Eye Serum for Fine Lines - Hyaluronic Acid to the Rescue!
My grandma instilled in me as a little girl – “Take care of your skin early-on!” When I was 13, I began taking care of my skin against acne and concurrently anti-aging. Now, over 12 years later, I think my skin has significantly benefited from the early attention to fine lines and all-around health. Eyes tell the story of your soul, and we want them to shine bright! We all battle with fine lines appearing and fighting the tests of time, but you do not want the skin around your eyes to pay the cost. I have always experienced difficulty with eye creams because: · If I apply the eye cream too low, it will cause acne on my sensitive-skin and cheeks. · If I apply the eye cream too high, it creeps into my eye in the middle of the night and I’m temporarily blinded and in searing pain! This sounds ridiculous, but I have come to the conclusion that it is my long eyelashes pulling the product into my eyes to the point of stinging and burning. Therefore, I have to be very careful about the products I use as well as their placement. Favorite Product to Date Since many eye products have not worked for me, I have opted for an anti-aging moisturizer that incorporates Hyaluronic Acid into a serum. It is delicate, very gentle, and effective (without blinding me!) My favorite recent discovery is the Hyaluronic Acid Serum by Grace & Stella. I found this product through my Fab Fit Fun box subscription, a cosmetology and lifestyle service that sends trendy beauty products to your door once per season. Why I Love It The reasons that I love this specific serum by Grace and Stella includes: · Paraben & fragrance-free · A non-toxic beauty brand that I trust · I can use on my entire face, all wrinkles, and fine lines (not just around eyes) · The formula is incredibly soft, lightweight, and feels ultra-hydrating · Removes blemishes, acne scarring, and fine lines simultaneously – As a 25-year-old battling multiple skin concerns, this is what I need out of a product! You can easily spend hundreds on numerous products, but this is a great all-in-one option. Why Hyaluronic Acid? Some of the benefits of hyaluronic acid include: · Adds a moisturizing effect to the skin that ‘plumps’ out fine lines and sunken wrinkles · Adds suppleness as a humectant (humectant is a natural moisturizer that draws water from deeper layers of skin cells, essentially acting as a sponge on your skin for hydration) · Generates cell renewal so that your brightest and freshest skin layers are resurfaced daily · Related to cell turnover, pigmentation issues decrease (such as age spots) · Protects your lipid barrier, leaving the skin resilient against free radicals and external toxins, such as pollution. These are just some basic facts that drew me to hyaluronic acid, but always do your own research to know if a product or chemical is a good match for your skin type. Nearly half of my life has been dedicated to proper skin-care. Due to this, I recommend you start hunting for those best-fitting products sooner rather than later. Science, dermatologists, and countless studies have proven that it is nearly impossible to remove a wrinkle once it has solidified. Therefore - prevention is the best treatment!

Skin Journey Progress
I still have some acne here and there, but overall my skin has been more clear. My freckles are lightening, partly because it’s fall, and partly because of the vitamin c serum, and the AHA/BHA serum. I do have larger pores, but some of the “pores” it shows are freckles. I don’t love the dark circles. I have a new eye cream to try once I’m finished up the one I have. I think the wrinkles and fine lines look good. I’m 39, so I’m not expecting miracles. I’m integrating the EARTH HARBOR - SIREN SILK Multi-Tasking Hydration Cremeinto my routine. I’m using it on days where I don’t use the daily resurfacing peel from Beauty Counter, since the siren silk has sea retinol. This is my first experience with any type of retinol, so I’m excited to see how my skin does. I think it’s purging a bit right now since I have some extra pimples on my cheeks. The second photo is me with light coverage makeup. Don’t mind my hair in that photo. I was just letting it air dry. My current routine: Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Transformative Cleansing Oil Beauty Counter Coco Cream Cleanser Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream Beauty Counter Vitamin C serum Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream (Daytime, or at night when using the AHA/BHA resurfacing peel) Mad Hippie - Facial SPF, 30+ UVA/UVB Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen EARTH HARBOR - SIREN SILK Multi-Tasking Hydration Creme(on none resurfacing peel days) grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum (on none resurfacing peel days) Feedback on my routine is welcome!
