The Best Advice For Choosing Skincare Products
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ So I’ve recommended a lot of products and thought I’d share some advice on how how I select skincare products these days. ☺️ Thanks to @babesandbeauty on Instagram for the advice. Products that you consistently use I noticed that I consistently use TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum which has Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E as my day Serum. I also have The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for my night routine. I’ve started using Truskin’s Super Serum at night and now alternate between using a natural Retinol or Vitamin A Moisturiser and the Truskin Super Serum which has Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Retinol. I now can’t live without my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Rise of the Foam Blemish Busting Cleanser I use this because of the salicylic acid and hemp oil as part of my double cleansing routine. I’m currently trialing products for my first cleanse. 😄 I noticed the ingredients are ideal for my issues which are rough texture, larger than average pores, dullness and my wrinkles and fine lines. For reducing the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles I ❤️ hyaluronic acid!!!! Products that are ideal for your skin type I’m a little lucky in the fact that I have combination skin and can use a range of products for my issues. Treating the wrong skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts and premature aging. Choosing the correct skin care routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy. Products that do not cause irritation to your skin barrier Our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. Using the proper skin care products for your skin type can help preserve this important protective layer. ☺️ Products that fit your budget and life The Ordinary creators have totally changed how we think about and buy skin care. Its allowed us to understand ingredients and offered them in ridiculously cheap formulas. It’s championed transparency in an industry that wants you to think expensive products are better. Nothing costs more than $20. In fact, the majority of it ranges at less than $10. This is largely in part thanks to The Ordinary's dedication to transparency, resulting in prices that aren't significantly marked up. Although if you can afford to spend $150 I’d recommend purchasing a Serum rather than a cleanser or moisturiser. Drop me a line about what you consider when you purchase skincare products. Is it the beautiful packaging, ingredient list or that you just saw a review and want to try it. ☺️ Have a wonderful day or evening Jade 🥂

Have You Heard About Heimish White Clay Foam?
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I’ve been double cleansing as part of my routine for a few months and it’s really helped with my skin texture. I ran out of my Puresource Manuka Honey 🍯 Cleanser I’d purchased from New Zealand so I’ve started using heimish - All Clean White Clay Foamover the past few days. The Heimish All Clean White Clay Foam claims to remove impurities from the skin and pores for a refreshing sensation. Ingredients include: 🧚♀️ Kaolin (Amazon White Clay), the most gentle of facial clays, it’s suitable for all skin types. It displays excellent absorption, allowing it to pull impurities out from the skin surface. And helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and clear pores of sebum, dirt, oil and surface debris for a clean, shine free outcome. 🧚♀️ There’s also Bentonite Clay, which creates a barrier between your skin and possible irritants. Bentonite clay also helps skincare products adhere to your skin and be more water resistant 🧚♀️ Hyaluronic Acid 💦 for intense hydration 🧚♀️ Coconut 🥥 Oil, Coconut oil is comedogenic, which means it can clog pores but it’s also a wonderful exfoliant and helps the lipid barrier retain moisture. Other ingredients derived from coconut oil are also present in this cleanser. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is an organic compound which contributes to the foaming properties of the product. 🧚♀️ Citrus 🍊 Oils in this cleanser contribute a freshening effect and also display antimicrobial and antiseptic abilities My thoughts 💭 🧚♀️ I’m quite impressed with heimish - All Clean White Clay FoamI wouldn’t have purchased the product myself but I received samples when I purchased some K Beauty Face Masks. By some, I mean 200 😂😂😂😂 I received enough samples of the heimish - All Clean White Clay Foamfor 2 weeks. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I also received lots more K Beauty goodies, that I can’t wait to trial. One of the perks of having to stock my online store. 😁 🧚♀️ It’s texture is pictured so it’s very thick but extremely smooth and soft when you apply. It’s meant to be a foaming cleanser but it didn’t froth when I massaged it into my skin. I wasn’t disappointed because it’s texture was more like a traditional Clay based cleanser. I like Clay based products. ☺️ 🧚♀️ My skins texture felt smoother and my skin felt more hydrated. 💦 🧚♀️ I was concerned about the coconut 🥥 oil as I have larger than average pores but it actually seems to be helping with reducing their appearance. Sebum or dead skin cells were literally falling off my face. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Would I purchase, probably but I’ll wait to see how the next nine days goes. Have you used the heimish - All Clean White Clay Foam? Or can you recommend a replacement for my Manuka Honey 🍯 Cleanser? Let me know by commenting below 😉 I’d love you hear from you beauty’s ❤️ Jade

