sunkissed look. It’s not orangey but it does have a little bit of warmth to it so you may want to go in with a cool tone contour shade to chisel out areas a little more. Lastly, it lasts really well on my skin. I have super oily skin and this doesn’t melt off like most my make up does. It doesn’t ever look patchy or gross so I’m really happy for it. For $15.99 I think this is totally worth trying out. It’s about half the price as most bronzers on the market. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good bronzer.

Foundations for combination skin !!!
Clinique ID dramatically different base: this is more of a bb cream and would be amazing for summer time. It goes on as a lotion but the more it is rubbed in it changes color to your skin tone. L’ORÉAL infallible foundation: this foundation is full cover and makes my skin look flawless (I have combination skin) it does get oily around my nose so I always make sure I set my nose with powder for 5 minutes, AOA studio foundation: I honestly love this foundation and it was only $1!!!! But some people have tried it that have not enjoyed it so I can say this product is a hit or miss for some people but I think it makes my skin look amazing. Overall , I did my research on these foundations and say that the ingredients in these foundations are good for your skin and are less likely to break you out because it does not have harmful ingredients.

My secret to achieving a flawless base
Achieving a flawless and perfect base is the most important process in making-up. I have oily t-zone while the rest of my face is very dry and sensitive. Sometimes there is patchiness around my t-zone, crack and dry patches appear on the rest of the skin. Under this circumstance, I have a secret way to achieve a perfect base that can last all night long. Keeping good skin condition is the best way to create a perfect base. So, good skin preparation is the key to great makeup. Usually, I use the PETER THOMAS ROTH’s Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Moisturizer to get my skin prepped and primed. This is the most hydrated and moisturized moisturizer I have ever used. my face becomes so smooth and gentle. When applying foundation on my face, I can feel my face like silk and there is no crack at all. The foundation can better adhere to the face and can last longer. When applying foundation, I usually avoid putting a thick layer of the foundation. It is difficult to blend thick foundation and then there will have cracks on the skin. In order to smoothly blend the foundation, I wet the beauty blender. The damp surface brings more streak-free blending. Because of the dry skin, I also choose a hydrating foundation. I recommend Laura Mercier’s foundation. The brand is famous for its ability to create a ‘flawless face’. The lightweight long-lasting liquid foundation with a matter finish is oil-free. It is creamy and wears beautifully throughout the day. Sometimes I use Laura Mercier’s concealer to cover my imperfections. I apply a layer of a litter concealer over the skin as needed and blend. The last process is to fix all the work firmly on my face. I apply Translucent loose Setting Powder all over my face. It can control the oil around my t-zone and allow longer-lasting of my makeup.
