Skincare for Time-Savers – My Lazy Day Skincare Routine for Acne!

JulietH21
As someone that is beauty product OBSESSED – I sometimes end up with a twelve-step routine before bed. Although this is fun, sometimes I have to step back and ask myself: · Do I really need this many products? · Could too many products be actually harming my skin instead of helping? · Could I achieve the same healthy skin with less product application and significantly less money spent? A few details about my type of skin include: · European heritage · Oily-skin that is dry with the wrong products · Acne-prone skin since I was fifteen/ subsequent scarring · Fighting anti-aging and fine lines, especially around my smile and forehead. (Curse my expressive face that cannot hide any emotions!) So I asked myself – Can I get this down to three products? And voila! I selected my favorite three that I could NOT live without. When I do not feel like bringing out the entire skincare brigade – I opt for these main trusted three: 1. Herbivore’s Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask – A bit about this product includes: a. Great for a once-per-week mask b. Sometimes I use it twice per week if I’m suffering from bad acne c. The ingredients clarify using aloe (soothing) blue tansy (redness calmer), white willow bark (anti-inflammatory), all combining for a resurfacing-effect that fights bacteria. d. Contains BHAs and Salicin (an anti-microbial that kills bacteria) e. The scent is fruity and smells like herbs/aloe f. Blue tansy has a mildly-medicinal fragrance g. The texture is thick, almost like maple syrup h. A little goes a long way! i. One bottle can last me about 6-months if I use it properly j. Price: $48.00 k.Ratings: 4.5-stars out of 200+ reviews   2. Terre Mere’s Aloe and Tea Tree Toner – A bit about this product includes: a. I only recently discovered this in my Fab Fit Fun box, a subscription service that sends new beauty products to your door once per season. b. On days that I do not mask with the Blue Tansy – I only use this toner and the oil listed in #3. (If only using these bottom two products, I would use the toner first, and then follow-up with the oil on step #3, for an even more simplified routine). You should also cleanse/wash your face between toning and moisturizing, but we’re going for basics here! c. I tend to lean towards products with aloe, very calming for my skin’s redness d. The tea tree oil offers an anti-fungal property to fight harmful bacteria that clog pores e. Infused with a sulfur compound that they claim offers a collagen-boosting effect f. Vegan g. Willow bark (now that I’m researching, quite similar to the blue tansy mask indeed!) There is a reason these ingredients are used for fighting acne – they work! h. Fragrance-free - important unless the fragrances are naturally-occurring. You don’t want to clog your skin with dyes and perfumes. i. Price: $54.00 j. Ratings: None available   3. Herbivore’s Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil – A bit about this product includes: a. I love the brand Herbivore Botanicals! It is one of my all-time favorites. Not only do I trust them for clean, vegan, and highly-moisturizing products, but they also fight my breakouts like no other topical treatment ever has. b. The prices are slightly high – however, the formulas are so concentrated. I have been able to make a bottle of this last for 6-months. That is less than $8 per month. So there is no need to see your skincare as a major luxury! c. Fights redness and dullness d. Absorbs quickly e. Great for any skin type– even oily skin. That is what it’s for! If you have oily skin, stripping it of natural oils will only reinforce oil production, resulting in more breakouts. Do not fight your skin’s natural proclivity to produce oil! Okay, queens!? f. Even if you have dry or combination skin, this product will leave you feeling exceptionally moisturized without a greasy effect. g. Utilizes a blend of cannabis oil, hemp seed oil, omegas, and adaptogens h. $1 for each bottle sold is donated to help legalize cannabis for therapeutic-use and medicinal research i. The color is as the name suggests – emerald to light green j. I use about 2-3 drops per morning and night k. I gently massage it into the places that become the most inflamed (around mouth mostly) l.  Price: $48.00 m.   Rating: 4.5-stars out of 100+ reviews I have a few other favorites, but honestly, nothing compares to these OG three! These main three products are heavily responsible for my skin having: · Reduced redness · Less inflammation and acne · A smoother texture · A brightened glow See the before and after pictures for proof of my glow-up!

