My Favorite Drugstore Concealer Haul
If you’re like me, you’re on a budget. I am paying off student loans and am currently saving for a wedding, so every penny I save helps me with my future goals and paying bills. I know we can’t always afford organic products that are uber expensive, so I am sharing one of my favorite drugstore concealers that actually work. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer This is a very soft feeling concealer that helps with my little wrinkles around my eyes that I absolutely hate. On top of feeling amazing and looking amazing, it is something I can afford, even being on a budget. It works as well as a designer brand but for much less. You can choose a color that matches your undertones, and it will sit nicely under most foundations. There is a built-in applicator on the tip, which I also love because I don’t have to buy an extra brush for concealer. Neutrogena SkinClearing Blemish Concealer Another one of my favorites because this is a skincare brand that focuses on making products that help your skin not hinder your skin. This will cover all imperfections without clogging them or making them look worse. It will help heal your acne, scars, and any other defects that need healing. This formula has salicylic acid in it that helps your skin heal. Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer Lastly is Revlon. A famous line that is in most local drugstores, this brand carries some of the best concealers. I tried this one day in a pinch on the way to a date with my now fiance. I had to cover up a small pimple, and this worked like magic. I stopped in really quick. I applied it directly to my problem area, blended it with my fingers, and then totally disappeared.

It’s Halloween week but it’s also still Covid-19 timeline! This week I’m going to try to create (semi) work and school appropriate Halloween makeup looks that are fun and easy to do at home. I got new makeup that I’ve been dying to try, so I thought I’d share my thoughts of them with you! Ulta beauty matte primer- I usually use the elf poreless putty primer, but this was really good! It has a nice silicone feel, and it blurs large pores. I wish it came in a bigger container, but it was nice and cheap. Milani foundation- medium coverage, pretty cakey. It has a stronger fragrance than I was hoping for. It accentuated the pores around my nose area. I’m not in love with it, but it’s overall pretty good. Maybelline instant age rewind concealer- this concealer has been talked about a lot recently, and it really is AMAZING. It’s really full coverage, but it also looks natural. And it’s only $7, (I think). Revolution baking/setting powder- This is a nice, loose setting powder, and it does a really good job of mattifying your face. It’s only $10 which is a really good price, but it does have a little flashback. Physicians Formula ultimate butter collection- physicians formula has amazing butter bronzers, highlight, blushes and eyeshadows. I like that it has shades that would work with any skin tone. It’s a little bulky, but it has a mirror, and would be great for travel. The only thing I don’t like is the lip palette. The lip palette is really weird, because it doesn’t have really have pigment, but it doesn’t have the texture of a balm. Also, when you put it on, it has a very strong, and odd flavor. Kind of like plastic. Elf clear eyebrow gel-I mainly got this because of how cheap it is, and I love elf. I got this in clear, and it comes with two sides, a brow side and a clear mascara side. It is pretty nice, but it makes your brows and eyelashes really crunchy feeling. This would be perfect if you want something subtle. For the price ($2), I would recommend it. Wet n wild mascara- It’s okay. The brush is a little to big for my taste, but it’s good for how cheap it is. Revlon lipstick- I got this lip shade in Bare It All, and it is REALLY pretty. It has a really creamy consistency, and I will definitely be getting it in different shades. Would definitely recommend it! Kylie Cosmetics high gloss- I usually don’t buy things this expensive, but it was so pretty, that I decided to go for it. I got the shade Always Shining, and it’s reallyyyy pretty. It looks good alone and with lipsticks. It does have a very strong taste though, so if you want something tasteless, this is not for you. $16 for a lipgloss is pricy, but I’m so glad I bought this! Note: I have Keratosis Pilaris, also known as chicken skin, so if you notice bumpy parts of skin on my face, please ignore them. Thank you!
