🌺 drugstore blush for warm-neutral tones ☀️
If you’re wondering whether we have the same skin tone, here’s 3 foundations I’ve more-or-less matched with: L'ORÉAL - True Match Super-Blendable Foundation Makeupin N2/N3 Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundationin Vanilla PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30
& in the creaseSince peach and pink cancel out blue under eye tones, I applied it there. I was partially inspired by Momoko makeup from Japan, where blush tends to go near the eyes! I brought it up to my eyes and crease, where it was pigmented enough to double as eyeshadow. Which I love to make the look cohesive. Keep in mind that I applied with a heavy hand in these pictures! You can use a lighter hand to look more natural. 🌸 COMPARISON TO COOLER-TONED BLUSH 🌸 Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with using colors outside what anyone recommends for your tone. Actually, sometimes “unnatural” colors are the best for experimental, creative looks. But I put the blush MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder

M O O D Y ☔️ Mauve Lips & Blush
I'm a little nervous with mauve makeup. If you have warm-toned skin, it can have a tendency to make you look washed out. There are some warm mauves out there, but sometimes they lean too pink. But I found a combo that I think mixed warm and cooler mauves to make a moody, soft grunge-y look. B L U S H MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder (Shade: S214) Make Up Forever's strength as a brand is how many variety they have. I feel like it's created for the artist who needs a whole blush palette to work with. As such, it ended up being one of the few brands to have a pink-purple-mauvey blush. I love this blush because it's pigmented, but not too much. And it doesn't emphasize skin texture. It just blends in easily, and lasts the whole day. In this picture, I'm wearing no base. Just the blush buffed all over my nose, cheeks, and under eyes. L I P S Beauty Bakerie - Matte Lip Whip (Shade: Versailles) Versailles is an interesting color because it looks warm or cool depending on the lighting. But it's a beautiful matte purple pink. The product texture is a little bit sticky, but it also lasts longer than the average liquid lipstick. It lasted through my workout session and two meals. If you don't mind the texture, it's definitely great for anyone who wants minimal touchups throughout the day. 😅 Even though I look as moody as a summer’s day here, I have taken this look to an inner city before. It looks very sophisticated, and seems to fit settings with grey streets and tall buildings. (Can't help giving a theme to every makeup look I do!) Have you tried any other products from these brands ?

