Thank you guys!

Yesterday I received my leaderboard prize for being in the top 3 and I got to use it tonight!!!!
First I just want to say I am just so thankful đ¤ to all of my followers and supporters for cheering me on. I am crazy overwhelmed (in a good way) with all the love â¤ď¸ I have received since being a part of this community.
Not to mention I am so close to 6k Followers and I just can believe it!! I have been such a hermit for a while, I was not even an avid social media user. I decided to start doing little things for my self with skincare and makeup, then one day I stumbled across Cherie and things just changed. I went from just cheering and saving posts that interested me, to my first post, to a large following and actual friends. This was all so unexpected and a such a blessing. I found myself again aside from being a mother and wife. I found self love and began a much needed journey of self care.
Also thank you Cherie!! This app has given me a lot of joy. The support you guys give is amazing! Just being on the leaderboard was such an honor and now there are gifts! You guys rock! Thank you again!
This oils is so lush!
HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil
Contains hemp-derived Cannabis sativa seed + adaptogenic herbs to soothe, hydrate, and gives a nice glow.
This product is high in moisture making it Perfect for the coming dry months.
Contains mushrooms and turmeric to defend skin against the environment and reduce wrinkles.
At $48 this could possibly replace my Sunday Riley oil....because that stuff is super expensive!!! I love it but my wallet doesnât! However this Emerald oil it a great replacement honestly and itâs not as heavy an oil. There is not a huge difference in the heaviness but it is noticeable to me. I also like how the scent fades, the Luna oil does not. Really a wonderful prize! Thank you !đđĽ°

đŠâđŹMy Tretinoin Journey ~ 8 Weeks in
Hi all! I started tretinoin / retin-a about 8 weeks ago for the first time. I got my prescription from Curology specifically seeking tretinoin, which I told my doctor so he would be sure to prescribe it to me! Always tell them if youâre looking for a specific ingredient!
đŠâđŹWhat is tretinoin/Retin-A?
ďżź
ďżźTretinoin is a Retinoid; retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A (retinol, retinaldehyde, retinal, isotretinoin, adapalene are others.)
ďżźTretinoinâs intended and approved use is for acne, as it was created for acne treatment, but it is very often prescribed for anti aging and skin texture because through the decades of research, doctors found it was great for reducing wrinkles and large pores and repairing sun damage.
ďżźTretinoin increases cell turnover and exfoliates the top layers of our skin
ďżźDecreases the shedding of dead skin cells into our pores + decreases inflammation
ďżźIt works much more deeply and much more effectively than its non-prescription counterparts, such as regular retinol
ďżźAlthough strengths cannot be compared across the board, it has been observed that retinol is roughly 20 times less potent than tretinoin
ďżźDecades of research confirm tretinoin as the holy grail, âgold-standardâ in topical treatments for fighting acne + clogged pores, as well as smoothing out fine lines + wrinkles, reducing pigmentation from damage, and evening the skin texture
ďżźFun fact: retinol is roughly 20 times less potent than tretinoin
đââď¸Who should use tretinoin?
ďżźTretinoin is suitable for most people; the only people who should be wary of it are those who have extremely sensitive skin, rosacea
ďżźâDo not use tretinoin or any retinoids when pregnant or breastfeeding!â
ďżźDermatologists say that tretinoin is a great option for comedonal acne since it exfoliates + prevents plugging of the pores
đUsing/starting Tretinoin - tips from me + my dermatologist
ďżźIâd recommend starting with tretinoin in a lotion/cream formula as it tends to be less harsh than the gel due to having soothing ingredients included in the formula. Curology has a cream formula that I absolutely love
ďżźLOW + SLOW : start with a low dose (ask your doctor and give them your history) + go slowly with use. My derm recommended starting M W F of each week but do it less if you are experiencing too much irritation
ďżźalways follow instructions + advice from your dermatologist. With curology, I am able to send my provider messages and pictures with concerns and requests
ďżźSimplify your routine! I did cut back to hydrating cleanser(s), hydrating toner or essence, thick moisturizer, my curology formula, + an oil on top to lock it all in. As your skin accustoms you will be able to slowly work those treatment products back in
ďżźSPF ALWAYSđ
I started tretinoin at 0.005% and upped to 0.01% after one month and I am seeing smoother skin and smaller pores, with very little purging.
Pictures are from ordered from oldest to new except the first which compares starting with 8 weeks.
XOXO

