✨ picking your BB/CC/tinted moisturizer

Tinted moisturizers (TMs), BB creams, and CC creams are all light coverage alternatives to foundation. But what’s the difference between each, and how do you pick the right one? ⭐️ TM, BB, or CC? ⭐️
TM- What it sounds like. Your standard daily moisturizer, just with a little color. Often light coverage.
BB Cream- stands for Beauty or Blemish balm. Combines moisturizer, primer, SPF, and tint. It’s an all-in-one product that’s usually light-medium coverage.
CC Cream- stands for Color Correcting. Contains pigments/undertones to correct redness or other discoloration. Coverage varies.
Any of these creams can be dewy or matte. They’re usually not full coverage- but in my experience, TMs are usually the lightest coverage and CCs are the thickest. ⭐️ TIPS TO PICK YOURS ⭐️ 🌸 Determine your skin type and concern. Do you want dewy skin, and minimal coverage? Go for Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint Medium-full coverage with SPF that looks like natural skin? it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+
An affordable, all in one tint with primer? MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30
That same thing, but with a matte finish? MAYBELLINE - Dream Matte BB Cream SPF15 Personally, I’ve been using the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30
for a year. My skin is sensitive, and it gives light coverage while looking like your skin. You can see how it covers my under eye circles and minor blemishes on the 3rd pic. That’s without concealer. It has never broken me out and it lasts all day. It only needs minimal touch ups for shine. It’s a gel that flows out of the bottle without spilling. I love how easy it is to work with and it has moisturizers like Shea Butter and Willow extract for skincare! BONUS: I tried the L'ORÉAL - Studio Secrets Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream
I liked it, though its odd- it comes out white and has little pigment bubbles that burst as you blend it into your skin. Texture is liquidy, but the finish on my face was nice and satiny. ⭐️ PICKING THE RIGHT COLOR ⭐️ 🌸 If you can, match within the same brand. Some brands use the same names for their BB cream and foundation lines. This saves a lot of hassle- with Too Faced, for example, I figured out I was usually their “Vanilla” shades. Sadly, TMs, BBs, and CC creams usually have less colors to choose from. But Colourpop, Black Radiance, and Laneige all have wide shade ranges. 🌸 If not, use a foundation matrix Temptalia, Sephora, and Findation all have a way for you to put your current foundation and find its match in other brands! This helps you break it down to not just get the right lightness, but also your undertones. 🌸 Mix & match. Truth is, there’s no perfect match for our skin. But the TMs, BBs, and CC can be mixed with other pigments to get the perfect match.

Need New Makeup Routine
Hi! So I'm finding my makeup routine isn't working as well as it used to. I'm currently using the Nyx Pore Filler Primer, Maybelline FitMe Foundation (I've tried both the matte and dewy), e.l.f. camo hydrating concealer, Maybelline BB Cream, and the Maybelline FitMe Loose Powder to finish (all linked below). I moisturize beforehand with an oil free moisturizer and use a moist makeup sponge to apply. My big issues are cakiness/creasing, rough skin from acne and scarring, redness, lots of visible pores, visible dark circles, and some dry patches near my eyes. I have combination skin so my cheeks and nose are VERY oily but my forehead and skin around my eyes is more dry. I'm just not getting the coverage I want and my face doesn't look smooth in the slightest. I'd like to stay on the cheaper side but would be willing to spend more for a product that really works. Any help is appreciated, thank you! 5 Multitasking Products!!
I start with applying the #MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30[products]#[FourStars] I use the shade 110. On days I want the SPF factor but more coverage I will add in 1-2 drops of the No. 7 foundation drops. I use a sponge to blend this but it also blends nicely with a brush or your hands! I’ve tried so many BB creams over the years and I typically have two main issues: lack of longevity and not being able to build up the coverage. The longevity of this BB cream surprised me, especially if I’m diligent with my skin prep - I can get up to 10 hours of wear!! Next I use the #e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer[products]#[FourStars] in the shade Tan-Walnut as a contour/bronzer. I dot this around the perimeters of my face and blend with my sponge. I sometimes use this on my lids for a subtle eyeshadow. Next I do my brows with the #e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow Pencil[products]#[ThreeStars] this product is just ok- there’s many other drugstore brow pencils that I prefer over this one (#L.A. Girl - Shady Slim Brow Pencil[products]#[FourStars] ) you can also use the elf pencil to line your eyes if it’s all you have on hand. Then I blot the #Kaja - Air Heart Lightweight Natural Finish Lipstick[products]#[FourStars] on my lips and if I don’t have a blush with me I actually use this on my cheeks and it’s a really rich plum colored tone that’s perfect for fall! Finally, I set everything with the #N°7 - Lift & Luminate Powder[products]#[FourStars] this powder is amazing!! It’s so finely milled and perfect for under the eyes and all over the face. I always carry this in my work bag to powder during the day if I get oily. I love that these products are so versatile and I can almost get a full face (minus mascara)!

