NEW 🚨 Fenty Skin gel great for oily skin!
There’s a couple of things that set this product apart from most overnight moisturizers: ⭐️ It’s refillable More moisturizers are going vegan, recyclable, and cruelty free. This product has all of that + a reusable package. ⭐️ It’s great for oily skin I’ll break down the ingredients that make it that way below. ⭐️ It comes with a spatula + mirror for application So you don’t have to worry about it getting under long nails! The 4th picture shows how my skin looked the morning after application. I didn’t wash my face so you can see its effect. I only moisturized my lips + under eyes. This is the most oil friendly moisturizer I’ve used in a long time! My t-zone is oily, but in the morning, it just looked glowy. It felt like my skin soaked up the product and felt bouncy. 🌹 KEY INGREDIENTS 🌹 Kalahari Melon Oil 🍉 Rich in linolenic acid, an omega fatty acid. Some research suggests that acne prone skin has low amounts of this, and high amounts of oleic acid (which DOES clog pores). Coconut oil 🥥 is an example of oleic acid, which is why it’s comedogenic. So basically, linolenic balances out oleic acid to reduce oil and prevent acne. Vitamin B3 (Niacin) This baby soothes rosacea and acne redness. Also reduces sebum. Japanese raisin tree + Cactus Flower 🌵 + Green Tea 🍵 PHEW all three of this are effective antioxidants. Cactus flower also has minerals like magnesium and iron to smooth your skin. Baobab 🌳 A tree whose fruit contains Vitamin B, C, and Omega fatty acids. Helpful and gentle for skin with eczema. Australian Lemon Myrtle 🍋 A gentle anti-bacterial astringent that tightens your pores. 🌹 APPLICATION 🌹 Scent: Fruity You guys this has such a specific scent I’m having trouble placing. It smells like a fruit smoothie- Like something that used to be a Victoria’s Secret perfume. The aroma isn’t overbearing- Actually, I willingly kept smelling it ! I want to say it smells like Victoria’s Secret Love Spell or Berry Kiss? Texture: Gel/Cream This doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. And it’s easy to spread so you don’t have to use a lot. By the morning, it felt like I wasn’t wearing moisturizer anymore- But like my skin was hydrated. It’s a little more a gel than a cream- But I like that! 🌹 FINAL THOUGHTS / WOULD I RECOMMEND ? 🌹 Oh yes. This will be great for people with oily - normal skin. If any of you have dry skin, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. It’s $40 for 1.7 oz~ The refill cost is $36. A little pricey, but I found that linolenic acid has a short shelf life (3-6 months). With how little you have to use, this product is still very worth it if your skin is irritation-prone. I give FENTY SKIN - Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Gel-Cream 5 ⭐️s for tackling aging, oiliness, acne, and dullness in one product. ONE MORE THING: Can any of you help me figure out what this smells like ! It’s delicious and I want to figure it out! ✨

job interview nails 💼 marshmellow+mademoiselle
These are two of my oldest nail polishes, and holy grails. From super pale to deep, these colors seem to match every skin tone. AND a plus with the Mademoiselle (sheer pearl) shade is that it’s so sheer, it almost gives your nails a faded french mani look. 💅🏼 NAIL DETAILS 💅🏼 NAIL SHAPE: Squoval / rounded Basically, a polished version of your natural nail shape will always look professional. Square and almond nails can fit creative and fashion industries~ Rounded plays it safe. And gosh I love stiletto nails! But those might be best when you already have the job. COLORS: essie - Enamel Nail Polish (Sheer pearl nude) essie - Enamel Nail Polish (Sheer white) Both are $8.99 for 0.46 fl oz. Mademoiselle is the YNBB (your nails but better) polish. Here, I’m wearing 3 coats of it. It’s far from opaque, but gives my nails a blurry shine. It makes the white ends of your nails blend in the rest of it like a fake ombre at a glance. I couldn’t recommend it more. Marshmallow is a beautiful sheer off-white. I built it up to nearly full opacity with 3 coats, but 2 coats will look like a wash of color. I put 4 stars instead of 5 because it can be a little patchy- So you have to go over it in a way that will even it out. POLISH TYPE: Regular nail polish that’s mostly dry in 10 minutes. Dry enough to survive your fingers brushing on it, but not a hit. Give it a drying boost with a top coat like Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat 🌑 DESIGN IDEAS TO SPRUCE IT UP 🌑 These colors make the perfect base for job interview nails. You can complement it with tones like Burgundy Black Grey Forest green Navy Blue Mauve ... for a sophisticated, serious look. It can be hard to predict what kind of nail polish designs will fly depending on your job interview. But here are some ideas that at least give off a mature, confident vibe: Standard French Mani (I’ve never seen it fail) Gradient nails Geometric shapes 🌺 BONUS TIP: You can also add nail accents / colors to match the job’s brand. So for example, I wore the Orange in the last pic for an Orange and Blue brand I applied to once. I kept it from being to loud by just keeping it short. What nail looks are popular for jobs in your area ? Do you work in an industry with unique nail looks?

