Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 1
Hey y’all! In today’s post I’ll be reviewing my followers skincare routines! I went through some of y’all’s accounts in search of some routines, then messaged everyone to make sure they were okay with me using their routines in this post! This is only pt. 1 because this post got wayyy to long to include everyone at once! Let me start by saying I’m not an esthetician or dermatologist, nor have I ever claimed to be. I am just a fellow skincare lover who knows a lot about ingredients in skincare. We’re starting off with @Chloe_McRae. Sometimes she decides to double cleanse, and when she does she starts with the#Holifrog - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash[products]#[FourStars] which is $42 for 2.5 fl oz. This has a ton of great hydrating oils, as well as Vitamin F, which is great for helping cell turnover. I would say it’s a great first cleanse for those with dry skin. Next she uses theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample which is $32. I would say this is a good cleanser. The cleansing agents are gentle and non stripping, and it also has glycerin which is hydrating, and cantaloupe fruit extract which is a hydrating extract full of antioxidants. Other than that, this is a pretty basic cleanser. Next she uses the HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial l which is $58. Because the name is confusing, it’s a gel face mask. This stuff looks gorgeous and the ingredients are too. Along with AHA and BHA, it has aloe and rose water which help your skin to retain moisture. I don’t think it’s worth $58, but it’s pretty good. Next is the PEACH & LILY - Wild Dew Treatment Essence which is $39 for 3.38 fl oz. This essence has glycerin, Nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid. For $39 I expected a lot more. In general, essence is less effective than a serum, so this seems a little expensive for what you get. Then comes theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Hydrating Spray which is $42. Yes, $42 for a face mist. Now looking at the ingredients this has glycerin and a small amount of Hylaronic acid. The rest of the ingredients are extracts. Thankfully there isn’t fragrance, but this is a no because it’s so expensive. And finally is the COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which is $24. Really this has some Willow water and Nicinamide and that’s it. Okay I freaked out at this point. Nowhere in this routine is sunscreen or moisturizer!!! Nooooo!! We need less acids and more of the basics. Overall I’d say this routine has too many steps. I think you could simplify down to a double cleanse, a cheap but good serum with Hylaronic acid and Nicinamide which seem to be the ingredients that work well for your skin, and the a moisturizer and some spf. Our next routine comes from @WillWorkforMascara. She starts her routine with theCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin w is $17. This product is great for oily skin, which she has. It has glycerin, nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid so it’s super hydrating. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution witch is $8.70. Along with glycolic acid, it has aloe vera water and glycerin. Some people think it’s overly stripping, but for oily skin its great. Now this is where this routine becomes international. She goes in with theMUJI - Boosting Essence Lotion which is $7 for 50 ml. This essence has aloe vera juice and glycerin. It does have quite a bit of fragrance though which makes it a no from me. Next she goes in with the#Pearlessence - Argan Oil + Vitamin E facial oil[products]#[ThreeStars] which is $11.89 for 1.83 fl oz. This product has two ingredients. Vitamin E and Argan oil. Now this is where we really go international. #Human Nature - Sunflower Eye Cream[products]#[TwoStars] and found out that 295 Cuban Peso is $12.29. Now as for the ingredients this eye cream has sunflower oil and glycerin. And fragrance. Fragrance can especially be irritating around the eye area so this is another no. Instead try some thing likeTHE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream She also uses a eyebrow and eyelash oil called Peach Thy Lash which is 150 Cuban Peso or $6.25. I don’t know anything about this kind of product so I can’t really say if it works. And finally is theLANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask which is $22. This mask has Vitamin C, Hylaronic acid, and glycerin. It seems good to me, but this sort of product is more about the experience, and I haven’t tried it. Again! We need moisturizer and sunscreen! This one also has too many steps so let’s simplify it to cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, eyelash oil, and lip mask. Unfortunately this post would be super long if I included everyone, so look out for pt. 2 coming soon! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your holy grail skincare products, and follow me to join the family and for similar content! -Mae

A struggling month
Since my progress post I’d figure I’d show that even those who have promoted they’ve healed their acne that it may and can be just for a moment, a month or a year and things can change in your life that could eventually alter your skin yet again. During the summer my skin was doing real good except the occasional monthly pimples from my period. However these past 2 months I’ve been breaking out along my jawline, chin, mouth and a little on the cheeks. It’s been pretty frustrating because I felt like I was me again and then boom I’m back to feeling insecure. I am currently testing new products to see a difference and changing/adding supplements and vitamins to help and will hope to update in a few months ! All I can say is that I am unemotional about this round of acne... and I think it helps to have a great support system to keep you positive because at the end of the day we are all beautiful no matter what may appear on our faces 😊 New products: COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Helping with my pores and bringing my acne to surface Beauty of Joseon - Calming Serum : Green Tea + Panthenol Soothing my inflammatory acne YEOUTH - Retinol Serum with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera Really excited to finally add a retinol and this one is great- not $$$ and absorbs nicely (won’t see full effects until another 2-3 weeks) Apart from that my routine has stayed the same and the rest of my face is pretty clear!

