Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum
Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream What am I? A caffeine eye serum designed to de puff the skin and reduce dark circles. The product claims to “reinforce the skins natural defense against environmental aggressors.” This product targets skin concerns such as aging, dark or tired eyes, and sagging skin. This serum has a really cool gel like texture that pats easily into the skin and absorbs quickly with no tackyness that some eye serums have. What do I think about it? When this brand first came to Sephora I couldn’t decide what to try first. I was checking this serum out, and when they released a limited edition set that had this in it, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had this now for about a month, and have been using it on and off. This eye serum definitely does help to tighten up the area around my eyes and make me look a little more awake. I don’t have dark circles so I can’t speak to that effect but I will say that I don’t think there’s anything especially brightening about this serum. I like to use this on days when I’m not planning on going out, but I usually reach for a different eye cream when I’m getting ready for work and want something with brightening benefits. It’s not a bad product by any means. It feels really cooling on the skin, and you could even still use this during the day and then layer another brightening eye cream on top. For those in their early 20s or someone just getting started with skincare, this would be a great introductory product. Would I recommend it? Overall, I think it’s worth a try. The Inkey List has super low prices and this serum retails for under $10 so if you have nothing to lose by picking it up!

Vichy Eye Serum
Vichy Eye Serum
What is it? A hyaluronic eye serum made to help brighten and smooth fine lines under the eyes. It features caffeine, hyaluronic acid, and mineralizing thermal water-water from a volcano enriched with minerals to strengthen the skin barrier. It is a light gel serum—one pump is enough for both eyes. My thoughts 💭 I actually love this eye serum. I had only tried one other eye serum (from the ordinary) and it was pretty good, so my expectations were high. It is very cooling and I can definitely tell it plumps my under eyes (hides my fine lines) and I have noticed a change in the appearance of my under eyes. Not significant changed in dark circles but more with hydrating and making me look less tired. I’ve had this for about 1 month and a half and I’ve barely made a dent in it, it’ll last forever! I tried this product because I am a partner with the brand and they gifted it to me for a review! Final takeaways 🗣 I do recommend this product if you are looking for a top notch eye serum! It works, makes you look less tired, more plump. It is also priced reasonably at $24 for 0.51oz. Definitely worth looking into if tired looking eyes are an issue! Best & Worst⁉⁉ My Personal Ranking of 4 Hyped B5 Products...
Best & Worst⁉⁉ My Personal Ranking of 4 Hyped B5 Products...
Vitamin B5 helps keep skin soft, smooth and healthy. It has an anti-inflammatory effect that can help stimulate your skin's healing processes. I have combo skin and I've tried 4 hyped B5 products. Here is my personal ranking of them: 1⃣LA ROCHE-POSAY Baume B5 2⃣SKINCEUTICALS Hydrating B5 Gel 3⃣The Ordinary B5 4⃣LA ROCHE-POSAY Serum B5 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 $6.8 for 30ml  This is an amazing product at an inciting price tag. You really can't go wrong with $6.00 for this goodness. It has a sticky consistency with no scent. When you rub it into your skin, it suds up a bit. After a moment it seeps into the skin. Another thing to note is that it peeled under my sunscreen and makeup products, so I just used it in the evening.   LA ROCHE-POSAY - Hyalu B5 Pure Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum $30 for 30ml The one major flaw in this product is the fragrance. It is a heavily perfumed scent that takes a long time to disappear and its not suitable for sensitive skin. The texture is sticky but it didn't ball up on my face. It seemed to absorb slowly, which means I had to wait along time to apply moisturizer over top.  It may have worked to leave my skin hydrated but I will not repurchase it for the texture and fragrance.  SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel $83 for 30ml The price is kinda steep but you get what you pay for!  The texture is silky and a little goes a long way. And it didn't ball up at all. It keeps the skin hydrated and plump. Although the product is pricey, it lasts for a long time and does the job, thus it is worth it. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations $15 for 40ml This is my holy grail irritated skin rescue product! When I suffered from sensitive skin conditions or went too hard on the retinol, it works well to speed up the skin recovery process and moisturize dry patches. My skin even gets sting when I apply  La mer, but this balum helps so much to reduce the irritation and soothe the healing skin.  I HIGHLY recommend for any irritated skin that needs quick healing. If you have any questions or suggestions hmu 😘💖‼️

