Morning and night routine - suggestions?

JenniferRay
Here is my AM and PM routine. My issues are mostly large pores and blackheads. I feel like my morning routine is missing something. We are trying for baby #2 soon so Retinoids and salicylic acids are out. Morning: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial CleanserI actually just started using this cleanser. Before this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser
which I really liked, but the CeraVe had been recommended by so many I thought I would try it. pixi - Rose Tonic
I like this toner. Not sure it is doing a whole lot for me. Thinking about trying fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Tonernext. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I really want to love this product and I am hoping with continued use I will see more results. I’m thinking of using this once a day instead of twice a day and maybe replacing it with something else. Maybe a vitamin C? CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream
this has been working great on my dark puffy eyes. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
I’ve been using this for a few weeks. It is okay. I don’t love the way it feels on my skin and will likely go back to Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
which I feel like was better for my skin. Sunscreens: I use CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30
on days when I am just at home. Unfortunately it does contain Salicylate which have been shown in animal studies to cause birth defects. So I will be discontinuing. MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30
I use this during the week as a foundation because I have to wear a mask for a good portion of the day and it provides enough coverage without being too heavy. bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
PM routine: Same as above accept I double cleanse with BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition
2-3 times a week at night I use The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
I have only been using this for a few weeks, but it is one of the few products you can use for acne during pregnancy. 2x a week I use The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
My skin feels great after I use this. I have noticed much of a change yet. But I am hoping I will over time. 1x a week I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
My skin feels amazing after I use this. Unfortunately once we are pregnant I will have to stop using this one. Products I am planning to add: pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Deviceand pmd - Personal Microderm. These are both arriving in my Fall Welcome Causebox and I cannot wait to add them in! I’ll be able to continue to use both of these once we are pregnant and have heard great things about their effects on large pores.

Chemical Exfoliating 101
Exfoliating is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin using a chemical and physical exfoliate. Naturally, your skin sheds its dead skin cells to make room for new cells every 30 days or so. On occasions, the dead skin cells do not shed properly. This leads to dry, flaky patches, and clogged pores. Exfoliating can help prevent in-proper shedding of skin cells. You and your skin can benefit from exfoliating because it can improve the appearance of your skin in several ways. Exfoliation can leave your skin looking brighter and improve/enhance your skin absorption of products. When you practice regular exfoliation, it can help to prevent clogged pores, which results in fewer breakouts! When you have been exfoliating for a long-term, you end up increasing collagen production. Chemical exfoliants are acids that get rid of dead skin cells. There are multiple different chemicals that you can used. There are a handful of different chemicals that are used. AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids)- popular AHAs include glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, and malic acid. These are water-soluble acids that are typically derived from sugary fruits. BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids)- the most popular BHA is salicylic acid. BHAs are oil-soluble. There are two other chemicals called PHAs and TXAs. Retinoids are also under the category of a chemical exfoliation. Weaker formulas can be bought over the counter, while stronger ones are usually applied by a dermatologist. Just like physical exfoliants, chemical exfoliants can irritate the skin as well. If you are unsure of how to incorporate a chemical exfoliant into your routine, see a dermatologist for guidance. If you are looking into incorporating chemical exfoliates into your routine, you should give a look into PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator, The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, and THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner.

What is your Top 5 for 2020?
I think we can all agree that this has been a tough year. But, that being said, I used my time in quarantine to totally change my approach to skincare. Turning 41 this year, I know what aging does to my skin and I’ve learned so much through research about the best ways to fight it. The other huge thing I learned this year... you don’t always have to spend hundreds to find what works. Thanks to the new beauty market, there are amazing tools available and accessible to anyone of any budget. Finally! But this post isn’t about budget. This post is about the absolute best products that I fell in love with this year and intend to keep around forever! #5 - it might be at the bottom of the list, but DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Renewal Cream is my staple and one of the greatest loves of my life. Having combination skin, it’s really hard to find an amazing moisturizer that does the work I need but doesn’t create an oil slick on my face. This inexpensive and unassuming night cream is not only clean, but contains both retinol and bakuchiol... as well as allantoin and B5. Less than $15, available at Target, and the most effective product I’ve ever used for soft, smooth, grease-free skin. #4 - I never understood the benefits of facial oils until I found GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil this year. Holy wow. What a difference it makes. If you like soft and younger looking skin, spend the $6 and make this the last step in your nighttime routine. I never totally understood that rosehip oil is really retinol light. It encourages cell turnover and creates the most amazing texture of skin. #3 - Likely the most overlooked active in The Ordinary’s line, the The Ordinary - Pycnogenol 5% is a must have! Does it smell terrible? Yes. Is it easy to overdo and create greasy skin? Yes. But does it revolutionize your skin and it’s youth? Also YES! A little goes a long way. I use two drops in the morning and three at night, just before applying my moisturizer. It’s honestly made a world of difference in brightness, clarity, softness, and fine lines. #2 - One word, complicated definition: epigenetics. It’s pretty fascinating and I didn’t totally understand it at first. I stumbled upon StriVectin - Wrinkle Recode Line Transforming Melting Serum by mistake. It’s the only product in my entire top five over $20. But what an incredible act of serendipity this mistake was. It smells and feels like VapoRub... but you’ll not only see immediate results in deep and fine lines, even your hands look better just from applying it. It really is an amazing product. And of course, my #1 is probably everyone else’s #1 for this year. The mighty The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . I don’t think I need to elaborate much on it. I’ll just say, if you’re not using it, you probably should. It’s beyond phenomenal.

I Tried It All & An Acne Victory Emerged!
Hormonal acne is extremely difficult to completely eliminate unless you treat the cause- which, my hormone fluctuations aren’t going anywhere, so I’d gotten pretty good at controlling breakouts via salicylic acid and niacinamide while I used azelaic acid and alpha arbutin to fade any leftover spots. But nothing has helped minimize my hormonal breakouts quite like Tretinoin 0.05%, a prescription that was previously unattainable thanks to the $200 copay for the dermatologist visit and the $180 prescription cost. Apostrophe doesn’t require you to have insurance- they have a flat rate $20 “visit fee” during which you fill out a questionnaire (including your health history) and send a dermatologist photos of your skin. Then that $20 goes towards your first prescription fill in their pharmacy, which is only $60 the first time and $90 after, though each lotion bottle should last about 3+ months with recommended use. $30 a month for the gold standard topical anti-aging ingredient and clinically-proven acne treatment? Sign me tf up. After just a month using Apostrophe - Topical Formula , I saw a difference in the frequency of my blemishes, though with stress and mask wearing lately I’ve been breaking out again. So my doctor added Clindamycin into my mix... at no extra charge, just the flat $90 cost. For those with insurance, you can have your prescription filled at the pharmacy of your choice (with your insurance if it covers it), making it super convenient for those that don’t want to wait on shipping times, which was only a couple days for me. The entire process, from survey to first product application, took only a week. I didn’t experience much irritation when introducing Tretinoin, as I eliminated all exfoliants and a lot of the products I was using to reduce risk of sensitizing my skin- plus I didn’t (and still don’t, even around six months later) use it daily. My skin is now less oily, less prone to the small colorless bumps that plagued my forehead, and I don’t really get blackheads anymore. For the anti-aging aspect, I’m 27, so I have few signs of aging as far as my skin goes- I have noticed some slight improvement in a crease in my forehead I’ve had since I was 16, which is promising! I just can’t emphasize enough how, while this didn’t cure my acne or the cystic blemishes I get around my period, this lotion has been the best acne treatment I have tried so far. #CheriePartner

Holy grail for breakouts
The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I’ve been using this for less than a month and have not suffered a major breakout since then! It’s also beginning to lighten my hyperpigmentation from my terrible breakouts all around my chin. I usually have very sensitive skin and breakout from most products (including all of Ceraves cleansers that everyone hypes and the Ordinary’s Niacinamide). The only reasons why I gave it four stars is because the texture is too thick to use during the day with makeup or other products, as it starts to pill. While it’s a great price, note that the bottle is small but you only need to use very little, less than a pea size amount for the whole face. I actually just told my dermatologist about this new product and she said her patients have seen much success using it too and was surprised it’s so unheard of. She specifically recommended the ordinary because of the price, apparently it’s incredibly expensive as a prescription with a higher percentage. Highly recommend, especially for someone who’s battled acne since she can remember and has tried almost every prescription topical treatment on the market!