Skin Journey & my updated routine
My acne is diminishing, though, like most people, I’ve been dealing with maskne. But the acne on my forehead is better. I’m noticing that my freckles are lighter too. I do have large pores, but the app seems to think my freckles are pores. My biggest concern right now is dryness and texture, especially as we get into winter. I’m noticing my skin is not as moisturized as I’d like and it looks a little rough. I’ve recently switched my moisturizer back to something more hydrating. My current routine AM- Wash face with water Toner - LUSH - Eau Roma Water I’ve used this before and it is a nice toner, but not the cleanest. Once it’s out, I’ll use something else, but it is hydrating. Beauty Counter vitamin c serum- seems to work great. Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream - I just switched back to this from a lighter day cream. I really need the moisture and this is a wonderful day cream. Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Beech Tree Bud Eyes Cream - I love this eye cream but I think I’m open to trying something else in the future. My fine lines around my eyes seem to be progressing more than I’d like. Mad Hippie - Facial SPF, 30+ UVA/UVB Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen Smells amazing and has a great rating on Think Dirty. It is a little heavy but my face likes the hydration. PM- Double cleanse with Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Transformative Cleansing Oil Beauty Counter’s Clear Pore Cleanser- really nice pore cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin and the little jojoba beads feel great. I’m going to be trying a more hydrating cleanser when this is empty but I highly recommend it for oily or combination skin. Toner- LUSH - Eau Roma Water Every second night- the Beauty Counter overnight resurfacing peel- amazing product! Very gentle and I see the difference right away. Last, I mix the grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum with my moisturizer (above). I also use beauty counter’s charcoal mask 1-2 times a week and as a spot treatment for acne. Eye cream again! I’m also interested in finding a good sleeping mask or night cream. Let me know if you have suggestions!
Rocking Retinol For My Huge Pores And Uneven Skin
Ingredient: Retinol Product: PETER THOMAS ROTH - Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum I discovered this product while looking for retinol reviews on YouTube. I came across two YouTubers who were both raving about Peter Thomas Roth Retinol night serum. Retinol promises to help the renewal of your skin’s upper surface to reveal a younger, healthier skin layer. It also helps in shrinking huge pores, tighten it, and even out skin tone. Sounds too good, right? I checked this serum online and I was lucky to see that it’s 50% off so I didn’t think twice, and immediately purchased it. This product is light, clear, almost like water. It feels like light oil on my face when I apply it. On nights when I use it, I start off with my usual double cleanse routine, then I wait for an hour for my face to be completely dry before I apply this on. It’s integral that your face is 100% dry as retinol apparently reacts with water so make sure that when you use retinol products, you wait long enough for your face to be totally dry. I started using this about 2 weeks ago, and I use it very sparingly as I also use Biologique Recherche Lotion P50T. They’re both acid-based so I try to be super careful so as not to introduce too much acid on my face. I’ve seen a massive difference in my skin’s texture but I notice that when I use this, I get a small pimple the next morning. Maybe it’s the reaction of my skin to this product and the Lotion P50T. I haven’t noticed any difference in the size of my pores but my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth. Love this and will continue using it.

Oils for acne
Recently, I have been on a beauty oil kick. My skin ranges from normal to dry and I seek hydration in any product I can. Sometimes, my skin can become acne prone if I’ve been stressing out, so I wanted to find an oil that hydrates the skin but also aids in reducing blemishes without irritating sensitive skin. A lot to ask for from an oil, huh? BUT, I think I’ve found it ☺️ The Beauty Foundry Tea Tree Beauty Oil caught my eye due to its claims and it’s price! Here is some background: “The Beauty Foundry Tea Tree Beauty Oil effectively clarifies and balances blemish-prone complexions with the purifying benefits of Tea Tree and Rosemary. The breakthrough formula contains a detoxifying blend of botanicals and the highest concentration of Tea Tree to refresh and rejuvenate for toned, hydrated skin. Skin is instantly balanced and purified to help pores look smaller and discourage excessive oil production. At The Beauty Foundry, we take pride in bringing you functional, results-driven formulations. All of the ingredients are consciously sourced, creating clean, non-toxic, nutrient-rich beauty products that effectively address a multitude of skin concerns. *No Parabens, No Silicones, No GMO’s, No Animal Cruelty* Features & details * Uniquely formulated with effective ingredients for acne-prone skin * Helps to clarify, balance, and detoxify stressed complexions * Helps diminish the appearance of pores, blemishes, and uneven skin tone * Nourishes to support clear, healthy looking skin * Infused with Tea Tree, Rosemary, Squalane, Coconut, and Vitamin E” I have been using this product for two-ish weeks and I have been impressed so far. The facial oil is hydrating and soothing to my skin. It clarifies and balances my complexion in a gentle way. I have seen a decline in my blemishes, as well, which is very promising! I like that this product is gentle and that it nourishes my skin. The consistency of this oil is not too thick and not too thin. It is that perfect in-the-middle-of-the-road consistency. The fragrance and scent of the tea tree and rosemary is very pleasant, as well. Overall, I do recommend this product because it shows results and it is gentle. I like how affordable this oil is. It ranges from $6-$14 for 2fl oz depending on where you purchase it. The oil can be found at Amazon and at Tjmaxx. I think that it is worth the price. This product has my stamp of approval and a 5/5 star rating from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
