My Morning Skin Routine for Acne-Prone Skin
No one enjoys having a blemish. Or ten! It can be distracting and make you feel far less confident than you would normally be, so your A.M. skin routine is vital to your skin’s overall health. Tip for those with acne – When you sleep, your body repairs itself. This includes your skin! Your face creates the healthiest oils while we sleep, exuding oils that nourish the skin (the good kind of oils, even when you have oily skin and don’t think ‘good oils’ are possible!) When you over-wash your face, your skin will overcompensate by producing MORE oil! So only use minimal water in the morning, or none at all, to keep some of those healthy-restorative-night-oils throughout the day. By doing this regularly, you will see: · Less breakouts · Less oil production · And healthier skin that glows naturally! With this in mind, I gently pat my face with some water and then apply these products: ❤️Fresh Lotus Anti-Aging Moisturizer – Yes, this is intended for night-use, BUT! The reason I use this in the morning is that it is such a lightweight moisturizer. I love nighttime products because they are really meant to sit on your skin like frosting and do that repair-work I mentioned earlier. I simply allow this product to do that in the daytime! 😊 Price: $48.00 Reviews: 4.5-stars out of 1K+ reviews, 50K+ likes Scent: Floral and gentle, slightly peachy Best for Skin types: Normal, Dry, Oily, or Combination Used for: Dryness and wrinkles Note: You should apply the most concentrated product first, and then put heavier lotions on last. Next, I mix in my decadent oil from Herbivore, Phoenix Cell Regenerating. The Herbivore brand is one of my favorites because the products are vegan, high-quality, and magic on my acne! ❤️Herbivore Phoenix Cell Regenerating Just as the name describes, you will rise like a phoenix and greet the new day like a bird rising from the ashes!! This product is intended for morning use, so I use different oils at night by Herbivore (such as Lapis and Emerald, which are also highly effective for oily skin). Price: $88.00 Reviews: 4.5 out of 226 reviews, 30K+ likes Scent: Orchid, floral, rosehip oil, sea buckthorn oil Best for skin types: All skin types, great for dry skin too Used for: Firmness, wrinkles, and moisturizing Lastly, I lather on my sunscreen from Meaningful Beauty with SPF 30. SPF 30 is the ideal sunscreen level for protection against UVB and UVA rays, with any higher SPF actually doing very little. ❤️Sunscreen is vital girls! It protects us from aging prematurely and getting the fine lines we don’t want. Lather on your sunscreen like butter and be LIBERAL about how much you apply! This product is created by Cindy Crawford using her age-defying melon formula. It also protects against blue-light emissions caused by our screen time (phones, computer screens, etc.) these also cause fine lines to appear, so this product is a real miracle worker! Price: $65.00 Reviews: not listed Scent: Creamy sunscreen (not oily or shiny) Best for skin types: All skin types Used for: Sun protection, blue light emission protection, anti-aging, and fine-lines. With this trio at work, I am ready to face the day and put my best face forward! Keep shining, baby loves!

