For all you oily people 😌
✨I live in the tropics, so my oily skin tends to get more oily and dewy with the heat and humidity here. I bought this moisturizer because I needed one that wouldn’t just sit on my face and make me look even oilier. ✨This product is specifically aimed for people on the oilier side. It is very hydrating, watery, and lightweight. It’s a gel cream that is formulated with hyaluronic acid, sea water, and antioxidants to provide a good dose of hydration. ✨WHAT I LIKE MOST: This makes my skin look MATTE, thanks to an ingredient called maltodextrin. It really feels like a makeup primer. It has other ingredients that make the product truly feel VELVETY once it’s applied on my skin. I could not believe how soft and matte it made my skin look when I first tried it. Lastly, this has other great ingredients in the formulation like coconut fruit juice, extracts from red algae, marine based polysaccharides to soothe skin, among the other goodies!!!! ✨THE BAD: I had to stop using this product because it started to burn around the corners of my nose and around my eyes. This tends to be a sensitive area for me, but when a product literally feels like it’s burning, you MUST take it off and stop using it. The same thing happened to me with the Naturium eye cream, which I also loved, but also had to stop using 🥺. I’m really not sure what is causing this, but I reached out to the brand and am waiting for a reply about any possible irritating ingredient in both of these products. I am resetting my skin routine at the moment because I was thissss close to ruining my skin barrier. So once I feel my skin is healthy enough, I’ll give this product another try. Maybe it won’t burn anymore if my skin is all healed and strong. 🤞 ✨OVERALL: This is a great product for oily skin, the formulation is great, and the price ($20) is pretty good. I’d recommend this if you are looking for a new moisturizer and tend to be on the oilier side. NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream

update skincare routine for fungal acne!
yay updated skincare routine! these past few months i had been getting these crazy breakouts on my forehead, but after a switching some products, my skin has been thriving! cleanser although i love the CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser, i found that i would irritate my skin a bit and i decided to switch over to my favorite fa safe gentle cleanser ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser serums dont get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE the NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%this was my second bottle of it but once i ran out i decided to finish up the PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serumso it wouldn’t be lying around in my skincare stash. but i still much prefer the naturium serum over peach and lily. essence i wanted to incorporate an exfoliating step in mu routine sence i had drop the SA cleanser. so i thought the ISNtree - Clear Skin 8% AHA Essencewould be a perfect fit in my routine. i use this serum every other day. treatment of course i have my holy grail Curology - Curology formulawith azelaic acid, clindamycin, and zinc pyrithione, this is the one product i will never get rid of moisturizer i think the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Creamis an all around good moisturizer. its fungal acne safe however it wasn’t moisturizing enough nor did it prevent breakouts. i was previously using the NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Creambefore but had temporarily stopped using it. although its not fungal acne safe, this moisturizer hasn’t caused any breakouts and is just so luxurious. and cheaper 😳 masks ive had this DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Masksince last christmas, and since december is comming soon, i want to use this mask up as quickly as possible because baby this wasn’t cheap. i use this on the weekends in place of my exfoliating essence. oil / occlusive in my last routine i was using Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectanton my cheeks for the evening but switched to The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalaneoils because i felt that it absorbed nicely and didn’t leave my poor pillow so mf greasy sunscreen i love love love love the FACE HALO - MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++but i wanted to try something new and something more accessible to me so i tried the Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50and aaahh its an ok sunscreen but not as good as the missha one micellar water i would always buy the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover( blue) and i love it its great but i wanted to switch it up and use the pink one. its ok but i think the blue one works better. comment which products you love for fungal acne!! like and share! xo melanie 💗
Naturium Favorites for Oily/Acne Prone Skin!
Hi all! So Naturium is a new and interesting skincare brand that has faced some controversy in recent months. If you don’t know about it, the founder had been plugging and posting about it in her skincare vlogs, only to later announce it was actually her brand. Do I think it was shady, or maybe unethical? Yeeeah. HOWEVER... letting the products speak for themselves... I flipping love Naturium. They are beautifully sourced and formulated, and not to mention, effective! They’re also packaged really luxuriously, and all for extremely reasonable prices! Here are some of my favorites I’ve talked about in previous posts, but more in depth. NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% Okay, if there’s one thing from this post that you MUST HAVE for oily skin, it is this Niacinamide serum from Naturium. I use it every single day and night. Oh my goodness. It has curbed my extreme oiliness remarkably! And the additional zinc is anti-bacterial, so another amazing ingredient for acne. It’s super gentle, glides on smooth, and absorbs amazingly. Niacinamide also works fine with other actives so it’s wonderful to layer! Naturium has got a WINNER here! Oh yeah, and I just repurchased it way before my current one runs out so I don’t have to go a single day without it ($16 by the way, super affordable in my opinion)! NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum Naturium also has a great Vitamin C serum I use every other morning (when I’m not using a BHA). I love this one, and can actually see a difference in my skin with the higher percentage in this formula! It’s brightening and glowy, and makes me look awake in the morning! It’s also got Vitamin E which helps boost the Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic Acid for extra kick of hydration. This is a nice one if you have oily skin — it comes in a dropper but it’s not greasy or clogging at all! The only thing I would say is that it can be a tad sticky, however, I’ve found that most Vitamin C’s (at least in my experience) are sticky. This one isn’t as much so! Also affordable I would add, retailing at $20. NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream Naturium’s Marine Water cream is one of my favorite moisturizers in my arsenal at the moment! It feels like a gel moisturizer (so great for oily skin) but a little more hydrating and not as slick (than maybe compared to Farmacy’s Daily Greens — also on my profile). It’s a beautiful smooth texture, probably my most favorite so far! I use this every single night and it feels hydrating and light, but just rich enough to lock in my actives! It’s also got hyaluronic acid too! I’d put this stuff all over my body if I could!! I’ll definitely be repurchasing this one, especially since it’s so reasonably priced at $20.
