Morning routine

JaimeAddison
My Morning routine is all about protection! Protection from the sun and pollution in the air. I have dry skin and it needs a lot of moisture and hydration. No cleansing. I rarely cleanse in the morning mainly because I have dry skin and cleansing in the morning makes it’s feel dry. I always double cleanse at night to get all grime and makeup off. I just splash with warm water and apply my products First step is the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum
this has hyaluronic acid in which is great for absorbing moisture and putting it back into your skin. Vitamin C is great for the morning but you must use SPF as it makes your skin sensitive to sunlight but when you use SPF with vitamin c they work together to fight off free radicals. Next is a prescription eczema cream now if you don’t have eczema feel free to skip this step. This cream is specifically for this face as it doesn’t have steroids in it and I put it on my eyes and around my mouth when I have flare ups. Next is the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Triple Remedy A.M. Gel Cream
very basic eye cream that helps hydrate your skin and just locks moisture in. Don’t have to use an eye cream but it’s always nice to have Then I apply FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
this is a basic moisturiser that hydrates the skin. It has ceramides and antioxidants that help repair and nourish the skin barrier. It is fairly light weight but very moisturising. The most important step and then final one LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Lotion SPF 60
sunscreen is a must ! And this one is amazing for sensitive skin and is very light weight. You must always wear sunscreen during the day. Because the sun is the number one cause of wrinkles and it protects you from more nasty things as well.

My skincare products and routine : any thoughts?
Hi loves, so even though I already have a pretty good routine for my skin, I feel like I still have so much to learn and therefore maybe other adjustments to do with my habits to really have a good and effective routine for my skin! Here’s what I usually do : (this is for someone who has combination skin; the t-zone gets oily, other parts tend to be dry and sometimes even sensitive; i never had major acne too so i wouldn’t label myself as “acne-prone skin” type of gal🤷🏻‍♂️) 1) CLEANSE : I wash my face with the acne wash by Benzagel Benzagel - Acne Wash ** If I run out of product : I use another cleanser from Alya alya skin. - Foaming Micellar Cleanser *** After one of the products listed here, I use the cleansing butter from Wishful to remove excess oils/makeup before anything else! HUDA BEAUTY - Clean Genie Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 2) EXFOLIATE/SCRUB : I exfoliate my skin (1-2 times a week) with Wishful products HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub 3) Tone : I’m still pretty new to the “skincare” world and I never toned my skin up until today so feel free to suggest/recommend me products you tried and/or heard of that were good, that’d be great 👼🏻💓 4) Essence : I use to put some of the serums of L’Occitane en Provence to replace the essence I still don’t have! Then again, feel free to suggest me products you think would work!! Thanks 💓 5) Serum : I ran out of the product itself but usually I was using (like mentioned before) L’Occitane en Provence’s serum and it really felt nice on my skin! L'OCCITANE - Peony Perfecting Essence 5.1) Serum #2 : I can also switch with L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum 6) Moisturize : I’m using Wishful’s product called HUDA BEAUTY - Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer and it really feels nice on my skin! 7) Sunscreen : Right after moisturizing my skin, it’s recommended to directly apply sunscreen on top of the moisturizer of Wishful (or HUDA BEAUTY) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Lotion SPF 60 8) Oil : Even though I had the sample version of the actual thing, I’m currently working with L’Occitane en Provence’s youth oil, which leaves my skin shiny and cute 🥰 L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Divine Youth Oil 9) Eye cream (or gel): Apparently it’d be nice for me to use some eye cream (based on the analysis that Cherie provides me) but I’m not currently using and not so sure of which products I should/shouldn’t be using! Then again, if you know any good stuff that’d work perfectly with my type of skin, let me know in the comments!! That’s all for me, I know I don’t have the perfect skincare routine but I’m ready to consider any constructive feedback on the thing(s) I could try/do/change to improve it! Thanks, have a good one 💓

