So You’re New to Skincare and Need a Routine
I will recommend products, brands, and explain a few things so you can create your own skincare routine! Skincare Brands: Here are a few trusted brands I recommend. Remember something that works for one person might not work for you. - CeraVe- you can get CeraVe from your local pharmacy or just from amazon. they aren’t expensive but still have great ingredients that are good for sensitive skin - Drunk Elephant- a more expensive brand but worth it. they are vegan, cruelty-free, and great for sensitive skin - Youth to the People- once again a more expensive brand but amazing products. they are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and great for sensitive skin - Krave- medium priced and sell super great serums. vegan, cruelty-free, and for sensitive skin - The Ordinary- sell cheap products with great ingredients! this brand is mostly for serums and acids. also cruelty-free - Paula’s Choice- medium priced products. most are serums, acids, and toners. also cruelty-free SPF: Sunscreen is a must! No matter your skin type or what products you use. It protects your skin from UV rays and lessens your chance of skin cancer. Some moisturizers have sunscreen in it already while others don’t. If they don’t, then you need to buy separate face sunscreen. Sunscreens can be physical or chemical. Here are the pros and cons: Chemical: - Absorbed Into skin - Thin and ideal for everyday use - Skincare ingredients added easily on top - Wait 15 minutes to be effective - Reapply every 2 hours or so Physical: - Sits on top of skin - Works immediately - Apply once - Thicker and heavier - Not waterproof Basic Skincare Parts: All skincare routines must have a cleanser, moisturizer, and some sort of sunscreen no matter your skin type or concerns. Use a cleanser 1-2 times a day and a moisturizer after. Here are my recommendations for cleansers and moisturizers. Cleansers/Face Wash: -CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanserthis is best for normal, dry, and combo skin. it leaves the face feeling soft and hydrated. -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skinthis is best for normal, oily, and combo skin. it’s gentle, effective, and removes oil without damaging the skin barriers. - CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinthis is for people who have acne! SA stands for salicylic acid. the acid goes into your pores and dissolves any dead skin cells clogging it. - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanserthis can be used for all skin types and is particularly good for acne. even if you don’t have acne I still recommend this product. it gives a deep cleanse to make sure your pores are completely clean. - fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Washgreat for all skin types. it removes all makeup, including mascara, as well as impurities, leaving your skin clean. Moisturizers: -DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Creama gel-like texture that absorbs into skin quickly. leaves it soft, hydrated, protected, and gives it a slight glow. great for sensitive skin! -FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydrationamazing for super dry skin and eczema. absorbs quickly into skin and leaves it soft. -CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30generally lightweight but still moisturizes well! good for acne and skin texture because it has niacinamide in it. still everyone can use it. has sunscreen already in it for the day. -CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotionsame product above except slightly thicker and without spf for night. - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishiamazing for sensitive, dry or combo skin. boosts skin’s hydration and won’t clog your pores. -Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream great hydrating moisturizer that is also a primer for makeup. for people with normal or dry skin. not for sensitive skin because it has fragrance in it. Acids/Serums: Acids and serums are for specific skin concerns such as acne, redness, blackheads, dullness, etc. Here are ones I recommend to everyone even if you are new to skincare! Use these after cleanser but before moisturizer. (Patch test before use.) Look on websites for instructions and make sure ingredients don’t conflict if you use multiple acids. - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%for people with acne, large pores, blackheads, and skin texture. honestly everyone can use this in their routine! -Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum does the same thing as above - PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterdoes the same thing as above - The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5hydrates the skin and makes it bouncy. gives it a glow. no matter your skin type or concerns you should use this! apply on damp skin - Krave - Great Barrier Reliefgreat for redness and irritation. will soothe the skin.

My Top 3 Glossier Skincare Products
Glossier is known for being dewy af, so unsurprisingly my favourite skincare products of theirs are all about moisture. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom ($12 USD/15 mL) Too glossy to be a skin salve for me, these serve as lip balms in my arsenal. And they’re my absolute favourite! They seal in moisture beautifully and for a long time, so I find them most effective if applied over a light moisturizer or their Bubblewrap cream. My two favourites are Cherry (the scent is delicious and the tint is subtle but cute) and Coconut (zero tint and subtle scent means my husband doesn’t complain if I kiss him wearing them), though tbh I’ve enjoyed every flavor I’ve tried. The tubes last a long time since I don’t have to reapply them often and the packaging is super cute, so they’re worth it in my book! Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer ($22 USD/50 mL) This is one of the lightest, creamiest moisturizers I own, with a simple, fragrance- and essential oil-free formula. I’d say alone it would suit normal/combo/oily skin best, but I enjoy it for how easily the cushiony cream layers under other moisturizers. It makes good on its claim to somehow disguise pores and their Perfecting Skin Tint applies beautifully over it. Good for those with sensitive skin and worth the price if you want to keep it basic. Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream ($26 USD/22 mL) This spreadable eye/lip cream contains humectants, emollients, and occlusives, as well as a peptide and some antioxidants to help bump up its nourishing and anti-aging capabilities. The creamy texture and quick absorption make it perfect before concealer, or before BDC to keep lips soft for hours. I’ll forever repurchase this cream to keep my lips soft!
RUN DOWN OF GLOSSIER MOISTURIZERS ❤️
Hey guys!! I felt like sharing my opinions about Glossier's priming moisturizers, since they aren't created equal, are for different skin types, and I want to explain how they're different from each other. Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer - best for normal skin and not oily skin, since it leaves lots of oil in the t-zone. It also is great for the morning routine, but with my oily & dry & normal combo skin 🤯, it is good and bad for parts of my face. It soaks in well for dry and normal skin but tends to make oily skin oilier since it's not hydrating enough sometimes (this is why the priming moisturizer rich is my FAVE). Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Balance - best for oily skin and oily combo skin since it really soaks in well and has the right formula to prevent oily skin from being even oilier. The texture is like a thinner milky jelly cleanser that has a slightly watery feel, and makes the skin super soft. It's good around the t-zone as well. Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream - MY FAVORITE ONE EVER !! It smells like lavender and it's so hydrating!!! I would literally bathe in this because it is so smooth and soft. It's perfect for dry skin since it gives the hydration you need when your skin feels like Spongebob without water in Sandy's house 😂. It also makes skin soft and is super easy to apply, plus the amount in the tub is pretty generous for the price - $35 for 1.7 oz and it goes a long way too. Hope this helps anyone trying to figure out which Glossier Priming Moisturizer is right for their skin!! Stay healthy ! :)
