2020 is coming to a close. I think we are all very hopeful for a better 2021. 2020 has been challenging year. But, as hard as it has been for me having a newborn & a toddler at home during two lockdowns now (Ontario is officially locked down today again), it has also given me LOTS of time with my kids, a HUGE appreciation for stay at home moms, and appreciating all the things I took for granted like seeing friends & family at Christmas. Here’s my @cherie2020 Top 5 1. Product My favourite has been SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment I received it in a sample bag from Sephora and was blown away by the results. It’s a 7 % lactic acid treatment in a milky serum consistency. It also contains licorice root extract. You really can notice it smooth & brighten your skin in 3 minutes! I haven’t bought the full size yet. It retails for $112 CAD for 1oz. But when my sample runs out I think this one is worth the money! (The sample is .25oz and I’ve been using it once a week for about 6 weeks and I might have one use left) 2. Trend Does Vitamin C count as a trend? I only started my skincare journey 6 months ago. I didn’t really know anything about skincare ingredients. Now I’ve bought two Vitamin C serums, an eye cream, and face wash! Vitamin C is powerful antioxidant that helps give you brighter, tighter, and overall more radiant looking skin. I definitely have noticed a difference since starting use to Vitamin C serums! VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum(haven’t started using) OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Juice Daily Cleanser 3. Best Look My best book would have to be my everyday 5 minute natural make-up look (see earlier post). Before I started my skincare journey in the summer, I was maybe washing my face in the shower and putting on lotion. Definitely no make-up. I looked tired and dull. Now I take care of my skin, so even without make-up I look brighter and I also take 5 minutes to put on a little make-up, even if it is just to walk the kids to the park and it makes me feel a lot better about my appearance. hello! this is both a “daily look” post as well as me screaming praise for 2 products used here. 1) NYX - Epic Ink Liner in Brown what a product! it goes on nice, is super pigmented and pretty, comes off with just a little friction and micelles water but doesn’t budge unless you want it to! i get no flaking or extreme fading. at the end of the night my eyeliner (after sweating in that hot NY weather) was still perfectly in tact. however, another product was at play keeping me flawless. And for 9 dollars, it’s more than worth it’s cost. 2) MORPHE - Mini Continuous Setting Mist Saweet Peach oh my GOD. I finished putting my makeup on at 9:00am and by 12:15am it was still all almost perfectly in tact minus some oily eyelids. i’ve never been so blown away by a setting spray. smells great, works great, wonderful investment. and for 10 bucks? you simply cannot go wrong. love love love.

I have a yellowish skin tone so I tend to lean toward peachy/bronze colors. But, as you get older it helps you look a little more alive if you have a bit of pink in your cheeks. Pinky Peach or Rose Gold blushes have become my go-to! I also don’t like shimmer in my blush for daily wear, but that’s hard to find. Listed in order of my favorite to my least favorite 1. NYX - High Definition Blush in Rose Gold This one is a great pink with a hint coral. The only negative is it’s shimmery. 2. BURT’S BEES - Blush with Vitamin E in Toasted Cinnamon Almost no pink, almost all peach. Zero shimmer!! This is the one I wear most often for everyday/work makeup. 3. NARS - NARS Blush in Orgasm Bright pink with a peachy/golden shimmer. I think this one gives the best face brightening effect. 4. tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Sweet This is super old and I really should toss it but I can’t!!! It’s a nice bright pink and shows up really well on my skin even with a tan. Shimmer. 5. bareMinerals - Gen Nude Powder Blush in Call my Blush This one is a really neutral pink with zero shimmer. Applies sheerest of the bunch but very buildable. 6. essence - Satin Touch Blush in Bespoke Warm gold peachy color. No shimmer. 7. MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in Luminoso More of a true light peach shimmer. Works as a highlighter as well. What is your favorite blush for everyday wear? Start with making sure your face is prepped and clean and moisturized! I start with Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 make sure your face is damp when applying so it’ll retain the moisture! This is important Then I seal it in with The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane Make sure to wait 30 seconds to let these products seal in. Makeup: For foundation COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation Now before I blend it in I spray my setting spray and let it dry a little before.. this will make it looked airbrushed!!! It’s important trust me. Then I use my REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge For concealer I use the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer I use the #Maybelline - Fit Me Loose Powder[products]#[FiveStars] and this stuff is great especially if you’re taking pictures or using a ring light! I use a dark concealer for my contour e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer And the wet n wild - Color Icon Bronzer Square I love this stuff it blends so well!! Then I use MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in luminoso it’s the best For highlighter I use wet n wild - MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in precious petals this applies so good I use the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara After I spray my NYX - Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray and use my beauty blender to make sure everything sets properly! For my lips I use NYX - Suede Matte Lip Liner in Brown And NYX - Butter Gloss in Praline Then layer a coat of NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream in Cairo Let me know any suggestions in the comments of your fave products! 🤎

This past year I’ve been very aware of my purchases and also very cautious about what I’m bringing into my makeup/beauty collection. Every once and a while I will do a little bit of a declutter and make sure I’m only keeping the things that I’m using on a weekly, or at least monthly basis. This most recent declutter I noticed these two products and realized I haven’t reached for them in months. OFRA - OFRA Highlighter is a beautiful formula- it’s what makes these so many people’s favorite highlighter, it easily glides over the top of whatever product you have underneath and gives you an intense glow. The only reason I’m getting rid of this is because my taste in highlighters have changed and I now like much more soft, more of a “lit from within” type of glow. A couple highlighters that I love and give me this effect are the MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Irresistible Glow Highlighter Collection & my ride or die MAYA CHIA - The Highlight of the Day The #SGX NYC - So Whipped[products]#[FourStars] is a whipped mousse formula that is supposed to calm frizz, define natural curls, and create a little bit of hold- I do think that this does all of these things, but it’s in the smallest way and I have so many other products that give me better results! Currently I’m obsessed with the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer it smells unbelievable and gives my hair such a smooth texture without getting weighed down! The spray nozzle gives the lightest diffused mist so it’s very difficult to overdo it and use too much, highly highly recommend this one! I’ve found regular declutters and being deliberate about what products I bring into my collection really helpful. It’s let me find what my personal taste is and which products I’ll tend to gravitate for and will actually use on a daily basis!