Tasmanian Lavender: So Much More than I Thought
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I’ve always used Lavender for aromatherapy and thought I’d try products with Lavender as an ingredient. I’ve been using Maine Beaches Organic Tasmanian Lavender Lip Lustre and Hand Cream for the past few weeks and thought I’d share my results! A little History 📖 The origin of Lavender is believed to be from the Mediterranean, Middle East and India. Its history goes back some 2500 years. Lavender is a flowering plant of the mint family known for its beauty, its sweet floral fragrance and its multiple uses. 🪴 Ancient Egyptians used lavender as a perfume, Romans used lavender oils in soaps and cooking, they carried it with them throughout the Roman Empire. It’s long history as a beauty and medical treatment suggests that lavender oil is far more than just a pretty plant. It’s used as a means to fight headaches, reduce stress, and even keep bugs at bay! For the skin, Lavender oil not only boosts potent anti-inflammatory properties, but is also soothing for skin with its therapeutic scent. 🧚♀️ It’s antibacterial, killing acne causing bacteria that might infiltrate your pores. It’s perfect for preventing, calming, and healing painful acne breakouts. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 🧚♀️ It aides in balancing your skin’s moisture barrier, so that it isn’t too oily or too dry. Massage some french lavender lotion all over, or a lavender body butter onto extra dry areas to promote soft, itch free skin. 🧚♀️ You can use calming lavender oil for skin to help reduce redness, blotchy patches, and acne scarring. Lip Lustre The Lip Lustre is infused with Tasmania Lavender Oil and blueberry to nourish, plump, moisturise and protect dry lips. It has notes of grapefruit and Italian lemon give way to the unmistakable bouquet of Tasmania Lavender oil on a warm spicy base of patchouli. I’ve been pretty impressed with this lip balm, my lips are soft and smooth and they haven’t been flaky. I tend to use it three times a day which is far less than I usually apply my Favourite lip balm LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm Hand Cream 🧴 The Company say it’s a nourishing hand & nail creme infused with Tasmania lavender oil with certified organic cocoa butter. Cocoa Butter is an emollient and forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Its also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays. I’m loving the scent and the feel of this hand cream. My hands feel nourished and really hydrated. It also has Macadamia oil as an ingredient. The fatty acids nourish the skin, help combat dry skin and lock in moisture. It mimics your skin's natural oils, allowing you to maintain your natural glow. These are two of my favourite organic products right now. Do you use essential oils in your products? Drop me a comment if you do? I’d love to hear from you. Jade ☺️

Help: When Would You Apply This Super Serum?
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I’ve finally emptied my TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum and was thinking about adding Truskin Vitamin C Plus Super Serum to my day routine but it has retinol as an ingredient. l’ve read posts and recommendations from beauty’s and dermatologists that Vitamin C is for the day 🌞 and Retinol is to be applied at night 🌙 I’ve applied this principle to my routine since I started taking my skincare seriously so I’m looking for your recommendations. A little about the Serum. Truskin Super Serum has: 20% Vitamin C 5% Hyaluronic Acid 3.5% Niacinamide and 2.5% Retinol The Company say, this potent and richly concentrated age-defying serum is surprisingly gentle and incorporates easily into your skin care routine. Apply a few drops just 2-3 times a week under moisturiser or add it into your daily routine. Not really helpful if you have two routines 🙃 I have ✌🏽 My concern is retinol is effective at 0.01% or greater. Skinceuticals and Drunk Elephant products contain 1% which are known to be highly concentrated. While retinol is extremely effective, it does have its drawbacks, namely that it can cause irritation. Because serums contain higher concentrations of retinol, there can be a greater chance for redness, peeling, and dryness especially if they're paired with other powerful ingredients, like vitamin C. 🧐 I mentioned in a previous post that Skin Regime say, there’s a lot of uncertainty around the use of retinol and Vitamin C together. The uncertainty is around the ph levels. For your skin to absorb vitamin C 🍊 requires a low pH (0 to about 3.5) for skin absorption, retinol requires a higher pH level (around 5.5 to 6). When you mix vitamin C and retinol, the pH of vitamin C increases and the pH of retinol decreases—hence why it’s believed that the two ingredients render each other ineffective. Contrary to belief, retinol and vitamin C work fabulously together, especially when you apply them in the right succession. Studies have shown the retinol-vitamin C combination to be highly effective in reversing both natural aging and photoaging. Vitamin C 🍊 is also known to stabilise retinol, which can increase its effectiveness. When applied correctly, these ingredients form a barrier that protects the skin from the harmful environmental factors that cause skin damage and rapid aging. When used properly, retinol and vitamin C make the perfect skincare pair. So Beauty’s can you help a lady out please as all the information I’ve found is great but it doesn’t really tell me whether it’s a day or night serum. When would you apply this serum? Hoping to get some great advice from you all🤞🏽Until then I’ll put it away again and crack open my other bottle of TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum Have a wonderful day! Jade

