Dr.Bronner’s to Wash Brushes🧼🥴| #CheriePartner
Whenever I wear makeup I like to use a lot of it, and doing my favorite glam looks takes a lot of makeup, tools and sponges. I’ve used spot cleaners before and they are cool for those in between uses. If your looking for a a DEEP clean for your brushes you ONLY need these two products & ( your makeup brushes ofc ). In a previous post, i spoke about my upcoming black owned makeup brush company & I use this same method to wash my brushes as my personal ones before hand. i use DR. BRONNER'S - All-One Hemp Peppermint Castile Bar Soap to wash my brushes with a SIGMA - Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove . These two get A L L brushes cleans no matter how dirty they are. Now your probably wondering Dr.Bronner’s really 🤔 but YES, they do say you can use this soap for over 100 different uses! so why wouldn’t makeup brushes be one of them 🙂. It’s too harsh on the brushes AND I use the peppermint one so it makes them smell 😍afterwards. I use to use the liquid soap, but i switched to the bar because it last longer and i have more control on how much soap i use on each brush. I love using the SIGMA - Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove because it has several different textures to lather and rinse your brushes with & also gently enough to use on sponges. I myself would like to create something similar for my brand but that would be a little further down the line 😉. A little goes a long way with the these products so use with a light hand!
A cheap scrub that works!🖤
I had impulsively bought the Freeman Charcoal+ Black Sugar Scrub🖤, however it was a very good buy🥰. You can get it for about 4 dollars at almost any department store or drug store and at such a low cost, so you're not losing much if it doesnt work for you. It manages to exfoliate my skin, leaving it silky smooth without drying out my face or irritating it AND it gives my skin a nice glow afterwards. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone who doesnt want to commit to cheap scrubs⭐ Make sure not to over exfoliate because it could lead to some skin irritation Some Ingredients Include activated charcoal ginger root extract coconut extract papaya extract kelp extract sandalwood extract lavender extract
Love it $$
I absolutely love Freemans as a brand because they’re inexpensive and you get more than what you’re paying for. This was actually my first product from the brand itself, At the time I was obsessed with anything and everything charcoal and on the hunt for a new facemask so this was a perfect fit. The added black sugar was something I was willing to give a try. This product also doubles as a scrub. my skin felt so CLEAN. My pores felt unclogged and overall I noticed my skin even looked a little brighter. These days, this mask is my go-to when my pores feel like they can’t breathe due to a dirty atmosphere, hot weather that builds up sweat or just an excessively long day of wearing makeup. I try to use it once or twice a week, but it all depends on choice. I would recommend this to anyone who wears makeup most days out of the week or is in an environment which can cause excessive oils and dirt to build up in their pores. It’s the perfect product to make you and your face feel squeaky clean after a long day. FREEMAN - Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask
Not My Favorite Cleanser
I really love this cleanser! This lightly cleanses your skin and I feel it doesn’t remove all the oil off your skin with realizing some of that oil is still needed while still removing the dirty and unnecessary oil 🎃- this has fragrance in it. Which is not a nice benefit in my opinion as it CAN lead to skin irritation but if it works for your skin work it! There’s no long term downfalls so far to using this product although personally I would use a different cleanser Review- This cleanser I got as a sample at Ulta and I really like it! I normally use a heavy duty cleanser like African black soap but this one I really love also! I recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin because it is really nice and not too rough on skin Rating- I gave this a 5 star because it really does everything it says it’ll do and gives you a nice clean feeling Purchasing- I could see myself buying this in the future but after this is gone I probably will stick with my black soap. Not because I dislike it! Just my preference (:MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
Battle of the Face Cleansers
My skin type is combo oily that can lean more dry during the weather changes or just randomly. My skin concerns are acne, oiliness throughout the day and also dehydration. I’ve ranked the face washes I currently have open right now based on how they worked for me personally (starting from favorite). My all time favorite is COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser because I can actually tell a difference in my skin, unlike the other cleansers and can be used AM and PM. . COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser Key Ingredients: Tea Tree and Beta Hydroxy Acids (work together to refine pores, control oil, and soften skin). Texture/Consistency: Gel that turns to foam Scent: Very strong Tea Tree scent Price: $14 for 5.07 oz Experience: I use this as my AM cleanser and it does a good job of