SPF myth
Myth: the higher the SPF, the more protected you are from UV rays. Truth: the truth is, theres not much difference between SPF 30 and 50 in terms of how much percentage of sun rays are blocked. I believe the you grt arohnd 97% coverage with an SPF30 and 98% with an SPF50. Realistically, you’re ok with an SPF30 or 40, and just make sure you’re reapplying every two hours or as directed. This has been a myth I grew up with and went into my teens with. I even saw an SPF100 one time. I was surprised when I was told to still be careful because SPF100 did NOT mean i was 100% covered and protected, which is a big part of why brands are no longer labelling or marketing for an SPF higher than 60; nowadays, thats the highest you’ll find on the shelf. I learned that in the recent years when I became more passionate and savvy about skincare, and now I use my favourite sunscreen by Vivier cosmetics, an SPF of 45 and its working great for me. I especially love the texture and feel on my oily skin. These stats are for UVB rays, UVA rays are different and are blocked out in different numbers, but thats a story for another post. For now, have fun with your SPF 30+!

new products ! 🍌
with the new year comes new products and here are three i’ll be testing out soon! i just wanted to give you all a small introduction to the three before i make separate posts on them later on ~ first we have the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crèmewhich contains vitamin c & is collagen-boosted as well as inspired by banana powder (used by makeup artists) what is claims: - brightens - targets aging - reduces the look of dark circles - improves concealer application and wear good for: - fine lines & wrinkles - dryness - dark circles secondly there is the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum also by olehenriksen what is claims: - brightens - instantly firms - plumps skin with hydration - reduces the appearance of dark spots, pores, and wrinkles to put it short, “a powerful age-defying serum” lastly we have the OWA HAIRCARE - Moondust Collection Unscented: Hair Washby owahaircare~ i’m most excited to try this one out because of the reviews i’ve seen online about this product. it’s also the first powder hair wash i’ve ever seen/used. though it is a powder, it’s not to be taken lightly as it claims to do better than your average shampoo. what it claims: - adds volume - adds moisture can’t wait to try these 3 products, thank you @cherie ! <3

First impression vit C and dust hair wash 🤗
Hi guys! 😀 Last Friday I got this lovely Cherie package. They gifted me the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serumand the OWA HAIRCARE - Moondust Collection Unscented: Hair Wash It is my first time seeing a non liquid hair wash. I was so surprised when I saw the dust 😯 It doesn’t have a smell at all. Neither a color, it is just plain white dust. According to the directions I just need to apply the dust in my hand and activate it with some water before applying to my scalp. I might try it on my next wash to see how does it feel. 😃 I also got the Vitamin C serum. I have read some mixed reviews about this product. The majority of the reviews are about causing acne on acne prone skin. 😳 The texture is liquid with an orange color, it also has an orange smell. I am kind of scare to give it a try, but I will for one week. I will take before and after pictures just to double check at the results. 🙂 Thank you so much to my @cheriefamily for sending me these lovely gifts. 😙 And stay tune for future reviews on these. ☺️

{Skincare} FAB Triple remedy AM eye gel
{What is it?} A fast absorbing eye treatment that hydrates , helps skin appear firmer & diminish the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. {Who is it for?} All skin types & sensitive. {Texture/Consistency?} It is a lightweight hydrating gel, it smooths immediately into the skin. {My thoughts?} I really love this eye gel! I’ve used it mornings only for the past 5 months and it makes my eyes feel so hydrated & really helps my makeup NOT crease. Its perfect underneath all different powders & concealers. It feels so refreshing and cooling. It helped diminish any puffiness I may have in the AM. I find it doesn’t brighten anything though so I don’t like it at night time. I do like the pump bottle as well it’s very easy and clean to get product. {Would I recommend?} Yes, it worked well for my morning time routine. I am not sure if I like the price, it is .5 oz for $36. I will say the product has lasted me since I opened it in March and I consistently have been using it since July and I’m not even half way done! I only use half of a pump. I find that a whole pump is too much. I would defiantly repurchase. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Triple Remedy A.M. Gel Cream