🌸 hailey bieber sparkly pink look
I’ve noticed Hailey Bieber has a lot of pink and mauve makeup looks. Kind of like Lily Collins with red lips or Megan Fox with black eyeliner. I’m a sucker for soft, sparkling pinks. This look also makes eyes look larger. 🌸 STEPS / TIPS 🌸 As usual, I’m skipping the Base step since that’s different for everyone! Apply bright pink only to the apples of your cheeks + nose. I’m used to applying blush underneath my eyes. I think it makes looks monochromatic, and helps cover under eye circles. Don’t do that for this look! Her blush really pops on her nose and cheeks- and looks almost doll-like. I use the e.l.f. - Beautifully Bare Blush . $3.99, has lasted me 2 years, and lasts all day. Use white eyeliner in lower waterline/lash This will make your eyes look big and doe-like. I used the NYX - Jumbo Eye Pencilin Milk. I don’t like using it as an eye primer. I also think it fades a little on the lash line- But it is very opaque, and comes with a lot of product ($4.50 for 0.18 oz). Use a sheer amount of warm pink base on the eyes. I applied primer, set it with clear powder, and then buffed a liiiitle bit of Soft Core from the COLOURPOP - Ooh La La! palette on the lid and lower lash. This will help your shimmer pop. Apply shimmer- And emphasize the inner eye. Apply a single pink shimmer shadow all over the lid, outer crease, and inner corner. I used the NYX - Love You So Mochi Eyeshadow Palette pale pink as the base. Then, I amped up the sparkles with the shade Tickled from the Colourpop palette. I really like the Mochi palette, and I hope Nyx brings back that formula. It’s like a cushion- when you touch it, it’s like you get a thin film of opaque, sparkly eyeshadow. I would buy it again if I lost it. The only con is it get’s dry/crumbly, but it’s still usable. Minimal to no product on the eyebrows! Just brush them up to look model-y! You could do soap brows to keep them in place. Add pink gloss. I combined the lip crayon LAQA & CO. - Cheeky Lip in Humble Bragwith ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - ANASTASIA Beverly Hills Lip Gloss, a more brown/pink gloss. Then, I used a Smith’s eucalyptus balm as clear gloss. For mascara, go for more volume than length! This is up to personal preference. But her lashes are so thick here, it basically replaced eyeliner. I used the essence - Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara It’s gorgeous and thick- a little clumpy, but I solve that problem by pressing clumps between my fingers. ⭐️ What are your favorite celebrity makeup looks? Rihanna and Emily Ratajkowski probably have my favorite looks.

ALWAYS detangle your curly hair wet!
