I have completed my first month of accutane! Now that I’ve finished the first month, my dosage is going up so I’m anticipating more dryness. 😩🏜 PROS: WILL I EVER WASH MY HAIR AGAIN!? It’s never greasy anymore and has so much body! THIS PART IS BOMB. Cons: oh my aching EYES. You know when it’s allergy season and your eyes ache and burn? Well picture that but like you’ve slept with your eyes pried WIDE OPEN ALL NIGHT with sand and sun blowing into them. Also, skin around nose is dry AF. Love looking like I have bats in the cave at all times. Also my hands peel?! I’ve never had ashy dry hands til now. Products that have been helpful when dealing with the shedding uglies and dry skin misery: CeraVe - Healing Ointment

AM Acne-Prone Routine
Trying this combination out. Used this combination yesterday (minus the reservatrol + ferulic) morning and my skin seemed to like it.
Winter slugging 2.0 🐌❄️
In Canada winters are harsh and the Cerave products are hard to come by (always sold out in Montreal anyways) so I used to slug with just vaseline. It works fine, but I decided to upgrade after finding this baby at the drugstore. I was surprised to find the cerave baby line also had a ointment and skincare junkies seem to not have found the baby aisle just yet! CeraVe - Healing Ointment The ingredient list is a bit different from the regular one but it’s very similar. It contains: Ceramides that support healthy skin barrier ✨ Panthenol which is a humectant that has anti inflammatory properties 🧴 Hyaluronic Acid that helps the skin retain moisture 💧 Mineral oil & petroleum that are amazing occlusives 🚫 Since slugging with it a couple nights a week, my wind burns and sensitized skin is so much better (my skin can’t tolerate much actives and I sometimes push a bit too far). I try to use it the night before I wash my hair because it does travel. I also don’t usually cleanse in the morning but If I used petroleum the night before, I will use a gentle cleanser in the morning. I would not recommend slugging to someone with active acne or super oily skin. Petroleum is non comedogenic if you apply it on clean skin but it traps everything in the skin (the good and the bad) so if you produce alot of sebum or have severe acne, maybe it’s not for you. * I do NOT believe in « clean beauty » and couldn’t care less about your fear mongering about petroleum, mineral oil and all of the « harmful ingredients » you think is in this product so please don’t even bother. I will not get cancer from it, i’m fine thank you. ☠️
Fave Multipurpose Product!
CeraVe - Healing Ointment Finding a tub of this in NYC is virtually impossible, and after finding the travel pack version I completely understand why. This healing ointment is packed with three types of ceramides, cholesterol, Hyaluronic Acid, and a load of other emollients/occlusive agents that make it THE perfect healing ointment for dry skin. Two weeks ago, I experienced a dry flare-up after over-exfoliating and “slugging” with this completely saved my skin. Formula wise, this is the perfect ointment to “slug” with, especially if you have eczema. Unlike other ointments, this is non-greasy and has a balm-y feel on the skin. This also makes for a PERFECT/EFFECTIVE overnight lip balm/“lip mask” (yes I’m throwing shade at the Laneige lip mask) to prevent your lips from cracking while you sleep. You can use this on your body, use it as a concealer primer, and I’ve even heard of some people using it on split ends!