CBD as a skincare ingredient?!
Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a naturally-occurring chemical compound found in cannabis plants. It's one of the two primary active ingredients of cannabis, the other one being THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).
Unlike THC, pure CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it doesn't make you feel high.
With healing properties, "cannabidiol offers some serious antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can be beneficial in treating skin concerns like inflammation, dryness and free radical damage," says Ildi Pekar, NYC-based aesthetician.
Research shows that CBD has the potential to decrease excess sebum (oil) production, possibly due to its balancing effect on the flow of skinâs oil.
I have extremely sensitive and acne prone skin and using CBD products have really helped âcalm downâ. What I mean by that is my skin feels less puffy and less irritated. I have some redness on my face at times and CBD products really help soothe and take away the redness.
My fav cbd product is HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil
Itâs the perfect lightweight oil that does a really good job at hydrating my skin and calming it.

Today I wanted to spotlight rayna.skincare Stem Cell and Lipid Active Oil.
I have been using the oil for about 2 months on nights I am not using my DE A-Passioni.
A little about the company and product.
Rayna is a New Zealand company founded Eva Evguenieva.
Its a naturally derived oil blend of superfood seed oils such as Argan, Acai, Tsubaki, Strawberry, Meadowfoam, Sea Buckthorn and Sunflower oil.
It also contains Granactive retinol, which is why I use it on alternating days with my other retinol.
One of their star ingredients is the patented SWT-7TM derived from the traditional medicinal Ayurvedic Himalaya herb Swertia Chirata. In Clinical studies this stem cell technology has shown to stimulate growth factor production, epidermis regeneration and thickness and blur the appearance of vertical wrinkles.
The Company is also big on supporting Woman and raised money for Womans Refuge in NZ.
Swipe to see full ingredients, it really does have a lovely oil blend.
My Experience.
Its medium weight and a little really does go a long way I use about 3-5 drops.
Its got a very carrier oil earthy smell, wouldn't say it smelt nice but not bad either.
At first I thought it was just like any other oil but after more continued use I was waking up to nice hydrated smooth skin. I know this sounds weird but I could actually feel it being active on my skin.
So I am really enjoying this oil and so glad I got to experience using it. Still have 2/3 left so can enjoy it for a bit longer!
indeed LABORATORIES - Squalane Facial Oil
I saw this at the drugstore and wanted to try it. It cost $19.99 CAD at shoppers drug mart.
I love trying out new face oils. While compared to The Ordinary, this is a bit more expensive, I was still intrigued.
This Squalane is 100% sugarcane-derived.
Itâs silicone, paraben, Sulfate, fragrance, colourant-free. Itâs also alcohol free, vegan, and not tested on animals :)
If youâre not familiar with Squalane, it is naturally present in our skin. It helps prevent moisture loss.
My Thoughts:
Iâve enjoyed this product quite a bit. Itâs light-weight, and fast absorbing and leaves my skin feeling soft.
This product claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skinâs moisture. While I havenât noticed much in the way of fine lines and wrinkles as I donât have many at the moment, I will say it has helped retain moisture :)
I love that Squalane is non-comedogenic and Iâve certainly noticed that with this product. Iâve also noticed that itâs not irritating which makes me think it would be great for anyone with sensitive skin.
Because itâs light weight you donât feel like youâre putting on an oil. It doesnât leave my skin feeling greasy and it absorbs quickly.
How To Use:
Apply 1-2 drops (or however many you prefer) to cleansed skin in the AM or PM. You can also use this in your hair for added moisture!
Benefits:
instantly hydrates & locks in essential moisture
improves skin tone and texture
plumps skin and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
strengthens skin barrier to decrease water loss
leaves skin feeling exceptionally smooth & soft
hydrates face, body, and hair