removing the previous night’s skincare and having a new base for my AM skincare. It foams a lot, so only need a small amount of product. Since I’ve been using this, my face has gotten more smooth and not as oily throughout the day. I knocked off a star since the scent is so strong of tea tree. Repurchase/Recommend?: I will repurchase this and recommend this because it’s a great value and only need a small amount of product. My combo oily skin also agrees with this formula, I’m so excited to use it this summer and see how and if it helps my skin. . MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Foaming Cleanser Key Ingredients: Glycolic acid (exfoliates the skin and dissolves dulling dead skin cells to help refine pores and retexturize uneven skin), and a soothing blend of chamomile, marshmallow, safe, St. John’s wort, and yarrow extracts (work together to provide additional rejuvenating benefits that help re-balance and leave skin radiant). Texture/Consistency: Gel that turns to foam Scent: Price: $16 for 6 oz / 177 mL Experience: I use this maybe 2-3 times a week (as directed for oily skin) and haven’t noticed much of a difference in my skin. It performs just like any other cleanser to me. I use it as my second cleanse and it’s just meh. Honestly not impressed with this and glad I got it as a free sample. Repurchase/Recommend?: I would not repurchase or recommend this, I haven’t noticed any special benefit over any other cleanser. . philosophy - Clear Days Ahead Oil-Free Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Cleanser Key Ingredients: Salicylic Acid (helps prevent breakouts). Texture/Consistency: Gel Scent: Very strong orange scent Price: $22 for 8 oz Experience: Even after using this a couple times a week as my second cleanse at night, I’ve only seen a minimal amount of reduction in my acne and can’t contribute it solely to this. The scent is so strong that I can smell it for a while after washing my face. It can be difficult to completely wash off the face. Repurchase/Recommend?: No, too expensive for what it does.
*** don’t mind my broken nails😭 Just an update for you gals! I stopped using all products because I was going to start using CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser so I wanted to give my skin a small break! Tonight I am going to use my MARIO BADESCU - MARIO BADESCU Whitening Maskjust because that’s the only mask I have right now🙈 Drop mask suggestions in the comments plz!!♥️ Love & light✨
Casper the Ghost
I’d rather get coal than the Whitening and Flower & Tonic Mario Badeacu face masks. I received these in a set of 3 masks and the price was excellent - $10 total when each mask is over $20. However, the residue and white cast these masks left on my face was so uncomfortable I kid you not I felt like Casper the friendly ghost. Each of these masks are intended to brighten the skin and provide oil control/balance skin hydration. Unfortunately, I did not see any of those benefits and I’ve used these in their entirety. I have a rating of 2 stars because these the texture of the masks are lovely and it feels soothing to the skin. I realize that these products also may work well for someone else, but I did not enjoy using them at all.
Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if it’s related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night? The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face
My favorite body products & scents of 2020!
I’m a huge fan of vanilla-Esque, musky scents, and on the flip side I love very clean scents. That being said here are my favorite body products & Scents! LUSH - American Cream Shower Gel which I pair with the matching perfume LUSH - American Cream Perfume . This stuff is straight up the most delicious scent. 🤤 It’s fresh, yet at the same time has a bit of sweeter scent that reminds me of vanilla, despite it being strawberry and orange. I always smell so good with these products and the perfume lasts pretty much all day! I’m also enjoying #Lush - Honey I Washed the Kids Shower Gel[products]#[FiveStars] , the scent is so yummy and sweet, and in the shower it takes on a warmer, more toffee-honey scent. I love to pair it with Maison Margiela - ’REPLICA’ By The Fireplace , which Is ALL the musk and vanilla I could possibly need. This stuff transports me to a big bonfire roasting marshmallows. It’s so hard to describe, but it smells amazing. It’s very strong, so If you’re sensitive to scents just keep that in mind. #Shiseido - Hadasui Skin & Body Lotion[products]#[FiveStars] this has almost no scent and has a watery consistency. I like to apply it all over my body and then follow up with Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil on my dry spots (elbows, knees, etc.) I personally love the smell of bio oil and I also love how light the Hadasui is, it hydrates without making the skin on my body feel sticky. My staple perfume that I’ve been using for years are #Soap & Paper Factory - Vanilla Fleur Roll-On Perfume Oil[products]#[FiveStars] which has the richest vanilla-bourbon scent, I’ve gotten compliments for years whenever I wear this! It just smells so good and lasts all day, the product lasts a long time (about 1 yr I have to buy a new one), and it comes at an affordable price point. 💕 So there they are! My 2020 Body Care Faves. What are some of yours?