My foundation collection 🥳
Here's a rundown of every foundation I have and my rating/opinion on them (the ones I've owned for quite a bit)! Enjoy :) MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation in 112 natural ivory - moves around a lot and isn't good for oily skin, since I found it to need lots of powder Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint in shades G10, 11 & 12 - they're tints, so don't expect full coverage - more like light-medium, you can build it up. I give them 4/5 stars bc they need to expand their shade range and bc I found I needed lots of powder to set this one. Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation in 140C - I'm so impressed by this one and I love it. So worth it and the shade range is really good. A good long wearing foundation and I didn't have any issues. Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation in seashell & cloud - I mix them together to get my perfect shade, since cloud is too light and seashell is too dark. Def one of the best foundations (if not the best) ever made. COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation in 510/porcelain - too light but not a bad foundation, more of a skin tint and the smell kinda bothers me I have yet to try all these in a wear test: DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundationin 1 cool rosy ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.75 HOURGLASS - Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stickin vanilla ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in 1C0 shell beautyblender - Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundationin 1.50 cool Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundationin 2 cool Next up to try: Fenty pro filt'r soft matte foundation and YSL all hours foundation - I have samples of both and I'm excited to try them

✨ powder + spray for the perfect base
I love my BB cream, but wearing it alone can start to look oily through the day. Plus, under eye foundation can start to crepe. Here’s the products I use to supplement it for a flawless base~ with a focus on my favorite powder & spray! 🌟 BASE 🌟 I’ve used the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30for over a year. It’s a great BB that evens your skin tone, and looks natural. It’s also non-comedogenic, and has moisturizers like Shea butter. Only problem is it can look oily if I spend the day with no powder. 🌟 CONCEALER 🌟 I use the Too Faced - Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealerwhich was sadly discontinued. :( But it’s not matte, nor too heavy for the under eyes. I’ve used the L'ORÉAL - True Match Super Blendable Concealer& bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, which were both comparable. ⭐️ POWDER ⭐️ In LOVE with the Beauty Bakerie - Flour Setting Powder in Oat (Translucent). It comes in the CUTEST bakery bag packaging when you get it, and it’s a loose powder. It has never felt too cakey, heavy, or overly mattifying. It has a blurring effect on my face. In the 2nd photo, it also seemed to brighten up my skin. My skin is sensitive, but it’s never irritated it- its gentle enough to even set under eye concealer. Beauty Bakerie powders have a large shade range, so deep & olive toned peeps don’t have to worry about a white cast. I’ve bought it 2x with my own money by now. It’s vegan, silicone + paraben-free, and flashback free. After trying other powders, I think this is my holy grail. ⭐️ SPRAY ⭐️ Let’s say you DO actually put too much powder on. A setting spray that makes you glow can help. I really enjoy the COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hydrating Setting Spray It’s affordable at $12, and comes with hyaluronic acid and 🥥 coconut water to moisturize your skin. It smells like fresh coconut with every spritz. With this spray over the powder, my skin looked glowing- but not overly oily. It also helps my eyeshadow melt into my skin, and just... brings the whole look together. Colourpop’s forte has always been eyeshadow imo, but I feel like they’re killing it in the base department now, too. I’ve used a lot of other base products before. I tried the Maybelline concealer, the L’Oreal True Match Foundation, the Urban Decay Naked skin powder and TonyMoly setting sprays. Some were too matte or broke me out, or just did nothing. I will def think of repurchasing these products when I run out (unless I want to try something new !) ✨ TLDR ✨ Use these products for natural looking, glowy (not oily) skin. Suitable for sensitive skin, and the powder has a large shade range.