Makeup remover: OIL or CREAM texture?
ABOUT ME:Combination dry skin,Acne Prone skin. Oil in my T-zone. ERNO LASZLO - Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil ERNO LASSO pre-cleansing oil is sold for $40 of 200ml. Light yellow oil. It cannot be treated as makeup remover or cleanser. It is pre-cleansing oil. What does this mean?   ✨How to use: Before washing your face, apply it on your skin, then directly apply the cleanser. This product is for matching their main product, black soap. Official suggests us to use pre-cleansing oil firstly, then using the black soap. But I never tried this combination. I changed the black soap to my common cleanser. The effect is also great!I usually treat it as a massage oil for my face before cleaning.   🤔Why we need this? For example, summer is so hot and the temperature of our skin is hotter, while the winter has a low temperature and our face is relatively dry. So product can help us adjust the balance of skin temperature and condition.   Be honest, when I first used it, I thought it was the worst cleansing oil I have ever used. I squeezed an appropriate amount of cleansing oil on the face with dry hands and dry face. Wash off with water after the massage. The result is still a layer of oil on my face. But now, I learned this product cannot be used as a cleanser.   BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition The other one comes from Korean, BANILA ZERO, 100ml for $20. Their prices are totally the same. Differ from the simple packaging of Erno lasso, banila zero is looked more cute, always in a pink package. The texture is white cream with low liquidity. In general, cream texture is more oil than others. But this one gives me a surprising feeling.   ✨How to use: Massage on your face by circular direction by using your dry hands on your dry skin. If you feel your feel has become clean, wet your hands then massaging continuously. Under this way, the paste can be emulsified into cream. I always use cleanser again after this product. Both products, same size, same using way, same price. However, I prefer BANILA CO. Every time when I use it, I can feel more comfortable and cleaning! Actually, oil texture is always my last option.

My Holy Grail Double Cleansing Routine!
For total transparency, let’s start with what my skin type is, I would generally describe my skin as combination to oily, with a greater emphasis on oily. I don’t have any such skin condition, except for extra-large pores, which produce oil at the speed of light! Moving on, ever since the Korean Glass Skin started dominating the internet, I have been read about the double cleansing routine, but due to classes and work, I never got around to trying it out myself. However, after last year’s wedding season, my skin was clearly asking for some love. So, I decided to incorporate the double cleanse method into my routine. So I set out on the journey to find the best products for my skin type and after much research, I found the duo of my dreams; Banila Co Clean It Zero Original and Nature Republic Aloe Vera Face Wash. The cleansing balm retails for almost USD 19 and comes in a huge jar of 100 ml. The packaging itself is absolutely stunning and it encompasses the most gorgeous pastel pink jar in the world. Later, I realized that they have recently revamped their style and their formula both! 2nd pictures of the jar and the pack to satisfy your aesthetics. On the website, the product is described as a cult favorite cleansing balm, which melts your makeup seamlessly, and leaves your skin clean. When you cleanse your face with an oil or a bam, it melts away the impurities and breaks down the excess sebum, which builds up in the pores.  The new formula is enriched with Vitamin C and is free from any essential oils, and thereby, making it completely safe to use daily. I tried the product for almost 4 months before reviewing it and it has made such a huge difference to my skin overall. The skin feels clearer and my makeup stays on for longer! Let’s talk about the texture and fragrance. The product is completely free of any fragrance and is therefore suitable for all skin types, including the sensitive ones.  The texture of the product is more like a balm than oil, but that’s clear from the name. You can scoop it out in your palm and massage your dry face with it, the heat from the skin will melt the product in the process. Then wash it off with cold water and follow with your other cleanser. The second step is the water-based cleansing for which I used the Aloe Vera Face Wash. There is not much to write home about and honestly, I just got it because of its price point that is $6.90 only! The product is described as a moisturizing foam wash on the website and has more of a foamy consistency, therefore, it is not suitable for any other skin type except for oily. Attaching pictures below for a better understanding. However, the combination of the two worked really well for my skin as aloe vera and vitamin C are two of my products. I would recommend you guys to check out this product and transform your skin!

My Birthday Causebox Haul! Cheer to make my day!
So, today is my birthday, and I just unboxed an amazing self gifted b-day gift!! This Fall Causebox arrived yesterday and I opened it today to find some lovely gifts. This subscription box is great because it sends you great things any girl will love, but may not necessarily buy for herself. All products are sustainably focused, women empowerment focused, which includes not only empowering you, but women entrepreneurs and women owned businesses that may not have access to the global market. They put thought into selecting items that follow these values, and distributing them for a lower price to you! I think the S’well water bottle alone is more than half of the price of the box! Something I love about this company is how they hire female artists to design the boxes' artwork, and even give you a postcard with some artwork for you to keep and a cute sticker to finish off the perfect wrapped package! It is beautiful and funky. My sister keeps the boxes for storage around her house with an artistic edge! This season box was designed by Cynthia Kittler, an illustrator based in Frankfurt, Germany. You always get a nice booklet with your box that tells you about the companies, and about the artists which is super nice to acknowledge! So let’s dive into what I got!! I will only be reviewing the fashion and household items today, because I want to take some time to test out the beauty items to give a solid review! PMD Microderm pmd - Personal Microderm Something I have always been skeptical of trying, but as a religious microdermabrasion finatic, I may as well see what this is all about. I got this as a welcome gift when I was referred by a friend! If you want to get the most benefit from causebox, start the subscription with a friends referral! PMD Beautypmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device I have been wanting to try these for a while, but never thought to spend the money on one. I will let you know how this goes after I try it out!! Way of Will Brightening Facial Serum I can’t wait to try! Have been hoping to find a new brightening serum for the winter! S’WELL Insulated Water Bottle Triple layered vacuum-insulated miracle water bottle! Keeps things hot for 12 hours and cold for 24 hours! I have one of these already which I have had for almost five years now and it is still like new! These are the best water bottles I own and I am so happy to have a new one to change things up! If you don’t have one already, this is a great way to get one because they are expensive. Pixie Mood Vegan Leather Handbag This company values cruelty free fashion. For 10 years they have stayed true to this using everything from cork bags, corn based packaging. They are carbon neutral and offset their emissions. The bag I got is a beautiful vegan leather made from 100% recycled water bottles collected from landfills. Classy, value rich and cruelty free? You can’t go wrong. It even comes with a smaller zip up bag inside of it that can be removed to be a Makeup/toiletries bag. Mine is a nice camel colour and its minimalist style gives a rich sense of class! Core Bamboo Serve Set Something everyone should use! Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources on the planet!! Every time it is cut down it grows back within a couple of years to the same size. This set is organically grown, and antibacterial (as all Bamboo is naturally). Keeping it in good shape is simple when using mineral oil to help keep it from splitting. Washing them after each use and using salt to get any stains out is a key for care before adding the mineral oil. Altcooking Hub Silicone Food Cover Set Durable, reusable and leak free, this will replace almost every use of plastic wrap you may need. These are an essential item that need to get into every household!! Kudos to Causebox for making this happen!