So when I was a kid, I learned the hard way that you can't brush dry, curly hair. I know it's doable for straight haired-peeps, but curly hair is NOT having it. Even if you NEED to detangle it, but can't shower, it's a good idea to spray it with water. Seriously, little spray bottles of water and conditioner are our friends. My 3A curled hair mom taught me how to brush my hair properly after. I've added my own twists to it, but here's what I do: 🌿 STEPS 🌿 Start with wet hair. As said above! Yes, your hair is more sensitive and elastic wet. But dry brushing disrupts curl patterns. Also, use lukewarm - cold water in the shower! Hot water makes curls more frizzy. Apply generous detangler/conditioner I've found that any conditioner, even non leave-in, can work. If you use leave-in, make sure it's a silicone-free conditioner so it doesn't build up in your hair. My favorite is the SheaMoisture - Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditionerwhich I've reviewed as a great, moisturizing product with rice protein and coconut oil. It has no sulfates or silicones, and has helped make my best hair days. Here, I also tried the Carol's Daughter - Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine Hydrating Conditioner ($10.99 for 12 oz) It has a delicious, warm scent, with nourishing biotin and Vitamin B5. The only con is it has some silicones, so this may be better as a wash-out product in the shower. Start with your fingers, and work from the bottom Basically: little by little. Your fingers can work out the biggest tangles better than a wide tooth comb can. Also, brushing from the top of your head tends to break hair there, causing the dreaded frizz halo. Starting from the bottom means less tugging- And even if there is breakage, it's in a section you can trim. Pick gentle tools. Wide tooth combs work out big knots- Whereas fine tooth ones can get stuck in tangles and tug at more hairs. I use the Wet brush - Original Detangler The bristles are gentle and bendy- So they won't snap through stuck hair. Use it only after you’ve work out the biggest knots. The balls at the end of the bristles can get snagged, so this is best for your final touches. Still, with conditioner, it glides through hair like better- And it gently works through subtle tangles so my curl pattern can form neatly again. Use preventative measures. Put your hair in a ponytail while you do sports. Make sure to wash it every week. Don’t neglect conditioning. And to REALLY amp up your curls after brushing, scrunch them with gel! What brushes do you guys recommend for detangling wet curly hair ?

lily collins 🍷 inspired look
Have you guys seen Emily in Paris? I know its stereotypical, unrealistic, and kindofunfairtothefrench but... It was so entertaining. I binged it in 2 days. I also found Emily’s actress, Lily Collins, super pretty. She looks like Snow White in so many makeup looks, so I tried my hand at once. This is what she wore in the 2017 Oscars. Here’s a few tips for how I did this look! 🍷 TIPS 🍷 Start the liner with pencil. And keep it in the outer corner of your eyes. The pencil should emphasize your upper and lower outer corners to frame the wing. I used my PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Eye Boost Gel Eyeliner Trio Avoid felt-tipped liner. Ironically, that’s what I used here. The L'ORÉAL - Infallible Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner IS great quality and value. Its opaque and hasn’t gone bad with on/off use in 2 years. The finish is sort of shiny, and it glides on easy. Buuuut for this look, go for full paint liquid liner. It’ll make the wing more pronounced, and less likely to fray. The felt tip is great, but the ink can run low for this kind of look. Use white + light eyeshadow to emphasize the space. This helps a LOT. It doesn’t look like it at first, but this look has shadow! I used the URBAN DECAY - UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palettepalette. Take a color that’s your skin color (but shimmery) and apply it all over your eyelid. (I used the shade Bathwater) Put a MINIMAL amount of brown crease shadow at the outer edge (Anaheim). Do a bright inner corner highlight (Blonde) AAAAAND fill in the space between your black liner (Blonde). It might soften the black liner- No worries, pure liquid liner can easily go over it again. Still, using skin-toned / brighter shadow really makes the black pop! Make your lashes biggest at the center. Guys I had to redo my lashes like 10 times. And I trimmed the ends a LOT. It doesn’t even make it across my entire lid, but that’s okay- To match Lilly Collin’s look, center the lashes. Opt for a frayed look like e.l.f. - Natural Lash Kit so it opens your eyes without hiding the liner. I personally like this lash set and glue. The lashes are a little fragile, but they’re comfortable. And I like that the glue is clear- You can’t see all the places I accidentally got it on my eye. 🤡 Pick a lip color with sheen. Her lips aren’t fully matte in this picture. But I like that- they have a pretty glow. I went for a more berry looking color. The NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream in Madrid is just as good as the regular matte lip colors. They’re not drying, and they’re super pigmented. And finally, a subtle blush. I found that peach/ amber goes well with this look. Apply it to the apples of your cheek, and avoid the under eyes. This will make the eye area look more open. I used the BOURJOIS - Little Round Pot Blusher in Rose Amber. A little hard to swatch, but pretty and subtle!