🌺 drugstore blush for warm-neutral tones ☀️
If you’re wondering whether we have the same skin tone, here’s 3 foundations I’ve more-or-less matched with: L'ORÉAL - True Match Super-Blendable Foundation Makeupin N2/N3 Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundationin Vanilla PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30 in Light Aaaaand through trial & error, I’ve learned the best colors for my skin tone are: Peaches Salmon tones Rosy pinks The last of which is the tone of today’s product! L'ORÉAL - Visible Lift Radiance Cheek Duo in Romantic in Rose. Their website says the product is discontinued, but it looks like Walgreens still carries it. And I hope it does, because I really like this product. 🌺 PRODUCT REVIEW 🌺 This is a very pigmented blush and highlighter duo. Both have sparkles in them~ But the blush’s finish is like satin, while the highlighter is somewhere between metallic/ natural. The product is easy to build up for maximum pigment. In my swatches, I just circled my finger on it for a few seconds and THAT was the result. It lasts pretty much all day, though someone with more oily skin may want to blot off excess sheen. It’s definitely not a matte product. Easy to blend, easy to match for any occasion- I keep it in a bag in my car in case I need to stay the night at a friend’s and need a back up makeup kit for the next day. 🌺 HOW I APPLIED IT 🌺 I put the blush on my: Cheeks Undereyes & in the crease Since peach and pink cancel out blue under eye tones, I applied it there. I was partially inspired by Momoko makeup from Japan, where blush tends to go near the eyes! I brought it up to my eyes and crease, where it was pigmented enough to double as eyeshadow. Which I love to make the look cohesive. Keep in mind that I applied with a heavy hand in these pictures! You can use a lighter hand to look more natural. 🌸 COMPARISON TO COOLER-TONED BLUSH 🌸 Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with using colors outside what anyone recommends for your tone. Actually, sometimes “unnatural” colors are the best for experimental, creative looks. But I put the blush MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder in S214 to compare because it’s noticeably more cool-toned than the L’Oreal product. Sometimes, I have trouble telling if something is cool or warm toned alone. But when you put them next to each other, you see the difference. I still love this blush for more metallic, goth-ish makeup! But still, it can help you notice the colors that may be trickier to pull off on us like Mauve or Fuschia. What recommendations do you have for finding good blushes?

E.L.F Camo CC Cream🤔
Sooo, I was able to get my hands on the #E.L.F - Camo CC Cream[products]#[ThreeStars] when it was launched and I’ve been testing it since. I was SO excited to try this out, as I love cc creams! I was so sure I was going to love it, I bought two colors; one for winter and one for summer. So far, I’ve only seen this available on Elf’s website for $14. As stated, I have worn this several times, so I have some thoughts: Pros: This has pretty decent coverage. I’ve been applying one solid layer and then going back and adding a second layer to problem areas and have been satisfied with coverage. I think this could definitely be built up to full coverage. I really like the packaging, as it’s a tube with a pump, making it sanitary and easy to use. The ingredients in this are pretty nice. Some of them include: Hyaluronic acid, collagen, niacinamide and peptides. This also has SPF 30. This cc cream feels really light every time I wear it. No heaviness or anything like that. Cons: The finish on this is very odd. This is marketed as having a natural finish. This leaned more on the matte side of natural, which was surprising to me. I wasn’t expecting it to be super dewy, but I also expected it to be a little hydrating. It was not. My face appeared pretty dry every time I wore it. It also seemed to settle into fine lines and crack a lot in certain places(side of mouth, sides of nose, chin, etc), which hardly ever happens to me. Lastly, this emphasized texture as well. As my skin is super dry and a bit textured, due to a combination of weather and Accutane, I thought that maybe this was why the foundation didn’t have the best finish. BUT, I read some reviews on the website and watched a few reviews as well, and most people agreed with the above statements. Another con to me was the shade range. There are 20 shades with various undertones, which in theory, seems decent for a cc creams. Basically, they have a cool, neutral and warm option for each shade range( fair, light, medium, etc.). I have very neural undertones, so I went with the fair neutral and the light neutral. The fair was extremely fair for me, but the light was at least 2-3 , or more, shades darker than the fair. That’s a big jump. I ended up mixing the two colors, which isn’t a huge deal, but it’s annoying that if I continued to use this, I’d have to buy two products every time I repurchased. I’m going to keep playing around with this and see if I can find a combination that makes this look better. This definitely isn’t the worst cc cream ever, but I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping this could be an affordable dupe for the it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+but it’s not. I’m going to try different primers under this and see is that helps. My dry, flaky, textured skin could definitely be attributing to the finish. Maybe this will work better in the summer when I’m not as dry and flaky? Let’s hope!🤞🏼 Has anyone else tried this? Thoughts? Suggestions?

He want that cake cake cake 🍰 🎂
Hey Cherie Fam! 🍒 I attempted to do a Christmas look today with the cake palette from Glamlite, but I failed miserably. I used the shade “red velvet” thinking it would be red, but it turned out to be a fuchsia. My lids are supposed to be green, but it turned out to be teal so now this look turned to be a cotton Candy look 😢 Anyway, this is a great rainbow palette 🌈 but if you’re looking for a true red, there isn’t a shade in here. The shimmers aren’t a true green either. It’s not exactly primary colors of a rainbow palette, but I love the formula. To achieve this look, I used: 1️⃣ Red velvet and packed it all over the crease then I blended it 2️⃣ I grabbed a smaller brush and dipped in to cranberry to blend the edges of red velvet 3️⃣ I cut my crease and packed avocado all over my lid. This shade is from the burger slider palette 4️⃣ I placed cinnamon on my inner corner 5️⃣ Red velvet, cranberry and raspberry on the lower lash 6️⃣ Mascara and falsies. I used house of lashes in demure lite Check out out my Instagram because I’m doing 12 days of Christmas. I will be posting a look everyday until Christmas. Happy holidays all! Xoxo, Francesca

