Sunday = NFL Makeup!
InkedMel
Another Sunday, another Bengals tie (which may as well be a loss), and another NFL inspired makeup look. Y’all seemed to enjoy the last look, so I’m here to share again!
I’m a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan, so I had two colors to play with today: orange and black!

Too Faced BTW line is a CLASSIC!
I always get the most flawless yet, believeable finish with my TF Born This Way Mayte foundation. It’s medium-buildable coverage and still gives a really natural finish. I’m very pleased with it.

I Wanted To Love It
This mascara has been making the rounds on TikTok so that last time I was in Ulta I picked it up. As far as mascara goes I do have really high expectations and Lancôme is honestly a benchmark for me. If a mascara isn’t comparable to LANCÔME - Monsieur Big Mascaraor LANCÔME - Hypnôse Volume-à-porter MascaraI just can’t make time for it. I want volume and I want length from my mascara and I don’t want it to be fussy. I want it quick and easy to apply and I want dramatic lashes in return.
That being said I felt this mascara was very “meh”. It was okay, but I don’t see why it’s getting so much hype other than it being $5. It felt like just another drugstore mascara. It was also very wet as in you can very easily get mascara everywhere. Also I found I had to go over and over my lashes to get them separated and coated satisfactorily for me. I was expecting more volume from this product even if it did lengthen okay.
I don’t have much flaking at all with this mascara, I do have to say, even without a setting spray. Previously I had used the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Lash Brag Volumizing Mascaraand it flaked something terrible; so that was a plus. The formula also didn’t irritate my eyes so that was another plus for this product.
I thought this mascara was fine. For me it wasn’t much to write home about, but it did an okay job. I don’t hate it, I’m just not compelled to buy it again. I haven’t used this with a lash primer (maybe I’d get more volume using one) I may pick one up to try it, but it’s another step and I’m lazy.
For $5, though, it’s a fantastic bargain and is definitely way more affordable than my permanent favorites for sure. It’s a great inexpensive option, but just don’t expect it to outdo some cult favorites like Lancôme.

Days 2 & 3 of Beauty ⭐️
To make up for being behind a day with my Macy’s 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar, I’m reviewing days 2 and 3 today! Yay!
After a disappointing first day, the second and third have made up for it! Inside were Lancôme’s Monsieur Big Mascara and Lavido’s Age Away Hydrating Cream.
First off, the mascara is FANTASTIC. It lengthens, curls and volumizes. I’ve wanted to try it for awhile, but the price tag kept me from it. This sample has opened my eyes though and I might just have to buy the full size! Swipe through for pics of it on me.
Second, the hydrating cream is also really nice. I’ve actually had the full size in the past and I’ve found it to be very hydrating, very nice to wear and it also smells beautifully! The cream has ingredients like evening primrose, pumpkin seed and sea buckthorn to help hydrate, improve skin tone and reduce fine lines. I’m a fan!
Have you gotten any makeup/skincare-related advent calendars? There are so many out there, I’d love to hear about some good ones!

🌴Retro Paradise 🌴
e.l.f. - Retro Paradise Eyeshadow Palette
Bought this palette awhile ago and never really used it idkw. It’s actually not that bad it has a bunch of cool colors and it’s not super pigmented but it goes on well. There’s 18 pans 11 matte and 7 shimmer metallic colors. Some of the colors you need to build up a lot more then others like Tropicana it’s a pastel purple a very pretty color but I need to pack on a lot to get the color I want. In this look I used Cacao,Nightlife,Sea Salt,Tropicana,Fuego. There wasn’t really too much fall out but I noticed Sea Salt had fallen out more so with sparkles all over my cheeks. As for the darker colors I really couldn’t tell too much cuz I used tape, so anything that did fall fell on the tape. The colors blended well and they are all just super cool colors. I really like E.L.F products in general cuz they are affordable and made well.

