Five Must-have products for graduation makeup
This is it. The time you have been waiting for. Whether this is your first graduation or your second time around the rodeo (maybe even your third); there is one thing that you’ll want to look back on, and that is your graduation photos. Here are 5 makeup tips and tricks for your graduation makeup to make sure your big day goes perfectly as planned and your pictures turn out astounding.
Base makeup for flash photographyFlashback is one of those enemies you don't want to keep closed. Use base makeup products without specific SPF ingredients and silica, which is the main ingredient in HD powders. I recommend NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation. It has a sheer finish and a full and flawless coverage, which is perfect for a flawless canvas on camera.
Waterproof mascarasThis is a big day for you. You might have decided that no way would you be that girl. You know.. the one who cries at graduation. But who are you kidding? You may never see some of these people again, so feel free to coat up on your fave water-proof mascara and let the river flow. I recommend Lancôme Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara. I am a die-hard fan of it!
Dewy skinHighlighter and dewy skin is the new matte. Graduation is your time to shine. Try some natural-looking while glitter highlighters, and you will look perfect in photography. Recommended products: Glossier Haloscope - The crystal-infused luminizing cream adds the teensiest bit of shimmer, while the little circle in the middle — made up of solid coconut and castor seed oils — breaks up the pigment slightly and gives skin a nice sheen.
Set it and forget itGraduation is a long day, and you can bet you won’t be caught slippin’ up on your makeup. My favorite setting spray to use is Urban Decay’s All Nighter setting spray. Set your face and literally forget about it, because there’s no way your makeup is coming off any time soon.
Matte lips are outMatte lips are a thing of the past, and even high end makeup brands are starting to move towards glosses. Find a gloss or even a velvet lippie that suits your skin tone. A light pink? Maybe even a glitter? I love L'Oreal Infallible 8 Hour Hydrating lip gloss most. It keeps lips soft, smooth, colorful and glossy for eight hours.

Worth the money?? 👀
I’ve seen tons and tons of reviews on this product and this price point $65!! I’m allowed to have insanely high expectations. This isn’t advertised as a mattifying product, it does claim to control oils in your T zone. It didn’t do that at all... I followed my regular makeup routine and used Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder instead of my regular MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder And I was pretty disappointed. I was an oily mess about 4 hours in ☹️ Texture wise, it’s finally milled and the packaging is obviously gorgeous. Mine is in the shade medium. It didn’t add any coverage and I used a fluffy brush to set over my T zone and under eye. To be fair, I did try this on one of the hottest days of summer. I’ll continue using this product and update this review if anything changes! As of now, I feel there’s tons of better options out there for much much less 😬

flesh - Flesh to Flesh Highlighting Powder value $28 I do love this highlighter. I like it more than the OFRA I featured earlier. I love how the pink tint blends well with my blush unlike the glazed donut. This one is so nice and delicate, it gives that’s kisses glow we all know and love! I also love how it comes as a mirror compact for on the go even though I have not had to touch up.

Is Foundcealer really full coverage? 🤔
tarte - Babassu Foundcealer Skincare Foundation SPF 20 I got this shade at Sephora without being able to try it on because of the covid rules. I use a beauty blender to apply it on. To be honest it is a little drying and I have to make sure to moisturize really well or else it kinda flakes off. It’s nearly full coverage. In certain lighting I can still see the redness on my cheeks but it is difficult to find a full coverage foundation. This was my first tarte purchase and I may try other ones in the future. I do think it matched my skin tone well so long as I blend sufficiently. It’s not my favorite foundation but it does do the job. It doesn’t stay very well on my face even with primer and setting powder&spray. I notice it gets a little patchy and doesn’t do well with sweat especially on long days. The last pic is freshly applied and in good lighting but regularly it doesn’t look so even. I do like that is has 20spf which is nice.

My Everyday Drugstore Makeup Routine
Hey friends ✨ This collection has been my everyday staple for the past year (or so). The products are great price for value and last me a while. I’ve started just buying two when I run out, so I can shop even less! I recommend checking them out to see if they work as well for you as they do for me. 🙃 Eventually, I would love to make individual swaps to more natural, health-based skincare and makeup products (as my budget allows). What swaps have you made to your collection? ❣️🌱 _ Everyday Drugstore Makeup: Foundation: Medium Coverage, doesn’t dryout skin, around $11. MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation Concealer: Medium/Full Coverage, great for acne/dark circle coverage and problem areas, around $8. RIMMEL - Stay Matte Liquid Concealer Contour Bronzing Palette: Great tone variation, lasts a long time, only $9.99. essence - Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder Palette Highlighter Palette: Awesome little palette I can bring with me anywhere. essence - Glow To Go Highlighter Palette Pressed Powder: Literally a staple I’ve used my entire life (as well as my whole family). I try to buy a bunch when they’re on sale because they just last forever! Forever a staple. $4 RIMMEL - Stay Matte Pressed Powder Brow Pencil: Love these, but wish I had a reusable option (or more product inside). I like having the brush and the pencil together, but hate that I have to throw something (that seems like it could be reusable) out. Also good price tho (like $3). e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow Pencil Brow Gel: Helps me keep my brows in place for the day ahead! I don’t like how I can see the clear gel turn the colour of my brow pencil though (lol). I think I’ve purchased twice and that covered me for the year (and it’s cheap). essence - Lash & Brow Gel Mascara
