my beauty journey
i remember trying out whatever my mom used and not liking the smell. after that i pretty much assumed that skincare wasn’t for me. i have eczema so that means my skin is not only dry but SENSITIVE. as an adult, i started out with skincare. i used to wash my face and moisturize and leave it at that. after learning more, i began to experiment and am really comfortable with my skincare routine. currently, i’m learning about black hair and how to take care of it. i’ve been experimenting with sets and different sleep masks!
i express self care with beauty
i distinctly remember a time when i thought people who washed their face everyday or did a face mask were ridiculous. i barely made time to take care of my basic needs and it was reflected in my self esteem. i didn’t like my hair or my acne bumps. when i learned the importance of self care, it was easiest for me to start this practice through beauty. i began washing my face and caring what products i put on my skin. after that i started researching how to do black hair and asking for help. eventually, self care wasn’t just a small part of my day but it became the best part of my day. taking time each morning to take care of my body and focus on myself drastically improved my quality of life. self care is empowering and i learned that through focusing on beauty and skincare.

I have a very hard time sleeping, but with this tip it’s a lot easier to go to sleep! So first you don’t want to get into bed until you are completely ready. Don’t even sit on your bed, another tip that helped is meditating before bed just to get relaxed. Hope this helps!!