It’s Been a Minute...
Hey Y’all! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted. I got a little stale on content since I’m trying to play teacher on top of everything else—so I figured I’d jump back in today with a fun look.
I’m a football fanatic, a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan, and a Chicago Bears fan (married into that). So, I decided I would mesh my two passions this season and do some NFL Glam on game days! Yesterday’s look was inspired by the Bears. Read on to see what products I used to get this look.
Too Faced - Hangover Replenishing Face Primer My skin was screaming yesterday, but I was determined to do this look—sensitive skin be damned! When it comes to primer, my Too Faced Hangover primer saves the day when I’ve dropped the skincare ball. It took down my redness, injected some glow, and made the rest of my look doable. (Spoiler: I have a primer post coming soon!)
Too Faced - Born This Way Matte Foundation When it comes to glam looks, I always reach for my Born This Way foundation. I’ve been a huge fan of the newer matte formula, and it was the perfect base for this look. (Shade: Snow)
Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer Y’all already know this is my absolute favorite full-coverage concealer. I used it to conceal and highlight with this look. (Shade: Snow) Check our my full-coverage concealer post for more details on this formula.
e.l.f. - Retro Paradise Eyeshadow Palette The oranges in my eyeshadow look are from the e.l.f. Retro Paradise eyeshadow pallet. I love the formula, and the colors are super pigmented. Pro Tip: tap that extra product off and go in with a light hand if you’re not used to working with heavy pigments. (Shades: Fuego, Caliente) Beware of fallout!
e.l.f. - 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette My transition shade and blues are from the e.l.f. 18 Hit Wonders palette. Same formula as Retro Paradise, so tap and watch for fallout. Transition shade: Peachy. Blue accent: Royal. Brow highlight/inner corners: Vibrant. (I LIVE for Vibrant. It’s such a gorgeous, metallic shadow!)
bareMinerals - Endless Summer Bronzer Since I went full glam on the eyes, I kept my bronzer simple with this look. No contouring. If you haven’t tried the bareMinerals Endless Summer bronzer, you’re missing out. I believe this was voted one of the best products of 2020–for good reason! This is my go-to for everyday.
bareMinerals - Endless Glow Highlighter In the same vein as the bronzer, I kept my highlight simple with the bareMinerals Endless Glow highlighter. The formal is beautiful and, as you’ll see in the unfiltered after-photo, it provides a truly GORGEOUS glow. It’s very pigmented and seems dark in the pan, but I’m very fair-skinned and it leaves me with a stunning highlight every time.
There ya have it! My Bears glam look. Let me know if you try it! 😘

Silky Smooth With Tatcha Silk Canvas! 🪴
🪴Tatcha The Silk Canvas Filter Finish Protective Primer TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer
🪴Price: $52.00 (0.7oz)
🪴What It Is: “This multi-tasking skin-protecting, makeup-perfecting primer for face, eyes and lips:
* Blurs: Silk extracts feel nourishing on skin and instantly diminish the look of pores, fines lines and imperfections for the perfect canvas before makeup.
* Primes: Silk powder makes makeup glide on more evenly and last longer, minimizing excess shine with a soft focus finish.
* Protects: Protective barrier derived from botanicals acts as a barrier between makeup and skin, helping to minimize clogged pores that can lead to breakouts. Anti-pollution natural active ingredients fight immediate attack from environmental stressors and help support the skin's barrier function to act against future attack, visibly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dullness.
* Enhances: Pink and gold pearl helps even skin tone for a healthy look.
* Anti-aging: Hadasei-3™, a trinity of Japanese superfoods, green tea, rice and algae, visibly restores youthful radiance.”
🪴Side Note: Formulated without:
Parabens, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, sulfate detergents, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA, and cruelty-free!
🪴How To Use: “Glide the spatula lightly across the top of balm. Dot with fingertips and massage into skin. A little goes a long way. Use a rice-sized amount for the whole face.
Can be used alone or with makeup. Apply after SPF, before any makeup.”
🪴My Thoughts: So I know this primer has a lot of mixed reviews, but I happen to really like it. The main complaint I see is that it pills up, but I think that’s because people aren’t using it the right way. For this primer it’s important that you only use a small amount, and I‘ve found it applies better when you gently press it into the skin (not rub). It leaves my skin smooth, blurred, and lays a beautiful base for my foundation which ends up looking flawless all day. I think it’s really cool that it also helps protect your skin and has anti-aging properties. It’s definitely expensive, but you get a good amount of product and it really is a great face primer. If you’re willing to splurge a bit, I would definitely recommend this!

My fav drug store product of 2020 for only $8!
Guys, I seriously can’t tell you how much I am in love with this primer!
I’ve previously used Lancôme, Smashbox, Urban Decay and CoverFX primers which are all significantly more expensive than the US$8 / AU$16 for the e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer
This product is legit amazing! It has the most soft silky texture on the skin, fills your pores but doesn’t cause congestion or breakouts and makes my makeup look flawless! It’s a pale pink in the packaging but once it’s smooths into the skin completely disappears. There is no strong smell or fragrances so is completely pleasant to use. It’s considered by many beauty bloggers to be a dupe for the TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primerwhich I haven’t tried but at US$52 / AU$83 is roughly between 5-7 times more expensive depending on where you live!
If you’re in the market for a primer which not only feels lovely on your skin but makes your pores appear smooth and your makeup flawless then I highly recommend you give the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer a go 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tik tok #beautyhack - selfies
This trick I learned from beauty guru @irisbeilin. She recently posted it on her tik tok and it’s stepped up my makeup selfie game. Super simple, in order to emphasize and highlight certain features when taking a selfie, hold a reflective surface (like a hand mirror) horizontal & face up about chest level. Make sure the mirror is catching the light and that the light is reflecting into your face. Be used with natural light, a lamp or a ring light, I promise it really works. Top photo is with a mirror, bottom photo is with no mirror.