high end foundations comparison PT 2
I wanted to continue my foundation post, bc there's more to compare, like coverage, price, and finish. So let's get to it - ✨COVERAGE: medium: rare beauty, too faced, armani, dior full: beautyblender, charlotte tilbury, hourglass, estee lauder ✨FINISH: natural: rare beauty, too faced, armani, beautyblender, dior, hourglass matte: charlotte tilbury, estee lauder ✨PRICE: armani - $64, beautyblender - $40 ($20 on sale at Sephora and BB.com) charlotte tilbury - $44, dior - $40, estee lauder - $43, hourglass - $46, rare beauty - $29, too faced - $40
My foundation collection 🥳
Here's a rundown of every foundation I have and my rating/opinion on them (the ones I've owned for quite a bit)! Enjoy :) MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation in 112 natural ivory - moves around a lot and isn't good for oily skin, since I found it to need lots of powder Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint in shades G10, 11 & 12 - they're tints, so don't expect full coverage - more like light-medium, you can build it up. I give them 4/5 stars bc they need to expand their shade range and bc I found I needed lots of powder to set this one. Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation in 140C - I'm so impressed by this one and I love it. So worth it and the shade range is really good. A good long wearing foundation and I didn't have any issues. Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation in seashell & cloud - I mix them together to get my perfect shade, since cloud is too light and seashell is too dark. Def one of the best foundations (if not the best) ever made. COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation in 510/porcelain - too light but not a bad foundation, more of a skin tint and the smell kinda bothers me I have yet to try all these in a wear test: DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundationin 1 cool rosy ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.75 HOURGLASS - Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stickin vanilla ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in 1C0 shell beautyblender - Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundationin 1.50 cool Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundationin 2 cool Next up to try: Fenty pro filt'r soft matte foundation and YSL all hours foundation - I have samples of both and I'm excited to try them
✨ powder + spray for the perfect base
I love my BB cream, but wearing it alone can start to look oily through the day. Plus, under eye foundation can start to crepe. Here’s the products I use to supplement it for a flawless base~ with a focus on my favorite powder & spray! 🌟 BASE 🌟 I’ve used the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30for over a year. It’s a great BB that evens your skin tone, and looks natural. It’s also non-comedogenic, and has moisturizers like Shea butter. Only problem is it can look oily if I spend the day with no powder. 🌟 CONCEALER 🌟 I use the Too Faced - Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealerwhich was sadly discontinued. :( But it’s not matte, nor too heavy for the under eyes. I’ve used the L'ORÉAL - True Match Super Blendable Concealer& bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer, which were both comparable. ⭐️ POWDER ⭐️ In LOVE with the Beauty Bakerie - Flour Setting Powder in Oat (Translucent). It comes in the CUTEST bakery bag packaging when you get it, and it’s a loose powder. It has never felt too cakey, heavy, or overly mattifying. It has a blurring effect on my face. In the 2nd photo, it also seemed to brighten up my skin. My skin is sensitive, but it’s never irritated it- its gentle enough to even set under eye concealer. Beauty Bakerie powders have a large shade range, so deep & olive toned peeps don’t have to worry about a white cast. I’ve bought it 2x with my own money by now. It’s vegan, silicone + paraben-free, and flashback free. After trying other powders, I think this is my holy grail. ⭐️ SPRAY ⭐️ Let’s say you DO actually put too much powder on. A setting spray that makes you glow can help. I really enjoy the COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hydrating Setting Spray It’s affordable at $12, and comes with hyaluronic acid and 🥥 coconut water to moisturize your skin. It smells like fresh coconut with every spritz. With this spray over the powder, my skin looked glowing- but not overly oily. It also helps my eyeshadow melt into my skin, and just... brings the whole look together. Colourpop’s forte has always been eyeshadow imo, but I feel like they’re killing it in the base department now, too. I’ve used a lot of other base products before. I tried the Maybelline concealer, the L’Oreal True Match Foundation, the Urban Decay Naked skin powder and TonyMoly setting sprays. Some were too matte or broke me out, or just did nothing. I will def think of repurchasing these products when I run out (unless I want to try something new !) ✨ TLDR ✨ Use these products for natural looking, glowy (not oily) skin. Suitable for sensitive skin, and the powder has a large shade range.
✨ picking your BB/CC/tinted moisturizer
Tinted moisturizers (TMs), BB creams, and CC creams are all light coverage alternatives to foundation. But what’s the difference between each, and how do you pick the right one? ⭐️ TM, BB, or CC? ⭐️ TM- What it sounds like. Your standard daily moisturizer, just with a little color. Often light coverage. BB Cream- stands for Beauty or Blemish balm. Combines moisturizer, primer, SPF, and tint. It’s an all-in-one product that’s usually light-medium coverage. CC Cream- stands for Color Correcting. Contains pigments/undertones to correct redness or other discoloration. Coverage varies. Any of these creams can be dewy or matte. They’re usually not full coverage- but in my experience, TMs are usually the lightest coverage and CCs are the thickest. ⭐️ TIPS TO PICK YOURS ⭐️ 🌸 Determine your skin type and concern. Do you want dewy skin, and minimal coverage? Go for Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint Medium-full coverage with SPF that looks like natural skin? it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ An affordable, all in one tint with primer? MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30 That same thing, but with a matte finish? MAYBELLINE - Dream Matte BB Cream SPF15 Personally, I’ve been using the PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30 for a year. My skin is sensitive, and it gives light coverage while looking like your skin. You can see how it covers my under eye circles and minor blemishes on the 3rd pic. That’s without concealer. It has never broken me out and it lasts all day. It only needs minimal touch ups for shine. It’s a gel that flows out of the bottle without spilling. I love how easy it is to work with and it has moisturizers like Shea Butter and Willow extract for skincare! BONUS: I tried the L'ORÉAL - Studio Secrets Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream I liked it, though its odd- it comes out white and has little pigment bubbles that burst as you blend it into your skin. Texture is liquidy, but the finish on my face was nice and satiny. ⭐️ PICKING THE RIGHT COLOR ⭐️ 🌸 If you can, match within the same brand. Some brands use the same names for their BB cream and foundation lines. This saves a lot of hassle- with Too Faced, for example, I figured out I was usually their “Vanilla” shades. Sadly, TMs, BBs, and CC creams usually have less colors to choose from. But Colourpop, Black Radiance, and Laneige all have wide shade ranges. 🌸 If not, use a foundation matrix Temptalia, Sephora, and Findation all have a way for you to put your current foundation and find its match in other brands! This helps you break it down to not just get the right lightness, but also your undertones. 🌸 Mix & match. Truth is, there’s no perfect match for our skin. But the TMs, BBs, and CC can be mixed with other pigments to get the perfect match.

