Morning routine & advice?
HELLO! My first Cherie post :) here’s my morning skincare & here’s a pic of my current skin! I’ve definitely come a long way with acne, and right now my main concerns are my pores & my acne scars. Any feedback on the routine?? I did just order THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serumso I will he incorporating that soon. ANY ADVICE PLZ!!! ♥️
Almost empty- will not repurchase
MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Acid Toner I have combo oily skin, especially around my chin and cheeks, where the rest of my face can be really dry. I bought this toner hoping it would help with my acne scars while also helping keep my pores clear. Honestly I just haven’t noticed it doing much of anything. My skin did not react badly, it just doesn’t seem to help as much as other toners I have tried. I also am not a huge fan of the artificial coloring used.
Pixie Glow Tonic ✨
The Pixie Glow Tonic is a great toner option for those who have oily skin and are looking to address issues like hyperpigmentation, large appearing pores, and hydration. It’s your typical liquid toner consistency that you apply to a cotton round and sweep all over the face. One of the main ingredients is glycolic acid which is a great BHA option for those with oily skin. It helps exfoliate the skin while sweeping away any impurities left over after cleansing. I’ve been using this off and on for about three years now after seeing it in Target. I really like this because it balances out the ph of my skin before I apply the rest of my skincare products. I also appreciate the fact it helps a little bit with my oily skin while addressing my hyperpigmentation issues from acne. The only thing is I cannot use this too often or it dries out my skin (despite claiming to be alcohol free). I feel like I can only use this once a day, every other day without my skin feeling dry. I would recommend this product if you’re looking to add a toner into your routine and you have oily skin because of the glycolic acid inside. I think it’s worth it because it’s a super easy product to use that will help exfoliate the skin gently.
Keeping my pores in check!
PEACH & LILY - The Good Acids Pore Toner I’ve always been skeptical of toners and worried that they would be too stripping for my skin because most of them contain alcohol and other drying agents. But after reading all of the rave reviews people with acne left for Peach & Lily’s Good Acid Pore Toner, I had to face my toner fears and give it a try. The Good Acid Pore Toner gently exfoliates and helps balance the skin using a combination of pore-refining AHAs and salicylic acid. It works with your skin to adjust its pH while also sloughing away dead skin cells to unclog pores, improve dullness and smooth the skin. It’s recommended to use this before serums, essences and oils etc. because removing dead skin cells will help those products absorb better and faster into the skin. Despite being designed for sensitive skin, I found that my skin couldn’t handle using this every night. So, I had to slowly introduce it into my routine (I use it twice a week now.) It has, what I imagine, to be a pretty standard texture/formula for a water-based toner. It’s a really pretty blue too. Other key ingredients are Cape Lilac, Eggplant and Turmeric Extracts as well as Allantoin and Aloe to soothe and nourish. No alcohol here! I really like this toner and it definitely helps keep my pores in check and my skin feeling smooth. But, it was a liiiiittle to harsh for my semi-sensitive skin, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with really sensitive skin.

A toner to be grateful for
The Ordinary’s glycolic acid toner has been my go-to for about two years now. I bought it to help with textural irregularities, including large pores, acne scars, and oiliness, and it helps keep all of those in check and gives me a noticeable glow! If I ever go a few days without using it, my skin looks and feels dull and congested. The texture is watery—it’s not a creamy toner because it’s not intended to be hydrating—and it goes on with a very slight tingle. I would definitely recommend patch testing, especially if you aren’t used to using acids. This is often touted as a dupe for Pixi’s glow tonic, and while the ingredient differ a bit, you just can’t beat the price of this one at $8.70. It does what I need it to do, and for that reason I’ll always have a backup ready! I would recommend this to anyone looking to address oiliness, fullness, and hyperpigmentation—especially if price point is a big factor. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Textured skin who??
Brb drifting away into my fantasy of perfect skin with no texture. . Okay maybe that’s not realistic, but innbeautyproject’s Down to Tone toner gets me pretty close to a perfect complexion. This is a chemical exfoliating toner that works pretty damn well. After just a few days I noticed a huge difference in my little bumps and dark spots. innbeautyproject has an “Even out complex” in all of their products and from my experience it really works well. I couldn’t find this toner to tag it on here, but here’s my score and some other details about it. Toner for dry skin
MARIO BADESCU - Glycolic Acid Toner Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner is a mild resurfacing toner that brightens and balances skin post-cleanse. Glycolic Acid, Grapefruit, and Aloe combine in a rejuvenating formula that works to refine pores and diminish the appearance of dry fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone revealing a more radiant and youthful-looking complexion. I use this toner every morning. I use a more "heavy duty" AHA toner at night. I've been using this for awhile now, probably 2 or 3 years. I've switched and tried other toners but I always go back to this. I like it for morning because it's only slightly tingly, it feels gentle on my skin, doesn't dry my skin out, feels energizing, and I also feel like it helps my serums sink into my skin more effectively. It has 3% Glycolic Acid, which I feel is the perfect amount for daily use without being "too much". I really have enjoyed all the products I've tried from Mario Badescu, they are fairly priced and really seem to work, this toner is definitely my favorite product from the line though!

A pore minimizing toner!
The Good Molecules Niacinimide Toner is an alcohol free toner that helps to reduce the appearance of large pores, brighten and even out the complexion. While using a blend of some amazing ingredients, like vitamin B3, naturally derived arbutin, and vitamin C, this toner does exactly as it claims! This is a toner; so it should be used directly after cleansing, and applied with a cotton round and gently swipe it on the face. The texture is just a bit thicker than water, but really just sinks into the skin like nothing, it doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind, and it doesn’t have any fragrance, which is great for my sensitive skin. This toner was gifted to me from the brand, before receiving this I never had any interest in using a toner, and often thought that they would dry out and irritate my skin. I am so happy that I gave this one a try, I have noticed my pores becoming less and less noticeable as I continue using this, which has been for about 3 months now, my skin is brighter but I am not sure if it is from this product alone as I do use other brightening products, as well. My skin hasn’t dried out from this, thanks to the alcohol free formula. At the price of $14, I would recommend this product to others, to anyone really looking to shrink their pore size and need a gentler toner alternative. The price, effort and the extra step is definitely worth it in my opinion. I am giving this product a 5/5, because I love that it has been shrinking my pores and not irritating my skin!