BeautyBio Retinol ✨
Honestly this has entirely transformed my skin (gifted) and I use this after dermarolling, which has done so much for my acne scarring. Retinol is a great acne treatment, it really works for me. It’s also ingredient known to stave off wrinkles as it renews skin cells overnight to leave you glowing in the morning. I’ve been using it for a month or so now but Ive used BeautyBio retinols in the past. This trio is expensive but it’s so lovely as it’s a set regime that gets stronger with use. Other retinols have left me broken out in small, red sensitized bumps, but I never have with this amazing formula/dosage. However the $150 price tag means I really wouldn’t recommend this to just anyone. Depends on a budget. A cheaper alternative I think could be the Retinol 0.5% in squalane from The Ordinary! Purging but still Glowing !! ✨✨
JOSIE MARAN - Argan Smooth Skin Resurfacing Serum Hello beauties!!! 😘😘😘 I wanted to share this product I have been using consistently for the past weeks, it’s the resurfacing serum that has helped me so much with my dryness but it has also caused my skin to purge, I found out that this is totally normal when it comes to serums like these, your skin needs to first “resurface” all the bacteria and push it out before it can reveal glowing beautiful skin ✨ I’m still using it and slowly clearing up, but my skin is visibly more vibrant and dewy! If you are new to resurfacing serums do not be afraid when you start to have major breakouts! It means it’s working ! Your skin needs to decongest and the serum is working by penetrating deep into your skin! I would definitely recommend this serum! 🙌🏼💕💕💕

CSLA Anti Aging Serum
This is the anti-aging serum sold at Corrective Skincare! This serum with pure retinol improved the appearance of my pores while preventing breakouts. A thick layer of this serum provided lots of moisture while firming and plumping my skin, I’ve seen amazing results especially under my eyes. It is great for most skin types, but if you have sensitive skin, I’m not sure how you’d incorporate this retinol 0.5 in your routine. This serum has a lot help with some discoloration. I’m not saying toss out your vitamin C products, but I did notice brightening! Because the ingredients have no preservatives, it’s best that this product is kept in the fridge. I was informed that outside of the fridge the self life is 2-3 months, in the fridge 4-6months. It retails for $64 which I find pretty average for good retinol products, but there are brands like The Ordinary and The Inkey List that provides GREAT quality for a fraction of the price. I loved using this product after a dermal infusion treatment because it was like the best in making sure I was heavily hydrated! I want to look into another anti-aging, maybe from Paula’s Choice.
CBD Addicted 🙋♀️
Ok, so I’ve only just received this via Influenster but I did a big happy dance when it arrived! One, I’ve always wanted to try Perricone MD and two, give me everything and anything with CBD! First off let me say that CBD is a hot topic (buzz word) right now. There have not been enough studies done to determine the benefits as a topical skincare ingredient but I personally will be a fan of choosing products with natural healing agents every single time. A little research will tell you that our bodies produce a naturally-occurring cannabinoids called endocannabinoids (they’re not at all related to the cannabis plant). There purpose is to support your skin’s endocannabinoid system, a complex network that’s job is to keep your skin in homeostasis—that is, a happy, healthy, and balanced state. When this system is out of whack, well, so is your skin. Your complexion may be irritated, oily, dry, blemish-prone, or even itchy. Again, more studies need to be done but what is believed CBD can do for your skin is: Slow the signs of aging Soothe your complexion Balance the skin I highly encourage you to read Perricone’s blog on CBD: https://www.perriconemd.com/blogs/forever-young-blog/why-cbd-in-skincare-is-the-next-big-thing I don’t feel you have to spend a fortune for a good quality product but when it comes to CBD I do insist on a high quality brand that has third party testing done. I personally have finally found a tincture I can trust that’s been working to help me with pain, anxiety and sleep issues. Perricone MD - Hypoallergenic CBD Sensitive Therapy Rebalancing Elixir is formulated with 99% pure Cannabidiol (CBD), this gentle, soothing elixir is designed to visibly hydrate, smooth texture and even skin tone for supple and radiant skin. Rebalances skin to its ideal pH level, leaving it feeling soft and smooth, looking healthy and refreshed. My first impressions are wonderful! I love it! It says to shake the bottle twice, pat your hands together and then gently press onto the face. It has just a tiny bit more of a consistency than water which is helpful transferring it from the hands to the face; it’s doesn’t seep out as fast. It has no noticeable scent. I am so eager to try more of the Perricone MD line. Please let me know if you’ve tried anything. And I will be sure to be back with an updated review after I’ve had this in my routine for sometime. Much ❤️ @cheriefamily 🍒 #CherieCreator
