The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary products all over the internet and people seem to really love their products ( and how affordable they are! ) This brand has helped tons of people so I wanted to try it out for myself. 😊 UPDATE: I’ve been using these for 2 weeks and my skin looks SO MUCH healthier and glowy!🙌 I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation and these are the products that I chose: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This is a glycolic acid toner meaning that it is a chemical exfoliant and in my opinion it’s better than a physical exfoliant because you’re not physically scrubbing away at your skin and with that being said, a slight stinging sensation is normal. This exfoliates, brightens, and promotes even tone and texture. You can use it Am + Pm just as long as you wear spf in the daytime. Best part is it’s only $8.70 CAD!🌸 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is a holy grail product for acne. It is a water based serum that greatly improves blemishes, enlarged pores, and oily skin. You can apply this Am + Pm without spf and I can’t wait to see how my skin gets better thanks to this serum! It’s only $5.90 CAD which is amazing for a product this effective!✨ (note: when applying, it does look a bit soapy because it is niacinamide but it blends out nicely) (Do not mix with vitamin C!!) The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% Aka vitamin C.. This has tons of benefits for your skin. It helps with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven tone, signs of age, and it is an antioxidant. It’s an oil based serum meaning it should be applied after water based products and before your moisturizer. You can apply Am + Pm ( with spf ) and remember that vitamin C shouldn’t be mixed with Niacinamide! 🦋 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Alpha Arbutin is a brightening serum, it fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It’s water based and can be used Am + Pm ( with spf ) and it’s only $8.90 CAD💐 The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA This is a super hydrating moisturizer! It has a bit of a thicker, creamy texture to it and my initial thoughts were that it was going to feel too heavy and greasy on my face but once it was all blended in, it felt pretty good! It’s not too shiny on the more oily areas of my face and it keeps the dry areas nice and hydrated. It’l definitely seal in all the goodness underneath:)💖 UPDATE:The moisturizer as I mentioned is thicker than the ones I typically go for and I noticed that when I apply it and go to bed shortly after, my face sticks to my silk pillow case so it definitely takes a bit to sink into your skin hehe ** Please do your research before purchasing from The Ordinary because their products are at higher concentrations of specific ingredients. Some need to be worn with spf or layered differently and some can’t be mixed with others.**😘

🧀 Skin Concern: Pores!🧀
🧀 Skin Concern: Pores!🧀
Recently I have been obsessed with using the Skin Journey feature on Cherie. If you did not know, this fun little feature scans your face and tells you everything that is right and wrong with your face. JUST KIDDING! 🤪It scans your face and tells you in detail what is amazing and what can be worked on. Some key concerns that they target is acne, dark spots, pores, wrinkles, and dark circles. I have been using this feature at least once a week to check how I have been doing with my skincare routine and how I can tweak it to make my skin look healthier and livelier. I love ❤️this feature since it tells me how my skin is and it also gives me ingredients that can target that skin concern and products for that concern as well! I have sensitive combination skin. My t-zone is in the range of normal to oily skin and I have dry skin on my cheeks. I am usually in the range of excellent to very good but the one thing that is always in the red zone are my pores. It always shows that my pores are "large". 😩So I looked at what products target pores but provide hydration as well (I have super dry spots on my skin so I like to stay on the hydration side of the spectrum). I found so many reviews aboutThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This product comes in a cute glass drip bottle that I would say is pretty leak proof since I haven't had any problems with it YET (its been around two months since I started this product). I use a few drops of this product along with another The Ordinary product (more to come later) after I apply my toner and before my concentrate and moisturizer. Apparently this product is good for all skin types so its good for normal, oily, combo, dry, and sensitive skin. I myself have not seen any breakouts or iritation happen after using this product. It has also not caused a buildup or greasy feeling nor has it dried out my already dry spots so I feel like it is pretty fit for all skin types. This product claims to be the solution for oiliness and pores due to the niacinamide (vitamin B3) which reduces the appearance of blemishes and congestions and zinc with balances sebum activity🤩. Overall, this product is etremly cheap! 😍It is $5.90 for 1 oz or $10.60 for 2 oz. I feel like this product is worth it since I have seen a slight reduction of blemishes on my skin and some of my pores shrank a wee bit. I feel like it hasn't been etremly noticable but since it isn't doing any harm to my skin why not apply it right?