The Perfect “No-Makeup” Makeup Product
The Perfect “No-Makeup” Makeup Product
I’m not really one for foundation. I usually use a very light foundation if I do wear some — i.e. The Ordinary’s serum foundation. I’m unfortunately a “face toucher” so I can’t be bothered with face make up very often. I usually slap on concealer and bronzer in terms of face make up. With that being said, I’ve been loving the Graydon products I currently have and when I saw that they had a tinted moisturizer primer I had to try it. I read so many good reviews! GRAYDON - Face Glow For 40 mL this cost $24 CAD. I find I only use a tiny bit so the 40 mLs will last me a while. 🍁(PS it’s on sale. Regularly priced at $46 CAD)🍁 After my skincare I’ll pop this onto my face like I would any normal moisturizer. I use such a small amount and find it blends in beautifully. You can use a sponge or a brush but I’m lazy so I just use my fingers lol. This is perfect for a “no makeup” makeup look. The tint is gorgeous and gives me a healthy glow/complexion. Your skin looks radiant without looking like you’re wearing anything! I think it could work on most skin tones if you also wanted to just apply it as a highlight to your cheek bones or brow bones, or even under makeup as an actual primer. My concealer sits nicely over top of this and doesn’t cake or crease :) And with my bronzer I get a nice sun-kissed glow. I haven’t noticed any break outs, which is always good! 👌🏻 Haha! Why It’s Amazing: + It firms skin and improves elasticity with semi-precious smithsonite +Your skin glows with mineral-rich sustainably sourced mica +It brightens your complexion with ellagic acid rich raspberry seed oil +It minimizes the appearance of dark circles and spots with nutrient rich spirulina +It soothes your skin with aloe vera juice and zinc-rich pumpkin seed oil +It renews your look with skin nurturing sea buckthorn seed oil +It shields your face against the elements with non-nano zinc +It protects your skin from environmental stressors with rich buriti oil 100% recommend ❤️

Summer makeup picks 🌞💦
Summer makeup picks 🌞💦
During the summertime, I hate the feeling of anything cakey on my face. I normally use It Cosmetics CC Cream as my foundation, but I like something even lighter to even my skin tone in summer! I am absolutely obsessed with this product. I would definitely describe it as a very low coverage product, but it is the perfect amount of coverage for me. I apply drops to my cheeks and t-zone and then blend it in with a damp beauty blender. I have used my fingers before and it spread very easily, but I prefer to use the sponge! It provides even coverage all over my face, and wears so well throughout the day. Sometimes I will place a translucent powder over it if I know I will be out in the heat, but otherwise I just leave it and mist a dewy setting spray over it!Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint As you can see in the last photo, it’s great for covering imperfections but leaving things like freckles visible 😊

Makeup mistakes: choosing the wrong shade
Makeup mistakes: choosing the wrong shade
I spent the longest time not really understanding (or caring) about makeup, especially when it came to choosing a face makeup product. I like very light coverage, but was having trouble finding something that suited me. I finally settled on It Cosmetics CC Cream. This is a rather full-coverage product as far as CC creams go. For the longest time I was wearing this product in a shade that was about two shades too dark for my natural skin tone. If I had just fake tanned it looked okay, but any other time it was WAY too dark, especially against my neck and chest. I was just really lazy and did not want to take the time to go to a store in-person and figure out which shade was right for me. Once I finally did, it was a total game changer. My whole face looked so much better, and my makeup looks were so much more natural. So the moral of the story is, take that extra time to find your correct shade! It makes all the difference! #CheriePartner

#ad #cheriepartner This product was on my wishlist for well over a year before I finally took the plunge. I had very high expectations due to the price tag and they were met AND exceeded! This is such a great multipurpose product. You can use it as a glowy primer (I love to do that when I’m wearing a light coverage base), you can mix it into your foundation to add a little glow and/or you can use it as a highlighter after your base is applied! I have applied this over setting powder and powder blush and bronzers and have NEVER had an issue with it disturbing the product underneath it. It makes my skin look dewy, healthy and glowy, it lasts all day and words cannot express just how much I love it!! It is 100% worth the money in my opinion. I have the shade 2 Light, which is described as a neutral peachy beige for fair skin. Swipe for a swatch. It’s a little icy for my faux summer tan, but any other time of the year it’s the perfect highlighter shade for my light skin tone and my preferences. If you have been wanting to try it, I can’t recommend it enough! Buy it and thank me later! 😁🙌🏼 #charlottetilbury #hollywoodflawlessfilter #dewyglow #dewyskin #holygrailproduct #flawlessfilter