Start with making sure your face is prepped and clean and moisturized! I start with Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 make sure your face is damp when applying so it’ll retain the moisture! This is important Then I seal it in with The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane Make sure to wait 30 seconds to let these products seal in. Makeup: For foundation COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation Now before I blend it in I spray my setting spray and let it dry a little before.. this will make it looked airbrushed!!! It’s important trust me. Then I use my REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge For concealer I use the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer I use the #Maybelline - Fit Me Loose Powder[products]#[FiveStars] and this stuff is great especially if you’re taking pictures or using a ring light! I use a dark concealer for my contour e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer And the wet n wild - Color Icon Bronzer Square I love this stuff it blends so well!! Then I use MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in luminoso it’s the best For highlighter I use wet n wild - MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in precious petals this applies so good I use the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara After I spray my NYX - Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray and use my beauty blender to make sure everything sets properly! For my lips I use NYX - Suede Matte Lip Liner in Brown And NYX - Butter Gloss in Praline Then layer a coat of NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream in Cairo Let me know any suggestions in the comments of your fave products! 🤎

...during this winter Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 I played with one of my favorite palettes of all time which is the MORPHE - Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow PaletteI have literally made so many looks with this palette and after all this time I still reach for it often. I wanted to do an icy winter blue look so I played with the jada and pool side. The jada shade, which is the teal shade is soooo pigmented! It wasn’t chalky at all and applied evenly. For this look, I used: •creamsicle and butter with a fluffy brush as a transition shade •hunts on the crease just below the transition shade •I cut my crease with P.Louise eyeshadow base in shade rumour 2 •I applied jada all over the lid then topped it with poolside •I used creamsicle and butter on the lower lash then applied hunts on the outer lower lash. I applied jada close to the lash line •I used NYX retractable liner in white to brighten up the eyes •enlight on the inner corner and brow bone •mascara then falsies. I used HOL in Temptress Wispy Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to do a full blown eyeshadow look 💙 Xoxo, Francesca 💋

So I have been on the hunt for the perfect felt tip liquid eyeliner. I longed to do my winged look with a liner that could ACTUALLY go on top of eyeshadow. I always had the problem of them drying out mid process or them being to flat of a black that it needed many passes to look on point! Sorry for all the pics but I wanted to be thorough! Everything is in order 1-2-3 style starting with.....NYX - Super Skinny Eye Marker Valued at $9.50....you get what you pay for. The tip is very tiny which is fine for fine lines but not filling in. Also it’s a flatter sheen than what I like and takes many passes which I don’t like. You can see in the last picture how sparse it is on line 1. And I dried out on top of eyeshadow making it worthless unless I wanted to go without eyeshadow.... Araceli - Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner Valued at 40$. This is gold and by far my winner! Pricey yes, but worth it. The felt tip is nice and long. The liquid comes out nicely and boldly. The tip is very fine at the end which makes for great lines! It does not stand up against the one watery eye problem but it is still my go to specially on top of eyeshadow. This one does not dry up during application. I found a second pass is only needed to get missed spots on filling. This one also fills nicely. You can see it in line 2. eyeko - Skinny Liquid Vegan Eyeliner Value $22. Gave this one only one star because it’s pricey for what it is. It’s a chunky tiny little felt tip and honestly it’s sketchy liquid. The lines do not smoothly go on. Takes many takes a few passes and runs dry quickly. It’s just not worth 22$. Again unless you are not wearing eyeshadow but maybe even then. This is line 3. Obviously at the end of it all the Araceli is my Fav!!!!! Hands down! I used it in my last makeup look post with the reds and yellows.

I don’t know about you, but I almost ALWAYS check out the Clarence section anywhere I go 😂 and I actually only found 2 things there this time. The NYX pallet (a must with the holidays) and the InStudio bronzer. These are all new products and I haven’t uses any of them, so stay tuned for a full review! I’ll update this post with a product review probably tomorrow evening. 😊

I have the colorful palette (purple, pink, green, orange, yellow). The orange and yellow is ashy on my skin color. And before you even say it, yes I tried adding concealer before placing the eyeshadow on top. I mainly use the colors that show pretty well on me. It cost about $6 at Target. I never wore fake lashes until recently. I have a friend that wears them daily and they really change the game to your whole look! I tried lash extensions Once and it just wasn’t for me. Fake lashes can be a pain sometimes, but if you practice and get good at it then it is worth it! My eye size is normal and I have an almond shaped eye! For me I love a wispie and v-cluster lash! Sometimes I also like a tapered lash to give me a “cat-eye” look. 🙀 How to apply lash: 1. Meausure on your eye and trim the lash according to how big or small your eye is. 2. Apply glue along the band. 3. Most important!!! Wait until the glue is tacky. Depending on the glue this will take 15-30 seconds. *if glue has not dried to the tacky stage it is almost impossible to get the lash to sit correctly and last 4. Curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler while glue dries. 5. Use tweezers or a eyelash applicator to apply the fake lash on top of your lash line! 6. Do other lash while this one dries. 7. Repeat 1-5 on other lash. 8. Go back and use mascara to bind your real lash to the fake lash. 9. Sometimes I add eyeliner to the beginning of my eye to make the eye look more cohesive. #cheriepartner
