They Saved My Coarse Hair! 👍👏

Coarse hair seems to be a common problem among many people, yet, having smooth and luscious hair is desired by most. Nowadays, there are many products on the market that can help us treat coarse hair, and I’ll be introducing a hair essence and heat protectant that will achieve just that! My Hair Type: I have to admit that I brought this problem to myself. My hair used to be smooth and healthy, however, I was into dying my hair in various bright colors that involved many times of bleaching, which ultimately damaged my hair, almost beyond repair. For a while, my hair was coarse on the part that has been bleached and endless split ends followed. My hair became extremely weak and prone to breakage. On top of those problems, I have oily hair roots but dry ends. Product 1: Heat Protectant - Tresemme RP7 Pre-Styling Spray $3.59 / 300 ml This is such an affordable product that should be a staple item in everyone’s hair care collection. One cause for coarse hair could be too much heat on the hair. When we blow dry too closely to our hair or at a temperature that’s too high, or style our hair with a straightener or curler, our hair could be damaged and dry, thus, becoming coarse. This is where heat Protectant is important. I love the packaging because it is a spray-on product, which makes application very easy, you simply spray onto dry or wet hair before blow-drying or styling. The scent is very mild and makes the hair smell nice. The texture also feels lightweight and coats the hair nicely. I noticed that my hair became smooth and shiny right after application, and over months of usage, my hair felt stronger, and there are less split ends and less tangles. One thing I would note is to avoid applying onto the scalp because it can make the hair oily and flat. Product 2: Hair Essence - Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Creme for Hair $4.95 / 135 ml We’ve all heard of bb cream for the face, which is a product that is supposed to benefit the skin in multiple ways. In this case, this product is a bb cream for hair. It is a multi-tasking leave on treatment. It truly lives up to its name, because it really moisturized, detangled and defrizzed my hair. It can be applied onto dry or wet hair, at day or night. For me, I like to apply this before bedtime. I would dispense two pumps into my hair and apply it evenly on my hair, except for the scalp. I would notice a huge difference the next day, where my hair feels extremely smooth and silky, and all of the coarseness would be gone. The packaging is nice and convenient, the price is very affordable, and most of all, I love the scent. It smells like perfume for the hair. I absolutely adore this product and would highly recommend this to my friends and family. I have emptied at least three bottles of this, so I encourage you to give this a try too!

Stop Doing These To Your Hair
If you are someone like me, who enjoys styling their hair when going out, whether it be straightening or curling hair, then we are exposing our hair to a lot of heat and potential damage. I’ve made mistakes before and this has cost my hair’s health, but now that I’m becoming more experienced and learning from other beauty bloggers and friends, I’ve got a few tips that will protect your hair from being damaged by all the styling one likes to do. My Hair Type: Before I get started, I will introduce a little bit about my hair type. I am born with very straight and soft hair, and they have been damaged by many times of bleaching and coloring, so now they are thinning, becoming dry and weak. Mistake one: Not using Heat Protection Before we let our hair come in contact with heating products such as straightening and curling irons, it is important that we protect our hair by spraying heat protectants on our hair to form a barrier. I was clueless before and did not use any heat protectant before styling my hair and over time, I have noticed that it has become more dry and prone to breakage. Now that I’ve added heat protectant, my hair feels stronger and smoother. Mistake Two: Overheating your hair Often, styling products have several heat settings, and before I always used the highest setting to style faster, but the extreme heat really damaged my hair, leading to a lot of split ends. Now, I have learned to use the lowest setting and develop more patience, and in return, I get the same style but healthier hair. Mistake Three: Style wet hair I realized this mistake when watching other beauty bloggers. They said that styling wet hair is not only impractical but does a lot of damage. The moisture in the hair makes it impossible to form any curls or keep your hair straight. Therefore, always make sure to dry your hair completely before styling. Product Used: Tresemme RP7 Pre-Styling Spray I love this product because it feels lightweight on the hair and does a great job of protecting my hair from heat. After using, I noticed that my hair has fewer split ends and feels stronger and has fewer tangles. I usually spray a few pumps directly onto my hair before styling and it dries really fast. However, I would not spray this onto the scalp because it can make your hair look oily and flat.