UPDATE: I Quit Differin
This is a long overdue skincare update but I have quit Differin because it started to strip my skin barrier, and I kept breaking out even after applying the gel. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -I’m about to run out of this cleanser and I’m thinking about replacing it with a more moisturizing cleanser from the same brand. This cleanser is excellent but I wish it was a bit more effective PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator -This has been a little too gentle on my skin so I wasn’t able to experience a huge difference after using this product The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA -This serum is gentle on my skin and I have noticed an improvement in my skin’s tone VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream -I came back to this moisturizer to give it a second chance and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is better for people with very oily skin and I have combination skin PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ -This product is a chef’s kiss. It is gentle, hydrating, and very effective at protecting your skin from the sun I am still breaking out but I’m not sure which route to take. I’ve been exfoliating quite a lot and I’m thinking about going the other path and restoring the hell out of my skin. Any recommendations to restore my skin’s barrier and to increase collagen as well as clearing out my pimples and acne scars would be much appreciated!

Shelfie 💕💕
I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products. Favourite brands: Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and it’s cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. My holy grails are COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and #Cosrx - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule[products]#[FiveStars] Brands with 1-2 favourite products: First aid beauty: this brand focuses on healing the skin with the incorporation of oats which are amazing. My holy grail is Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser Paula’s Choice: this is a great brand that is science driven (cruelty free). My holy grail isPAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Pyunkang Yul: this is a K-beauty brand that started in a medical clinic and focus on short ingredient lists. My holy grail isPyunkang Yul - Essence Toner Pixi: this is an English brand that has lots of products and lines to target different issues (cruelty free). My holy grail is pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist The body shop: the body shop is a very established brand that has tons of products (cruelty free), I love their masks in particular. My holy grail isTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask Niod: this brand has the same parent company as the ordinary but it is the more expensive and technologically advanced. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides

Every Wednesday Routine
I have a certain routine I do every Wednesday. Wednesday is the day I exfoliate, clay mask, sheet mask and scrub and deep clean my skin. 1st Step: fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo #Tadaam - Cleansing Brush[products]#[FiveStars] I cleanse with my soy cleanser using a cleansing brush. This brush is VERY soft but effective. I use the 60 sec rule and gently scrub. 2nd step: Kiehl's - Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque I use this clay mask once a week to give my pores the deep cleaning they need. I leave it one until mask is hard. I rinse off with a warm cloth (gently). 3rd Step: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I use this exfoliating toner once a week because it can be a little strong for my skin. This helps give my skin the extra dose of deep cleaning and removal of dead skin. 4th Step: #Simple - Water Boost Hydrating Sheet Mask[products]#[FiveStars] I sheet mask after all of the stress I put my skin through from the other steps. I try to use a Hydrating sheet mask but if not, I will use a any sheet mask that will replenish my skin. 5th Step: IOPE - Limited Edition Rentinol Expert Essence 0.1% I use a rentinol serum or essence usually this one to help with firmness and wrinkles. 6th & final step: I use a sleeping mask LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask To sooth my skin and lock in moisture. It gives my skin the final dose of hydration. Is it effective? I have eczema/sensitive skin and I've tried a lot routines to help get and keep my skin healthy. This routine really gives my skin what it needs. The next day my skin very hydrated, smooth and glowing. It feels amazing and looks so healthy and clean. I've been using this routine once a week for 4 months now and it never fails. Do you have a certain routine at times or days? #whoisnee #cheriecreator #skincareroutine

