Brand Review: Innisfree

Innisfree is an eco-friendly brand that has been around since 2002. The company creates a whole bunch of products centered around different natural ingredients, like aloe vera, volcanic clay, and green tea. Most, if not all, of their products are pretty affordable so even students can afford them. In fact, I personally have plenty of experience using Innisfree products from my high school and university days. I’ve already tried several products from this brand, including two that I’m still using right now. I’ll list some of them here: 1. innisfree - Pore Clearing Facial Foam
I’ve been using this since I was a student at university. It’s been renamed so many times but the base product is practically the same. It makes my skin feel squeaky clean, which I really like, haha. Only downside is that it’s also incredibly drying so make sure you follow it up with a good moisturizer. 2. innisfree - Innisfree Intensive Long Lasting Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++
This is my go-to sunscreen when I want to go out. I use it under my powder or my makeup but it never makes my skin oily or greasy. It also has SPF50+ PA++++ so I know I’m well-protected from harmful UV rays. 3. innisfree - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask
I used to apply clay masks every week or so when I was still a student. My choice of mask was this baby from Innisfree. It’s kinda hard to apply at first and it hardened pretty quickly, but on the upside, it always made my skin feel smooth and soft afterwards. 4. innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder
I’m actually not a huge fan of makeup, so most of the time, you’ll probably just see me with a powder on and maybe some lip tint. No Sebum Powder was my go-to powder as a student. It was great at hiding oiliness around mid-day. However, I found it too expensive for such a small amount of product so I had to switch to another brand. 5. innisfree - Bija Trouble Spot Essence
I got this I think around 3 years ago when I was still looking for an effective spot treatment for pimples. Unfortunately, it didn’t really work for me. This is probably the only Innisfree product that I found pretty disappointing. For the most part, Innisfree products are affordable and effective products that can help you deal with various skin concerns. Plus, if you’re looking for eco-friendly skincare, you should probably give this brand a try! 💋

Best Sunscreen: Innisfree, 3W Clinic, Vaseline?
I have combination skin that tends to develop dark spots. I also suffer from dullness, so I always try my best to make my skin as bright as possible. Obviously, this also means using sunscreen whenever I’m outside. I’ve tried out three different sunscreens so far and here are my thoughts about them! The first one I want to talk about is Vaseline - Healthy White SPF 30 PA++ Serum which is technically a body serum but is also used as a sunscreen. It has SPF30 PA+++ and promises “flawless skin all over”. What I like the most about it is that it has a water-based formulation that is very lightweight and non-greasy. In fact, I don’t really feel anything when I have this on my face, which is a major plus. Lastly, I bought this for only $3 for 70ml, a really affordable price for a good product. The second one I tried is 3W CLINIC - Intensive UV Sunblock Cream It has SPF 50 PA++++, almost twice as much as Vaseline’s. It contains aloe extract and arbutin, two ingredients that can soothe and brighten tired skin. The formulation is also non-greasy, although if you compare it to Vaseline’s, it’s a lot heavier and you can definitely feel it on your skin. I also had to use powder more often with this on since it triggered my oily areas. This is also fairly cheap at $6 for 70ml. The third one, and the one I’m currently using now, is innisfree - Innisfree Intensive Long Lasting Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ This is actually one of three variants, the other two being Intensive Triple Care and Intensive Anti-Pollution. I chose this variant because I’m not a fan of re-application, if I have to reapply something I’d probably just forget it. Similar to 3W Clinic’s, it also has SPF 50+ PA++++. It’s not as lightweight as Vaseline’s but it’s definitely less sticky than 3W Clinic’s. It also doesn’t make me oily. Sadly, it’s the most expensive of the three, costing me roughly $13 for 50ml. If I were to rank these three, I’d say Innisfree goes first, followed by Vaseline, then 3W Clinic. That said, I still actually use all three! I use Vaseline on my body since it’s really cheap. Innisfree is the best but it’s quite expensive, so I only reserve it on days that I want to use makeup. If I’m just going to the beach or if I’m planning to play sports, I use 3W Clinic instead. What about you, what’s your favorite sunscreen? Have you tried any of these options? Let me know in the comments below!