NEW 🚨 Anti-Irritation CBD Lip Balm 🍃
Kosas partnered with a brand called Flora + Bast, which sources pure, unprocessed CBD products for skincare and wellness. Together, they made this lip balm. It gives you a lot of ingredients for the cost, and is great for dry, acne-prone skin. I would recommend it the most for people who do sports, or in Fall/Winter weather. 🌿 INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN 🌿 MAIN : Full Spectrum Cannabis Extract 50 mg Full Spectrum cannabis is the unprocessed version of CBD. It keeps all it’s aspects and nutrients, including THC (but less than 0.03%, so it won’t make you high). Research shows that CBD reduces sebum production and soothes irritation- making it ideal to control acne and redness. Our bodies naturally produce a cannabinoid called anandamide- without it, you have dry, irritated skin. CBD naturally helps replenish that. 50mg is potent for a lip balm. Some balms have 10 mg, so this is definitely not cheating you on ingredients. For other parts of your skin, CBD recommendations can go as high as 350 mg to treat pain. So 50 mg is a good range for the thin, sensitive skin on your lips. Hyalauronic Acid A natural limp plumper that’s naturally derived from sugar- So it’s super unlikely to cause a reaction. We have HA naturally in our connective tissue. It keeps us lubricated, and it can bind ~1000 times its weight in water. What this means for your lips is that it’ll hold onto hydration, making them look plumper. Konjac Root This pairs perfectly with HA. It has glucomannan, which holds ~50 times its weight in water. It’s turns the balm texture into a gel, and is antimicrobial. Together with HA, they have a plumping, anti-wrinkling effect. Extra Ingredients Boy this little balm is packed! Here’s just a few more moisturizers it contains: castor seed oil, jojoba esters , grape seed oil, avocado oil, mango seed butter, rice bran extract, etc. 💕 APPLICATION 💕 My lips are prone to flaking because of harsh acne medication. They also get easily red and irritated. This balm is advertised as creamy and soothing. When I apply it, it goes on thick- but doesn’t look thick. It has a natural-ish finish that leans glossy. It feels perfect for winter because it’s so creamy. And it feels a little minty- Which I found really relaxing. The product didn’t just sit on my lips- After hours, it felt like it had absorbed its moisture. The texture reminds me of theNeutrogena - Lip Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 15 ($2.99 for 0.15 oz). But that product has a much shorter ingredient, with castor oil as its main moisturizer. Kosas product ($20 for 0.17) is priced higher, but it’s worth it for all the extra ingredients you get. If you have sensitive lip concerns, this product is worth checking out. Its slim packaging makes it easy to slip into your bag, and it’ll keep chapping under control.

Curly Girl Method! I've tried these so you don't need to try again!
I've tried several hair products for curly hair, and these are my favorite! Shampoos SheaMoisture - Argan Oil and Almond Milk Shampoo It smells like milk. I love that and the way this made my hair feel. Very smooth and non-greasy after washing. Conditioners SheaMoisture - Superfruit Complex 10 in 1 Renewal System Conditioner Some people don't like its scent, but I personally can accept it. The moisturizing effect is perfect. TRESemmé - Botanique Nourish + Replenish With Coconut Milk & Aloe Vera Conditioner It's affordable and it's so large that you can use it for a long time. Apply it and wait 5-8 minutes, then your hair will be like seaweed. Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler It smells like coconut. I use it as a moisturizer. I have now purchased 3 bottles of this. My hair cannot get enough. It is pricey, but so worth it. It is the best leave in conditioner I have ever tried. The best part about it is it's sans silicones sulfates or waxes. If you're looking for a great detangler that doesn't leave your hair greasy, this is the one for you. Leave-in conditioners SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner It is a little greasy. I brush my hair with this leave in in during the shower and it keeps my hair silky and curls not frizzy Hair masks SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Masque I use it once every two weeks, staying for 15-20 minutes before washing off. After using it, it helps hydrate my hair. It’s very light and doesn’t dry with any residue! It leaves my curls feeling light weight! Curl defining gels DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler I have medium length curly hair and I use about a quarter size for the initial scrunch from ends to root. I touch up around the entire head with another quarter size. Let dry and scrunch to release the cast from the gel. My hair and curls are so happy with this product. It is the holy grail for sure. SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie I use it to apply a little bit to the hair before setting. It makes your hair look a little oily.

Go get a butterfly that makes your nails look different!
