Old vs New: Best Eyeliner for Oily Eyelids

I think black cat eyeliner is a staple for many makeup lovers. There’s a lot of options: gel, liquid, felt, you name it. But if you have super oily eyelids like me, they all smudge on you. One of the last eyeliners I had was the 3INA 24H Pen Eyeliner. After wearing it for a few months, I laid down the pros and cons. 🌟 Pros: it was that it’s really matte black on first application. The felt tip also withstood a lot of use, and even though it’s not waterproof, it can withstand getting an accidental splash of water. ❗️Cons: it smudged to my lower eyelids by the end of the day. I didn’t get full raccoon eyes, but definitely enough color to convince you I was wearing soft gray smoky eyes. Later, I tried another eyeliner: LORAC Front of the Line Pro Liquid Eyeliner. Since trying it for the first time, I have repurchased it twice over! 🌟Pros: It lasts all day with minimal need for touch up! And when it does come off, it seems to peel off more smoothly, so you don’t have as much of a shadow. The brush tip also makes it easier to apply a thin line. It has more of a satin, skin-like finish. ❗️Cons: It’s not as dark black as 3INA’s. It feathers a little at the tear duct, but nothing a tiny pinch of color can’t fix. After trying these (and like 10 other liners before it), I found my favorite eyeliner. What other eyeliners would you recommend for oily lids?

There are stars on your eyelashes⭐🌌
There are stars on your eyelashes⭐🌌
Most mascaras are black or brown. I found a silver-tinted mascara. It's very special. It's not exaggerated on your eyes, but it will make your eyes more vivid. The one I use is  YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara. This mascara has many shades, and one of my favorite is #07, as shown in the picture. It comes with silver glitter, and brushing it on the eyelashes will make the eyes more vivid, as if your eyes can talk. It is suggested to apply a thin layer of mascara to base first, and then apply this one. It's just like the stars and galaxy are on your eyelashes when it's done. Every blink of an eye has its own special effects. And another reason why I love it is that the eyelashes are still clear after applying.

Green + Gold Liner Look for Monolids!
Green + Gold Liner Look for Monolids!
A simple graphic liner look for my fellow monolided people! NYX - Slim Eye Pencil in Moss: easy to use, easy to smudge, but after setting it it didn’t transfer even on my monolids, color pay off is great, f**king love this muted green. NYX - Glitter Goals Liquid Eyeliner in Zodiac Queens: the formula is thinner than I expected and it takes a few strokes to get a solid line. but on the other hand we won’t mess up that easy. took off a star because after some time of wear it becomes almost crispy lol and peels off if you touch it. the brown shadow is actually the RIMMEL - Natural Bronzer Waterproof Bronzing Powder SPF 15 in 027 Sun Dance. long time favorite. this is probably my 3rd pan. I like to use my bronzer on my eyelids and nose to keep the color consistent on my face, plus it gives my eyes a bit more depth. for mascara I just used L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara in 201 Black. did it weigh down my lashes a bit? absolutely. did it make my lashes more longer, more visible and didn’t transfer onto my lids? also absolutely. I just believe everyone should embrace the eye shapes we were born with. there are definitely days I wish I have deep eye sockets and naturally soft, curled up lashes. but at the end of the day, my lashes protect my eyes, and my eye shapes are part of my heritage. I think my lashes look pretty good here and they fit the look.

Can eyebrow shape change your face and style?
Can eyebrow shape change your face and style?
Finding your eyebrow shape can be a challenging journey from overplucking to overdrawing. Everyone’s journey will be different, and as we all know, eyebrows are sisters, not twins. This can be hard to accept if you find your brows do not match, but there are many ways to solve this which I will talk you through some of my tips later on. My brow journey is probably similar to most my age. As a young teen, I never considered the power brows had in changing your appearance and framing your face. It was only in 2016 when Cara Delevingne changed the brow game with her beautiful bushy eyebrows that I began taking notice of them. To save money, I had only professionally had my brows plucked twice and so to maintain them, I attempted to follow tutorial images on how to shape them with tweezers. This seemed to do the job, yet brows were still never the strongest feature on my face. My face shape is quite oval with sharp cheekbones, so a sharp-lined brow would suit my face to complement my pre-existing facial features.   To achieve the bushy brow, look, I next began filling them with dark brown powder or brown eyeshadow. Although I have light hair, my eyebrows are brown. However, at this stage, I filled them in with a shade too dark they became a distracting feature on my face rather than a complementing one.   Seven years later, and this is the brow shape I currently have. I would describe this as a soft arch as there is a definite arch; however, it has a gentle curve to it that complements that shape of my eye. I am so pleased with the shape and style of my brows. It has taken a long time and lots of patience to grow them out and find my perfect brow shape. I often use castor oil at night to moisturise them, which I believe helped with the process. Additionally, I use a home brow dye kit from ‘Eylure’ in the shade dark brown which helps me to avoid overdrawing my brows as I use the NYX brow pencil in taupe to finalise the shape and fill any minor sparse areas. To set them, I have begun using a bar of soap from Amazon, which holds them perfectly in place all day and helps add length and thickness to my brows. I would recommend everyone to try this trend out as I know it’s something that will remain a part of your beauty routine.

a guide to hooded eyes
a guide to hooded eyes
here’s some very important do’s and don’ts for those of us with sleepy eyes or bedroom eyes- that i’ve found to get the most playful or sultry looks. 1) always utilise your eye space - bring your eyeshadow all the way up to your brow bone, and then “cut a crease” with a sparkly or dark eyeshadow in your natural fold to make it look like you have more eyelid than you actually do. to make it simpler, here’s your steps: a. primer/concealer b. base color c. crease to brow bone: medium shade d. crease: darkest shade (create a shadow) e. sparkly/bright color on eyelid f. blend! 2) dark colors outside, light colors inside -this creates some gorgeous depth and makes my eyes look sexy and mysterious even with a harshly blended smoky eye. a smoky eye becomes a whole new look for you when you create this kind of shape. 3) BLEND BLEND BLEND -ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS blend your eyeshadow. if you don’t, you look like a 13 year old who got into Momma’s makeup bag. blending the base color into the crease color into your statement shimmer is the best way to make your seamless eye look really pop. 4) don’t be afraid of eyeliner! for the longest time, i was afraid of eyeliner because it would overshadow my eyeshadow and make my eyes look sunken and dark. if you make a nice thin line almost inside your lashes, you can give the illusion of more eyelid. my best tip for wings on hooded eyes is to draw the line first and then do one nice thin line angled towards the end of your eyebrow. then, if you want a thicker (or longer) wing you can work from there. ALSO! Give white crayon eyeliner on your waterline a shot. it give the illusion of bigger eyes, and brightens the white of your eyeball. don’t use liquid eyeliner for this, sh*t STINGS. 5) mascara!! -a good mascara opens your eyes up and makes you look bushy tailed and glamorous. now remember, if the rest of your makeup is low key, you can use a more natural mascara to look enhanced. however, if you have a shimmery smoky eye and cleopatra eyeliner, go big or go home baby! 6) highlight -highlight the inner corner of your eye. it makes your eye look bigger and draws attention across your eyes, making them appear more almond shaped. also, it just looks pretty! happy blending!