IOPE Love
Have you tried IOPE products? 🦋 I have really been enjoying these. IOPE - Stem III Ampoule • An intense anti-aging ampoule that revives firmness, skin texture, and gloss by putting Allanto Complex, an aging care ingredient. • Main Ingredients: Purified water, glycerin, butylene glycol, ethanol, sorbitol, niacinamide 👇🏼🦋 This Ampoule works wonders. I was a little worried using this because of my ezcema but surprisingly, no issues. This has helped calm irritation while reviving dull and tired skin. The texture is a watery texture but it's effective. 🦋 IOPE - Limited Edition Rentinol Expert Essence 0.1% • An anti-aging wrinkle serum that offers a definite wrinkle care effect of the high-content retinol ingredient. • This potent treatment features 0.1% pure retinol enhanced with the latest stabilization technology to ensure effective release and delivery to skin, and is formulated with peptides and panthenol for moisture barrier improvement. 🦋👇🏼 This is one of those products that you use on certain areas that need a little extra TLC. I use this around my eyes, mouth, nose and forehead. It helps your skin with smoothness and also gives Hydration. It has a slight scent that goes away after a few seconds. You only use this at night per the directions. This is definitely a must have for wrinkles treatment. 🦋 IOPE - Derma Repair Cica Cream • Intensive skin improvement cream that contains effective ingredients that treat rough and damaged skin, such as madecassoside, panthenol, and cypress tree extracts. • Contains 3 effective ingredients for concentrated sensitive skin improvements. • The concentrated cream gently envelops sensitive skin, while effective ingredients such as madecassoside, panthenol, and cypress tree extracts help soothe the skin, improve damage from dryness, and strengthen the skin’s barrier as necessary for sensitive skin 🦋👇🏼 This is my favorite. This cream is perfect for sensitive skin. The texture is so creamy, soft, smooth and hydrating. Less is more because the texture is a bit thick but if you want a nice hydration mask, this is the perfect product. It calms irritation, and gives your skin the repair it needs. If you have sensitive skin, you need this cream. 🦋 This brand really puts their all into products. They specialize in doing research and getting the most accurate information. The breakdown of the products is amazing. You can find out all of the products information on their site including research studies and actual photos. I really enjoy this brand and looking to try more products. Let me know your thoughts!

Honestly, I Wasted $280 On Eye Products👎👎👎
I have dry skin. Anti-aging is important to me. I have wrinkles under my eyes. I bought two eye care products. They are very expensive, so I expected them to be good. However, here is what happened.  CHANTECAILLE - Stress Repair Concentrate+ Eye Cream I've always loved using Chantecaille anti-aging skincare products and I've used a lot of their masks and facial creams. However, no matter how much a brand is raved about, there will be products from the brand that are bombs. In this case, it is their Stress Repair Concentrate+. This eye cream is really greasy and not moisturizing, leaving an oily shine on the skin around my eyes. It even balled up when I first applied it, so as a luxurious eye cream, it gets an 'F' for the user experience it offers. It doesn't offer results as obvious as the same series facial cream. Since it can't be easily absorbed, it's not really moisturizing and I felt that there was nothing special about it even after finishing the whole bottle. There are many more eye creams in the same price range which offer better results and user experience. VERSO - Skincare Super Eye Serum The second bomb for me is Verso's No. 5 Super Eye Serum, the main ingredient of which is Retinol 8. 30ml is more than enough for an eye serum, but unfortunately, I didn't finish using it. It has a lotion texture, is easily absorbed, and can be used as a serum primer, but it's really brutal on the skin. It literally burned the skin around my eyes when first applied, and even after switching to using it once every two days for one month, it still irritated a lot. I decided to give it up and announce that I'm just 8 times retinol intolerant. What eye cream or eye serum do you use? Help me find some good anti-aging eye products!❤❤

It’s silky smooth, extremely hydrating and non-sticky. I love everything about it - the packaging, the scent and texture, and the radiance it gives my skin. ✨FILORGA - Time-Filler Absolute Wrinkle Correction Cream is an absolute joy to use. It’s thick and creamy, and glides beautifully on the skin. It gives my skin a soft and smooth finish, leaving it nourished and glowing. I love this cream and the scent is so elegant. BOUJEE ON A BUDGET BODY LOTION 💚
Found Flamingo’s body care line at Target a few months ago and fell in love with this moisturizer!! It smells so good and the scent is not over powering like other brands with scented moisturizers. The value size costs $10 for 15oz and the regular 10oz costs $8! This lotion is very moisturizing but if you want even more moisture they also have a deep nourishing cream (also same scent) which is $10 for $10oz! 🌿 Overall: 1000/10 Con: squeeze tube bottle does look a little beat up after using it because it creases.

