Quarantine Manicure 💅🏼
Hi my name is Katerina, you may call me Kat and I’m a neutrals girl. I gravitate to anything and everything neutrals. I may have 50 shades of neutral polish in my collection already. But that doesn’t stop me from adding more! I found this pretty shade on amazon during my regular quarantine browse. I never tried the miracle gel line and decided to give it a go. Just so you know I prefer regular polish for myself. I know you may pass judgment but hear me out! I feel like gel and shellac and other long lasting polishes destroy my nails. They become dry, thin, brittle and break easily. I don’t think it’s worth it. So I prefer to experiment with different brands of regular polishes to see which lasts the longest. Also a couple of chips here and there really don’t bother me. This is my 5th time using this product so I feel like I can give an honest review about how I feel about it. The color is called ‘Little Peony #247’🌸It’s a creamy baby pink shade. It almost reminds me of the OLD Essie Fiji color (my favorite shade of all time before they changed it to a darker pink color). It took two coats to get an even distribution of color and dried quickly when topped with Seche Vite top coat. The color started chipping around day five. But before you click away let me tell you that my hands are always in water. I’m a Chef, so I’m always working with my hands. I’m also a clean freak that still gets on her hands and knees to clean the floors from a bucket twice a week. So my hands take a beating on a regular basis and this polish managed to stay intact through the daily torture. If you’re not working this much with your hands I’m pretty sure you can get away with a week of it not chipping. I’m probably going to look into more shade from this collection and see if the Fórmula holds up for all their shades this well. If you’re still a regular polish fan I highly recommend this collection but especially this color because I die over it!

KaterinaKotyrloHey girl! Thank you! Yeah I actually do my nails myself I just can’t stand sitting at the nail salon for hour idk why I don’t find it as relaxing like other people do! With practice I got pretty decent at shaping and painting. But oh boy do I completely destroy my cuticles 😖

Which Drugstore Gel Polish Reigns Supreme?
Do you all remember when drugstore gel polishes were all the rage a few years ago?! Everyone, including myself, coveted the extra shiny, long-lasting appeal of gel manicures but wanted quicker, more affordable alternatives. I must stress this - I’ve never had a professional gel mani. My comparisons are purely going to be based on longevity, color payoff, & shine. In this post I’m going to discuss 3 popular gel polishes at the drugstore: Sally Hansen - Miracle Gel , essie - Gel Couture Top Coat , and wet n wild - 1 Step WonderGel Nail Color . All of these formulas claim to be long-wearing, high-shine, & don’t need a UV lamp to cure like traditional gel polishes. Sally Hansen: I’m wearing the shade “tidal wave” on my thumbs & pinkies (only left hand photographed). This formula is opaque in 2 coats, has a shiny finish, and easy to apply. I topped it with its matching top coat Sally Hansen - Miracle Gel Top Coat for extra shine. I purchased this shade & top coat as a set for approx $16 a few years ago, and have not had issues with the formulas changing over time. I have 1 other shade (discontinued). They retail for $7-10 each depending where you purchase. Honestly, this formula is not worth the hype or price. This shade lasts longer on me than the other one, but no where near the brand’s claims of being long-wearing. I find that my polish chips within 2-3 days and it’s downhill from there. Easily removable with any polish remover. Essie: I’m wearing “once upon a time” on my index & ring fingers. I received this & essie - Gel Couture Top Coat in an Influenster box a few years ago. The formula has not changed over time. This shade is opaque in 2 coats, shiny, and easy to apply. Sets with a polish & top coat are $18-20 and single polishes around $10-11 depending where you purchase. The formula is true to its claims of even coverage, shine, & fade-resistant. I find this to last about the same time as the WnW polishes (keep reading!). Again, for that reason, not worth the hype or price. Easily removable with any polish remover. Wet n Wild: These are the cheapest at around $5 ea. The 2 downsides are the shade range is significantly smaller (WNW ~ 10, sally hansen ~ 100, Essie ~ 45) & availability. It appears WNW has discontinued most of this line, but you can still find them at Walgreens.com and on the WNW website. This particular shade on my middle finger, “stay classy”, is one of my all-time fave polishes I’ve worn a lot over the last few years. I also have teal shade & the formula is consistent. It’s easy to apply, opaque in 2 coats, and shiny on its own (the 1-step claim) or with Seche - Vite Dry Fast Clear Top Coat This lasts around 3 days without chipping. Easily removable. Because it lasts about the same time as its more expensive counterparts, I recommend these instead. #CheriePartner
✨Mint ombré nails!✨
Mix up your ombre mani by using different shades of polish on each nail! I used Sally Hansen - Miracle Gel Miracle Gel chip resistant colors in 'Mintage', 'Prince Char-mint', 'B Girl', 'Tea Party', and 'Get Mod' plus added a dot of 'Buffalo Nickel' for an accent! Finished with the Sally Hansen - Miracle Gel Top Coatto seal it all in! 💅🏼
Static Nails VS your drugstore nails 💅🏼
Reposting from my personal account but I thought that this would be a good time to make a post on @staticnailsofficial 😙 I’m wearing “super holo” in coffin shape (although I filed them down to more of an almond shape). That being said, they fit small nails like mine and can be filed down easily for a better fit. This is my second time wearing this same set. They’re reusable! I think that’s one of the main reasons why I like them and can justify the price. I went out and bought some press on nails at the drugstore so I could do a more thorough comparison and those are definitely much harder to reuse. Mostly because they’re really difficult to get off without damaging the press on nail. Static Nails comes off easily with warm water, but they’re also a lot more durable and don’t pop off as often. Drugstore nails also end up causing my real nails to lift a lot more. I’ve definitely seen less damage done with Static Nails, although it’s not 0 damage. While drugstore nails usually range about $8-10 and Static Nails are around $16, I’m much more willing to spend the extra money on Static because of their durability and how I’m able to reuse them with no problem. The only issue I’ve come across is losing the pinkie nail of the Peach Fizz set. There was only one nail that could fit my tiny pinkie and I lost it while removing them 😞 My nails use all of the smallest sizes in the set so now I’m just left with a bunch of sizes that are too big and way too big to make work as a pinkie nail. — gifted