My skincare detox!!
Hey awesome people!! It's been a while since I last posted because I was on a skincare detox (and ridiculously busy). Sensitive vs senstized skin: If your skin feels like it burns with the mildest products (for me, even spf and lactic acid) when it's usually not this sensitive - chances are your skin is getting sensitized. Sensitive skin is something we're born with, sensitization happens due to external factors. It's not necessarily due to just rigorous skincare but also external factors like stress, diet, UV exposure etc. So while skin detox is great, also remember to take care of yourself 💜❤️ What and why? I'm no skincare expert by a long shot. I keep things mostly simple and I believe we can tell what our skin needs. I started serious skincare around January this year (I know, suuuper late but better than never lol). My skin before that was mostly normal with bouts of dryness but no major sensitivity. So I was wondering why after skincare, my skin felt like it was hurting when it should feel better. Answer: I needed to give my skin break once in a while! The products, especially the ones with active ingredients, can sensitize skin - even if it is not already sensitive. So I took a break for about 3 weeks. I don't think you need to break for that long, I suppose 10ish days should be enough. I just got lazy to start again. BUT - I can definitely see a difference. For example, now if I use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, it tingles less than before! How did I detox? Again, not saying this is the only way. I stripped down to basics. Cleanse, moisturize and spf. That's all. In detail: AM: Cleanse with either DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser or SOAP & GLORY - Face Soap And Clarity Facial Wash (nothing technically wrong with either cleansers, they're both a bit drying with a bit of fragrance and I'm still on the hunt for The One™) Moisturizer: #Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF: Australian Gold - Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50 PM: Double cleanse (because of spf): BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original (love this Btw) And then DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser (soap and glory is too harsh for double cleanse) Moisturize: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration And that's it! No actives, no exfoliation - just the bare mininum. Info: The selfies are somewhere around week 2 of my detox (not a selfie person so I probably suck at taking selfies but oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️) Hope this helps!! Cheers ✨

💟 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 💟⁣ ⁣ 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨: visibly brighten & help restore skin barrier. Help reduce the appearance of fine lines and provide intense hydration. ⁣ ⁣ 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 : biomimetic peptides, niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, shea butter and soybean sterols ⁣ ⁣ Hands down. One of my top cerave products! ⁣ This is one of the few thick occlusives I don’t get breakouts from. I think it’s just fabulous and i’ve only been seeing positive results from using it. This is a perfect moisturizing cream if you’re on tretinoin like me. Works great especially on dry patches. It is balmy and thick but it spreads well. It feels a lil greasy on my t-zone after applying but does fade overnight. This also still layers well with other products. I don’t have fine lines or wrinkles but this leaves the skin sealed with moisture throughout the night and makes the skin looking rejuvenated when you wake up in the morning. I see realistic results from this and I think it would deliver what it claims after a period of time. I believe mature skin would benefit the most from this product 👍🏻⁣ ⁣ - on some nights I would use this on my eye area only. this makes a great non-irritating eye cream! 💜 ⁣ ⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: $13.98 for 1.7 oz on amazon. (quantity is like half of the bottle’s size only) ⁣ 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best moisturizer for sensitive skin
Best moisturizer for sensitive skin
The cerave pm moisturizer is marketed as a lightweight moisturizer for all skin types and contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and niacinamide to moisturize skin. It targets people with a damaged skin barrier. It has a lightweight gel-cream texture. Overall, it has an amazing texture and is very lightweight and gentle. I decided to try it after needing a new moisturizer and this one has a great price. I love it for my sensitive skin because it is fragrance free and keeps my skin hydrated all day without making me breakout or get flaky skin. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for lightweight hydration without clogging pores. This product is definitely worth it because it extremely cheap and effective. Definitely worth trying if you have sensitive skin and need a cheap, non irritating, and effective moisturizer. CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion

Amazing Night Cream for $14?!
Amazing Night Cream for $14?!
If you are wanting an affordable and effective night cream, then look no further than CeraVe night cream! What is it? - CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream Ideal for all skin types, CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream features an exclusive complex of biomimetic peptides that work to refresh tired-looking skin, hyaluronic acid to help the skin retain moisture and three essential ceramides that restore and reinforce the skin’s barrier while you sleep. This non-greasy, intensely moisturizing skin renewing night cream is designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and patented MVE Delivery Technology provides the skin with 24-hour nourishment—so you can wake up looking rested and rejuvenated. - Non-comedogenic, non-irritating and fragrance-free What’s in it? - Biomimetic peptides: Improve the appearance of tired-looking skin. - Ceramides: Essential for healthy skin, ceramides help restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier. - Hyaluronic acid: This ingredient attracts hydration to the skin’s surface and helps the skin retain moisture. - Niacinamide: Helps a compromised skin barrier while improving the appearance of the skin. How to use- - Apply in small dots where needed around the face - Gently smooth until thoroughly absorbed - Use nightly before bedtime My review- - I wasn’t sure if I liked this night cream when I first started using it, but now I absolutely love it! I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin. I’m currently treating my acne with clindamycin and tretinoin, so I needed a deeply hydrating, soothing night cream, and this one does all of that! It has a thick, balmy texture so I apply little dots all over my face and then gently rub it in. It creates a protective barrier that hydrates my skin all night long. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth! Even though it is thick, it doesn’t clog my pores at all or cause me to breakout. I also love the price: $13.99 for 1.7 fl oz! I’ve been using it for a little over a month and there is still plenty left. I will definitely be repurchasing this product!