If you love skincare tools and devices...
Skincare tools and devices is something I've seen many people rave about and love! I dipped my toes in that trend too... I loved these skincare tools and devices so much, mostly because if felt they're like a luxury and who doesn't like to have a fancy, shiny tool they see people using and raving about? But is skincare tools and devices helpful for your skin concerns? Do they add any benefits in your routine? Most of these tools are just an additional step and luxury in your skincare regimen. Some devices and tools are helpful for some specific skin issues like Silicone Cleansing devices for Acne and congested pores or deep cleaning. But if you ask any dermologist or skincare expert they will tell you how you can cleanse your skin just with your hands and you don't need any tools for that. I like using PMD cleanser for some reasons, first is I really like to deep cleanse my Acne prone skin and second is it's silicone, vibrates and heats up giving me a nice spa feel when using. But it's totally an extra step in my routine. I wouldn't swear by these silicone cleansers changing my skin dramatically. I know what made it change are the skincare that I put on my skin and let it work for hours. Talking about Gua Sha and Jade rollers, it is fairly a recent trend in western beauty community where everyone felt the need to have a jade roller or Gua Sha in their home. I can press on telling they're great if you love massaging your face in the morning or every week or you want something to grip onto while working your hands in massage steps. But they're necessarily not any benefitial in skin improvement. Gua Sha particularly is an ancient tool in Chinese wellness and therapy where they sculpt your face and release tension in your limphatic drainage with those gracefully carved heavy stones. But for that technique and to really get the results you need to learn authentic Gua Sha techniques and if you use it religiously it will sculpt your face and tighten skin. But are they a necessity? Ofcourse not. Devices with Red light or Blue light emission are another thing where you need to have an expertise or atleast expensive devices with specific wavelength of Infra red light. I have this tool with Red light and they claim to reduce fine lines and wrinkles but I haven't experienced any change at home. If I really want to have red light therapy I would prefer going to a dermatologist and get done in settings. Similarly, Dermarollers are of more risk than benefit when done at home. I wouldn't say they don't work when done at home because I have done it, and yes they definitely help. But if you do it frequently and without really knowing how much your scars need, it will eventually disrupt your skin barrier. Leading skin being dry, sensitive and flakey and in worse cases contact dermititis. If you really want to learn how to dermaroll your face at home you can watch Dr. Davin Lim's (Board Certified Dermologist) 'How to perform skin needling' video on YouTube. https://youtu.be/o3r-DkgcJ3w Conclusively, I don't hate skincare tools and devices but I don't find them necessary too. If you like using any of these I'll list them down below! I have enjoyed using them in past but I don't really reach for them these days. Skincare tools is a thing where you definitely need to know what your skin really needs and what it can handle. If you find them giving you therapeutic experiences, go for it ❤️pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device OSEA - Gua Sha Sculptor revive LIGHT THERAPY - Glō Portable Anti-Aging Light Therapy Device COSMEDIX - Facial Massage Roller LOLYSENTA - Derma Roller LUXE + WILLOW - Refresh - Opal Facial Massage Roller

Feeling ill?? Slap some makeup on!
I apologize for the sparse posts. Mama has been feeling under the weather with some serious health issues. Instead of wallowing in bed all day, I decided to play with my NATASHA DENONA - Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Dusk. These colors are to die for, and they have quite a bit of versatility once you start playing around with them. And that blending power? *chef’s kiss* Also, I just started using Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara . I’ll be the first to tell you that I HATE waterproof mascara because I find it to be too abrasive, but this product gives you incredible volume and actually comes off with my regular cleanser!

Try this tinted moisturizer for a glow!
COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer I got this tinted moisturizer a while back at Ulta. I got it on sale for I think $9. It was so reasonably priced that I didn’t have very high expectations. I like using the bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 but it’s much more expensive. I was very surprised at how well the pretty fresh tinted moisturizer worked! I like it just as much as the bare minerals. It provides nice light to medium coverage. It doesn’t have the spf like the bare minerals but I use a separate spf either way so I don’t mind! I definitely think the COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer is worth a try, especially at such a great price point! Also if anyone is wondering I’m also wearing Kosas - Weightless Lip Color in Undone and Kosas - Color & Light: Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter Duo in Contrachroma.

Need New Makeup Routine
Hi! So I'm finding my makeup routine isn't working as well as it used to. I'm currently using the Nyx Pore Filler Primer, Maybelline FitMe Foundation (I've tried both the matte and dewy), e.l.f. camo hydrating concealer, Maybelline BB Cream, and the Maybelline FitMe Loose Powder to finish (all linked below). I moisturize beforehand with an oil free moisturizer and use a moist makeup sponge to apply. My big issues are cakiness/creasing, rough skin from acne and scarring, redness, lots of visible pores, visible dark circles, and some dry patches near my eyes. I have combination skin so my cheeks and nose are VERY oily but my forehead and skin around my eyes is more dry. I'm just not getting the coverage I want and my face doesn't look smooth in the slightest. I'd like to stay on the cheaper side but would be willing to spend more for a product that really works. Any help is appreciated, thank you! 5 Multitasking Products!!
I start with applying the #MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30[products]#[FourStars] I use the shade 110. On days I want the SPF factor but more coverage I will add in 1-2 drops of the No. 7 foundation drops. I use a sponge to blend this but it also blends nicely with a brush or your hands! I’ve tried so many BB creams over the years and I typically have two main issues: lack of longevity and not being able to build up the coverage. The longevity of this BB cream surprised me, especially if I’m diligent with my skin prep - I can get up to 10 hours of wear!! Next I use the #e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer[products]#[FourStars] in the shade Tan-Walnut as a contour/bronzer. I dot this around the perimeters of my face and blend with my sponge. I sometimes use this on my lids for a subtle eyeshadow. Next I do my brows with the #e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow Pencil[products]#[ThreeStars] this product is just ok- there’s many other drugstore brow pencils that I prefer over this one (#L.A. Girl - Shady Slim Brow Pencil[products]#[FourStars] ) you can also use the elf pencil to line your eyes if it’s all you have on hand. Then I blot the #Kaja - Air Heart Lightweight Natural Finish Lipstick[products]#[FourStars] on my lips and if I don’t have a blush with me I actually use this on my cheeks and it’s a really rich plum colored tone that’s perfect for fall! Finally, I set everything with the #N°7 - Lift & Luminate Powder[products]#[FourStars] this powder is amazing!! It’s so finely milled and perfect for under the eyes and all over the face. I always carry this in my work bag to powder during the day if I get oily. I love that these products are so versatile and I can almost get a full face (minus mascara)!