Honestly loving the HONEST Hydrogel Cream
I really wish I could give this 4.5 stars. I have to say, at first I did not like this product. It’s different from my other gel creams in the way that you have to massage this in a little more. At first it looks like a thick white cream which really confused me because it doesn’t look like a gel cream. On top of that, it didn’t absorb into the skin instantly, it stayed a bit white as I applied it so I felt the need to work it into my skin a little more. But then as you massage it into your skin it turns into a more water-like texture that glides so easily over the skin. After trying it a couple times, I became a huge fan. The good: + Key ingredients include: two types of hyaluronic acid and squalane, which is second in the ingredients list which makes me happy. + Oil-free, fragrance-free, and overall just a nice, unalarming ingredients list. + Skin instantly looks so glowy and moisturized. And it stayed moisturized all day and all night. + Affordable and super accessible. I personally got mine at Shoppers Drug Mart. + Absolutely no breakouts / acne so far (I’m almost done the full jar). + I really love the feeling of putting this all over my neck, chest and shoulders - it just glides over the skin so easily and feels refreshing. The not so good: - As I said before you do have the massage this into your skin a little bit, it’s just smidgen more effort and it’s not like it instantly absorbs if you just dot it on. Worth it? It’s a bit more expensive than my go-to Hydro Boost gel cream, but honestly I see sales on this all the time, so it’s usually not by too much. I really do think the product is worth the price though. Will I repurchase? I will, but I do think this would be better for winter for me personally. I feel like if you have normal or dry skin, this could be a great summer or even anytime moisturizer. For my combo / oily skin, I don’t think I necessarily need this much moisture because it’s so humid where I live. So come next winter, for sure! Ps I have combination, acne prone skin :) Pps shout out to my boyfriend’s nerdy solar system poster in the background 🪐
It’s summer so I’m looking to switch to more gel and gel cream moisturizers to keep my skin hydrated but with a lightweight touch. I’ve been using the @versed dew point moisturizing gel cream for about 2 weeks now and it’s a perfect fit for my summer skincare routines. It’s packed with ingredients such as glycerin, green tea, aloe, squalane, jojoba seed oil, wheat germ oil, and sodium hyaluronate to provide the skin with a refreshing veil of hydration. This has a lightweight gel cream texture that dries down to a skin matte finish. This doesn’t pill and layers quite well under sunscreen for me. I mostly used this during the daytime as I prefer a much thicker more occlusive moisturizer in the evening. It’s a great daytime moisturizer but I don’t find that it provides a ton of hydration on it’s own since I found my skin craving for a bit more. The hydration I felt was more surface level but once I paired this with a more moisturizing sunscreen then I’m set for the entire day and my skin just feels adequate throughout the day. A small tip as to how I get the most from this is I spritz a bit of water onto my skin before applying to lock in as much hydration as possible. I found this to be the upgraded version of the neutrogena hydro boost gel cream since it contains a bit more extra ingredients. So if you like that one, you should give this a try. This is best for combo to oily skin types but I don’t think this anywhere near enough hydration and moisture for drier skin types. Oh there’s no fragrance in this so there’s no scent either. Overall, this is a fantastic summer time moisturizer for combo to oily skin types. You’ll feel hydrated but not greasy as the day goes on. It works great in the hot humid weather that I live in. I would definitely repurchase this in the future. Have you guys tried this yet? If so, any thoughts on it? Rating: 4/5 🌟 #CherieCreator #Versed
VERSED-DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream
Great Moisturizer for Oily/Combo Skin
Just wow! This cream is lovely! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream This cream is so light-weight and feels amazing on my skin. It’s creamy and smooth and absorbs so nicely. It’s great because you only need a dime size amount to feel completely moisturized and hydrated. This light-weight moisturizer is a gel. It has a really nice, light scent. Can’t quite put my finger on it but YTTP say “herbaceous” haha. This can be used in the AM or PM/both. Lately I’ve been using it twice a day because I’m becoming obsessed with it and how it makes my skin feel so hydrated and soft. Ingredients: + Kale + Spinach + Green tea + Alfalfa + Vitamins C, E, K + Kale is rich in vitamins C, E, & K + Green tea contains nourishing antioxidants + Hyaluronic acid, as we all know, has moisture-retaining properties __________________ This moisturizer is perfect for combination or oily skin. I have “normal” skin and I still love it; especially if I have an oily patch or a dry patch here and there. While this retails for $63 CAD for just 60 mL, I think I would definitely purchase this size and recommend trying it if you get the chance. ✨A tip from YTTP: because this cream is so light-weight and absorbs quickly, it makes for a great primer for makeup :)

Why I LOVE Hyaluronic Acid in my Moisturizers
I have been loving this FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya it is the perfect gel moisturizer. I have oily/combo skin so gel consistencies are the best for my skin type. This product is like a drink of water for your skin. This product is packed with so many amazing ingredients like Moringa Seed Extract, Papaya Extract, 4 types of Hyaluronic Acid and Polyglutamic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is one of my all time favorite ingredients in skincare, it is so hydrating. I find it is so essential no matter what skin type you have. It keeps your skin glowy, fresh, bouncy and hydrated. This product is perfect for that! I found this product straight from Farmacy, it’s a new release and it is so worth every single penny! I love using this with my PM routine and it’s also PERFECT for under makeup since it sinks in so easily. Only downside is there is a strong fragrance so this may not be suited for sensitive skin, but I personally love the scent!