Worst product I’ve ever tried
Worst product I’ve ever tried
I’d rather get coal than the carave facial moisturizing lotion spf 30. This product is a facial moisturizer for all skin types that contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and niacinamide while providing sun protection. It targets hyperpigmentation through it’s sun protection. It has a thick white texture and terrible sunscreen scent. Overall, I really dislike this product. This is the worst product I’ve ever put on my skin. Not only does it leave a horrible white cast, but it is impossible to rub in. After applying it I end up walking around with white streaks all around the sides of my face. To make matters worse, it leaves skin extremely oily and smells so bad! I bought this a year ago because I needed a new sunscreen and this was very cheap. I thought it would be like cerave pm, but it is so much worse! I do not like this because I saw no results and it left my skin white and oily. It contains a lot of beneficial ingredients but none of them seem to do anything. lt also drys out the skin even though it is supposed to be a moisturizer. I would not recommend this to others, even though it is fairly cheap. It will make your skin worse than before you started using it. This is not worth the price or time at all, and it has made me want to stop using sunscreen. Yes, it truly is that bad. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30

Moisturizers for Sensitive Skin
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream This product is marketed fast-absorbing, rich moisturizer that provides instant and long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin and eczema. It can be used to help with dryness, fine lines, and redness. This moisturizer is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. It is formulated with colloidal oatmeal which helps relieve any itching or irritation that may occur due to eczema, rashes, or any other skin conditions. It also includes shea butter which provides moisture for the skin and helps protect the skin barrier. And lastly, allantoin helps calm and soothes skin. The texture of this cream is rich and slightly thick. I have been using this product for more than a year now and I love it! I first bought the tub version of this moisturizer last year during Black Friday and I haven’t stopped using it since! I decided to buy it since I wanted a moisturizer that was super hydrating and perfect for dry skin. I truly believe this moisturizer lives up to what it claims to do! This moisturizer is something I resort to when I need something to repair my dry and flaky skin! It has never made me break out and has quickly become one of my holy grails! Like I literally can’t live without this product. I 100% would recommend this product to others! Not only is it super effective, but it is super long-lasting. Although I bought this product during the BF sale for $15 at Sephora, I would definitely pay the full price for this product.

Ultra Repair Cream Limited Edition
FIRST AID BEAUTY-Ultra Repair Cream Limited Edition
An amazing affordable cream!
An amazing affordable cream!
a.My skin type is combination, often with hormonal acne during parts of the month. I generally have pretty balanced skin! b.This product is meant to be a deeply hydrating night renewal cream, with ingredients that slowly release over time to provide continuous benefits throughout the night. This is meant for any skin types since it’s hydrating but doesn’t cause congestion in the pores. c.I love this cream and its texture so so much! I originally purchased it because I heard it was a dupe for the more expensive Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask. The ingredient list isn’t exactly the same BUT there are similar hydrating ingredients as well as niacinamide to provide a gentle brightening/soothing effect. the packaging is simple, just like the rest of the Cerave line, nothing special to really call out there. d.I love to use this product immediately after exfoliating in the nighttime, because it is so great at locking in moisture and soothing any irritation that might occur. After applying this cream, I usually follow with a lighter oil so that I don’t overload my skin. Honestly, this cream would be perfect for the mornings too if you tend to have more dry skin and want a glowy base for makeup! e.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone! The price point, the effectiveness, and the fact that it’s got great ingredients make me want to give this product 5/5 stars!CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream #cheriecreator