We are making progress, folks
Just hopping on to say that the addition of a couple of new products into my routine has been a real game-changer! 1. I have been consistently using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin as my nightly cleanser and I love it! 2. L'ORÉAL - Pure Clay Purity Mask is one of my favorite things. It smells really nice (hard to describe the smell, but it’s very pleasant), visibly shows where it is soaking up your excess oils, and leaves my skin feeling suuuuper soft and refreshed. I’ve noticed that my nose, which was typically dry on top and oily on the sides, is much more balanced now. 3. I suffer from allergies, which causes me to rub my eyes a bunch. I am sure that this is causing premature wrinkles under my eyes, so I wanted to do something about it (and combat any dark circles in the meantime)! It’s only been about a week since I’ve started using CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream, so I can’t definitively vouch for or against it yet. ⭐️⭐️ My next task is to purchase The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%to tackle my pores and acne scars. Stay tuned!! ⭐️⭐️

How I Saved My Skin
I never had acne until I graduated high school and it was caused from a chemical burn that I got from some of the products that I have been using for years. After changing my routine several times I finally found some thing that not only keeps my acne away but helps clear any scarring or dark spots that I have as a result of it. I love every single one of these products, they are all affordable and actually work. I have sensitive skin and eczema around my eye and mouth area. My skins never felt better

Not a fan :(
I have only been using the CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 for about two weeks, but I’m already not a huge fan. I have very fair skin, so this stuff makes me look orange :( I was very disappointed because CeraVe advertised this in a way that made me believe this would blend into ALL skin tones, but clearly this is false. It also makes me look more oily after I apply it, but I guess that is to be expected with any spf. I will say, this would work for anyone with more of a tan skin tone. My sister is pretty tan and when she tried it, it looked perfect on her. Not a bad product overall, just didn’t work for me. I honestly expected better :( • If anyone has any tips on how to get rid of the orange tint it leaves on my face, please let me know! I would also love some recommendations for good mineral sunscreen (tinted or not) that is not visible on fair skin!

Empties Mini Reviews
✨EMPTIES✨ • CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. I love this product. This is maybe my 10th bottle. It’s lightweight, hydrating, full of beneficial ingredients and none of the unnecessary stuff. This isn’t quite heavy enough for my dry skin to use in PM but I love it for AM use under my sunscreen. Oily / Combo skin friends will love this as a PM moisturizer. ✅ Will definitely repurchase. • Benton Deep Green Tea Toner. Full of antioxidants and calming ingredients. It’s hydrating but super light weight. Great for people with oily skin, acne, or irritation. ✅ Would repurchase. • CeraVa Hydrating Sunscreen (Sheer Tint). This leaves a nice glow and is super comfortable to wear. However, the formula could use some improvement. It transfers VERY easily and doesn’t stay on the skin. A lot of my clothes ended up with this smeared on them. It is also not a great tint, pretty dark / orange hued - people with fair skin should stay clear. I wish they would come out with more tints. The bottle also got clogged up easily and made a huge mess around the top. ❌ Wouldn’t repurchase. • Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer. I Love the feeling of the moisturizer. It is like a big gulp of water for my dry and dehydrated skin. It contains many skin barrier supportive ingredients. This products only downfall is the price. I think I could find other hydrating water cream moisturizers for a more cost effective price. ✅ Would repurchase (if I can’t find a dupe 😜). Have you tried any of these products? Which is your fave? Much love to you, friends!🌻

What’s new, what stayed, and what left! 2020🍾
What Stayed🍾 Cooluli Skincare Fridge: Cooluli - Classic 4 Liter Small Mini Fridge I adore my little fridge! It feels so good to have chilled serums, especially in the morning! I love it so much that I’m thinking I’m going to get a bigger one so I can add more products in! Truly a must have for a skincare lover! Also, the fridge can warm up products too! Tokyo Milk TOKYOMILK - Let Them Eat Cake Lip Balm I have such dry lips, and this is the only balm that actually save them! I got gifted one of their balms while I was in the hospital after surgery, and this completely fixed my dry lips! It truly passed such a big test. Native NATIVE - Travel Sample Pack For YEARS I wanted a natural deodorant that worked. I tried al lathe main brands and didn’t like any of them. At one point I even resorted to trying and make my own!! This is the answer! I will do a personal review soon, but this is the best deodorant I’ve ever tried natural or not! Billie billie - Billie Razor Billie is such an important company! They said no to the pink tax and yes to people decided when and if they want to grow their body hair! If you haven’t seen their commercial you really should, it was beautifully done! 🤩 The only complaint is that I wish I could make the razor shipments more spaced out than they offer, but I can always manually do that. Just a matter of remembering! What’s New🍾 The Ordinary The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I FINALLY got these products! I will not lie, they kinda scare me, I am afraid of using them wrong, but so far I haven’t and my skin LOVES it! There are so many great reviews on these products that go into the science of it all, so definitely go check out what others are saying! Finch Berry FINCH BERRY - Year of Soap Set If you have not checked out my monthly soap updates you absolutely should! I have loved doing this series so much! These soaps smell so amazing and look good enough to eat!!! The comments I get saying that people want to taste them always make me laugh, because I feel the exact same way! They are great vegan soaps that I love reviewing! Flamingo flamingo - flamingo Daily Moisturizing Lotion Cherie sent me some Flamingo products and I am OBSESSED! Between you and me I hate lotion ing my body. I know! What kind of skin care person am I?! 🤭 These products feel so incredible though, that I want to! What left🍾 Avon I do not have anyone to buy from in my town, and the products are wildly expensive for what you get! You can find better deals on similar or better things through Cherie!

#nomorepigmentation
Let’s first start with a major component in “preventing” pigmentation which is sunscreen. It prevents photo damage that leads to brown spots and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My absolute favorite sunscreen and the one I have been using personally for 10 years is elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Retinoids- They work by increasing the rate of cell turnover. It helps to fade dark spots, acne marks, melasma, sun spots, and liver spots. Just be careful since retinoids can also cause irritation and redness, you don’t want to cause any more pigmentation to your skin. A good over the counter retinoid is DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump which once used to be a prescription, is now available over the counter. Glycolic acid- A popular ingredient used in many skincare products because it works so well at reducing discoloration, getting rid of dead skin cells, and creating new skin cells. It keeps pores clean and reduces hyperpigmentation. A favorite, super affordable, and one I also use personally is The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Be careful because it may not be suitable for all especially sensitive and darker skin types. Azelaic acid- Believed to work just as good as hydroquinone. It speeds up cell turnover and reduces inflammation. A great acid for all skin types and even safe to use during pregnancy. A great option is PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I love adding a drop or two to my moisturizer. Vitamin c- A holy grail ingredient for many and myself. A vital component of any skincare routine. Vitamin C works a lot like retinol, inhibiting the production of melanin. Not only does it lighten dark spots, it helps to brighten your complexion. Vitamin C helps to prevent hyperpigmentation, and is most helpful when used in the AM. My absolute favorite hands down is SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum I have yet to find me a better vitamin c serum. Kojic acid- This also like retinol and vitamin c reduces the production of melanin. This ingredient is also a favorite in products because of how well it works to even skin tone, treat acne and acne marks. A favorite product SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid Alpha Arbutin- it works by decreasing the activity of melanocytes. Alpha Arbutin is known to safely and visibly brighten skin and fade pigmentation. It reduces melanin formation, improves appearance of age spots, freckles, melasma, and post inflammatory pigmentation. An amazing and affordable product is THE inkey LIST - Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum It is a great simple formulation, and super affordable. Incorporate one or more of these ingredients into your skincare routine to achieve great results in reducing pigmentation