DUPE ALERT! Mac fix / L’Oréal true match
This foundation has always been my go to, #1 choice and it’s so cheap! I have tried so many different foundations and honestly, nothing compares. Even high end ones! After doing a lot of research, I found out that the ingredients in a lot of “drug store” brands are actually nearly identical to other more expensive makeup brands. I always wondered why the L’Oréal true match was SO good and now I know! It’s nearly identical to the Mac Fix that people swear by. You’re welcome 😘
pastel pink eyeshadow look w/ new purchases!
I have always wanted to do a pink eye look but I never had the right palette for it! I recently purchased some new products (mainly from elf) so here’s a look with some of my new purchases that I used!! 💓 BEAUTY BAY - Bright Matte 42 Colour Palette The shadows are very pigmented and blend easily! When I dipped my brush in the shadows looked dusty but I didn’t get any fallout and they performed nicely. I 100% recommend this palette because you get 42 shades that are good quality for $20.00!!!!! e.l.f. - Flawless Finish Foundation I have dry combo skin and this foundation looks beautiful on my skin!!!! It has a moussey texture/consistency that gives you a velvety finish. It’s medium coverage for me but definitely buildable and doesn’t leave me cakey at all, it also blends really well. It’s a $6 foundation that feels luxurious so it can’t hurt to try it out! e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer One of my new favorite concealers. It has a thick consistency that is gives you a lot of coverage. A little goes a long way when you’re applying. Since it does have a thicker texture, it’s a bit difficult to blend in comparison to a concealer that is creamier; like the loreal infallible pro-glow concealer or the maybelline fit me concealer. However, it is and feels very hydrating it doesn’t dry my under eyes at all. Overall I do love it and will be repurchasing and using when I want more coverage. e.l.f. - e.l.f. Contour Palette Absolutely love! I recently fell in love with cream bronzing and this gives me exactly what I want. It does give you a nice sharp contour; however I love it for warming up my face. This palette gives me a nice bronzey and tan look while making it look natural at the same time. It blends nicely and is very creamy so it’s easy to work with. 💓 All in all, I was very satisfied with these products that I included in this look. I have more new purchases that are arriving soon and can’t wait to try out and share my thoughts on here!