First day of school!! My last semester 🎉🎉
I never thought I would be comfortable going to class without makeup, but I’m so glad I don’t feel the need to wake up early and put it on anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I still very much love makeup but it’s a chore getting it off properly! I felt the need to share that it is officially my first day of class in my very last semester of college!! 🎉🎉 (I say like I’m not planning on going back because I hate my degree) We’re gonna be rolling into Marketing Strategy with second day hair, brow gel, and some mascara and that’s it! Sadly, I actually have to attend an in-person lecture, but it’s the only one. I also thought that I might as well share the new routine AM: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Wash Ap+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash I gave this 4 stars because while it says fragrance free it has a strong citrus scent and burns the eyes, but it is definitely moisturizing and doesn’t strip the skin peach slices - Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner I accidentally got this too close to my under eye and it dried it out GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum pretty nice, pretty standard VANICREAM - Lite Lotion DERMA•E - Scar Cream Sun Protectant SPF 35 PM: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Wash Ap+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash *a little pea size amount of tretinoin* GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum VANICREAM - Lite Lotion CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream I apply both moisturizers at night because my skin tends to dry out over night due to me keeping a fan going at all times My skin is a getter drier as the days go by, as expected, because my Accutane dosage has been bumped up and just due to the colder temperatures
Found a picture of my 1st skincare collection
I was going through my pictures this morning and I found the picture I took of the very first skincare products I ever bought. I had masks etc. before this but this was the very beginning!! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I love this toner! It really does help with the texture of my skin and the price point is awesome with the amount you get! The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser When I first used this wash I really loved it! Now that I have tried many others, I don’t love it as much but it’s not the worst cleanser by any means. GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum This is a very great HA serum and another one at a great price point! The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I have seriously bad eye bags because I never sleep well, this serum does reduce them but I’ve recently found other products that are even better. My husband uses this for dark circles and there has been no difference. GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment This is a super gentle chemical exfoliator, if TO serum is too strong for you, give this one a try. You definitely wake up with much softer skin! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution The cult favorite and I love it! It works and does everything it says! Definitely be safe with this one. No more than 2X a week. The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA I cannot RAVE about this enough!!! This serum is the one that seriously reduced my deep forehead wrinkles. This is definitely one you should try if you are trying to reduce the appearance of yours! GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil This is a perfect addition to your routine if you struggle with dry skin and are trying to use things that are anti-aging. Plus it’s amazing on lips too!! GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder I know there are mixed reviews on the do it yourself powders but I actually really love this one. As long as you mix it well into a water-based serum it’s awesome and you can skip a step in your routine. These are all really good products especially for a skincare beginner! If you have any questions about these let me know! ❤️
Will you sashay or will you stay? 😔🤚🏼
I thought I'd give some thoughts on skin care products I have tried in 2020. I will talk about more products in future posts, but let's start with this. What I loved ❤ NEOGENLAB - Sur.Medic Azulene Soothing Pepthide Ampoule After my skin got randomly sensitive (currently being screened for lupus), a lot of products I already had in my routine just didn't work for me anymore and would make my skin angry. I needed to repair my skin barrier and use different products from what I used to use for my then acne-prone skin that could take a lot. This product was key in calming my skin and repairing my moisture barrier. This contains 10 peptides, Azulene blue capsule and ceramide capsules. Holy grail! The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' I heard somewhere that for peptides to be effective, you have to use them AM & PM. I use this in my bedtime routine to maintain the effects of the NEOGENLAB ampoule mentioned above. It's cheap and the packaging is glass. Very easy to incorporate this in your routine when taking a break from retinol that can be irritating. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence I use this after double cleansing at night and it's so good. My skin just drinks it up and it doesn't leave any tackiness. It's super gentle and will give you a boost of hydration after your cleansing step. Been using this every day since this summer and I'm not even halfway done with the bottle. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence My skin has gone through changes this year, but this is one of the products that remained in my routine. I use this in the morning before my serums and it makes my skin looks so great! It's kind of gooey at first, but turn to a watery texture pretty quickly. It's actually impressive how this just sinks into your skin. It helps with my acne scars and post-inflammation hyperpigmentation. One pump is enough for my whole face! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream Many claim that eye creams are not necessary and I believe them. I personally like to use one because I set my concealer with powder and it can be a little drying. This is lightweight and is a good base before eye makeup. Helped with my fine lines and the packaging is glass. 4 stars cause it's not a necessity. Products I disliked 💔 Perricone MD - Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream This eye cream is so heavy and oily it gave me a few milias. Total rip off for the price and it contains palm oil. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I incorporated more niacinamide in ny routine and stopped using acids more than twice a week, so this is not a necessity unless you have 100$ laying around. Can be irritating. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer It worked good when I used to be on antibiotics for cystic acne, but now my skin doesn't absorb it, makes me greasy and breaks me out cause it's clogging. I recommend only if you have dry and flaky skin.