oil-absorbing mineral powder ☆彡
this is my first and only powder i have used and it hasn’t disappointed! it’s a great, quick addition to your makeup/skin-care routine. the powder is minty, doesn’t clog your pores, and leaves your skin soft. since it does soak up sebum and has some soothing properties, it does help with acne a bit (a bonus). sebum is the excess oil created by the face that’s icky and we oily-skin types don’t want. on the contrary, it’s really universal and can be used for a lot of things. innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder use- i personally use this powder and it’s amazing even though i don’t wear makeup… this mineral powder blots oily skin extremely well. the powder itself isn’t heavy and is light-weight and it also has a very clean, matte effect. when i’ve been out all day and my skin looks oily, i can put some of this powder on and all of oily spots look completely natural and oil-free. the soaking power of this powder is wow. the puff that’s given inside of the powder is also really useful and is all you need to apply the powder. there isn’t really a scent to the powder; it smells natural. i usually apply this powder in the morning to the areas i know will get oily and it does leave the skin looking and feeling smooth. ingredients- this loose mineral powder is very basic in terms of ingredients. the only questionable thing about the formula is that it does contain fragrance, but, you can’t tell when you smell it. therefore, i believe there’s only a small amount of fragrance and it was definitely never noticeable/a problem. the superstar ingredient is Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (aka Green-Tea)! Green-Tea is an antioxidant and is very soothing so it’s definitely safe for sensitive skin types! skin type- this product can be used for all skin types but it’s mainly marketed for oily-skin types because of the sebum absorbing power. it’s safe and clean enough for sensitive skin (except for the fragrance), and they do come in mini sizes in case you want to test it before you buy it (that’s what i did)! it is light-weight so drier skin can use this as a setting powder if anything. i have fair skin but i’ve seen reviews where people say it doesn’t leave a white cast!

Cleansers: Skincare the Korean Way
Hey hey and another big heeeeeyyyyy~~~ So I'm back. Part 3? 4? I'm gonna go with part 4. Today is very important because I will be talking about the beginning of every skincare routine and arguably the most important VERY IMPORTANT part of every routine... CLEANSING!!! Cleansing is the best part of my day because after, I feel refreshed, clean, and literally 10x prettier (even if I’m not). ON TO THE CONTENT!!! 일단... First off... Take off your makeup. OFF WITH THE MAKEUP I TELL YOU!!! I use makeup wipes first, bur then I have to follow micellar water. Honestly, any one will do. I just use the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover because it was a gift from a fan (thank you Elle from the meet and greet~~). Next, I talk about this a alot. Soo'AE - HEMP DREAMS CLEANSING OIL I’ve talked about it and I will talk about it again. Literally melts all that nasty off. Not only does it deep cleanse, but it hydrates as well. Can’t say the same thing about most other oil cleansers I’ve tried. Oil cleansing is the first part of double (or triple) cleansing. This clears your face of oil based nasty like sebum, SPF, makeup, any surface level pollutants from outside, etc. Super important because foam, water based cleansers can’t get that out. Next, we have to follow with my favorite foam cleasners, super light and airy. NATURE REPUBLIC - Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser Talked about this earlier as well, super hydrating definitely has soothing effects. Since I tend to burn easily, if I have any redness from going outside, all gone once I’m done with this. The second cleanser I have to praise is the innisfree - Pore Clearing Facial Foam This stuff is heavenly. Not only does it deep cleanse my pores, it makes them seem smaller, absorbs any sebum, and also has a refreshing scent. All natural scent!!! The volcanic scoria dissolves after some time while washing your face. So the beads are not chemical or not a non-natural ingredient. It feels like you scrub your face, like a little bit, but it's also nice that the ingredient dissolves after awhile while washing your face. These are just some of my favorites, but of course you can use different products based on your skin type and your needs!!! I also recommend double cleansing by using an oil based cleanser and then a water based foam cleanser just because it’s better for my skin!!! Stay clean guys!!!

