K-beauty Feature: Cosrx Rice Mask
COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask Product Function: The Cosrx Nourishing Rice Mask is meant to be used as a sleeping pack after moisturizer. It is marketed as a product that helps hydrate and brighten the skin. Product Target Concerns: dry, flaky, irritated skin, or for normal skin types who are looking for something heavier to layer during the winter. Texture/Consistency: a thick gel that mostly sits on top of the skin as an occlusive layer. Overall Thoughts & Opinions: I like this, but not for my skin type. I don’t think I would have purchased it myself, but I was sent it from Stylevana for review. The product itself boasts a pretty impressive ingredients list that would make this a great occlusive for anyone who needs an extra boost of hydration. One of the things I love about it is that it doesn’t disturb the layers of product underneath and helps seal everything in. However, for my oily skin, this isn’t very necessary. If I use this more than 2 nights in a row, I’ll tend to break out in closed comedones or acne, which is why I wouldn’t recommend this for oily skin. For dry skin, this will be your new best friend. Would I recommend? Yes, if you have dry to normal skin that craves an extra boost of hydration after your regular moisturizer. At $18 for 60ml, this is fairly priced and definitely worth checking out if dryness is a top concern for you.

I’d rather get coal than hydrogel eye patches...
Product Function: Hydrogel eye patches, as a whole, claim to help depuff and brighten the area under your eyes. The EVERYDAZE Gold Charcoal Hydrogel Eye Patches claim to do the same thing, but are also marketed towards those looking to tighten and lift the skin around the eyes. They are to be used as an undereye mask for 20 minutes. Product Target Concerns: Claims to help target undereye wrinkles, puffiness, and darkness. Suited for all skin types. Texture/Consistency: gel eye patches drenched in gooey, viscous serum. Overall Thoughts & Opinions: I don’t like hydrogel eye patches in general and these are no exception. They move around too much for you to use them and the fit is uncomfortable on the eyes. I’ve also noticed that I break out around my cheeks where the patches have come into contact with my skin. I was sent them from Sophie’s Beauty Box and wouldn’t repurchase these myself. These won’t live up to the claims of depuffing, tightening, or lifting. They might feel nice under the eyes, but as far as actual skincare benefits go, I promise you that they’ll be minimal. Would I recommend? Nope. $28 for 60 patches is too steep for the minimal results that you’ll get. Not worth your time or effort.
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA for Oil Control
PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Product Function: The Paula’s Choice 2% BHA is a liquid exfoliant targeted towards helping unclog pores, smooth wrinkles, even out skin tone, and help manage the production of oil. Product Target Concerns: This product claims to work well for all skin types, but I think it would work especially well for normal to oily skin types dealing with congestion, oiliness, and acne. Texture/Consistency: A watery liquid that leaves the skin feeling hydrated. Overall Thoughts & Opinions: I’ve been using this product for months, and I’ve been incredibly impressed by the results. Within a week of using it, I noticed that my skin appeared brighter and smoother. After a few weeks of use, I also noticed that my skin appeared less oily and more balanced overall. One of the other reasons why I love this product is that it’s incredibly versatile. I’ve used this to help with chest acne and I’ve heard of others using this to help with their KP on various parts of the body. Would I recommend? Yes! The results are definitely worth it for the price ($29.50/4oz) and Paula’s Choice also frequently runs sales, making this one of my favorite products (and brands) in my collection. It’s so effortless and easy to incorporate into your nightly routine, so go for it!