My favorite concealer
The Hourglass vanish concealer is definitely my favorite concealer at the moment. I enjoy that this product provides creamy full coverage that is forgiving on my dry skin. The smallest amount of product goes a long way. The shade fawn is perfect for my skin tone and I love the yellow undertone that brightens the under eye. I find that this concealer is easy to blend out and it has a very creamy texture. It is a liquid so it is a thinner formula as well. I enjoy that this formula is long lasting and that I can wear it without setting with powder. I do enjoy setting it with powder on more glam days and not setting on a day to day basis. I definitely recommend this concealer if you want full coverage, a little product to go a long way and if you have a dry under eye area like I do. I definitely see myself repurchasing in the future and I think this product is worth its price tag.
HOURGLASS-Vanish Airbrush Concealer
Favorite Drugstore Concealers!
I use the e.l.f. 16HR Camo Concealer and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer basically everyday. The Maybelline concealer is my main concealer which I use under my eyes, on my eyelids, my chin, and around my nose where I tend to get really red. I basically use it as a super light foundation. The applicator is a little dome-shaped sponge so it applies really evenly. You can’t blend it out with that sponge since it is saturated with product, but it blends so easily with just your fingers that it doesn’t really matter. It’s not a super hydrating formula but my skincare routine is, so personally I like it. For me this product is 5/5 since it offers such beautiful coverage and applies really well, but I hate the fact that Maybelline is NOT cruelty-free. The e.l.f. 16HR concealer is newer in my collection, but it has definitely grown on me. The giant doe-foot applicator is a dream, I hate having to go into the tube for more product and it gives me more even coverage. It’s definitely a fuller coverage concealer than the Maybelline one, so I mainly use it for carving out my eyebrows or as an eyeshadow base. It’s very creamy which is nice, but dries down a little quick. It’s still good though and you can give it a spritz of face spray if you aren’t done blending. If you have drier skin, you may want to use their hydrating version.

Is it a dupe?
Is elf Camo a dupe? Elf Camo comes in regular and a hydrating formula. For a week straight I tested the Tarte Shape Tape and the original elf Camo side by side. Here’s what I noticed! Elf Camo is VERY much full coverage! You only need the littlest amount. It definitely helped cover and blemishes or discoloration I had very quickly! However as it seems to be the case with the Tarte shape tape as well, it was a little drying on my under eyes. Was it enough to complain about? No. But it is something to be mindful of. I love the doe foot applicator it has along with the Shape Tape as well. To be completely honest and transparent, I didn’t see much of a difference in anyway. And neither did anyone else really. But I do think the Tarte Shape Tape lasted a little longer without creasing. I also do think the Tarte Shape Tape has a better time blending out and more shades and undertones then elf has at this moment. But, since I found this drugstore concealer, will I be buying the Tarte one again? Well time will see, but I’m leaning more towards no. Especially since I want to try the hydrating elf Camo very soon.
Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Foundation
The Dream Urban Cover foundation is a lightweight, full coverage, matte foundation. You would think that a foundation with sunscreen would give you flashback, but I have not had that experience. It doesn’t make your face look like your wearing foundation, it hasn’t oxidized on me and it has a long wear time. I do use a primer and setting spray so that also helps with the longevity, but overall for the price it is worth it. For those of you that want to know about packaging it comes in a plastic squeezy tube, which I find deposits the right amount of product each time you squeeze it. I would say that the formula of the Maybelline foundation is very similar to the It Cosmetics CC cream, however, the it cosmetics product has more of a medium to full coverage. It’s a buildable cc cream so you can get it to full coverage and it also has SPF that doesn’t give flashback. I have to say I’ve really been enjoying mixing the 2 products together as the it cosmetics cc cream has a dewy effect to it.
MAYBELLINE-Dream Urban Cover Foundation SPF 50
This drugstore foundation blew my mind!! It has an almost watery texture that is similar to a moisturizer/serum but it makes the skin look so naturally flawless! I would say it’s light to medium coverage, it definitely is glow boosting/dewy but lasts all day! It’s really gorgeous on the skin. I love everything about it!! Especially the price. I would highly recommend trying this! 10/10L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