Bronzer doubling as eyeshadow
Something I like to do when I’m a) pressed for time b) lazy c) want the quickest eyeshadow look without trying to come up with a pretty, colourful colour scheme is add bronzer to my eyelids. I like this because it gives my eyes a wKe up call, but also achieves a depth that adds to the makeup look that easily achieves without the hassle of picking a colour scheme or even opening an eyeshadow palette.
Ive done this with so many bronzers that I feel like any bronzer shade would work. My current bronzer is Too Faced - Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer and it works great as a light eyeshadow. Its not very pigmented, so easy to blend, and has a tiny shimmer so gives a subtle glow. The result of the shadow almost looks like a contoured lid, I feel like it even makes my eyes look bigger if I only apply from the crease and upwards to the brow bone.
Swipe to see close up of final look! 💁🏻♀️

Instant weight loss by collarbone contouring 🤔
You know how we girls sometimes can go out of our way to make us look better. And one extra step I would bother to take when doing makeup in summer is to contouring my collarbones to make them pop and more emphasized, especially when I am wearing crop tops. I mean, when these extra lines and blending can make us look in better shape, there is no loss in learning these tricks, right? I’ve prepared a breakdown of this technique and it’s really easy, now let’s see.
· Products you need:
◇ a bronzer product that is pretty deeper than your skin tone
◇ a highlighter
◇ eyeshadows glitters (optional)
· Products I used:
◇ Single eyeshadow in the shade “omega” from MAC
◇ Liquid highlighter in the shade “champagne pop” from Becca
◇ Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in the shade “diamond dust” from Stila
· Steps and tips:
◇ Use a lotion to moisturize the areas you are going to contour. It’s like you would apply a primer to make your makeup lasts longer and looks better.
◇ Push your shoulders and brush the lines above and underneath your collarbones with the bronzer product of your choice. It’s okay if there are harsh lines and make sure you repeat several times so it will actually make a difference.
◇ Use a beauty blender to blend the bronzer and make it look natural.
◇ Apply the liquid highlighter right on the collarbones.
◇ Dab some glitters from any of your eyeshadows to add some subtle shines. They will look especially great under the sunlight. I personally find the glitter eyeshadow from stila a perfect choice at this step.
◇ You can use a setting spray to set if you worry it would smudge.
So here are the steps to create a finely drawn glowy collarbones contouring. Hope it would help you and let me know the results in the comments if you try this out!

some new makeup developments for me!
So!
i’m not good at contouring, never have been. BUT today, i used bronzer effectively! i was so excited and nervous lol and it came out really pretty and i’m very excited about it. i used a lot of too faced stuff for this shiny glowy look (inspired by Bailey Sarian’s 90’s makeup look tbh) and overall this was an incident free application process. as usual, many of these products are my favs and i adore them, but i did want to talk a little bit about the MAYBELLINE - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer
i actually meant to buy the concealer when i bought this, but it is the PERFECT summer shade for me. using a wet beauty blender i really pounded it into my skin and honestly, this is the nicest i have ever gotten a foundation to look on me. it’s very creamy and buildable, and honestly for 10 dollars how could you go wrong? i have medium skin during the summertime (i tan easily) so darker shades work best for me and honestly, i feel like i’m glowing AND have nothing on. Strong recommendation! hope you all have a wonderful day and try this foundation (or any of the other products here) and experiment!

playing w makeup!!
ever since quarantine started, ive been playing around with makeup and taking pictures of the looks. i’ve been too nervous to put them on my instagram and they’ve just been sitting in my camera roll. i recently discovered this app, so i decided to put them here!!! i’m not a professional when it comes to makeup, i’m just someone who really finds it relaxing 🌸
on my face✨
NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette
i’ve had this palette FOREVER and it has never let me down! whenever i want to do a colorful look i’ve always reached for this one. i also wanted to venture into purple eyeshadow bc i saw that purple really suites hazel eyes! the purples in this palette are great. there’s a lavender color in here that i didn’t think would be really pigmented, but luckily i was wrong!! so beautiful and so easy to work with 💗💗
essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara
i use this everyday bc i can never do my eyebrows right with a pencil aahhh. it’s very natural and not too pigmented which i like for a brow gel bc it makes it easier not to mess up!
tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush
MY FAVORITE BLUSH!!! this was the first blush i had ever tried after having no interest in it whatsoever. i use the color risque and it is perfect for fair skin. such a beautiful color and lasts all day. however, it’s really easy to over do it, but, lowkey, i like that look lmaoo
e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer
i’m still trying to figure out this product. i’m very new to concealers and so far it’s very good! i think i just have a lot of fine lines under my eyes and just have to come to terms with it. blends out beautifully and never looks cakey!
COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer
i’m also very new to tinted moisturizers, but this is AMAZING!! i love how it evens out my skin and it never leaves my skin looking greasy!
p.s. idk how to get the pics to not be looped videos so sorry if that was kinda annoying ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