Winter Routine for DRY Skin
My cheeks have been SO dry lately. It’s been a struggle to keep my sensitive combo skin hydrated with the change in weather. I’ve thus made a couple swaps from my summer routine to keep my skin moisturized and not flakey. 🌬I swapped my trusty jojoba oil in the morning for a light application of Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream (I use about half the amount I use at night- just enough to get an even layer) 🌬I went back the old CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser from their new CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser . Although I like the new version better, I just need every scrap of hydration I can get right now. 🌬Lastly, I recently started applying a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment over my cheeks at night (post on this coming soon!) In short, my routine is now: 🌤 rinse, hydrating toner, moisturizer, spf 🌙 double cleanse, moisturizer*, ointment as needed *I swap my Ceramidin for MAELOVE - Night Renewer 2x / week

HOW TO GET YOUR MAN ON A SKIN CARE ROUTINE!💞
Me being the skin care junkie that I am, my boyfriend is forced to listen to me rant about products, sales, ingredients, & my good (and bad) skin days. Eventually, I dragged him into liking it to! (kind of). I've peaked his interest...and now he understands the concept & importance of skin health. Eventually he started a routine, & now enjoys it! He has resilient, combo skin with an occasional blemish, but overall his skin is pretty good! He just needs the basics, no crazy treatments or harsh products. Just a cleanser, SPF, and moisturizer. He's been using the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion and the CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 The cleanser isn't abrasive & stripping like his previous Neutrogena Deep Scrub! 😳 Also, the Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid in these reduced his pores, redness, & smoothed his skin. And now he's using SPF too!! 😆 These are fast absorbing, light-weight, quality products perfect for his skin! 💯 I promise, they're ways to get your man to start a skin care routine too, without forcing him to watch Hyram... Don't over-complicate it! 🗯 Simple is best. You don't want to overwhelm him, or make it seem long & time-consuming. Don't choose products with girly packaging! 💟 If he's into it, then go for it! But most of the time those girly, shiny products with cute names don't sound appealing to them. Especially just getting into it. He needs to realize it's about skin health!🏥 Let him know its just a way of taking care of yourself. And that makeup and skincare are different things! Because my boyfriend would mix them up all the time. I honestly don't think he knew the difference...which made him more hesitant. Do it together!👥 If you guys live together, start dedicating time in the bathroom before you go to bed to just unwind. Have him try your products, or do a skin care routine together! Make it enjoyable and a memorable experience, so it sets a positive impression. Consistently show him products and explain what they do! 🧴🧼 What peaked my boyfriends interest was me talking to him about products all the time, & what they fix! I would catch him complaining about his skin over a pimple or redness, and I would tell him about an ingredient or product that would help that issue. It intrigued him! Consider fragrance free, light-weight products that fit his skin type! ✅ The biggest complaint I hear from guys and skin care is that it feels greasy, heavy, or sticky. The purfumey smell is a big one too. So avoid those things. And make sure to talk to him about his skin type & properly match what products would be best for him! Make sure he STAYS on the routine. Remind him about it, & don't forget to compliment his skin! 💞 I still try to remind my boyfriend, but at this point he always remembers. Also, COMPLIMENT his skin!! If he's starting a routine, he wants to know you see results. He wants to look good in your eyes!

Day 9 of accutane
Hey a lil update! I don’t have any new pimples, and my face is starting to look clearer, I didn’t think by day 9 I’d see such a big difference! I’ve started to use some new products as well as sticking with my faves : Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser (New) It’s less harsh on my face than all the other cleansers I have, normally something like this wouldn’t cleanse my skin enough. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (fave) the only moisturizer that doesn’t make me breakout and provides surface and below the surface hydration ORIGINS - Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel (new) makes pimples go away fast (at least while on accutane) URIAGE - Bariéderm Cica-Cream with Copper-Zinc (fave) for my extra dry crusty spots like around my nose or mouth SUNPLAY - Skin aqua UV moisture milk (the blue one) (fave fave fave) love this sunscreen with my whole heart, it’s so moisturizing and provides a pretty glow, and no white cast at all, it has a milky look to it but blends out without a trace! It’s beyond amazing. LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask - Mint Choco Chip (new) smells great, I’ve been using this as lip balm because my lips are so chapped. It’s not the most amazing lip balm(I prefer aquaphor) but this is nice if you want a scent

The Ordinary!!! What do I use?!
I recently saw a dermatologist, and aside from prescribing me tretinoin, she was little help regarding products + their use. Since switching from Curology, I now use: Tretinoin .025% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and sometimes a tiny bit of The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%mixed with The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I’m still using my Curology - The Cleanserbecause I have a fair bit left, though it seems to make my face feel a bit dry. Suggestions are welcomed!!! My sunscreen varies between Neutrogena - Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 , PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+or PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Skin Restoring Moisturizer SPF 50 I’ve also (impulsively) purchased: The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA(it burns) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution(never used) The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution(never used) So, long story short I did the thing where I bought 1 mil products, thinking I needed an array of options. Now I own too many products—more than I’ll ever reasonably get through, and many of which I don’t know how to use properly. Perhaps I can make a couple of posts about a few different products I have? Hm. I’ve yet to figure out a solid AM/PM routine. And the serums I’ve been using regularly pill up. I asked my derm for advice/guidance, and my ask was for naught. She advised against the azelaic acid, even though it has been part of my Curology formula for months. My main goal in switching from Curology to The Ordinary was to save money, but I’ve surely spent way more than I need to at this point. Regardless, I’d still like to use the products I have! But I don’t know what I’m doing. Can anyone who knows more than I do (all of you, basically) make me an AM/PM routine with the products I listed?

Beauty Year-in-Review 2020 🍒🌹
This all about 2020 New launch skincare that I love most for lifetime and some find that was never expected. 👍🏻 With a blink of an eye, November is about to over . The bright side? Fall always brings an enormous hall of beauty launches, and this year, they're ridiculously good. 📌 There's something about skin care that just soothes our souls. Maybe it's the sense of normalcy that a routine brings, or maybe it's that spark of joy when discovering a new ingredient — it can be an escape from the chaos and the unknown. 📌skin care can be intimidating — there are so many products out there. And with such a wide range of options comes a lot of questions. 🔗When you take skincare as seriously as we do, you're always on the hunt for the next generation of game-changing skincare products. 📌You know the ones—those holy-grail, often best-selling products that not only cut down on time getting ready, but also restore your skin to its most glowy, angelic state (you know, what dreams are made of). 🔐Well, you read round-ups like this—so you're already ahead of the curve. Then, you weigh your options and spend accordingly, because good skincare is an investment. 🗞It's all about whatever works for your skin type, which is unlike anyone else's. 📚 Hyaluronic acid, for instance, is always a good idea (and pops up in many of our faves). The same goes for niacinamides, salicylic acid, AHAs, and retinols. From cleansers and balms to concentrates and masks, and get ready for a lifetime of five-star reviews of your complexion. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution

