TikTok Hack Tested 🖤 Flawless Base
Everyone has seen the beauty hacks on tiktok but one I kept seeing over and over again was a ‘how to create a flawless base’. It said all you needed was a powder, primer, and foundation. I have oily skin and my make up tends to slide off easily so I decided to test out if it works. In the TikTok the girl said you needed to go through your normal skincare routine and after your moisturizer instead of going in with your primer you first dust a light layer of powder over the skin. Then you’re supposed to go in with the primer. After that you apply your foundation like normal and it is supposed to give you a flawless base.I went in initially with my URBAN DECAY - The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-in Medium . This is my FAVORITE powder. You can either use it to set the face or mix in with your foundation so I figured it was the best choice. It always leaves my face feeling velvet soft.I then went in with my URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Face Primer which is more of a creamy consistency. Normally this smooths all over the face but there was a little bit more of a tug with the powder base which was odd. I wasn’t a fan of the feeling but when I wasn’t spreading it around it felt fine. Finally, I went in with my trusty ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation . This is a full coverage, matte foundation. It’s my favorite foundation in my collection and I chose this because I know how it wears. I was surprised that the foundation smoothed over the base I created. I feel like it gave it a little more coverage because it stuck to the powder. I usually go in with two layers in some spots and I found myself only needing one layer. It looked pretty good! My only issue is some spots where I went in with extra powder the foundation clung a little too much so I could see spots so I would be very light handed with the powder. I’m actually really happy with this hack and it will be something I will experiment more with in the future. A problem area on my face is my nose because foundation never wants to create an even layer there and my nose looks flawless. The only thing I would change (besides using less powder) is not powdering under my eyes. I did this and the concealer didn’t want to blend out there and it creased more than it usually does. Other than that I think it’s worth checking out only if you have oily skin.

Favorite Primer
So I use the urban decay all nighter primer 1st for my makeup to last all day
Then I use the veil from hourglass to smooth over because my skin is very oily.
Both are great!!
My makeup last all day and night.
Especially with my beauty bakerie foundation.

Mini ulta haul with product tryouts!
I had a few Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to get a few new items to try out.
The first item I’ve been dying to try is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype/price tag. I like this product, but I’d like to use it a few more times. I’m going to do another post next month comparing several different setting sprays to see how the compare.
The next item I used is the MILANI - Cheek Kiss Blush in shade cheeky coral. I like the shade and it wears nicely. But I did have to layer it to get the color payoff I was looking for.
I also got another cult favorite, PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer I absolutely love this product. I love the texture, the smell, the finish. It’s all great, absolutely worth the price.
And the last is another eye shadow pallet from profusion! #Profusion Cosmetics - Starlet palette[products]#[FourStars] I love this palette, although the shimmer shades need a wet brush to be impactful.
What other make up productions would you like to try out?

Too Faced, Skincare On Canadian Site
Both amazing finds, still in stock that are on sale. I have both, I honestly suggest both. But if I had to pick, I'd choose primer. Although I can honestly say I do love them both. You get two freebies with each other. These were found on the .CA site

Saved My Oily Face
I’ve always struggle with oily face, mainly around the t-zone. I’ve tried many, many different primera and foundations and my face was oily within 2 hours of applying my make up.
I’ve tried the Too Faced line and wow! I mix the primer with three drops of The Ordinary Niacinamide first, I dump my Real Technique blender and I apply the foundation. Lastly, I apply the setting powder with the same dumped blender. This make up line helps my face stay hydrated without getting oily. Too Faced - Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge Too Faced - Hangover Primer The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Too Faced - Peach Perfect Setting Powder
***bonus - I subscribed to the Too Faced email list and I get discounts promotions often. So I buy my products with them at discounted price instead of paying full time at Ulta or Sephora 😉

Another Marshall’s Haul
Before the snow hit in the north east, I had to hit up Marshall’s so I had some new products to play with. This shopping trip I found makeup products from Becca and Milk to try out. As with any trip to Marshall’s it’s hit or miss with products and shade ranges, so I know this foundation is a bit too light, but the undertone was right. There were also a few other things I wanted, but their packaging was open and the products were clearly touched.
So let’s dive in to what I used for this look (3rd pic, I don’t use any filters/beauty mode).
Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick I like the powdery finish it leaves on my skin. I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide how much I like it.
BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation I’m generally not a fan of full coverage foundation. But this does not feel heavy or caking on my skin (yes, it’s a shade too light). I applied it pretty lightly, but you can easily build this up to you preferred coverage level.
BECCA - Limited Edition Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder I was pleasantly surprised by this powder. I usually only use powder lightly under my eyes o set my concealer, but this was so light that I used it all over my face. It did not settle into my fine lines or make me look dry (aging skin). I applied with a velour puff and used a fluffy brush to remove the excess.
Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek I’m a big fan of cream products and the fact that this does double duty, lips and cheeks, makes it a winner in my book.
Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara I’ve been dying to try this mascara (if you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know I’m on an unending hunt for the perfect mascara). But I couldn’t justify the price tag if it was just going to end up in the “meh” pile of mascaras I already have. It gave a great first impression, but I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide to invest in a full sized tube.
For under $40, I got to try some high end products that are usually out of my budget. I love Marshall’s for exactly this reason!
What is your favorite Marshall’s find?

2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
For those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere, Summer is just around the corner, and things are already heating up, and it’s not just the weather, honey!
In the next few months, half the world will be heading into springtime, and that brings fresh fashion, bright colours, and fierce makeup with it.
Here’s how you can create a quick, easy, “sweet treats” themed makeup look to match your shining summertime personality.
Complexion Work:
For my base makeup, I used REVOLUTION - Fast Base Stick Foundation in shade F3.
I concealed with the help of REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in shade C1.
I contoured my cheeks using Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, in shade light/medium.
I then applied a soft layer of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Leena.
I also used NYX - Strobe of Genius Holographic Stick in “Mermaid Amour” for an iridescent shine.
Colourful Sweet Treats Eye Makeup:
Moving on to the eyes, I used theMORPHE - The James Charles Palette for the whole look. I started off by packing on “Pinkity Drinkity” onto the inner half of my eyelid and crease. I then took a light dab of “Skip”, then more Pinkity Drinkity on the same brush to deepen the shade slightly and make it more of a soft but vibrant pink. For darker skin tones, you may want to use more Skip to create a brighter colour.
Next up is shade “518”, which I took on a small blending brush and packed onto the outer corner of my eyelid, sweeping inward diagonally toward my lash line. Similarly, I pulled that orange shade outwards towards the tail of my brow, and softly blended it into my pink shadows. I also pulled some of 518 onto the outer third of my lower lash line.
To complete the lower lash line, I used shade “Bee” to bring some lightness and brightness to the inner portion of my eye, blending it into 518 along the way.
For a final pop of summery colour, I packed shade “Hello” onto a small pencil brush, and spritzed it with a setting spray, before packing it onto the inner corner of my eye. The super shiny effect of the shadow and its lustrous, tropical colour really added a fun and fabulous edge to the themed look.
I finished the eyes off with a little black eyeshadow on the outer half of my upper lash line, and some MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara on my lashes, and there you have it! A quick, easy summer makeup look for all levels of makeup lovers.