My face mask awards: for combo skin type with acne
Today I want to talk about three face masks that I have been loving for a long time. I am a combo skin and sometimes would suffer from breakouts.  These masks target different skin concerns and are all effective in improving skin conditions. One common thing they share is that they are not sheet masks: I know how Korean masks are popular these years, but I personally still prefer cream masks. When I apply them, I am free to walk around, talk, and do anything I’d like. It’s really convenient and relaxing.  1. Blue tansy from Herbivore  HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Mask You can see that I am going to use it all up. This jar has lasted about one year. It has AHA and BHA in its ingredients and these acids are able to help clean pores and improve skin textures. I always go to this face mask when I feel my pores are somehow clogged and I am prone to break out: pimples would pop out on my forehead and around jawlines. I  usually put it on my fridge, and after applying a thin layer on my face, it’s super soothing and relaxing. When I wash it off, I would find my face noticeably brightened and my blackheads would even be reduced. I would recommend it to those who are bothered by clogged pores and frequent breaks out. 2. Hydra-biome probiotic super dose face mask with real Greek yogurt from Korres KORRES - Hydra Biome Probiotic Superdose Face Mask With Real Greek Yoghurt This is a face mask recommended by one of my friends who told me it did a great job at minimizing pores and improving skin texture. Korres is a brand from Greece and this mask has more than 7% real Greek yogurt in it, as well as hyaluronic acid and glycerin. Except for hydrating the face, probiotics in yogurt is capable of rebalancing the skin’s natural protective layer. I would apply it very thickly on my face and leave it on there for about 20-30 minutes. You could see that it has been absorbed and becomes thinner. After use, my face could be greatly hydrated and the pores are also visibly smaller than before. Long-term use could help improve skin texture to a great extent. I would stick with it! 3. Totes Meer Maske from Schaebens This is a deep cleanse mask with silt. I first tried this mask about 3 years ago when I went to Germany and bought this in a drugstore. It is super good at cleansing the skin. I usually use it before I apply other kinds of moisturizing masks. It stings a bit so if you have sensitive skin, you should be cautious. After about 15 minutes, it would gradually dry up and I usually use a towel to help get it off. After use, my face would brighten up and become super clean. The package is also travel-friendly. If you are looking for a cleansing mask and your skin is not very sensitive, I would recommend this to you. It’s about $1 for 20g, super affordable!

Battle of Face Masks, Guess Who Wins!😆
I have combination-oily skin, where my forehead and T-zone tend to get very oily. I also have sensitive skin. I recently bought two face masks, and let's see which one is better. ① HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Mask It has a blue, gel texture, and it doesn't smell particularly nice but you only need to use a minimal amount to apply just a thin layer. You can wash it off after leaving it standing for 20 minutes. It feels cool on the skin and irritates very slightly when applied but I still consider it mild. It has a gel texture which doesn't leave the skin feeling dry even after 20 minutes. It's better to use a towel when washing it off for super smooth skin. Keep your skin moisturized and see your skin visibly improved the next day. It's really soothing for the skin. I think it's really worth its price as a bottle could last me for quite a long while. ② Chantecaille Fruit and Flower Acids Mask It has a thick texture and I like its gardenia scent. I use this mask about 1 to 2 times a week after removing my makeup. I'll wash it off after around 7 to 8 minutes as it irritates a little if I leave it on for too long. It scrubs off dead skin cells and removes blackheads well, leaving my skin smooth after using it. It's very suitable for summer. The two products require about the same usage but Chantecaille is easier to wash off when compared with Herbivore. Chantecaille has a more pleasant scent and it doesn't need to be applied that long. How do you like these two products? 😍😍