Coarse Hair Is No Match For These Holy Grail Products
Coarse Hair Is No Match For These Holy Grail Products
Coarse hair can be ultra-difficult to keep shiny and smooth. It seems like coarse hair has a mind of its own!   My natural hair is quite curly and coarse, but it's also on the thinner side. If I don't use my holy grail hair care products, I look like a poodle. For lack of better words! The tricky thing with my hair is that while it needs a major boost of hydration, I tend to get oily roots quite fast because it's on the thinner side. Luckily, I've found some excellent products that combat my course dry strands without my roots looking like an oil slick. Products I can't live without:   1. OLAPLEX No.6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme $28 This is sulfates & paraben-free styling cream is such a hair-saver. It comes in a 3.3oz (recyclable) bottle and smells delicious. A little goes a long way; this stuff is potent. I use about a pea size amount and run it through damp hair. I use it on dry hair too after styling. I've been using it for around a year, and I'm already on my second bottle. I will repurchase it - no doubt about it! 2. OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil $28 In my mind, OLAPLEX can do no wrong, so it's no wonder I'm obsessed with the bonding oil as well. The 1oz bottle comes in a small, easy to use bottle. I put about 3-4 drops in the palms of my hands and mix it with OLAPLEX No.6 and put in my dry hair. It makes my hair look shiny, feel softer, and it smells light & fresh. I'm still on my first bottle (a little goes a long way), but I know I'll be repurchasing when I finally run out.   I use this mixture (No.6 + No.7) about twice a week to keep my coarse hair feeling soft.

Flat iron Do’s & Dont’s
Flat iron Do’s & Dont’s
"No heat protection " This is a common mistake that most people make when blow drying their hair.  You can choose to apply a serum or a cream heat protector before drying on your damp hair or use an aerosol spray that you can spray on each section before you heat it with a flat iron or curl it. KÉRASTASE - Nutritive Nectar Thermique Conditioner This is my favorite heat protector cream this year. Kerastase has the best hair products for repair 👍 Since blow dryers have heat, and damp hair is more fragile than dry hair. If your hair is really fragile or breaking, it's the heat that brings the damage. Using heat protection will keep your hair in the best condition possible given the fact that you are using heat tools. This is also when most damage comes from. “Do not go up & down multiple times” When heating the hair with flat iron, try not go up and down. Correct way is to slowly moving from the scalp to the root. It makes all the follicles point the same direction. This also create the sleek finish and add extra shine if you do it correctly. Dos Comb your hair One thing you should notice is that the iron seals whatever goes into the hair. By this, it means that, if there are a lot of crinkles in a section of your hair and you go straight to straightening. What you did is to seal the whole section including all the crinkles into the hair. It is always recommended to avoid using a comb first. Section your hair I like to iron with small sections about 1 inch wide. Sectioning shift to diagonal section, keep portions nice and small, working on diagonal, easy to get the texture we want. give a light mist, once it gets dry, we can go ahead and apply the heat. One thing to notice here is that when we work on the diagonal, after the hair falls, it still has a little bit movement to it. So it doesnt get flat. What we did is that we keep the iron on the diagonal and this would leave with a much nicer result.

✨DAMAGE FREE BLOWOUT W ONE PRODUCT✨
✨DAMAGE FREE BLOWOUT W ONE PRODUCT✨
Do you always blow out your curly or wavy hair? I do 🙋🏼‍♀️. I like to describe my hair as wavy. Not cute wavy but frizzy, cotton ball-texture wavy. Here is my quick fire way to blow dry your hair smooth and get it to last using ONLY ONE PRODUCT! Woo hoo! ✨THE PRODUCT✨ Aveda’s Smooth Infusion glossing straightener! You can get away with using only this because it helps straighten the hair, adds shine and protects the hair from heat damage/humidity using organic aloe, maize and guar bean. The consistency is somewhere between a gel and cream. It has an earthy, natural signature Aveda scent (think citrusy, floral) and retails for $26. ✨HOW I USE IT✨ I start with towel dried hair and put a *dime* size amount of the glossing straightener in my hand and work through my mids and ends. Make sure to evenly disperse this product throughout hair with your fingers, it is a little bit thicker. Also a little bit goes a long way, you can use too much so be careful and stick to the dime size! Rough dry your hair using fingers until hair is 60-70% dry making sure the airflow from your blow dryer is going down the hair shaft. No need for a brush yet! Section your hair using duck bill clips into 3 sections. Crown area, middle, and nape area. Use medium size round brush to smooth out hair section by section. Make sure you have tension while using the round brush, the tension will be what really helps to smooth out the hair. Make sure hair is 100% dry in each section before moving to the next Use a flat iron to touch anything up and you are done!