“Simplicity is key” is not a cliche
“Simplicity is key” is not a cliche
I’m a chemistry graduate weening her way into the personal care sciences to make effective skincare and makeup that has a long lasting effect on the way your skin treats you. I have a deep passion to help people around me understand what the hell is going on with their skin. More often than not, the issue is... we be doin too much. I don’t have problematic skin per say but she is sensitive, picky, and temperamental. For a while I fell down the 10 step skin care routine rabbit hole. I put a toner on my face, a serum, another serum, aloe Vera gel, and two heavy moisturizers. I thought that would make me glowy. Wrong. Instead what happened was my skin started growing bacteria. Fungal acne, my new worst enemy. There was too much going on. I had little spots on my forehead I couldn’t get rid of. So like any other skin care junkie I decided to combat it with even MORE products. When that didn’t work, I thought about how my skin was in high school. A single pimple during my time of the month and that was it. Why wasn’t my skin fussy back then? It’s cuz I didn’t do much back then. I scaled back. I used simple skin care with simple ingredients. I used skin care from the same brand to see if the way they work together benefitted me. Low and behold, my fungal acne was defeated. But then came eczema. As I’ve gotten older, my seasonal allergies have taken over my life. Not only do I have to go out of my way to keep itchy eyes and sneezes at bay, but eczema so graciously decides to find a home under my eyes. Insert eye creams. Insert... two eye creams. Truly a dynamic duo. All the products tagged here are my holy grail items. I’m loyal to them and will die for them. They continually fix my skin when she’s acting up and give her a pat on the back when she’s behaving. I’m back on my cycle of getting one blemish per month and I keep that at bay with DifferinGel & acne patches. Sometimes when we cut back, our skin will thank you. Tips: Don’t wet your face before putting this cleanser on. Weird. I know. But don’t. Let your dry skin drink this in first. Then add water to foam it up after it’s completely rubbed in. Your skin will feel 10 times more moisturized after cleansing this way. Don’t towel dry your face. Let it air dry. Pat the water in. Use a hand fan. A sopping wet face? Yeah. That’s what we want. Letting your face air dry allows your face to drink that water! The Hyaluronic acid serum retains water from the air and the water already on your skin. Youre giving your serum a boost if you let your face air dry. That’s where the moisture will be retained from.

My new skincare routine
My new skincare routine
Let’s start with what I’ve been using the longest: CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I LOVE this cleanser. I have acne prone skin and congested pores like crazy. I started using this a week ago and I’ve noticed a huge difference with my skin feeling way cleaner and it never feels tight after I wash it. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 For someone who has combination skin, this is a life saver. It hydrates my dry spots but doesn’t make my t-zone super oily! And it keeps me feeling hydrated all day. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I tried this because I’ve always used a traditional moisturizer and the thought of only using serums was weird to me. I will stick with it because it makes me feel like I’ve locked everything else in! A little goes a very long way! And my favorite face sunscreen.... alba BOTANICA - Hydration Sensation Water Gel SPF 18 for sunny south Florida and it doesn’t feel thick and gross. And even better, doesn’t clog my pores. Also works great under makeup. I have skipped a primer on some days and just let this be my base 🤷🏼‍♀️ Now for my newbies... The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane didn’t burn, loved the way my face felt after using it! We shall see in the long run. It’s not my first rodeo with Retinoids but this one is new The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I’ve used it twice so far, and the first time i felt a tiny bit of tingling but it was extremely short lived. It does have a sticky-ness to it so I suggest putting it under something else (obviously it would have to go under my Retinoid). I put it under my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and it seemed okay but I didn’t put makeup on today. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I tried this baby last night for the first time! 10 minutes, just as directed. A bit of initial tingling. But after? My face felt as smooth as ever!!! I loved it! I followed it with my The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 andThe Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane (since I’m not new to retinoids). Face didn’t feel sensitive this morning. I have not tried the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution since I didn’t want to mix it with the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution but I will probably end up using the peel on Monday’s and the toner on Wednesday’s and Fridays. I don’t want to strip my skin. Oh and some days I used a Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, just depends on how my face feels. But I haven’t felt the need to since I started using the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Any thoughts?! 🥰
