Incredible Exfoliant that WONT break the bank!
Incredible Exfoliant that WONT break the bank!
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution So it’s my third time using this mask and i honestly have to say I have many mixed feelings about this mask however -overall i love it! which sounds confusing but i’ll explain... The con is that if you have any open pimples or broken skin on your face this mask is going to sting SOOO badly, however it subsides within a minute or so - you may want to do a patch test if you have sensitive skin or are prone to reactions The pros are that it makes my skin so soft and plump and so treated afterwards. I did a skin care overhaul about 2 months ago and this mask was the only one to make the cut, it has no nasty fragrances or additives that can cause sensitivity. This mask is definetely a 1 x a week only kind of mask because of how strong it is and i always feel like my skin has new life breathed into afterwards - i like to use this when my skin is feeling dull/clogged (i recently came back from a camping trip) and i feel so much fresher and revived now. 10/10 would purchase again ✨✨

Different textured AHA/BHA masks! 🎭
Different textured AHA/BHA masks! 🎭
Alpha-Hydroxy Acids exfoliate your skin, mainly the top level of your skin. However, different acids have different sized molecules so they can be gentler/stronger depending on how much the molecule can penetrate the skin. For example: lactic acid is much gentler than glycolic acid because it’s molecule is small. Beta-Hydroxy acid is salicylic acid. Amazing for acne because it gets into pores and clears out oil/debris. Which mask? The Ordinary 30% AHA/2% BHA peel was one of the first skincare products that I ever bought (in my adult life). I was suffering from texture and acne and wanted something affordable. As you can see it is a liquid consistency, and it is meant to be left on for UP TO 10 minutes. I highly suggest you work up to 10 minutes. And this mask should only be used once maybe twice a week or every other week. My skin is super smooth after using this, slightly red, but that is normal! Remember to hydrate/moisture the heck outta your skin after. It is quite strong so you don’t want to overdo it. This peel is super affordable at around $8. The Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore mask is advertised as a AHA mask but if you check the ingredients (you always should) it also has salicylic acid in it. I wish it gave percentages of the actives because this mask is really strong! It has an amazing c o o l i n g effect when applied (hence the name cold plunge). I really enjoy this mask and it’s creamy thick consistency. My skin is baby smooth after using this. As with TO, use sparingly!!! It is more expensive than The Ordinary, at $38. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable option TO is a good place to start. However, the OH is also really good and has a beautiful color (instagram selfie-worthy 😉) The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution OLE HENRIKSEN - Cold Plunge Pore Mask

Chemical vs. Mechanical Exfoliation
Chemical vs. Mechanical Exfoliation
I’ve got some pretty combination skin. My cheeks are dry/normal while my T-zone area is very normal/oily (typically oily, though). I’ve dealt with acne for a very long time, and as my fellow warriors know, acne treatments frequently dry out the skin and leave lots of peeling and dryness. The one way I’ve found to reduce peeling is exfoliation. Now, I use two different types of exfoliation depending on the status of my skin. The two are chemical and mechanical. Usually, I use chemical exfoliation as it kills more bacteria and reduces acne, but if I’m dealing with a very dry season I’ll use more mechanical exfoliation to really remove all dead skin cells. Chemically, as I’ve posted before, I use The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’ve literally boasted about this product so much already but I cannot get ENOUGH of it! I’ve only used it for a month or two, but I’m so obsessed! My acne has cleared up tremendously, my skin feels so soft, and my complexion overall looks better. I use this product every other day, even though you’re supposed to use it less frequently, as my skin is not that sensitive and rebounds very quickly. I put a toner on afterward to balance the pH of my skin, and then I head to bed. If you have skin like me, I would recommend starting by following the directions on the bottle before increasing the frequency of usage to prevent irritation. Mechanically, I use Rejuvity® Bamboo Exfoliating Polish. #Isagenix - Rejuvity Bamboo Polish[products]#[FiveStars] I only use this product once or twice a month, but I’ve used it consistently over the course of five or six years. This scrub really digs into my skin (in a good way) and removes all the dead skin cells while making my face feel SO SMOOTH!! This definitely packs a very powerful punch, so I wouldn’t use it more than once a week if you’re considering buying it.