My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
Who doesn't enjoy convenience? We're human. We love convenience in all shapes and sizes. Why do you think delivery apps are skyrocketing in popularity? While I love a good meal delivered to my front door, I can also appreciate an all-in-one makeup pallet. My Go-To All-In-One Face Pallet: The Kevyn Aucoin Art of Sculpting + Defining pallet is my #1 choice for a natural everyday pallet that gets the job done fast. I find myself reaching for this pallet when I know I don't have much time to spend on my day's makeup. The pallet retails for $59. Is It Worth It? For me, the creme de la creme of face pallets is the 'The Contour Book Volume II' by Keyin Aucoin. As a longtime fan of his Sculpting Powder, which gives you a Kim K-worthy contour, this pallet comes with my beloved chiseling power and a cream version, highlighters, and four eyeshadows. Altogether, you get a total of eight pans. Naturally, the face products are larger than the eyeshadows. I love almost everything in this pallet. I'm personally not the biggest eyeshadow person, so I use the shadows as an inner corner highlight instead! Plus, the darker eyeshadow shade can double as a brow powder for me. It comes with a huge mirror, too, making great for travel or minor touch-ups. There's also a handy guide that teaches you how to sculpt your cheekbones out and use the eyeshadows to naturally shape and define the eyes. Tip: I love layering the Candlelight Cream and Candlelight Powder. The subtle shimmer in the powder really makes the cream highlight pop. Plus, it makes it last longer! Final Thoughts: I love this pallet, and I ultimately think it's worth it. If not for anything else, I continue to buy this pallet for the Sculpting Powder alone. It's seriously THE BEST contour powder I've ever used.

Foxy eyes 💫 👀💫
During social distancing, I’ve been trying to keep thinking positively through self care. I’ve been playing around with makeup and testing out new looks using products I already have at home. Enter: this foxy eye look which is a far cry from my usually minimalist “no makeup” makeup look. I’m pretty proud with how this turned out and it has some cool 90s vibes. Plus, it showcases some of my favorite (affordable) makeup products!

A $7 Concealer Worth Trying
Yesterday I was rushing out the door for work and realized on my drive that I remembered everything except to put on my usual mascara and concealer. I decided to stop and grab any old concealer because that’s the one makeup product I can’t leave the house without (well, can leave the house without but don’t want to lol). I can do without mascara for a 12 hour night shift at the hospital though. I stopped at Walmart and decided to try the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer because the price was right and the shade seemed relatively close to my favourite Too Faced Born This Way concealer. My Thoughts: + Concealer is light-weight. It claims to be full-coverage but I found it more sheer than other full-coverage concealers I’ve tried + It comes in a lot of shades which is great (28 I think!). I don’t think I picked up my exact shade but it was close enough when I was in a pinch. I grabbed the light beige. + It’s a satin-finish which I liked + It blends nicely at first. I did notice a tiny bit of creasing after a few hours of wear, but nothing anyone would notice unless you were looking for it haha + It’s hydrating! There’s nothing worse than a concealer that dries out your under eye area + The price is right. $7 CAD and you get a decent amount of product + I think this concealer oxidizes so be mindful of that I would definitely repurchase this product, although it wouldn’t be my number 1 concealer. I need to find my correct shade haha :)

Magic in a bottle ✨
#ad #cheriepartner This product was on my wishlist for well over a year before I finally took the plunge. I had very high expectations due to the price tag and they were met AND exceeded! This is such a great multipurpose product. You can use it as a glowy primer (I love to do that when I’m wearing a light coverage base), you can mix it into your foundation to add a little glow and/or you can use it as a highlighter after your base is applied! I have applied this over setting powder and powder blush and bronzers and have NEVER had an issue with it disturbing the product underneath it. It makes my skin look dewy, healthy and glowy, it lasts all day and words cannot express just how much I love it!! It is 100% worth the money in my opinion. I have the shade 2 Light, which is described as a neutral peachy beige for fair skin. Swipe for a swatch. It’s a little icy for my faux summer tan, but any other time of the year it’s the perfect highlighter shade for my light skin tone and my preferences. If you have been wanting to try it, I can’t recommend it enough! Buy it and thank me later! 😁🙌🏼 #charlottetilbury #hollywoodflawlessfilter #dewyglow #dewyskin #holygrailproduct #flawlessfilter