🌞good morning glow🌞
Hello beauties! I wanted to share my morning routine with you all now that I *finally*seem to have one down. My nighttime routine uses a lot of actives but I like to keep it relatively simple in the morning and it has paid off! 🌊LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I feel like every skin care junkie has a part of the routine that they find themselves drawn to product-wise and mine is definitely the cleansing step! I use many cleansers but I wanted to share this one since it’s my favorite for the morning. This one is incredible, a short, amazing ingredient list, a nice milky consistency that leaves my skin feeling refreshed. Who could ask for more to start the day? 🦋cosmedica SKINCARE - Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum To prevent stripping my skin in the morning and compromising my repairs from the night before, I always make sure to apply some hyaluronic acid immediately after cleansing. For the price and it’s efficacy it’s definitely worth it, however it’s not the most luxurious hyaluronic acid product out there! ✨The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Liquid. Gold. I upgraded to the 2 oz bottle because I have become obsessed with this product in the last six months. I have noticed less redness throughout the day, less sebum production in my T-zone, and a gradual evening of my skin texture. I can not live without this product! 🌸HADALABO - Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel Cream I had just run out of my Honest Beauty hydrogel cream so I sort of got this one on a whim after watching a Dr. Dray video. I can not get enough of this product! The gel texture for the morning is exactly what my skin craves and yet the gel doesn’t just feel like water, it blends like a cream. My skin instantly looks refreshed and plump after applying. I am excited to see the long term effects! 🌱e.l.f. - All the Feels Facial Oil All hail cannabis! I was absolutely floored by this product. This was *another* impulse buy but for $12 I didn’t feel too guilty about it and now I’m so happy I sprung for it! I love using this on top of my moisturizer in the colder mornings for a little something extra. This sinks in so nicely and keeps me hydrated all day while delivering a beautiful glow to my skin. I’ll be keeping this around all fall and winter long! 🎍PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ There were days before this sunscreen, and there are the days now. This product has been such a game changer in how I look at sunscreen. I used to abhor putting on sunscreen because it felt thick and pasty and made me look like Casper the ghost. This one sinks in like a moisturizer and leaves absolutely no white cast. This is my second bottle and I’ll be looking forward to purchasing this again OR trying the #PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block[products]# next! That’s my morning routine! Thanks y’all 💕✨🥰

Adding The Ordinary into my routine!
Skin type: combination??? I think? 😂 Above are three photos, before, during, and after of 1 month using 2 products from The Ordinary! Disclaimer: my routine still includes a few products off brand from The Ordinary, but here is my take on it! The first product I added was the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Pro: I was told that this serum would hydrate my skin and help smooth some of the textured skin I have from my large pores, and I have to say, it did not disappoint! I did go through a small purging phase, I think, but it was hard to tell because I am constantly dealing with acne where my mask sits. I have to weak a mask for the majority of my days, and I am sadly very prone to the maskne :(((( Using this serum, though, with my salicylic acid cleanser has definitely helped speed up the healing process for my acne! Cons: I will say, the consistency is a bit goopy in my opinion, and I’ve noticed that since I started to use this product, my forehead has never been more oily... I’ve never had this issue before in my life, so I’m not sure what’s going wrong there. But nothing a few blot sheets can’t fix! The second product I incorporated was the The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' Pro: If you can see in the first photo, I had a lot of pigmentation issues with red splotches all over my cheeks/cheekbone area. The Buffet has definitely helped to fade that issue, as well as brighten my skin. I feel like these two products go so well together to fade my blemishes and keep my complexion nice and even! Cons: Like the Hyaluronic Acid, the Buffet also leaves a bit of a sticky residue. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I have heard that this issue can cause piling if you wear makeup. Just something to keep in mind. — Sadly, I only recently started to change my whole skincare routine to nice serums, creams, etc. while we’ve been in the middle of the pandemic. So I still find that I will have HORRIBLE skin days due to the masks I have to constantly wear as a student still having classes in person, running errands, etc. Some days it feels like everything skin related that I’ve been working towards for months just completely cancel out when my face starts to break out, my skin dulls, or my pores just keep expanding. But it’s definitely been a journey and I just hope that it will eventually get better, even with the bad days! To touch on the pores, as you can probably see in those photos, mine are HUGE and they somehow always seem to clog only hours after I do my routine :( I have learned recently that a lot of it has to do with excess sebum, so to counteract that, I purchased the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I’ve heard mixed opinions, but at this point, I’m willing to try anything to reduce my pores around my nose and cheeks. I will update that process in a month or so!

Sephora Sale: tried & true with some new! 🛍
If you haven’t yet stopped by Sephora for the holiday sale, make sure you do! The sale ends 11/9 and Beauty Insiders get 10% off, VIBs have 15% off, and Rouges have 20% off! Shop soon to take advantage of the sale for holiday shopping or a treat for yourself! TATCHA - The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer - I absolutely love this primer! As a person with combination skin, I try to not use heavy primers so that my pores aren’t clogged and my makeup doesn’t last, but this primer is so light. In addition to making your skin look great by blurring pores and lines while reducing oil, the floral fragrance and packaging are beautiful. On light makeup days, I love wearing this, spot concealer, and a light round of setting powder as a base. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner - This is a new find for me that I picked up the other day and have already seen incredible results from! My typical combination skin has been dry in patches on my forehead and nose making it hard for me to wear foundation and or see any effects from my other skincare products. I decided to change my toner after seeing some reviews of this online and I’m so glad I picked it up. The fragrance is minimal, if any at all, and the hydrating properties are simply incredible. My skin feels smooth and the dry flakes have vanished over two days. Yesterday, I was able to wear my foundation for the first time since the summer without my skin feeling tight or having to slather on moisturizer. If you struggle with dry skin, take advantage of the squalane in this toner to revamp your skin! NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer - I purchased this concealer after hearing Mikayla rave about it on tik tok and needing a replacement for my benefit - Benefit Boi-Ing Industrial Strength Concealer that I’ve used for about a year! In comparing the NARS and Benefit, the NARS concealer has about twice the product! I’m incredibly pleased with this concealer’s ability to blend into the skin, be matte while not drying, and the pot packaging! If you’re looking for something to coverup a spot here and there, this is it. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum - I have an undying love for fresh products that began with thefresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 about two years ago. Since then, I have tried thefresh - Rose Face Mask , fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , fresh - Lotus Anti- Aging Daily Moisturizer , and many more. This product is no exception and is one that is hydrating while not greasy. I’m totally aware that oil in the name can be unappealing, but it provides a nice healthy glow, softens, soothes, and absorbs so quickly. This is great face serum/oil that I recommend to people with dry, combination, normal skin and those who are not sensitive to fragrance.

