Halloween Glam Look 2020
Halloween looked a bit different this year, but that doesn’t mean costumes and makeup went out the window! This year I decided to try a glam look—with a little twist. Plus, it gave me an excuse to try some brand new products in my collection that I can’t wait to tell you about. Let’s start with the foundation of my look, brought to you by BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation

TikTok Hack Tested 🖤 Flawless Base
Everyone has seen the beauty hacks on tiktok but one I kept seeing over and over again was a ‘how to create a flawless base’. It said all you needed was a powder, primer, and foundation. I have oily skin and my make up tends to slide off easily so I decided to test out if it works. In the TikTok the girl said you needed to go through your normal skincare routine and after your moisturizer instead of going in with your primer you first dust a light layer of powder over the skin. Then you’re supposed to go in with the primer. After that you apply your foundation like normal and it is supposed to give you a flawless base.I went in initially with my URBAN DECAY - The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-in Medium . This is my FAVORITE powder. You can either use it to set the face or mix in with your foundation so I figured it was the best choice. It always leaves my face feeling velvet soft.I then went in with my URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Face Primer which is more of a creamy consistency. Normally this smooths all over the face but there was a little bit more of a tug with the powder base which was odd. I wasn’t a fan of the feeling but when I wasn’t spreading it around it felt fine. Finally, I went in with my trusty ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation . This is a full coverage, matte foundation. It’s my favorite foundation in my collection and I chose this because I know how it wears. I was surprised that the foundation smoothed over the base I created. I feel like it gave it a little more coverage because it stuck to the powder. I usually go in with two layers in some spots and I found myself only needing one layer. It looked pretty good! My only issue is some spots where I went in with extra powder the foundation clung a little too much so I could see spots so I would be very light handed with the powder. I’m actually really happy with this hack and it will be something I will experiment more with in the future. A problem area on my face is my nose because foundation never wants to create an even layer there and my nose looks flawless. The only thing I would change (besides using less powder) is not powdering under my eyes. I did this and the concealer didn’t want to blend out there and it creased more than it usually does. Other than that I think it’s worth checking out only if you have oily skin.
So I use the urban decay all nighter primer 1st for my makeup to last all day Then I use the veil from hourglass to smooth over because my skin is very oily. Both are great!! My makeup last all day and night. Especially with my beauty bakerie foundation.

A Makeup Artist’s Fav Base Products! No caking🙌
Disclaimer: I’ve done a lot of makeup! From my own personal makeup for photo shoots and events in all weather (this was for college grad portraits), to full faces of all types for my friends and family, I’ve used hundreds of products on all types of people. These are some of my top fav products for face, regardless of skin type. DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation this foundation layers super well with every primer you pair it with. They have an extensive shade range, and because it’s made for modeling it’s super lightweight and has an amazing buildable coverage that starts off as medium. It’s not drying and keeps skin looking hydrated and dewy without budging or migrating around. I love that it’s also formulated to be heavy duty enough for body wear, but feels like a BB cream. YVES SAINT LAURENT - Touche Eclat High Cover Radiant Undereye Concealer Pen This super creamy under eye concealer never creases on me! I have hereditary dark circles that not even shape tape covers up, so I’m looking less to totally cover up and more to brighten. This does a fabulous job of reflecting light and making my under eyes seem less hollow, which means less shadows and darkness. It’s super easy to blend, works well with all of my face products, and even looks great just by itself for no-makeup makeup days. DIOR - Backstage Face & Body Glow This liquid highlight is a must have for more professional looking makeup! It’s not chunky, glittery, or fake looking. It gives a really gorgeous lit from within look that plays well with a full face of foundation without looking harsh for daytime makeup. Blends and sets super well. Love using it on shoulders and collar bones too! benefit - Dandelion Brightening Powder Blush This blush is such a universally flattering shade, and while I usually gravitate to cream blushes, this gives a gorgeous brightening blush effect without looking dry or powdery. The formula is silky and smooth and looks glowing and healthy on skin for a natural flush. benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder Similarly, hoola bronzer is a must have. Matte, but it doesn’t cling to dry spots or patches. I’ve been using this since high school and will always repurchase. It always looks great on my skin, doesn’t lean orange. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mist & Fix Hydrating Setting Spray it’s like a big sister to URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray but not as drying. While all nighter makes me feel like I can’t move my face, this sets but feels like nothing. No powder needed! Do you want a part two to this featuring my top go-to eye products? I’m wearing them in this photo too! Let me know 😍