It can be hard to find a toner that fits your skincare needs, so let me help you! I have recommendations for all skin types, but I personally believe that even if you have very oily skin your toner shouldn’t be stripping so all of these have hydrating properties. I have tried all of these toners and these are my favorites! GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner 🌼Oily and Combination Skin🌼 Because this toner has exfoliating acids in it, it is very beneficial for those with oily or combination skin. It can help those who struggle with acne and blackheads as well (no matter your skin type). It gently exfoliates the skin while still providing hydration. I love the thick texture and the scent the watermelon extract gives it. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner 🌸Dry, Combination, Normal, and Sensitive Skin🌸 This toner is AMAZING if you are looking for hydration. It has so many amazing ingredients including colloidal oatmeal which is actually considered an skin protectant by the FDA due to its effective soothing properties. Because of this it can be listed as an active ingredient. This toner has a watery but slightly thick consistency I really like. peach slices - Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner 🌼All Skin Types (Especially Dry)🌼 Out of all of these toners this is the one I think would work for pretty much everyone and is my personal favorite! It has acne fighting properties, it is SUPER hydrating (due to snail mucin being the first ingredient and addition of hyaluronic acid), there is no fragrance, and it sinks quickly into the skin. cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner 🌸All Skin Types (Especially Combination)🌸 Rosewater toners are great for the skin. It is soothing, calms redness, and helps balance PH. This one in particular is my favorite. It uses one ingredient (rosewater) unlike other popular rosewater toners. If you have any tried any of these products or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!

Exactly How Much Skin Product You Need 2 Use
Hey guys how much skin product should you be using during your routines, well in true holiday spirit let's compare the amount to candy 🍭😋😋
✨Guide to applying products to Dry or Damp Skin✨
My dermatologist recommended this to me. This is a great guide for applying products. I found myself not seeing results from certain serums and moisturizers. I did a post previously about why hyaluronic acid should be applied to damp skin, but this guide is 10xs better . Most moisturizers , serums, and even toners are best applied to damp skin. Why? Prepping your face with water helps prepare you skin to absorb products better. Wet skin is more permeable than dry skin. They help the skincare product to travel deeper, which is why things such as Retinoids and Acids should be used on dry skin (unless it’s formulated in a cleanser). I like to useKORRES - H2Rose Hydrating Face Mist as a prep for my serums during the day. It’s very light and has added benefit and vitamin C. At night I use a regular spray mist/bottles You can get these at your local beauty supply store or dollar store. The only serum I don’t apply to damp skin is vitamin C & niacinamide. A correctly formulated vitamin C will be made to be Ph balanced and having damp skin could dilute the effects of the product. Niacinamide (especially with zinc) is made to be an oil/sebum controller. The logic in my head says oil and water doesn’t mix and that’s what I have to go on (lol). If you ever feel your hydrating serum or moisturizer didn’t give you.. well.. hydration try this ! #dermatologisttips (Photo cred maximumskin on IG)

The Ordinary AHA/BHA Update 😧
This is honestly such a strong peel. I’ve had this same bottle for awhile now and I am just now getting low. Background: This a chemical peel comprised of 30% AHA (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric), 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid), Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5 Black Carrot Tasmanian Pepperberry. 💥AHA/BHA exfoliate the top layer of skin (epidermis) giving it a quick go to for blemishes, fine lines/wrinkles, and dark marks. (This is a high concentration of chemicals). 💥Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant which means it draws moisture to your skin. 💥Vitamin B5 is an anti inflammatory & a humectant 💥Black Carrot is an antioxidant 💥Tasmanian Pepperberry is a anti inflammatory, anti-oxidant & skin conditioner (also what gives the red color to this acid) How to use: 👉🏾 I now only use this peel once a month.. If you have/use other actives (retinol, acids, etc) then I also recommend this. This peel reaches so deep with a complex of acids, that using it once a week will really impact your skin! I found that using it once (or twice) a month has let my skin breathe. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 💥Use this for 10 mins **ONLY IF YOU HAVE USED ACID CHEMICAL PEELS BEFORE** . If not I recommend starting with 2-5 mins then working your way up 💥Apply with clean dry hands on a clean dry face. 💥 Do NOT apply dropper to skin. I recommend putting this in your hands and working on a thin layer. **DO NOT PUT A LOT ON YOUR FACE LIKE YOU SEE INFLUENCER DOING** 💥DO NOT USE A RETINOL, OTHER ACIDS, or VITAMIN C with this product during same routine. You’re just asking for over exfoliation. 💥DO NOT USE ON DAMAGED, PEELING, HEALING/SENSITIVE SCARS, OR ALREADY DRY SKIN (you will be sorry).

Everyone’s Least Favorite Bit of Advice
Hi there to the beauties of cherie!! If you’ve been told to be patient once, you’ve been told a million times! But what does that actually ... mean? Each active ingredient you add will promise a few specific results that you expect to see working. We’ve all had those moments where we buy a product that every review promised was a life saver, but after weeks of using it, our skin is no better for it. Here’s a simple and straightforward graphic to help you keep a realistic expectation of when you should start seeing results! having practical expectations also helped me to be kinder to myself by encouraging me to give my skin proper time and consistency.