Rosacea/Sensitive skin routine!
This is my new routine for the fall. I recently found out I have rosacea and hormonal acne so I have been experimenting with what products would best suit my skin. For reference: the hormonal birth control pill is what has cleared up my skin dramatically, and I cannot attribute my routine to clearing it up. But my routine is keeping my skin’s moisture barrier soft, healthy and glowing. I will add a brief overview of my routine and why it’s working so well for me! HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is everything.... it’s low foaming, soft and gentle and effectively melts off any and all makeup and sunscreen. It’s non stripping, the only smell to it is very natural and not strong at all, and it’s also very hydrating. Tremella mushroom provides more hydration than regular Hyaluronic acid, and plant based squalane emulsifies all of the makeup and dirt on the skin to gently yet effectively whisk it away. When you rinse, your skin feels so comfortable and never tight/dry. My tried and true CeraVe hydrating cleanser started burning my skin so this cleanser has been a game changer for me! evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray I made a post about this mist. I find that the water in NYC can be a little hard so using this resets my skin’s pH balance and makes for a very soothing product in my routine. I follow with moisturizer after using this lovely fine mist. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer This is such a lovely, simple cream. It has squalane, glycerin, apricot, avocado, olive and rice bran oils, and glacial glycoprotein. This moisturizer is thick enough to help the skin retain moisture and stay soft and supple without being heavy. I love this and I think it’s perfect for the fall to keep combination/normal/oily skin in check! DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask Such a lovely product from drunk elephant! This is a multi use moisturizer/mask. It’s a leave on treatment chock full of hydrating and nourishing ingredients like electrolytes, vitamin F beads (they melt when you massage it in), a large dose of Niacinamide and squalane. This product is so lightweight yet moisturizing and really locks in hydration. I use this on top of my moisturizer night and day for glowy and happy skin! SUNDAY RILEY - Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream One of the only eye creams I actually like! There is a slightly botanical smell to it, but it doesn’t linger. This cream is very moisturizing, illuminating and instantly brightening/depuffing. When I use it I don’t have to use much concealer for my dark undereyes! GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask A very gentle retinol eye cream. No peeling/irritation. I find this helps to smooth texture and helps milia too! Not very clinical but still a nice product.
Pretty good... but DEF not for facial skin :/
When I initially bought this I was using it on my face at the end of my PM skincare routine. I thought it would help with some acne scars I had and it promised non-comedogenic ingredients so I figured I’d give it a shot. First of all, the more I added the less I felt I had on my face. It’s already a pretty thin oil so it didn’t layer on top of my products very well. It even felt like I was removing some of my absolute fav hydration products (like CeraVe - Healing Ointment review to come maybe) and left me feeling very barefaced in the morning where I would normally be dewy. Secondly, it did not help my acne scars at all. I saw no real benefits to my skin, not even a glowy look :( there were no textural, pigment, or hydrating benefits that facial oils usually have. HOWEVER I have been mixing this oil with CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin (just your classic, lightweight body lotion) and it has been adding to the softness of my skin. I usually prep my showers by dry brushing and then finish with this moisture combo and it has been the 💣. It also mixes very easily and helps make good use of both of the products. Probably will not repurchase but not bad for $5.