✨MY SKIN JOURNEY - Learn from my mistakes!
✨MY SKIN JOURNEY - Learn from my mistakes!
Please excuse my before pics...theyre the only ones i could find that showed what it used to look like 😭🤣 and these werent even close to my worst days before y’all come at me for complaining about such mild acne 🤪 BEFORE: i had huge pores, you would NEVER see me without blemishes whether theyre a few big hormonal pimples/scars or tiny red bumps everywhere, and I had horrible milia and uneven tone and texture along my cheekbones. NOW: my pores are half the size (though still visible, I’m working on it), i scarcely get pimples and if I do they go away in a day or two without scarring, and my milia is COMPLETELY GONE! I get closer and closer every day to achieving “dewy-dumpling skin” (words of my inspo jadeywadey 🥰) WHAT I DID WRONG AND CHANGED: 1. Thinking my skin type was oily but it was actually DEHYDRATED! I have always had combination skin with dry patches here and there, but because I was acne-prone I assumed that anything creamy or oily would make me even oilier so I would wash my face way too often and go to bed without moisturizing at all in fear of it breaking me out! In reality, I was stripping my skin and triggering excess sebum production which made me feel greasy and caused acne flare ups. Now, I am hydration-obsessed and my skin thanks me for all of the nourishment it has been getting, plus it helped to heal my dry spots! 2. Not exfoliating. I was afraid of exfoliation, for similar reasons to above. Physical exfoliates were very rough and damaging to my skin and would cause breakouts and irritation, so I figured it would just be out of the question for me. Until I discovered chemical exfoliation and it saved me! My milia was also so bad and made my makeup look so bumpy, I thought it was incurable unless I let a dermatologist poke and squeeze at them, but The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution has been my holy grail that has made them COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR! My skin is smoother than anything because of this mask and I am so grateful that I introduced this form of exfoliation into my life! However, if anyone has any recommendations on how to heal the tiny red bumps that scatter along my cheekbones or have any idea what they are I’d love to hear some insight! Xo ✨❤️

Skincare that Saved my Combo/Acne-Prone Skin
Skincare that Saved my Combo/Acne-Prone Skin
As a teenager, my skin is frequently oily around my T-zone area, but my cheeks and neck are usually much drier. I typically break out on my cheeks due to stress, hormones, or sugar intake, or I have blackheads on my forehead and nose due to the oiliness. My day-time routine consists of the Isagenix Purifying Cleanser, which removes all extra sebum that my face has produced over the night after I’ve washed my face with cold water. I have used this cleanser for years after discovering the brand from an ambassador, and I’ve been hooked ever since! Then, I follow-up with the Burt’s Bees Rosewater Toner, which helps balance the pH of my T-zone, after I’ve dried my face. I’ve only been using this product for a couple of weeks after finding it in the clearance aisle at Walmart, but I’m absolutely in love! I don’t use moisturizer as it makes me even more oily, eye creams because I’m so young, or serums as I have never found one that hasn’t broken me out if it’s a very hot and sunny day, I may put on some SPF to protect my light-colored skin. After a long day of sweat and oil-buildup (I’m an athlete), I like to wash my face with warm water to open my pores and then wash with the same cleanser to take off extra oil, dirt, and makeup. This is something I only do 2-3 times a week, but I’ll use The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to reduce acne scarring and deeply exfoliate without physically scrubbing. Although I have only used this product for a couple of weeks, I have noticed the most enormous difference in my skin in the best way possible! I really enjoy using this product during a breakout as it kills all bacteria and leaves my skin feeling very soft. After washing it off, I’ll follow up with the Burt’s Bees toner and head straight to bed to prevent any extra environmental variables in my skin. And that’s my routine! Derma E Overnight Peel
Derma E Overnight Peel
This is the first overnight peel product that I have tried. It is a very strong product, so be careful if you have open acne on your face. I tend to use this overnight about once a week due to having very sensitive skin. In the morning, my face feels incredibly soft and smooth. This has helped to reduce the appearance of my acne scars pretty well. This is a great priced item for the quality. Highly recommend!DERMA•E - Overnight Peel