Part 2: my quest for the perfect gel moisturizer
I tried 7 different gel moisturizers so you don’t have to! Part 2/3 (Parts 1 and 3 are on my page) Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream Liah Yoo is my skinfluencer bae and I really trust her recommendations and her brand. I wanted to love this moisturizer since it has so few ingredients and is supposed to be great for oily skin, but sadly it was just not moisturizing enough for me. I tried it everyday on my face for about a month in all different ways—after many hydrating layers of toners/essences/serums, with a moisturizing sunscreen on top, mixed with Squalane oil, applied it in multiple layers—and still my face would feel tight and dry after a few hours. Sometimes parts of my face would be peeling by the end of the day too. The texture of this product is beautiful, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a water cream and is scent less. I would recommend this if you have very oily skin, but otherwise I don’t think it will be occlusive enough. Dr.G - RED-BLEMISH Clear Cream This is another product I purchased after seeing it in one of Liah’s favorites videos. I also really wanted to love this product. It has an amazing ingredients list with lots of soothing, moisturizing ingredients like glycerin and cica. The texture is a super lightweight watery gel, and it sinks nicely into the skin. However, I had the same problem with this product as I did with the Krave Oat So Simple. Though I did not experience any peeling with this product, it was not occlusive enough and I would feel tight and dry after a few hours. However, I would still recommend this to anyone with oily skin or people who live in a hot and humid climate. The ingredients are amazing and it didn’t worsen my acne. ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream I read and watched rave reviews about the Etude House Soon Jung line and how it was formulated for sensitive skin. The texture of this cream is more like a gel-cream, I would say. It’s smooth, white, and scentless. However, I had the opposite problem with this cream where I felt like it was too occlusive for me. Like the Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel-Cream, this product also felt like I had a thin layer of Vaseline on my skin. Especially after applying sunscreen, my face felt a little sticky/tacky and looked pretty greasy. The grease does fade after a while, but the tacky occlusive feeling did not fade for me. My boyfriend, who has extremely dry skin, has been using this cream as a daytime moisturizer and his skin loves it. But I would not recommend it to people who have combo or oily skin. Stay tuned for Part 3 of my gel moisturizers review!
Krave-Oat So Simple Water Cream
A winner for oily skin
I’ve been working my way through this sample of the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer and wanted to let you all know what I thought (+snap some picks before it’s completely gone 😂). I subbed this into my morning routine in place of my regular YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream about two weeks ago and have been very impressed with it! I’ll probably stick with my yttp moving forward because my skin is a tiny bit drier, but this moisturizer would be a hero product if I was even a little bit oilier. From Biossance: calms and reduces redness leaving skin more balanced 💚 improves and maintains hydration 💚 reduces the appearance of pore size Ingredient highlights: -probiotics (help with redness) -squalane (biossance’s star product that is an amazing hydrator) -red seaweed (for stressed skin) -ginger extract (for redness and irritation) -cress sprouts (have people heard of this?!?! It’s new to me! Anyway, according to biossance it brightens and evens skin tone) From me: -gel texture with a faintly medicinal scent that sinks in immediately -feels very lightweight and fresh on my face with no dryness -very soothing, calming moisturizer. I didn’t use it long enough to tell, but I definitely believe that this would help with redness -ok so having spent my life looking for a lightweight moisturizer I never thought I’d say this, but this is too light for me! If I had super oily skin though, I would be all over the full size, but with my combo skin I would use this only for summer mornings when I’m the oiliest Have you tried this moisturizer? Is there another gel moisturizer you love?!