Best White Nailpolish Ever!
OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer #cheriepartner I’ve tried SO many white nail polishes and I’ve always been on the hunt for the perfect white. This OPI Nail Lacquer in Alpine Snow is the absolute perfect choice. What I love the most about this OPI formula is how opaque it goes on. I usually use two coats but you technically could just use one with how flawless this formula is! On top of that, I usually use a top coat but this is one of the only polishes that doesn’t chip after one day of wear. OPI formulas are seriously some of my favorites. If you’re looking for an opaque application, this is the option for you. I do enjoy sheer white polishes, but I feel like for an all white nail look, there’s something striking about an opaque polish.

y’all asked- full how-to for my rose nails! 🌹🌹
hey y’all! a while ago I posted a video of my rose nails but didn’t attach a tutorial... well, ask and you shall receive! read on for the full tutorial! 🌹step one- start with your base color! •for this manicure, I chose a nude color close to my skin tone; however, you could choose any color that would compliment the color of the roses. •start painting your nails with the color of your choosing. the brush should start just above your cuticle. push the brush towards your cuticle, then pull back across the rest of the nail. repeat this process to cover the sides of the nail. 🌹step two- paint the roses •for the roses, I used two shades of red, one darker than the other. •start with your lighter shade. paint slightly irregular circles on your nails in varying sizes- you want the circles to have a bit of a wavy edge to mimic petals. •once the first color has dried completely, outline the roses in the darker color, and make little half circles inside the roses to look like petals. 🌹step three- add some leaves •i used two shades of green for the leaves. •start by painting little leaf shapes in the empty spaces around the roses. •once the first color has dried completely, outline your leaves in a darker shade of green. 🌹lastly- some finishing touches! •use some acetone to clean up your fingers and finish with a glossy top coat. enjoy! happy painting! xoxo abra
Cute shiny nails 🎉
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of painting my nails. I like to keep them neutral but when I use a creme polish, it always chips easily, even when I use a base and top coat. This is because due to my job, I’m washing my hands and using hand sanitizer really frequently for work. So because of this, I wanted to challenge myself to create an elevated “natural” nail look. I used this by layering a few top coats with different shiny mix-ins. The final look turned out SO CUTE, but I wanted to break down my thoughts on each nail polish I used: OPI - Natural Nail Base Coat I do really like this base coat, but my only issue with it is that it doesn’t protect against my daily storm of sanitizer and hand washing. It wears off within 48 hours—I always have at least a few chips by then. HOLO TACO - Aurora Unicorn Skin I am SO entranced by this top coat! It has blue-to-purple shift flakes in there that are invisible unless shifting in the sun. It is such a good addition to any nail look. HOLO TACO - Blue Flakie so this is a holographic top coat but the flakes inside are supposed to be tinted blue. I really love how this looks, but my issue is that the actual clear polish is tinted blue. I wish it were just a clear polish. HOLO TACO - Super Glossy Taco this is HANDS DOWN my favorite top coat. It dries down in under 30 minutes and hardens to protect the look! What are you favorite nail polishes?

At-Home Dip Manicure - my thoughts + experience✨
In my last post I talked about the differences between dip powder manicures and gel manicures as well as which I prefer (spoiler - I mostly go for gel polish but do prefer dip to full gel nails). After hearing all the hype around dip manicures and getting a couple myself, I decided I’d like to venture out and try my hand at an at-home dip manicure - how hard could it be?! I was lucky enough to be gifted the Dip Well dip powder manicure set by the brand so I dove right in and tested it out. It comes with step by step instructions and is laid out pretty well actually. My first try ended in nails that were a little too thick and a little lumpy, but overall not bad! This set is great to have and once you get the hang of it it is pretty handy to have, but overall I would say that I much prefer to go get a manicure from a professional who knows what they are doing😆 When you’re watching someone else do a dip manicure, it looks pretty simple but it’s a little trickier on yourself than you might think! I am all for DIYs when it comes to almost everything and while I do still use this kit from time to time, but when I go get my nails done I look at it as a form of self care and a treat for myself so I probably will continue with that! Would you rather to a DIY manicure or go get your nails done? #Cheriepartner