Organic Skincare on a Budget! 🦄
These have to be two of my favorite products from the Acure line besides their hair products! ACURE - Brightening Day Cream The Brightening Face Cream is the perfect moisturizer for everyday use. It provides the right amount of hydration without being too heavy in the skin and doesn’t require a lot of product to work. The only downside with this product is the amount of citrus EO 🍊 that is in its formula - this can be sensitizing or irritating to already sensitive skin. Besides that, 5 stars! You can purchase this online on the Acure or ULTA websites, but I often find this exact product at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx at a discounted price! 🤑 ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil This Blue Tansy Night Oil is amazing! I would say it’s a less expensive version of the Herbivore Lapis Facial Oil. I love the Herbivore oil so I was excited to try the the Acure version and they did not disappoint. If you are experiencing inflamed, acne-prone, and/or sensitive skin, this is definitely for you. My skin always looked and felt so smooth after using this and it quickly became one of my favorites. Again, only downside is the perfumey scent that it carries. Fragrances can be too sensitizing and it would be even better if the used maybe 1 EO in its formula, at a very small concentration, for scent - OR NONE AT ALL LOL! Other than that, highly recommend 💫 Acure has always been one of my favorite brands ever since I made the switch to clean beauty. They are relatively inexpensive and effective! There are a lot of drug-store clean beauty brands that claim to do wondrous work but often times fall short of a lot of things. Acure, I find, has always had some great products to offer at a great price! 🌼

Affordable&Amazing! Game Changers for Oily Skin!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have oily skin, and my skn is quite skin. Hydration and elementary anti-aging are my biggest requirement for choosing skincare products. After careful search, I come up with this unique combination. 🙊🙊🙊I hope this can be helpful to you as well! After using this combination for one night, I can see that my skin is less oily than it used to be. 1. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% This formula includes a 1% concentration of pure Copper Peptides. It can effectively support a wide range of skin health functions like maintaining normal immune function, collagen synthesis, fibroblast production and anti-inflammatory responses. If you like retinol products better, you can use a retinol serum to replace this serum in the combination. 2. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Affordable moisturizing lotion! It formulates three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It moisturizes and helps restore the skin’s protective barrier. It can also improve the skin's ability to lock in hydration, changing the skin's capability in the long-run. 3. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream It is formulated with Glacial Glycoprotein and olive-derived Squalane. Squalane is known for its exceptional affinity to skin. It is a highly-refined moisturizing oil. So it can cause oily skin to get whiteheads and pimples. But when we use it with ceramide, this problem can be eased. I have used this combination for a few months. My skin has been stable and hydrated during this entire time. They are DEF high-quality products at affordable prices. I really recommend you to give it a try! You won't regret! If you have any other combination that you find awesome, let me know🌞🌞🌞

My skin care routine for dry skin
Hello this is my skincare routine :) So first I start of with my CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin It seems like a nice product but it hasn’t really done anything for my skin except give it pimples :/. The second thing I do is put on my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 when I put it on my skin I can really see a difference in my skin..I suffer from dry skin and it really brightens up my skin definitely recommend :>. The third thing I do is put on my The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA which I do 3x a week It definitely brightens my skin and I would definitely buy again :). The fourth thing I put on is my CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin I loveeee this so much recommend for dry skin! The Last thing I put on my skin is The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane ....this product id say it was nice but I don’t really know..it did get rid of redness which I am thankful for buttt it makes me look like a glazed donut so like...😔. Clean Skincare Routine with Bliss🍊
I’ve been using this skincare combo over the course of a few weeks and I must say it works quite well on my sensitive skin. Here’s a breakdown of the products shown above: Products used: bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser $13 - This is a gentle foaming cleanser for sensitive skin and didn’t irritate my skin whatsoever. No stinging or excessive dryness afterwards. bliss - Pumpkin Powerhouse Resurfacing & Exfoliating Enzyme Mask $15 - This mask is infused with a 10% skin smoothing pumpkin blend of natural AHA’s which gently exfoliated my skin. The pumpkin smell is pretty pungent but my skin was so smooth after I rinsed this bad boy off. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum $27 - it’s safe to say anything with vitamin C becomes my bff. Over the course of two weeks my skin began to look brighter but most importantly my dark spots slowly began to fade. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer $21 - This is a gentle moisture cream that applied thick but melted into my skin as I began to rub it in. Very suitable for sensitive skin. bliss - Lemon & Sage Body Butter $5 - I gave this body butter a 3 mainly because of the added in fragrance. It does smell amazing but I have eczema prone skin and I am always skeptical to putting fragrances on my body. Overall, the vitamin C serum is definitely my fav since it helps combat these stubborn dark marks and the gentle moisture cream is a close second. This skincare combo has had me feeling refreshed all throughout my zoom meetings😌