caring for straight(ish) hair
caring for straight(ish) hair
Today I want to talk about how I’ve learned to care for my hair, which isn’t stick straight but usually isn’t *super* wavy either. It can also get pretty oily in the summer; I have oily skin on my face, and the two typically go together. First, I tend to wash my hair every day. I know some people are very against this, but it’s what works for me! Since my hair is pretty straight and thin, it tends to get weighed down with product and I hate the feeling of sleeping on it. So I wash it every night. When my hair is wet, I comb out any tangles with a wide-toothed comb. I’ve found this results in way less breakage than if I comb or brush my hair when it’s dry. I use a wooden comb that was a gift, so I’m unsure of what brand it is, but there are lots of great wide-toothed combs out there. I rarely blow dry my hair. I used to blow dry it every day in high school so it would be stick straight, but thankfully that’s not the look anymore 🙃 It’s straight enough without subjecting it to unnecessary heat every day, and heat also makes hair brittle and more prone to breakage unless you use proper heat protectant products. If I do blow dry my hair, I use amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray to protect from heat and add extra volume and shine. I’ve reviewed this before, but just to recap: I love it! A little goes a long way to add just the right amount of volume to my hair. I’ll be honest: I haven’t been styling my hair much at all since I’ve been working from home since March 😬 Most days it’s just a scrunchie ponytail for me. I’ll occasionally add some Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo or SACHAJUAN - Dark Volume Powder to add some volume to my roots—both of these are great for making my roots look lifted, and I’m recommend them to anyone with straight hair in need of a little volume and texture.

HAIR rituel by sisley - Precious Hair Care Oil Glossiness & Nutrition WHAT IT IS: The Precious Hair Care Oil provides nutrition, radiance and softness to the hair. WHAT IT DOES: A blend of passionfruit oil, shea oil, cotton oil and moringa oil smooth and envelope the hair to bounce light across the fiber and create shine. Has a light texture that will not weigh hair down. HOW TO USE IT: Apply a small amount to the mid-lengths and ends of damp or dry hair. Smoothed and nourished, the hair is immediately enhanced. People have commented on the price but it’s a MASSIVE bottle which should last a year. I have had quite a few samples of this oil and have been very impressed with the very nourishing and smoothing properties. It improves the texture of the hair/leaves a sheen and beautifully soft. I will purchase one later as I feel it would last a long time as it is quite concentrated and a little goes a long way. It doesn’t weigh down hair or make it greasy. It controls frizz but doesn’t spoil curls. I love it and wouldn’t use any other brand now. After using it, i became a big fan of Sisley’s hair products!! I’ve been using shampoo, conditioner and hair mask, but this one is my favorite. It satisfies me! I’ve never disappointed of them So I didn’t hesitate to use this hair oil. It’s fantastic! It’s like made it for private user. Absolutely resolve my problems. The texture is thick but not on your hair especially for someone has fine and curly hair.Absorb quickly.heavenly fantastic fragrance. You can use after shampoo without using conditioner or hair mask. Grow your hair with a ✨Long Hair Care Routine✨
Grow your hair with a ✨Long Hair Care Routine✨
Long hair, especially curly hair like mine, can be very difficult to maintain. I’ve had long hair for about 5 years now and I have found that it’s better to use less products overall and more importantly the right ones. After years of testing products, I found what works! 💊Taking vitamins can help to strengthen hair and promote growth as well (previous post.) 💪 To keep my hair strong, I avoid blow drying and straightening. I probably do it once or twice a year. 🔑 Key - hair can’t maintain length if it’s prone to breakage and split ends. It’s important to strengthen it, if you want long, healthy hair. 💁🏻‍♀️My Daily Long Hair Care Routine Step 1 Shampoo 2-3 times per week MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Shampoo I shampoo 2-3x per week, but less is also ok if your hair requires a little more or less depending on the levels of dryness or oiliness. Focus on the roots and work downward. It’s important not to dry out long hair as it can become prone to breaking. I’ve used this brand for a while and my hair became healthier and less prone to breakage, split ends and more voluminous overall. Sulfate and paraben free! Step 2 Condition MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Conditioner I condition my hair almost every time I a shower. For long hair, especially wavy and curly hair, hydration is key for maintenance. This conditioner is perfect because it leaves my hair feeling nourished, shiny and soft. Sulfate and paraben free! Step 3 Leave In Treatment MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Rapid Grow Leave In I use this right after a shower. I towel dry my hair and liberally apply as needed. It’s an excellent detangler and I have overall less breakage and loss when brushing my hair. Sulfate and paraben free! MOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment After my hair is mostly brushed through, I use 1.5-2 pumps of Moroccan oil on my whole head. It tames my frizz while conditioning and smoothing. Sometimes I’ll apply it dry to style as well. I’ve been a fan of this for years and it never fails. Sulfate and paraben free! Step 4 Style ogx - Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream Once my hair is ready for styling, I’ll add a small amount of this, especially to stop flyaways. It’s lightweight and absorbs well. Definitely a better alternative than gems or mousse.