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰

🌱RATING HERBIVORE FACIAL OILS 🌱
Hey everyone, I wanted to do a quick little review on my experience with these three herbivore facial oils! My number one was the HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin . This is the only one of these three I would repurchase, it has a very distinct sweet herbal smell that has grown on me so much to the point were I find it absolutely delightful now. It isn’t for everyone, especially at first but if you like it I promise you will end up loving it. The full size goes for $94 for 50ml but will last you ages since you only need 3-4 drops at a time. The blue tansy oil which gives this facial oil it’s bright blue colour helps reduce redness and clear completions with its anti inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It also has a sedative effect which can help reduce stress, tension and anxiety. This is my all time favourite facial oil, and is now a total staple in my skincare collection. Next is the HERBIVORE - Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Face Oil for Dry Skin this oil is just a little too expensive for me at $115, anything above $100 is where I draw the line especially when there are so many other more affordable rosehip based oils on the market. This definitely smells floral, rose dominant, with a little soft citrus - it’s very hydrating and soothing. I’m glad I tried it but price is the main reason why I wouldn’t repurchase. And lastly HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil I’m sorry... this is not for me. It may be for some but not me haha. It seriously reminds me of my grandmas bathroom - a constant overwhelming potpourri smell. It’s $84 for a full size and I’d 10/10 recommend spending the extra $10 and snag the lapis oil instead! If you like some not so delicate, feminine florals this might be for you but if you are scent sensitive this could just be a headache. Have you tried these oils? Do you agree, disagree?! Let me know your thoughts ✨💛
Luxurious velvet oil for dry skin. 🥀
-Hello! Thanks for clicking on my post! 🥰- Today I am reviewing the HERBIVORE - Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Face Oil for Dry Skin which was gifted my @cherie! Thank you for this little gift I really enjoyed this product. 😋 This luxury oil is a blend of botanical and CoQ10 (a nutrient that occurs natural in the body). It serves to hydrate and revitalize the skin in need of replenishment and deep renewal. What are the ingredients? Rose hip oil: Natural rich in omega fatty acids 3,6 and 9 to visibly plump skin. Also high in trans-retinoic acid (vitamin a). Sea Buckthorn oil: The richest natural source of Beta Carotene (vitamin A) and rare Omega 7. Cheaseed CO2: An excellent natural source of alpha lipoic acid (antioxidant). Meadow Foam oil: Works to lock the moisture into the skin. Neroli Oil: Natural Brightens the appearance of the skin. Claims: To be an anti- aging To combat dryness And dullness Personal experience: This is such an effective moisturizer oil that helped me so much during this dry weather of winter. It is long lasting, and it brights my skin during the day. The scent is quiet a mild botanical smell, there is not added fragrance at all. The texture is like a medium- weight oil. It suits every skin, because I am combination skin and it adapted to my oily and dryness skin so well, and my mom has a dry skin, and it helped her to brighten her skin and to keep her hydrated during the night as well. I think this is such a good oil, but it didn’t make me feel like “wow”. However, my mom did like it a lot. It is targeted as an anti-aging product so I think it is more for a mature skin. Let’s talk about the price. A full size product is $88.00 USD. Seems pricey uh? But I read in many reviews that this big bottle lasts them a year if it’s used daily. Now, it does seem like a fair price for the long lasting product. I might add this as a Christmas present for my mom. ☺️ I hope you enjoyed my review! 💖 Enjoy your day!
HADALABO - Rohto Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist This is an intense hydrating toner from Hada Labo that has hyaluronic acid in it. It replenishes moisture and locks it in. This is for everyone and extremely popular in Japan. There they call this a lotion but in western terms this is what we call a toner. It’s quite a thick one compared to others, as the normal toners I’ve tried are close to water consistency. This was my holy grail toner for a really long time! It’s super hydrating and really helped my skin to become what it was when it was at its best. You wake up with supple and soft skin every day. If you’re diving into j-beauty I truly recommend this one! It’s super affordable as well and Hada Labo is such a great brand.
HADALABO-Rohto Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist
boscia cactus water
hands down the best moisturizer for sensitive or oily skin- and here is why is works for both: it is scent free and designed for sensative skin (as all boscia products are) and is just light as air. and because it is so light yet so hydrating, you oily skin gals need this as well!!
Too Faced: stick to makeup
Let me preface this by saying the Too Faced hangover primer & setting spray are the primer and setting spray I reach for most often when doing my makeup. So, when they released a hangover skin care line, I was pretty stoked. This moisturizer contains jojoba oil, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid amongst other hydrating ingredients. The consistency is that of a regular day moisturizer but a bit thicker due to the sunscreen. Claims are that it’ll give you a dewy glow, leave no white cast, and fade dark spots and discoloration. I received 1 out of 3 of those claims. It gave me a dewy look, but it did give a slight cast, and has not, over time, faded my dark spots. Here’s why I gave it 3 stars: After the first use, I broke out horribly in places I’ve never broken out. First, I thought it was because it’s a chemical sunscreen, but the Coola Silk Drops are my HG sunscreen so I knew that couldn’t have been it. Have I sat down and took the time to go over the ingredients list to see what’s the cause? No. I just stopped using it. This review has reminded me that I need to do some research and see what was the cause of my breakouts. All in all, this could be a great sunscreen if it didn’t cause my acne prone skin to go berserk. Is it worth trying? Sure. Worth the price? No. It’s $34. You can find cheaper alternatives. It’s got some fairly good ingredients and i did enjoy the dewy skin it gave me. Take it from me and do your research before purchasing ANYTHING!
Too Faced-Hangover Good to Go Skin Protecting SPF 25 Moisturizer
I love getting to try out all these different products, but even if I'm careful, sometimes I end up with irritated skin. iope derma gentle cica cream, I knew it would come in handy. Containing cypress leaf extract, not only does it help to soothe irritation, it also treats dryness and helps to strengthen the moisture barrier. You apply it after your serums/treatments, but before moisturizer/oil. It feels creamy yet light, and absorbs after a few minutes. I primarily use it at night, and I always wake up to super soft skin. It's become a staple whenever I use retinol or a resurfacing mask, and sometimes just when I feel I need an extra layer of hydration. It's free of fragrance, mineral oil, silicone, and parabens, so while you should still check the full ingredient list if you have sensitive skin, this seems quite promising! An amazing French pharmacy brand embryolisse brings us Lait-Creme Concentre which is now the stuff of legend... Enriched with essential fatty acids and vitamins, this 3-in-1 lotion is amazing at nourishing areas of dryness and even protects from environmental aggressors. It’s light in texture and quickly absorbed but skin instantly feels hydrated and plump! It’s also an amazing base/primer for foundation which is what has made it famous behind the scenes of the fashion runways... I’ve been using it since the weekend in the mornings and love it and I’m sure you’ll see it pop up as a regular in my routines 💙

My Fav Sunscreen: Avène & La Roche-Posay
First of all, my skin type is combo/dry, so here are the sunscreens that i love to use daily. Avène Hydrance Optimale Hydrating CreamAvène - Hydrance Optimale SPF 25 Hydrating Cream There are four versions for the Avène's Hydrance series: Regular light, regular rich, UV light and UV rich. I have used all four of them before. I don't like the regular versions so I stopped using them after a while. But the UV versions are amazing! Although we know that daily use of sunscreen is important, we don't need a sunscreen with high SPF levels for our daily activities since a higher SPF is actually more of a burden to our skin. This product with an SPF of only 20 meets our needs perfectly! It combines moisturizing cream and sunscreen together very well. I'll use the rich version in winter and the light version for all the other seasons. It feels great on my face! There's no greasiness or dryness that comes with ordinary sunscreens. la roche posay anthelios xl shaka fluid I use this when I need high-level UV protection. It feels good on my face as it's absorbed quickly, isn't greasy, doesn't make my skin dry nor does it ball up.