Now exiting my skin care routine
I saw this product get really hyped up, so I said “ok, $7 ain’t bad so let’s try it out” I don’t think my skin got better or worse to be honest. But for the last 2 weeks I broke out baaaaaaad. The product didn’t help. What did help was the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin (it’s gooooood) Some things I didn’t like: I didn’t like how the serum feels so sticky. didn’t do any brightening to my skin. For brightening try MARIO BADESCU - Vitamin C Serum (it actually works) didn’t help with my breakouts RUNS OUT TOO FAST. I would only use 1 pump, and it’s run out quicker than any other product I’ve used before. Every skin is different. The product is less than $10 dollars so it’s affordable.
My skin improves when I don’t wash it??
Hi there! I’ve been into skincare pretty heavily in the last year. Ive struggled with hormonal and cystic acne since I was 4 (there’s pictures I swear!). While 2 rounds of accutane, age, and a hundred different regimens have made my skin a lot better today, I still get acne. I’ve experimented with serums, exfoliants, toners, cleansers, and the whole shebang and I thought I was doing it right. My routine: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin PM The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution every other PM BURT’S BEES - Natural Acne Solutions Clarifying Toner AM/PM The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% PM LUÉ by Jean Seo - BALANCE AM The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once a week/two weeks CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum PM pūrlisse - Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser AM MARIO BADESCU - Vitamin C Serum AM When I was away from home, I didn’t wash it at all except with makeup wipes and my skin cleared up!Its also stayed clear for almost 2 weeks now and I haven’t had skin this clear in 3 years! I have sensitive normal skin with an oily T-zone. Should I keep not washing my face?
Do’s and Dont’s Of Acne
There are many of things you should and shouldn’t do when it comes to acne. Knowing what to do and what not to do can help you avoid more breakouts, irritation and scarring when it comes to acne. 🎯What To DO 🎯 ✅Properly cleanse skin to remove bacteria and excessive oil. Cleanse face twice a day using a product that has salicylic acid, tea tree etc. Anti-Bacterial properties to reduce bacteria . ✅Moisture, many think with acne you shouldn’t moisturize because it’ll cause more breakouts and this is incorrect. Especially when you are using products that dry out the skin it’s important to put that moisture back in the skin keeping it balanced. 🌺Check out my skin type post under acne there is more info on what products you should use 🌺 ✅Skin Treatments like detoxifying mask, spot treatments etc. These will help to stop breakouts and heal breakouts that you already have. Treatments will help lessen scarring and really support the skin in healing. ✅DRINK WATER! Make sure to drink plenty of water flushes out toxins and keeps skin clear. ✅RELAX Stressing is no good for acne it just makes it worse. ✅PATIENCE tackling acne takes time , prepare yourself for the ride. ❌What To NO DO ❌ ❌Touching / Picking , your hands have bacteria and if you are constantly touching your face your adding more bacteria which equals to more breakouts. Picking will cause irritation and can also lead to scarring. ❌ Too many products , you shouldn’t be using 10 products in your morning skincare routine. With acne less is better because you won’t over saturate the skin which can cause more breakouts. ❌Over use of acids and exfoliators, exfoliation is great for skin but over doing it with acne can irritate breakouts. ❌ Makeup 😩 there will def be a post about how to wear makeup with acne BUT throwing makeup over acne only makes it worse. It’s best to let the skin heal. Exfoliation 101 – Wisdom for Acne-Prone & Simultaneously Aging Skin
Exfoliation is a tricky but necessary aspect of properly caring for your skin. You may think that cleansing alone is doing the trick, but dead skin cells build up and need to be resurfaced for a more bright, rejuvenated, and glowing appearance. If you scrub too hard, the skin barrier will become inflamed or damaged. If you do not scrub at all, your skin becomes unevenly textured and dull in coloration. If you are battling adult-acne, you sadly can’t use many of the BEST anti-aging products. This is because the formulas are often too thick or concentrated, leading to increased blemishes. It is a confusing dance to learn the ins and outs of exfoliation, especially with the party of combination skin. But here are the tricks that worked for me! About my skin: · European/White/Cherokee Native American Ethnicity/background · Very acne-prone; cystic, scarring, uneven skin tone · Battling aging at the same time (age: 25) · Oily in some places, dry in others, very fun! One of my favorites is a product that I discovered in France a few Summers ago while living abroad (shipping worldwide) is the Deep Cleansing Exfoliator by Caudalie. Here is a bit about the regimen: · I use this product about twice per week, to avoid