Luxurious Yet Affordable 💸
For this week’s Friyayfaves brought to you by @the__glow__girl 💞 I thought I would share with you all a product I have been testing out all week! Innisfree sent over their ℙ𝕠𝕣𝕖 ℂ𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝔽𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝔽𝕠𝕒𝕞 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕍𝕠𝕝𝕔𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕔 ℂ𝕝𝕦𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕤 for review & this product gets two thumbs up from me! I wouldn’t say I’m picky per say when it comes to cleansers, but I know what I like and don’t like, and this one has everything I look for / want in a cleanser : gives that squeaky clean feeling without feeling tight or that your skin has been stripped of its natural oils, lathers nicely, doesn’t have a strong overwhelming fragrance, and doesn’t leave any weird films on my skin. There is nothing lackluster about this cleanser - a little goes a long way, and you get a little over 5 oz of product which will last you a longgg time; this lathers into a luxurious foam that heightens the experience. There are little beads in the formula, but it’s actually the Jeju volcanic clusters! These clusters are filled with minerals that naturally act to absorb excess oil and impurities from pores. The only thing I didn’t care for is the scent, but you only smell it when applying it - once you wash it off, it’s gone; there is no lingering fragrance. It’s not a perfumey scent either - just smells earthy? Nothing bothersome what so ever! The best part? This cleanser is super affordable - you can find it for just $12 at Sephora 🤎 innisfree - Pore Clearing Facial Foam

Clean Beauty Mud Mask for Mondays
$16 for a piece of clean beauty from your top beauty store Sephora. It’s a purifying mud mask formulated to “cleanse the skin, absorb excess sebum, and unclogs pores for clearer, brighter, and mattified skin. It clarifies the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture.” On the product page after 28 days of use 86% found their pores unclogged. 86% noticed excess sebum was immediately reduced. I’m blown away. Those are pretty good figures and I’m dying to know if it’s going to work for me. Currently, I’m using korean beauty’s popular choice innisfree pore clearing clay mask. innisfree - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask Not that I’m looking for a permanent switch but it’s nice to opt for clean beauty options. Innisfree’s clay mask is slightly cheaper than the sephora option. Directions to apply: I used a facial silicone brush to sweep my face and neck. Avoid the eye area of course! Leave until fully dry and wash mask off with warm water. Since I have combination skin, this mask is good for being able to do its thing without stripping moisture. I’ve used it twice a week in a 2 week period and I already see the results. I see less stretched out pores but I can’t tell if that’s from my snail 🐌 use, the mask or the combination in itself. Whatever it is, it works for me! SEPHORA COLLECTION - Purifying Mud Mask: Clear & Mattify

Innisfree Pore Clay mask - K beauty
Innisfree Pore Clay mask - K beauty
🧖🏼‍♀️Product Function - Mask for refining pores and removing sebum. Product Target Concerns - This is a K-Beauty mask that should help people with oily skin, to make the skin less oily. Anyone who’s got an lily t-zone can use this. Texture/Consistency - It really looks like Mud and it’s so creamy. Its thick and applies nice and smooth on the skin. ✨My Opinion - This mask is to die for. It has the same effect as GlamGlow Supermud and its much cheaper! Very effective on acne and oily tzone. Easy to apply and remove and makes my skin feel fresh and squeaky clean. I love trying Korean cosmetics and this one is my holy grail. Would i recommend? Absolutely yes! For me it’s amazing and i use it everytime i think my skin can use something to make it less oily. Is it worth it? The price is not very high, especially when i compare it to the one from GlamGlow, it had the same effect but much cheaper, so i think it’s definitely worth it !