These Toners change my skin
🌼In honor of Toner Thursday here is my Toner Collection 🌼One of my favorite chemical exfoliants is the Kale-lalu-yAHA from @kravebeauty. It has glycolic acid but is still very gentle on my skin. It is packed with antioxidants which help with discoloration, skin texture and clogged pores. Definitely helping me #pressreset on my skincare journey. 🌼Next is the BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% from @naturiumskin. It is formulated with salicylic acid which exfoliates and brightens skin, while also unclogging pores. I use this in the morning and it’s very effective 🌼Next is the @freshbeauty Deep hydration Facial Toner. I bought this because I wanted to try products from Fresh Beauty, and I was quite disappointed by this toner. The smell is slightly overpowering and I did not see any changes to my skin. I also did not get any extra hydration, so I would not be purchasing this product again, if I ever finish this bottle. 🌼Finally is the GlycolicAcid 7% from The ordinary. I only use this if I need to treat really bad spots on my skin which I don’t get as often anymore. So I use this maybe once a month. 🌼What is your favorite Toner? . . . . . . . #tonerthursday #naturium #naturiumskin #freshbeauty #theordinary #kravebeauty #skinroutine #deciem #skincarecommunity #skincarecollection #skincare101#affordableskincare #skincare #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #skincareblog #skincareblogger #ihaveathingforskincare #vitaminc #selfcare #glowingskin #deciem #skincarecommunity #skinessentials #skinessential #skincarereview #skincareregimen #skincareaddict #skininsta #hyperpigmentation #acne #discoverunder1k #towerthursday

✨🌸 What's in my bathroom? 🌸✨
Hey everyone! This is my first post! 🥰 I decided to start off with this kind of post because this batch of skincare is my first ever! (I have only been consciously aware of my skincare for about two months now) So I'm always reevaluating my routine 😅 My skin type: combination;mostly dry but specifically oily in the creases of my nose. Prone to sensitivity, redness, and dehydration. Lets talk products! ♡CLEANSERS♡ Dr.Ceuracle - Pro Balance Pure Cleansing Oil Love this gentle oil cleanser! I only occasionally wear mascara(not waterproof) and it takes that off no problem with zero eye irritation! ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Cleansing Foam Amazing, gentle, pure foam cleanser! Does not feel drying or make my skin tight after use, even without my oil cleanser! Pyunkang Yul - Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam I have only used this about 3 times; each time after use I seem to get slight irritation, but doesn't last longer than 10-15 minutes or the rest of my products calm it down. ♡TONERS♡ pixi - Rose Tonic I love the rose smell(natural fragrance) and it can be a bit sticky after applying but doesn't bother me. pixi - Vitamin-C Tonic I feel like this toner is a great introduction to Vit C in skincare. I have "virgin" skin so this even tingles a little, but zero irritation even when I do 2-3 layers. COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Very hydrating exfoliating toner and it leaves my skin so soft. This does not irritate my sensitive skin at all!(I only use 1-2 times a week) Pyunkang Yul - Essence Toner Honestly underwhelmed for the hype I heard about it. Still giving it a chance. Fleur & Bee - Rose and Shine / Natural Rose Water Toner Just a convenient hydrating mist. ♡SERUMS/OILS♡ Pyunkang Yul - Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum Very nice to apply, great for layering Krave - Great Barrier Relief 100% WORTH THE HYPE essano - Certified Rosehip Oil I can't rate this yet(only used once so far) but overall first application was soothing! ♡MOISTURIZERS♡ Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream Personally not hydrating enough alone for my dry skin, but a great base cream for me to layer with others due to the clean ingredients list. Pyunkang Yul - Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream Great cream; however, the lid does have some black flakes of something that fall into the product when screwing it on and off. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Mediocre gel cream, not hydrating enough for me and the ingredients aren't the greatest. ANDALOU NATURALS - Luminous Night Cream Purple Carrot + C I love the thickness of this, but sometimes I wake in the morning with a weird tight flilmy feeling on my face. #Murad - Age Reform Perfecting Night Cream[products]# Honestly just bought this because it was on clearance😅 so we'll see how it goes Up next: my first detox mask, my sunscreens and a natural deodorant! ♡🌸✨

My Skincare Dream Team
Right now I don't have a job, and I don't have a steady income, so all my skincare gifts and money comes from birthdays and Christmas. I plan on getting a job soon so the things I ask for from others, hopefully, I can get for myself. Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating TreatmentRight now I don't have an exfoliator in my skincare right now. The best thing I have is an Exfoliating sand thing my mom bought. From using this I have noticed little to no difference in my skin. I want to try a chemical exfoliation but if my skin doesn't enjoy it then I will go the physical route. THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant SerumRight now I have a vitamin C serum that works on brightening my skin but there are a few setbacks. (I'll do a review soon) This serum just seems better overall and I would love the change in pace. COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment TonerMost of the products on this list are things I need to replace our things I don't have. A timer is one of those things I don't have that I feel like I would need for my skin. Right now my skin is dull and patchy, I feel that this would help my problems. pixi - Rose TonicPixi - Rose Tonic Again, things I don't have, and I always want to have more than one option so I’m not disappointed if I’ve doesn’t work, I always have a backup. This tonic was recommended by James Welsh for combo skin. I know sent is a worry for most but most of my products are unscented. On top of that, my skin isn’t very sensitive to sent. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionThis is my most wanted product. Like I said, I would love to try a chemical exfoliant. This one is the best-reviewed, Hyram and James approved, and just look fun. THE BODY SHOP - Drops Of Youth Youth ConcentrateThis one is the only one I want that i have used before. My mom got a sample when she went to the body shop and I have been hooked since.

What kind of Acne is this!?
I may believe this could be hormonal acne due to my recent birthcontrol i got about 2 month's ago. I have the Mirena IUD. I do, in fact, wash my face EVERY morning/night. Before the IUD my facial skin was GREAT with not really any pimples. I wash my face with warm water using the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily CleanserNeutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (foaming one) Then, i use Clean&Clear - Acne Triple Clear Exfoliating Facial Scrub about 2/3x a week. i also use, The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 2x a week. i recently started using The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution about a week ago but i only use it Wednesday's when i don't use any other products to wash my face other than the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, and i only use The Ordinary Peeling Solution on Wednesday at night. I then Lastly, follow up with CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and night. I'm not sure why i brake out when i wash my face every morning and night and my boyfriend doesn't wash his face at all (only in showers) and he does not have breakouts like me 😭 oh the joy's of being a female and having to deal with hormonal acne. P.S soo sorry for the embarrassing photos of me and my ugly horrible acne breakouts 💩 im sure im noy the only one!

Rosacea PM routine (on a budget)
I was never concerned about skincare routine until I found out I have rosacea. But it was not until recently that I started being more intentional about it (@cherie helped a lot ♥️). I didn’t review TO Niacinamide, the TO Azelaic Acid or the Cerave PM facial lotion yet. I just started to use. I’ll review them on another post after 6 weeks of my routine. 1 Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser I use this cleanser for a while now. It’s really gentle to my skin and it doesn’t make it tight 2 VICHY - Mineralizing Thermal Water Spray Rich in 15 Minerals it’s not always on my routine. I just used it when the rosacea flares up or I feel my face too hot 3 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%Like the Azelaic Acid, I just started so I wanna wait at least 6 weeks to see the results 4 The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%👆🏼 5 CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion👆🏼 6 #Trader Joe’s - Hydrating Hyaluronic Body Gel Cream[products]#[FiveStars] I use this on my body and not face. I simply love it, it’s a total game changer. I wrote a review about it on another post 😉 I also to add an oil to the routine. Thoughts?