Is Hemp Oil The Secret To A Heavenly Glow?🤔🤔
Sometimes I’m convinced nature knows best. I’ve been glad to see more and more skincare brands returning to the timeless trustworthiness of nature and botanicals to create premium products that are super effective.   Something I’ve been reading a lot about recently is hemp oil. The skincare industry is packed at the moment with retinols, tocopherols, glycerols, and myriad other ‘ols’ that sound like they’ve been cooked up in a lab. ‘Ols’ make me think of smoking vials and bubbling beakers. ‘Oils’ on the other hand… that one little letter makes a big difference.   The reason I started looking into hemp oils is because I’ve been hunting for an oil that’s light enough to use morning and night. My skin is relatively ‘normal’ in type, if a little sensitive, but I like to moisturise a lot to keep it young and feeling fresh. Because I don’t have oily skin, I can indulge in oil-based moisturisers. I decided to try HERBIVORE - Emerald Hemp Seed Deep Moisture Glow Oil. Once you’ve got past the exhaustingly long title, this product is actually pretty simple - and all natural.   I opted for this hemp product in particular for one reason: the ingredients list. I’ve never seen a list that’s so recognisable - so many natural names, so few unpronounceable chemicals. It’s packed to the rafters with plant extracts: sunflower, eggplant, jojoba, basil, and turmeric to name a few. But I was interested in the hero of the story, hemp oil.   For some people, hemp = hippie. Woven hemp bags, rustic hemp cloth, and of course, cannabis. But hemp comes from a non-intoxicating strain of the cannabis plant that’s more commonly used for things like rope, paper, clothing, and health and body care. The power of the plant has been known for centuries, but modern dermatologists have found that it delivers a burst of moisture and antioxidants to skin, as well as providing anti-inflammatory properties, and (allegedly) antibacterial powers. This is why hemp oil has been used in holistic acne treatment - it can clear blemishes, soothe irritation, and even treat scarring.   Last but not least, hemp seed oil (it’s true name, often shortened to just hemp oil) is basically a moisture elixir. After using it twice a day for a month, my skin hasn’t felt dry once, it feels softer, and it shines.   Herbivore’s Glow Oil is everything free: SLS free, paraben free, sulfate free, gluten free, and vegan. If you’re ready to jump on the hype of hemp, you’re in for a treat.

The skin is the largest organ in the body and when you don't sleep it can affect the quality of your skin, the guilty? the stress hormone called cortisol. So I want to talk about my one
So I want to talk about my one of my holy grail skin care products it’s the @Herbivorebotanicals Lapis oil. It's literally changed my life and I can’t live without it. I discovered this product four years ago when I was going through the worst acne in my life. It was during my pregnancy and my acne was just at its worst. It was so bad it almost looked like a rash on my face. Once I delivered I wanted my skin to go back to normal. I had never used an oil before bc I always had oily skin and used to think using an oil would make it worst! Anywho I was wrong! Not this oil! The first thing that caught my eye about this oil was that it was a solution for acne and blemishes and it helped with your pores. I didn’t think I just bought and I have never looked back since then! I think I always have 2-3 bottles stacked in my drawer and I've used it daily in my skin care even if it’s just patches on my skin. So I have to say if you have issues with acne and wether your skin is oily or dry! Give this product a go! It saved my skin! And I think you'll love it too! 💙💙💙

Acne prone skin? Meet your new BFF: Lapis oil
Acne prone skin? Meet your new BFF: Lapis oil
Herbivore Lapis Oil is a balancing face oil designed for oily-acne prone skin. It provides deep moisture without clogging pores and claims to stop oil glands from over producing oil in the skin leading to less breakouts. It contains azulene, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory squalane which protects against hyperpigmentation and anti aging, and jasmine sambac oil which increases moisture. This is a clean oil with no fillers and a vegan formula. It has a thin light texture which makes me confident it won’t clog my pores. I have used this for about a year now and I love this face oil. It is so lightweight I know it won’t cause any breakouts or clogged pores. It is the last step in my routine and is a life savor if you have acne prone skin like me! It helps calm any inflammation and soothes irritated areas. I do recommend this product if you can get your hands on it, however it has a hefty price tag of $72 and I only purchase it with a good discount! 5/5 stars ✨ HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

So thankful for Herbivore Botanicals Lapis!
So thankful for Herbivore Botanicals Lapis!
I attribute my skin transformation to Lapis! I use to be so afraid of facial oils. I just had this misconception that if I have oily skin applying facial oil would make it worse! This has helped so much with inflammation and redness I have had on my nose and cheeks! It also helps reduce the appearance of blemishes, thankfully I don’t breakout too much anymore! Pair this with Blue Tansy and my skin feels amazing! So calm and smooth! What product are you most thankful for? ☺️

UFO Acne Oil
UFO Acne Oil
SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil UFO is a medicated dry oil that has many uses including treating and preventing acne, clearing congested pores, and smoothing fine lines. The texture is a very light oil and it truly does feel dry as it absorbs very quickly. It starts green but immediately dissipates as it’s rubbed in. I haven been using this oil for a few years now. I was very intrigued with how multifunctional it was so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. This definitely isn’t an every day use oil but I do use it often when expecting some hormonal acne. It helps to keep my skin clear almost as a preventative. I love love love this oil! 15mls for $40 is a steal! This oil will last you soooo long and you will love every second of it! 4 out of 5 ⭐️ because it has a very strong oregano like smell to it. I recommend this to anyone that struggles with acne! It’s perfect 👌🏻