Oils, serums, and acids OH MY!
I know I told you guys about my hyaluronic acid find but I wanted to share some more oils n things in my collection that I am obsessed with right now.
From left to right:
My current Tea Tree Essential oil. Picked up in Boulder, CO a couple weeks ago while road tripping to treat some bug bites I got in Utah. If you ever find yourself in Boulder CO make sure you go to Rebeccaâs Apothecary. Her store is seriously an herbalist or witchy or naturalists WET DREAM.
if you dont already know about Tea Tree, let me give you a quick run down.
Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca, is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds, which is why itâs one of the top antibacterial essential oils. Tea tree is a volatile essential oil derived mainly from the Australian native plant Melaleuca alternifolia. Itâs been widely used throughout Australia for at least the past 100 years and for over seven decades, itâs been documented in numerous medical studies for its ability to kill many strains of bacteria, viruses and fungi.REBECCA'S - Tea Tree Oil
Life-Flo Pure Rose Hip Seed Oil- Main benefits: Brightens and evens out the skin, regenerates and heals, helps with anti-aging, elasticity, and collagen production. Also fun fact- it is LOVED by the Duchess Kate Middleton and Gwynieh Paltrow . So you know itâs good. Life-flo - Pure Rosehip Seed Oil, Skin Care
Pure Hyaluronic Acid- We all know about this baby and its amazing skin benefits!
Derma E Anti Wrinkle Oil- Rosehip and Grapeseed Oil with Vitamins A &E.
This is another Oil I have kind been using all over. On my road trip, traveling through so many different regions and climates, my skin started to get weird dry splotches in various places on my arms and legs. So on top of using this as one of the oils in an oil concoction I have been using daily, I have been putting this on the dry patches and it seems to alleviate within a day or two.

Thereâs a new girl on the block and her name is the Radiance ⨠I only just began using her, so Iâm going to give some super quick first impressions.
I use this twice a day before moisturizer. It absorbs really, really well into my skin and it smells like green tea! Itâs a calming scent for me, and I love that in a product. I believe that this is a kind of do-it-all vitamin for your face, so my routine is pretty minimal with this being the shining star! I canât wait to (hopefully) see some results in a few weeks, and I update again then! đŤ
BEAUTYBIO-The Radiance Brightening Vitamin E + Rosehip Seed Facial Oil
BeautyBio âThe Radianceâ Facial Oil along with a GloPRO
I recently started testing them out but wanted to take a minute to write a first impressions review...
At first, the GloPRO can seem a little intimidating; itâs covered in tiny spikes (theyâre actually 0.3 mm needles), it rolls, lights up and vibrates. The purpose is to stimulate collagen and elastin production and enhance the penetration of actives.
I have started with twice per week use and I follow the instructions *very* closely. I cleanse, prep my face with one of the provided pads, roll each area for precisely 60s and, carefully disinfect the device with 70% isopropyl alcohol (Fun fact: 70% is the optimal concentration for killing bacteria - higher concentrations are actually less effective). When rolling, I apply almost no pressure. Just enough to hold the roller against my face. It feels a little prickly but not at all painful.
Afterwards, I apply my regular PM skincare with a few modifications. Through trial and error Iâve learned anything with a pH on the more acidic side (like Protini) should be avoided, as should anything with brightening/exfoliating acids, including toners and essences. My skin responds best to gentle skin repairing serums and facial oils.
BeautyBio does provide their own creams and serums to be used afterwards, but I want to give the GloPRO a solid try with my usual regime first. Why? Well, if I see amazing results (or have a poor reaction) itâll be simple to conclude the GloPRO is responsible.
Of the other products I received, the only one Iâve tried so far is The Radiance Facial Oil. This oil really is lovely! It is lightweight, absorbs quickly and leaves behind a velvety finish. In fact, it absorbs so well that I like to layer it underneath my moisturizer (rather than on top). The scent very mild but absolutely divine. Honesty, I need it in candle form!

Herbivore Botanicals EMERALD Deep Moisture Glow Oil.
Hemp feels pretty trendy lately but honestly hemp has been âtrendyâ since the 90s at least. Back then it was more hemp products (who else remembers making hemp necklaces?) now it seems hemp oil is the popular product coming from the cannabis plant. Hemp seed oil is the same as cannabis sativa seed oil. I find itâs a light yet nourishing and balancing oil.
I actually quite like hemp oil in my facial oils. Itâs even become one of my favorites this year. Hemp uses the seeds only and not the plant so the oil does not have THC & itâs completely legal
Hemp seed oil actually has all 21 amino acids and a balanced ratio of 3:1 Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acids. Itâs also rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids like gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), oleic acid and stearidonic acid which all help inflammation and things like atopic dermatitis.
This makes hemp a balanced healing oil. Hemp oil also has antioxidants like vitamin E, carotene (precursor to vitamin A), phytosterols & phospholipids. Do you need any more reasons to love hemp oil? Probably not as itâs an amazing oil on itâs ownďź