Review my AM routine for acne-prone skin
Review my AM routine for acne-prone skin
My current AM routine consists of a mix of products I’ve used for a long time and products I recently started using. I’m noticing improvements with the addition of the new products already, and it’s only been 4-5 days. Here’s the breakdown on each product: Cleanser: Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser In a previous post I had rated this cleanser a 5/5; however, I recently learned that this product contains several ingredients that are irritants, allergens, hormone disrupters and/or carcinogens. This has knocked my rating down. I have not experienced any negative effects using this cleanser in the past and I have been using it for over 1 year. I am considering looking for an alternative product after what I found in my research. Toner: VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW I recently started using this product and I am happy with the results so far. I am on day 5 currently and I feel like I am seeing brighter skin. I am skeptical of toners and this is the first one I have used in years. So far, so good! Acne treatment: #CVS Health - Targeted acne spot treatment 2.5 % benzoyl peroxide acne medication[products]#[FiveStars] this is a generic version of a product I’ve posted about previously. It’s perfect for spot treatment or all over use in acne-prone areas due to the lower percentage of benzoyl peroxide. This product was recommended by my current dermatologist to treat my acne. It works just as well as the name brand and is less expensive. Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I am loving this serum so far! I’m on day 4 and I am noticing improvements in oil production and the appearance of my pores and acne marks already. It can feel a smidge sticky going on but otherwise I have zero complaints with this product! Eye Cream: OLAY - Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Treatment Eye Transforming Cream I really like this eye cream. I feel like it always brightens up my under eye area and I have relatively few wrinkles and puffiness in the area thanks to this cream. My only complaint is that I wish it was cheaper. Moisturizer: Cetaphil - Facial Hydrating Lotion This is another product that I had rated higher in a previous post. I have been using this moisturizer for over a year and was disappointed when I found out that it contains ingredients that are allergens, irritants and/or hormone disrupters. I’ve never experienced negative effects with this product;however, I’m now considering looking for an affordable alternative. Otherwise, I have always loved this light yet ultra hydrating lotion. Lip moisturizer: Aquaphor - Lip Repair, Stick, Immediate Relief, Fragrance Free, 1 Stick I love aquaphor! It’s been keeping my lips smooth and moisturized for years. I recently switched from using the ointment to the lip stick and I’m loving it so far. Both work great at keeping my lips hydrated!

Critique a skincare newbie’s routine
Critique a skincare newbie’s routine
Skins problems: I tend to get mild Rosacea on my lower cheeks and develop tons of blockheads in the creases of my nose, chin and between eyebrows. Other than that I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and normal to dry everywhere else. Where I’m at... So I kinda feel down the rabbit hole into skincare the other month and have tried using a morning routine as follows: GARNIER - Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (Made my skin so smooth really quickly, love this one) CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Oil-Free Gel Neutrogena - Sheer Zinc Face Lotion SPF 50 (leaves a really bad white tint which I can’t seem to get rid of) And a nighttime routine as follows: CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Liquid Facial Soap (leaves my skin a bit tight-feeling) PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator (I think it’s working I just can’t really tell) CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin (a bit drying but I don’t want to waste the product) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (Made my skin so smooth really quickly, love this one) CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Oil-Free Gel Outcomes so far: My skin is overall more hydrated and smoother but I still find black dots in my problem areas. Plea for help I have seen improvements but I feel like I don’t quite know what I’m doing and could use some external input. Plz feel free to add any (and I mean any) tips or critique. Thank youuuuuuu

Help!!
Help!!
Ok so i need help making a skin care routine here’s the tea sorry it’s so long to read. I used to only wash my face with a spectro gel cleanser and use a cetaphil moisturizer every day and call it a day and my skin is starting to get bad again. I used to have really bad skin and tons of acne but it cleared up with birth control and age i guess. I still have some pretty big pores and dark spots and dark under eyes and i recently ordered a whole cetaphil skin care routine. It seems to be making my skin worse making little bumps on my forehead. I’m using the cetaphil foaming face wash, cetaphil daily scrub, followed by elf super toner, then cetaphil night cream in the pm and the cetaphil daily moisturizer with 15 spf and cetaphil eye cream. I also ordered the ordinary serums, i ordered the niacinamide 10% +1% zinc and the alpha arbutin 2% + HA which haven’t arrived yet. Please help me build a good skincare routine, i don’t mind spending money on better products but i don’t want to buy things that don’t work. My skin is combination. Any suggestions on products that would work, and what cetaphil product is giving me bumps on my forehead? all the products except the spf i can’t find: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HACetaphil - Hydrating Eye Gel-CreamCetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming CleanserCetaphil - Cetaphil Facial Night CreamCetaphil - Extra Gentle Daily Scrube.l.f. - Supertone Toner

Blemishes + Dry Skin
Blemishes + Dry Skin
Hi! My main concerns are blemishes and dark spots, I have very dry skin so my breakouts are worse in the winter. I have large pores and I usually get pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I noticed that my forehead is also drier and my chin is darker than the rest of my face. Right now, my skincare routine only consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and micellar water. I only wash my face once a day (at night) since it gets flaky when I wash it twice, I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser which is effective for my skin. In the morning, I only use the Garnier Rose Micellar Water. I am looking for an alternative to my Pond’s dry skin cream since it’s oily and clogs my face. I am also thinking of trying The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and The Ordinary Squalane Oil. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

So I wanted to get a little more simple with my skin care. This routine has products I have used for a while, along with new products I am just starting to use. I have combination, more toward oily, skin that is super sensitive and acne prone. ☀️AM☀️ 1. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin - I’ve been using this for quite some time now and I love it. Can’t seem to ever part with it. 2. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff- Just adding this to my routine. Wanted to try it because it reduces puffiness and dark circles around the eye. 3. The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%- Also just adding this to my routine, but wanted to try because it’s a Vitamin C derivative that has smoothing and brightening benefits. 4. OLAY - Complete UV365 Daily Moisturizer SPF 30- FINALLY incorporating an SPF into my regimen for daily use. I chose this because it has SPF 30 and is specifically formulated for sensitive skin, since normally my skin does not respond too well to any type of SPF. 🌙PM🌙 1. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 2. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution- Just incorporated this into my routine because I heard it was good for acne prone skin because it gently exfoliates to produce clearer, less textures skin while protecting from aging. 3. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff 4.Curology - Curology formula - I’ve been using a Curology for a little over a year now and I have to say that this will be in my routine for a long time. I love it and this is the second formula I’m on. It has cleared up my acne so much and really is non existent except one or two small blemishes around that time of the month. 5. The Ordinary - ''Buffet''- this was probably one of my most anticipated products from The Ordinary. Wanted to try this because it targets visible signs of aging. 6. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%Thought this would be great to incorporate because of my skin type and I heard great reviews about it! 7. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer I’ve been using this moisturizer for a couple months and I really really like it. It’s so refreshing and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the heavy scent. 🗓Throughout the week🗓 1. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution- this was the other most anticipated product I wanted to try from The Ordinary! It seems to be right for my skin type and can’t wait to try it. 2. clarisonic - MIA 2 FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH - has this for years! I love it and use it once a week on OPPOSITE days of the AHA BHA peeling solution. Please rate my new routine and give suggestions/comments if you have any!

I work with animals and I love puppy kisses; but, they tend to take my foundation off. I’ve opted to not wearing any foundation at work because I don’t want it to be licked off. Are there any recommendations of products I could use to blur large pores.? The products I’ve tagged I use every morning along with a prescribed Dapsone cream. My pores have gotten significantly smaller but I love having a full makeup look. I’m used to full glam so it is hard for me to cut back at work!