over-exfoliating and causing skin irritation (or more breakouts). · I use about a nickel-sized amount, pretty generously. You can use a pea-sized drop, whatever feels right! This simple and ‘whipped’ texture is very gentle while somehow feeling like gritty sand. Just as your face feels refreshed from saltwater and the beach, this formula feels like it is giving me a new layer of skin! A brighter, clearer, smoother, and healthier layer of skin!! This gritty product works deep yet somehow is lightweight like a cloud. It has dramatically enhanced the clarity of my skin and has been a real gamechanger. Thank goodness I do not have to fly to France every time I need it, or there would be trouble! Please note – This is simply what has worked for me as the best exfoliant used to date. What works for my skin may not work for your skin. There are mechanical, chemical, or topical exfoliations available on a crowded marketplace. To set honest expectations - You will have to experiment with different exfoliation products to find the right fit for your skin. Tips for exfoliation: · You have to find your own frequency. You can exfoliate every day, and this only works for some skin-types; for others, this can lead to increased breakouts. You want to preserve the natural Ph and balance of your skin, while still forcing it to regenerate new skin cells. · If you do exfoliate daily, do so GENTLY! · Do not use harsh exfoliants that have things like plastic microbeads, shells, volcanic rock, or accidental particles that get thrown into the natural concoction. These are commonly used in cheaply-made or under-researched products, leading to microtears in the skin. To avoid, purchase your product from a trusted and reputable skin-care brand. · Always moisturize afterward. Since my skin is acne-prone, I have to opt for oil-free options. Be very careful with chemical peels or mechanical options as they are literally peeling away a layer of the skin. Chemical peels can lead to scarring and infection, on top of the sheer pain. I personally recommend opting for a more gentle topical option, such as the Caudalie line for skin detoxification. Experiment slowly, and you will find the right regimen of products and frequency for your skin type. Starting early will always be better than starting late!

Different face wash and works best for your skin
Urban skin : So I’ve been trying the Urban Skin Rx bar for a while and with clearing pimple it does an amazing job but I noticed it was a bit harsh on my face when it comes to over drying I’ve tried all of them and the best one that worked for me was the red one ( for combination skin ) I do love this product I just hate when my fave feels dry. Dr. Bronners: I’ve only been trying this for a couple of days and it does amazing on my skin and doesn’t over dry it. I will be purchasing more. It is so gentle on my face and I have sensitive skin for the most part. Some days my skin is sensitive and some days it’s not and latley it’s been sensitive (because I have eczema) this his honestly amazing. Overall, you can’t go wrong with both they both help in their own ways it just depends on your skin type and what your skin needs.

Mud Mask for Healing Detoxing
I’ve tried a lot of mud masks but this is the only one that I’ve used which when wet is crazy gentle and heals things like burns, bug bites, redness, dryness, and irritation but when I let it dry it freaking detoxes the heck out of my skin and will kill any zit I have dead without leaving a scar for a century. The spas in Hungary use this mud medicinally and I totally get why. I’ve used it in my bath when I’m getting sick and 🛁 🦠 and just don’t get sick! I packed it into a really nasty in grown toe nail for a few days and the thing went away. I really do feel like this is a miracle. Since the mud is a powder I travel with it and it doesn’t count towards one of my liquids. It’s really easy to blend up. You just do 1:1 ratio of liquid or another gel or cream to the mud. I’ve mixed this mud with silver water, rose water, yogurt, gel masks, moisturizer, cream mask, balancing mists, and aloe. I’d stay away from acids and stuff like that. Think healing and hydrating for the blending ingredients. They also need to have some water in them. To keep it wet I drape a wash cloth, use wet paper towels, or wet gauze and layer it on. Thicker is better with this mask! I’ve even been known to start wet for 10min then let it dry for 5 to detox a little at the end. 👍 It’s really reasonably priced and I get a discount by putting in skinfitness when checking out so that makes this product even mite cost effective. Even at full price though it’s pretty economical. I know the other mud mask I use by Fresh is double the price and doesn’t work for as many things. Mud Puddle was originally sold for in grown hairs and to help maintain smooth skin. If your getting sugared, waxes, or struggling with in grown hairs I’d say be sure to look into their “Full Circle” system. This is just one of the pieces o use from it to help keep my skin healthy, clear, and radiant. #acnetreatment #cheriecreator #whatsinmybag .

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