Logically Skin Aquatide Sheet Mask Review
Product Function: The Logically Skin Aquatide Shest Mask is marketed as a sheet mask capable of helping with brightening and anti-aging. It delivers a concentrated boost of serum through the mask. Product Target Concerns: This product should work well for people with dull and dry skin. Texture/Consistency: a creamy, slightly viscous liquid. A bit sticky, but about as much as most sheet masks. Overall Thoughts & Opinions: So, I’m honestly not a huge fan of sheet masks as a whole. They produce a lot of waste for results that are mostly temporary, which is why I don’t tend to purchase this myself. I got sent this product as PR from a Korean agency, which is how it ended up in my posession. In regards to this particular sheet mask, I think it’s alright. It does nicely hydrate the skin, but I wouldn’t say I noticed any significant brightening effects with one use, which tends to be my experience with most sheet masks. I’m not the biggest fan of how this includes fragrance in the ingredients list, since it can be a highly sensitizing ingredient, and would have preferred for it to be left out. Would I recommend? Nope. It’s a bit expensive at $3.50 a mask, and I don’t think the results really justify the price. It might be nice for a pampering session and you might as well use it if it comes your way, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase this.
My favorite cream for redness & irritation
dear, klairs - Midnight Blue Calming Cream Product Function: The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is marketed as a cream for soothing redness, irritation, and sensitivity. They recommend using this all over the face or as a targeted spot treatment for irritated areas. Product Target Concerns: This product claims to help target oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin to soothe redness and reduce sensitivity from sun exposure. Texture/Consistency: a thick, occlusive cream. Absorbs into the skin after 20 or so minutes, but it’s rather rich. Overall Thoughts & Experience: This has been in my stash for the past 6 months ever since I got gifted this product from Sophie’s Beauty Box and it’s been a staple ever since. When I went through severe contact dermatitis irritation, this cream helped speed up the recovery process of my skin, which is one of the many reasons why I love this product and always have it in my collection. I love the ingredients list, which features a ton of your typical hydrating ingredients along especially calming ones like guaiazulene and centella asiatica. Perfect for my skin type and for moments when I’m dealing with irritation. Would I recommend? Absolutely. I plan on repurchasing this once it’s out because the price is reasonable ($24.50/30ml) for the quality, formulation and efficacy of the product. Fully worth it in my opinion and I hope you consider trying this!

The best mask for blackheads & acne
Product Function: The Dr. Jart Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay Mask in White is a wash-off clay mask that can be used as a cleanser and as a mask. It is marketed as a product that can exfoliate skin, remove excess oil, cleanse the pores, and help reduce blackheads. Product Target Concerns: Oily, acne-prone skin that also deals with blackheads and large pore size. Will help with excess sebum production and reduce acne. Texture/Consistency: like a super creamy, thick cleanser. Super soft and easy to spread, making this the perfect texture for a wash-off clay mask. Overall Thoughts & Experience: I spontaneously picked this up back in May when I was visiting New York, hoping that it would help with my pore size and acne, and I’m almost finished with the product. Since picking it up in May, this product has been discontinued which makes me extremely sad since I was incredibly impressed with the quality of this product. I loved it because after each use, I could really see a noticeable difference in the appearance of blackheads and my acne always appeared less inflamed as well. I also loved how easily it emulsified, making it much easier to remove than most clay masks. Would I recommend? Yes, if it were still available! I truly hope that Dr. Jart considers bringing this line back since it’s my favorite clay mask that I’ve ever tried. It’s also super affordable, since it came in a set of 3 for $20. It’s such an easy-to-use mask and the results are unbeatable, so if Dr. Jart brings back this line, I’ll be the first to tell you to get it. Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
K-beauty skincare: my first love
Korean skincare was my gateway into the world of skincare and I couldn’t be more thankful! Today I’m featuring a tried and true product that works for my sensitive skin. The product: It’s a lightweight emulsion that is fragrance free and especially beneficial for sensitive skin types! It won’t irritate or worsen any skin conditions because of the minimal yet soothing ingredients list. The consistency is like a water cream and goes onto the skin feeling like a burst of hydration. My honest opinion: I used this product last year when my skin was super clear and decided to recently repurchase it, hoping it will be my saving grace once again! I love it but I do recognize that it might not work for drier skin types since it isn’t very occlusive. On the other hand, I think it could make a great layer. I’d highly recommend it to oily + sensitive/acne-prone skin types. I think it’s worth the price since it’s about $16 and lasted me for at least 3 months. #Etude House - Soonjung 10-Free Moist Emulsion[products]#[FiveStars] #Etude House - Soonjung 10-Free Moist Emulsion[products]#[FiveStars]