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clearing Clay Mask
Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clearing Clay Mask
First off I have to admit that purchasing the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clearing Clay Mask 2X was on impulse, which is something I always do 🤫 If you remember Innisfree’s collaboration with Toy Story, there’s this super cute Woody set that had the full size product of this mask, alongside some other samples. I’ve heard a ton of great things about this product previously (which explains why I just went for it when the collaboration dropped), but trying it out for the past year has really justified this purchase because it is surprisingly a great mask to use! 🧡 This mask is marketed as an “all-in-one pore caring solution” targeted at people with troubled skin and acne to help clear their complexion with regular use. It aims to do a triple exfoliation, removing sebum, blackheads, as well as other dirt and impurities on the face. Apart from this, it also tightens, smoothens, and brightens the skin at the same time. The texture of this mask is pretty interesting: in the tub the product looks like a very smooth clay mask. When you apply it though there are these little grains you can feel in the product; not too sure if they are walnut shells because I read somewhere that the product has walnut shells in them, but I’m not too sure. Even then this doesn’t bother me too much; but if you have sensitive skin you might want to stay away from this one. It has a very dense consistency, and unlike other clay masks, this works a lot better when you use a thin layer instead of a thick one. I’ve used this several times over the course of 1 year and I’m so proud to say that I’m close to finishing it! I actually really like this mask - while I cannot testify for its complexion-clearing benefits since I don’t really have very troubled skin, my face does feel thoroughly cleansed (in a good way!) and really really smooth after use. The most consistent I got to using this was once a week and in that period my skin did look a lot clearer than normal, so props to this mask 🙌🏼 Overall though I definitely would recommend this to my friends! I’m not sure how much this costs in varying countries, but locally this is really affordable at around 15 USD - the results are definitely more than worth this price tag in my opinion. Plus you get a sizeable amount of product with this too, and since you don’t need a lot to make this work, this tub will definitely last you a long time. innisfree - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask

Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask

Clay Masking tonight with Inni
Clay Masking tonight with Innisfree. 🌿 It’s my first time using the two color clay masks. One is for calming and the other for refining. I was only able to use the Jeju (on my cheeks and nose area) and Calming clay (on my forehead and chin) when I should have applied it all over my face instead of the Jeju.. to see if it really works. It’s hard to tell with just a small area on my forehead where I actually have a zit and it didn’t “calm” down. I’m gonna have to try it some more obviously. But that’s just my first impression. . . As for the Jeju Pore Clay Mask, I’ve had this since last year.. it’s a bit harder to apply now maybe because it’s old (??) the texture has gotten super thick and sticky.. if that makes sense. But I think it still works.. I’m not really sure.

Sheet Mask empties

🔸 Scentio
Sheet Mask empties 🔸 Scentio Sentinel Tree Anti-Aging Mask 🔸 - Claims to reduce excess oil and absorb dirt. - This isn’t for me. I don’t like the texture of the sheet mask which makes it really uncomfortable to wear.. - Bought from Beauty Buffet - I might not repurchase from this brand again - 2/5 🔸 Mediheal Collagen Impact Essential Mask 🔸 - Formulated with marine collagen and elastin to provide effective moisture and skin elasticity. Perfect for dehydrated skin! - I liked this mask! It was a bit too big for my face but it covered the areas which I think needed some moisture. - Upon removing, the sheet mask was still soaking wet. - 4/5 🔸 Tosowoong Dr. Troubex Sparkling Mask 🔸 - Soothing, anti-inflammatory face mask - Contains Centella asiatica extract and aloe vera leaf extract to help with redness and hydration balance - I enjoyed using this mask. I wish I had used it when I was on breakout season. haha - 4/5 🔸 TonyMoly Egg Pore Nose Pack 🔸 - Contains charcoal, camellia and egg white. - It claims to deeply cleanse pores and regulate oil production. - Meh. It didn’t do anything for me. It’s useless when it comes to deep stubborn blackheads. I applied this back when my blackheads were still one of my skin problems. Thank God those things are out of my life.. For now haha! - 2/5

A Solid Sleeping Mask
A Solid Sleeping Mask
I really like this COSRX - Ultimate Moisturizing Honey, Overnight Mask . I received it in a subscription box, and I did end up using the entire tube. Even though it’s an overnight mask it doesn’t have a heavy texture, rather it’s a lighter weight gel that layers well with night creams and facial oils. This is an especially great mask for acne prone skin, because 87.5% of the formula is propolis extract, which is soothing and nourishing to the skin while also having antibacterial properties. This wasn’t the richest overnight mask I’ve ever used, but I think this would be a home run for those with combination, acne prone skin. At $18 for a full-size tube, I recommend it to anyone with acne-prone skin or those who just love propolis as an ingredient