Flawless Skin #NoFilter
Step 1: The Alpyn Beauty Survival Serum is not just a serum, it doubles as a primer with a sick holographic glow. I use this alone when I don’t wear makeup, as one of the benefits is to brighten the skin. When I wear this under makeup, that’s when the game changes 😩 it gives my skin an unbelievable dewyness! I refuse to use any other primer and it’s replaced my previous HG Too Faced Hangover primer. At $68, isn’t the most cost effective serum/primer but I do think it’s worth the splurge. Step 2: The Becca Cosmetics 24 Hr Foundation gives me the most natural looking face ever. When the brand marketed this as Ultimate Coverage, they meant it! This product covers up my dark marks & held up beautifully in the heat when I went to Mexico! The Pur Selfie Foundation is wonderful, but I found it overwhelming that there were 100 shades available to choose from. Additionally, it’s not available in stores which makes the shade match process even more challenging. Nonetheless, this has a gorgeous matte finish and also covers up my dark marks so I don’t need a correcting concealer! Step 3: Becca Cosmetics Aqua Luminous Concealer is by far my favorite. It gives a ridiculous glow to my under eye area & honestly just brings my whole look together. At $32, this concealer is worth the price but I would prefer to buy it if it were on sale since there are several other concealers in the market that cost less. * Each one of these products has the smoothest, lightest consistencies! I hate FEELING like I have products on my face, and these give me an incredible skin like finish. The foundations have fabulous shade ranges that match the lightest to darkest of complexions, and I’m thankful these brands did not ignore POC!
Saved My Oily Face
I’ve always struggle with oily face, mainly around the t-zone. I’ve tried many, many different primera and foundations and my face was oily within 2 hours of applying my make up. I’ve tried the Too Faced line and wow! I mix the primer with three drops of The Ordinary Niacinamide first, I dump my Real Technique blender and I apply the foundation. Lastly, I apply the setting powder with the same dumped blender. This make up line helps my face stay hydrated without getting oily. Too Faced - Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge Too Faced - Hangover Primer The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Too Faced - Peach Perfect Setting Powder ***bonus - I subscribed to the Too Faced email list and I get discounts promotions often. So I buy my products with them at discounted price instead of paying full time at Ulta or Sephora 😉
My go-to makeup products
I don’t usually do my makeup, but when I do there are some products I never go without. I love a dewy, sun kissed finish, so I always start with a hydrating primer and end with a creamy blush. Here are some of my favorite products to get my favorite makeup looks! Too Faced - Hangover Primer has been my go-to primer for a couple years now. I love how smooth it makes my skin look and it always seems to downplay any dryness I might have. Even if I’ve been slacking on skincare, this stuff makes my skin and makeup look awesome! benefit - Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer is for sure my favorite concealer, hands down. I’ve tried a few others recently, trying lighter colors for under my eyes, and everything else cakes and rubs off so easily, so I just end up going back to my tried and true. I love her and will repurchase until the end of time. A more recent development has been my love of cream blushes. I’ve started buying them whenever I can get my hands on them and so far some of my faves are WANDER BEAUTY - Double Date Lip and Cheek Tint , BEAUTANIQ BEAUTY - Butter Lip & Cheek Balm , and Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek . The ones I have are a nice range of colors from orangey to pink to rose. I like to put a little on the bridge of my nose to make it look like I spent a little too long in the sun the day before. I usually put a cream blush on the apples of my cheeks and my nose and blend it out with a similar powder blush toward my hairline and around my forehead. And that’s my usual makeup look! I usually go pretty lowkey with the eyes, just some highlighter in the inner corner and maybe some mascara. Stay tuned for photo evidence the next time I put makeup on! <3

Becca Cosmetics Foundation: $58.00 for full coverage Maybelline Foundation: $17.49 for full coverage Similarities : both full coverage when applied generously dewy foundation doesn’t dry matte and make You look wrinkled and crusty long wear. Easily able to achieve 9 hour looks without them slipping Differences: maybelline has hydraulic acid and collagen which gives your face a more plumped appearance reducing the appearance of wrinkles maybelline is literally less than half the cost!!!! What upset me about Becca: the pump does not work to save her life, I have to pump her like 20 times to get the desired effect. Super annoying What upset me about maybelline: it’s not 100% cruelty free. They claim not to test on animals or use animal byproduct ingredients but the loop is if the countries rule for safety or regulatory standards is the product is to be tested on animals than they adhere to that. The take away. If you don’t want to spend almost $60 on a foundation the maybelline is a perfect dupe!

Lately I’ve been having a lot of fun with makeup and seeing what I can do with what I got. Cow eyeliner look🐄: 1. Take some white eyeliner and draw a regular wing. 2. 2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
For those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere, Summer is just around the corner, and things are already heating up, and it’s not just the weather, honey! In the next few months, half the world will be heading into springtime, and that brings fresh fashion, bright colours, and fierce makeup with it. Here’s how you can create a quick, easy, “sweet treats” themed makeup look to match your shining summertime personality. Complexion Work: For my base makeup, I used REVOLUTION - Fast Base Stick Foundation in shade F3. I concealed with the help of REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in shade C1. I contoured my cheeks using Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, in shade light/medium. I then applied a soft layer of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Leena. I also used NYX - Strobe of Genius Holographic Stick in “Mermaid Amour” for an iridescent shine. Colourful Sweet Treats Eye Makeup: Moving on to the eyes, I used theMORPHE - The James Charles Palette for the whole look. I started off by packing on “Pinkity Drinkity” onto the inner half of my eyelid and crease. I then took a light dab of “Skip”, then more Pinkity Drinkity on the same brush to deepen the shade slightly and make it more of a soft but vibrant pink. For darker skin tones, you may want to use more Skip to create a brighter colour. Next up is shade “518”, which I took on a small blending brush and packed onto the outer corner of my eyelid, sweeping inward diagonally toward my lash line. Similarly, I pulled that orange shade outwards towards the tail of my brow, and softly blended it into my pink shadows. I also pulled some of 518 onto the outer third of my lower lash line. To complete the lower lash line, I used shade “Bee” to bring some lightness and brightness to the inner portion of my eye, blending it into 518 along the way. For a final pop of summery colour, I packed shade “Hello” onto a small pencil brush, and spritzed it with a setting spray, before packing it onto the inner corner of my eye. The super shiny effect of the shadow and its lustrous, tropical colour really added a fun and fabulous edge to the themed look. I finished the eyes off with a little black eyeshadow on the outer half of my upper lash line, and some MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara on my lashes, and there you have it! A quick, easy summer makeup look for all levels of makeup lovers. Would you like to see some “how to guides” for more wearable, colourful looks? Comment what colours you’d like to learn how to wear during the daytime!