Skin-Balancing Line helps reduce oil like a pro!
As the winter gets colder and my skin gets drier, I have not been using this toner as much as I’d like, but I recognize how great it would be if I needed some oil control ASAP! The product: The Skin-Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner from Paulas Choice is supposed to do exactly what it says in the name- help reduce oil and pore size through balancing the skin! It does this with the inclusion of niacinamide as well as a handful of other superstar ingredients. If you’re on the search for a non-stripping oil controlling product, look no further! This one is a watery liquid that quickly absorbs and also helps prep your skin for the rest of your routine. My honest opinion: Though I haven’t been using this one OFTEN lately, I wanted to try it a couple months back when my skin was getting so oily in the hot humid weather. I remember how instantly hydrated + balanced my skin felt upon application and loved that. I am not sure if it would be hydrating enough for dry skin types but it is most definitely not stripping or drying. It didn’t make me break out either which I appreciate! I think it’s worth the price at it comes in a rather big bottle and will last a while. I’d mostly recommend it for oily skin types looking to hydrate + control oil.

Soothing + hydrating sheet masks
The Benton Aloe Soothing Mask Pack is one of the few sheet masks I actually trust and recommend! The product: It’s marketed as a soothing sheet mask filled with aloe Vera and can target any redness or irritation your skin may be experiencing. The texture of the mask liquid itself is rather gooey but not overly sticky. It honestly feels just like aloe Vera juice, duh! My honest opinion: Though I personally try not to purchase sheet masks anymore because they can be a bit wasteful, I highly recommend these for anyone who appreciates a nice soothing, fragrance free sheet mask experience! It’s super hydrating, calming, and makes your skin overall glow with radiance immediately! 5/5 stars would recommend to a friend- both dry + oily skin types. It’s worth the time and effort if you’re looking for a bit of pampering and extra glow. !#Benton - Aloe Soothing Mask Pack[products]#[FiveStars]

I’d rather get coal than this zinc-only spf🤧
I’d rather get coal than the Solara Suncare Unscented Time Traveler Daily Face Sunscreen with SPF 30... product function: this product is marketed as a face sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF 30. It is used to reverse + protect the facial skin from sun damage/harmful UV rays! It targets fine lines as well as past photo damage. The texture is a SUPER THICK gritty white paste that will NOT absorb if you use the amount of sunscreen you need for adequate protection. It also leaves a strong whitecast that I can’t imagine would be flattering for any skin tone, honestly 🤷🏻♀️ my honest opinion: I was sent it from Palm to review but didn’t use it for long because of how uncomfortable it was on my skin. I disliked it because of the strong whitecast, overly occlusive feeling, and just overall unpleasant texture. For these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they are planning to have a beach day or use it on their bodies. I don’t think it’s worth it though as there are really similar feeling sunscreens available for <$10 in drugstores while this one is much pricier. Dior Snow brightening makeup base colour correct
Targets: colour correction before makeup; Texture: light; My thought: I have used it almost everyday, not only as a colour correction, but also as a sunscreen. When I pat several drops on face, it goes so smooth, and does a good job on brightening the complexion. I have dull skin aroud the T-zone, due to oil production and stay up late. Before going to work, I just use this colour correction after normal skincare routine, and then apply primer and powder, then a quick makeup has done. So convenient~ 100% recommend. It is definitely the one I would grab and buy on reapeat.
Amazing K-Beauty Eye Cream
The Missha Misa Geum Sul Vitalizing Eye Cream is such a treat. It’s super rich, creamy, and moisturizing, especially perfect for dry winters. It’s really thick which I’m a fan of, but definitely isn’t for you if you prefer a lightweight eye cream! It’s formulated with adaptogens like ginseng water & extract and reishi mushroom extract, and another unique ingredient that I never thought I’d see in a skincare product.. deer antler extract! Don’t worry, not harm is done to the deers in obtaining their antler extract! Definitely not a vegan formula though. 😝 It is free of parabens, colorants, GMOs, mineral oils, and more irritants. This herbal concoction gently yet powerfully moisturizes the delicate skin around the eye, while helping with anti-aging by firming the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and brightening dark circles. Overall, such a fan of this. I get really dry eye skin and this helps keep the skin around my eyes supple & smooth. The price varies from $30-45 depending on the site you buy from, but I do think it’s worth that price tag! It’s actually a reasonable price for how rich and effective the cream is. Plus the tub lasts a really long time. I’d recommend this to anyone, especially dry or aging skin! MISSHA - Geum Sul Vitalizing Eye Cream