December challenge PT 2
I decided to split the list up, so here's days 17-20: Day 17 - body product: I'm honestly tied between the flamingo - flamingo Daily Moisturizing Lotion and Aveeno - Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream , since they've both helped my dry skin so much! Day 18 - device/tool: I've been obsessed with my SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Roller because it cools down my skin well and now I have to use it every night. Day 19 - most used brand: my most used brand is probably Glossier, because I use their eye products and skincare products all the time (boy brow, brow flick, lash slick; solution, priming moisturizer rich, super pure, balm dotcom) - though I use lots of products from other brands too. I just don't use many products from a single brand, but I have a lot of Glossier products that I use regularly Day 20 - top product of 2020: I know I posted another thing with my top product of 2020, but it's really a tie. The other product is NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer bc it's stepped up my makeup game and it's made a huge difference in covering my undereye circles.

elf Hydrating Water Essence on
elf Hydrating Water Essence on damp skin just helps plump me out 💦also acting as a buffer here for my Retirides Cream (Spanish Tretinoin) before that though I always do my kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Cream which helps create a barrier so the Tret doesn’t get in my eyes! 🙈 I’m trying something different here by using my cosrx PHA Moisture Renewal Power Cream over the top... tret and acids shouldn’t really be used together but PHAs are so gentle with zero irritation so will hopefully work perfectly together 🤞🏻 then some indeedlabs 10 balm on the bits that get really dry.

Been loving these re:p Organic
Been loving these re:p Organic Cotton Treatment Toning Pads from NeoGen that I got in the sokoglam gym bag. 😊 I love using a presoaked pad for toning because they’re easy and efficient. I’m especially a fan of this one because it provides light, physical exfoliation on one side. 👍🏾 They’re designed to rebalance pH and remove impurities. There are 2 pads per pack, to be used once in the morning & again at night. 🙌🏾 Plus, these are perfect for travel so I’ll take a pack with me when my boyfriend & I go on our anniversary trip next week. ☀️ Thank goodness the week is already half over! We’re that much closer to Friday. 👏🏾

Time to talk about this gorgeo
Time to talk about this gorgeous toner from Red Earth! ♥️ I have been using Hydrate boosting toner with Tasmanian Sea Kelp everyday. Not because, I wanted to see how it is but because I loved it ✨ It’s real hydrating and I still love the way it smells. I will be purchasing this once I run out! So thank you redearth beauty for introducing a great toner for my routine! Whats in it? Giant Brown Algea/Tasmanian Sea Kelp which has lots of natural vitamin C in it. Algae has age-defying properties which can help with wrinkles as well plus its a natural detoxifier. Ginkgo on the other hand will help to increase skins moisture-retention and hydration. One of my favorite ingredients in any product is cucumber and this has it! Its soothing, calming and perfect for irritation. To apply it, you just need to add a few drops on a cotton pad and apply to your face and thats all!

I’m from rice toner
I’m from rice toner
This is a hydrating toner consisting primarily of rice water, which is meant to brighten your complexion. I don’t think I’ve noticed this result from using this product, although maybe it is subtle. I use this as the second step in my routine and usually add a few layers depending on what my skin needs. The texture of this product is a milky liquid, which feels slightly thick and almost oily on the face. I recommend giving it a try but don’t think I will personally repurchase!

Another piece from the Mamonde
Another piece from the Mamonde set that I recently purchased! Their Hydrating Beauty Water seemed perfect. 💕 This is a close to full-size product and the rose smell is delightful. I’ve been using it most mornings as a toner. So far, it has been hydrating my skin very well. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky, which I appreciate. 💯 Infused with damask rose, this product is meant to soothe & nourish as well as hydrate. In my opinion, I would say my skin feels better when I use this in my morning routine. 🌹

Review time! Over the last mon
Review time! Over the last month, I've been trying a few products by Votre Vu, a French skincare brand that focuses on fusing plant-based ingredients and antioxidants, and so far I'm a fan! Granted, a month isn't a long time in terms of product testing, so these are somewhere in between first impressions and final conclusions, but as of now my skin has responded well. One important note is that there is fragrance in these products, which doesn't bother my skin (the scent itself is quite lovely), but since it's a known irritant for many, I thought it should be mentioned. Onto the products: ▪️ best regards white lily cleanser: a hydrating milk cleanser. it doesn't strip the skin of any moisture thanks to ingredients like castor oil, Madonna Lily extract and vitamin e. I haven't tested its makeup removing abilities, as I prefer to double cleanse or use micellar water for that, but my skin feels clean after using it so I'm happy! ▪️ best regards white lily toner: aside from the mist applicator (not a fan for any toner), I've found this to do exactly what I want for a toner- balance the skin's pH level while also providing hydration. It contains sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid that's especially effective in drawing in moisture, and is alcohol free. I just spray it on a cotton round and gently swipe it across my skin, wait two minutes, then repeat (not an instruction, just my preference). ▪️ les sorbet: so this serum is going to get its own post to fully explain how it works, but essentially you pour it into the plastic tube included and FREEZE IT. So cool (literally), and super refreshing. ▪️ tragic magic rescue cream: I may not have sensitive skin, but external factors like weather, dehydration, and stress often leave it in need of soothing.