The butterflies may be the most beautiful and wonderful animal on our planet. In general, butterflies are especially our girls’ favorite. No matter where they are used, they will all constitute a beautiful and attractive design. Butterfly nail art designs are becoming more and more popular and now they are completed in many creative ways. To catch the trend, I did a butterfly nail art at home all by myself. I choose a light pink polish with a glitter of purple. I think this nail art totally made me a cool girl and it fits any daily occasions. Here are the steps may help u. 1.Clean your nails like a normal manicure process 2.Choose nail polish color and select the color of the butterfly sticker. The contrast should be good. Mine in pic is actually a pendant from my necklace. 3. Apply the base coat. You need it to protect your nails. 4.Apply nail polish of your choice 2 times for a better look. 5.Press the sticker on the nails. If the they are small, just sprinkle them on the nails. 6.Then glue them on the nails with nail glue. 7. Apply a top coat to prevent the stickers from falling off.
Purple Makes Dark Brown Eyes Pop 💜
I used to wear the same eyeshadow colour from the same palette, for any “worthy” occasion... a lot has changed since then, I’m taking interest in experimenting with different shades and palettes. No matter what, I want to make my eyes pop and it turns out purple is a great colour for bringing out brown eyes because they’re contrasting colours. The purple can also make the whites of the eye look brighter, so you may look less tired! I didn’t even know all of this, I just felt intuitively that purple would compliment my eyes and overall look very well. Fortunately my eyes are of relatively normal skin type, no more eczema nor dryness like before, although if I use too much oil, I may experience some milia. Either way, I want to make sure I’m using good formulas on my eyes like the rest of my skin. In this look, I am using ĀETHER BEAUTY - Amethyst Crystal Gemstone Eyeshadow Palette from a brand I can’t stop ordering more palettes from because the formula is just so good! The shadows are made of smoothing organic coconut oil & Shea butter, soothing organic lavender, and illuminating amethyst powder. I seriously need to create a few posts on these palettes and their swatches because they’re incredible! #CheriePartner

5 Min Get-The-Look: Anna May Wong (AAPIHM Reel!)
As AAPI Heritage month nears an end, I wanted to do a quick tribute to the women of color, particularly Asian Americans, who paved the way in entertainment when Hollywood was an even unfriendlier place than it is today. Anna May Wong, born in Los Angeles in 1905 and gaining lead roles by the 1920s, is considered the first Chinese American movie star in Hollywood. After feeling boxed in playing stereotyped roles, Anna May Wong in her own way, found ways to rebel against the norms within her roles and was considered a fashion icon of her time. Hollywood, a new series on Netflix produced by Ryan Murphy, features a modified account of Anna May Wong’s life. Would recommend! (Actress Michelle Kruseic has the iconic thin brows and straight-cut bangs I was unwilling to get for this look lol.) While the platform for Asian Americans in beauty and media has become more accessible, there is much work to be done. With increasing cases of violence that the Asian-American and Asian diasporic communities have experienced globally as a result of Covid-19, it is important to check in with ourselves on how we can speak against these senseless acts. How can we be better as we continue to consume kbeauty, Japanese sunscreens, commercialized yoga, and jade rollers? I am so grateful for how positive this community on Cherie is and here’s to more days of uplifting each other so that skinfluencers of all skin types and beauty conventions get a voice! Love you all 💕. Cheers 🥂
NOT ALL GLASS NAIL FILES ARE GOOD!
Normally, I LOVE glass nail files - I think they’re a must have in your at-home manicure kit because they’re so gentle on natural nails. I broke my Manicare brand glass nail file a while ago, and saw a cheaper replacement at Farmers from a brand called Simply Essential so I thought why not give them a try? Unfortunately, I found their glass files to be really bad compared to what I was used to. ‼️ IT DIDN’T DO ANYTHING ‼️ It literally didn’t even file my nails down! The problem with the SE Glass File was that it was too fine grit to do ANYTHING on my nails. I was sitting there, filing my nails and thinking, wow, this is taking a while to actually take down my nails. That’s because it wasn’t actually DOING anything to take my nails down. Rather, my nails were wearing the GLUED-ON grit on the glass down and creating a really gross glue/burnt hair smell. GROSS. In the photos, you can see the difference between the SE file and the Manicare file. The SE file is clearly some fine grit sandpaper glued onto glass, while the Manicare file is an entire piece of glass - nothing glued on. The bottom line? If you’re in NZ, choose the Manicare glass file over the Simply Essentials one. You’ll have better nails in the long run and won’t have wasted your money!!
