Pre-Poo for Healthier Hair & Scalp💆🏽♀️
If this is your first time ever reading the word pre- poo you must be wondering what it is. 🌀What is a pre-poo? Pre- poo is how you prepare your hair before you put shampoo. Pre-poo can be a diy hair/scalp treatment or a mixture of oils that you can put in your hair before shampoo. You must also be wondering... 🌀Why is pre-poo important? Pre-poo is important for the hair because it helps to balance the natural oils of our hair and scalp while the shampoo cleans the hair and scalp. Therefore, pre-poo is like a barrier or a protective layer between the natural oils in the scalp and the shampoo that will get rid of all the oils in our hair. And when this happens it can most of the times cause the hair and the scalp to get really dry. And nobody wants dry hair/scalp is not healthy. You probably want to also know what product I’m using as a pre-poo and why... 🌀DOO GRO - Mega Thick Hair Oil I’m using the Doo Gro - Anti itch Oil (they have several versions) I use it as a pre-poo because it have many benefits and is also an oil that can be use daily or 2-3 time per week. I can use it before I wash my hair but also in between. Plus it helps if I have any itchiness. For wash day I leave it for 30 mins then wash it out with shampoo and continue with my weekly hair routine. The benefits : • Helps eliminate dry scalp •Promotes strong, shiny, healthy hair • Tea Tree oil, Shea butter & vitamin formula •Eases scalp tightness • Tames frizzies • Helps reduce breakage allowing hair to grow longer I recommend this oil is bomb. I usually get mine at my local beauty supply for like $7. #CherieCreator #CheriePartner @cherie

Attention！✨Your hair questions answered!
These are the most common questions I get asked as a hair stylist! My blonde hair keeps going yellow and brassy in between my hair appointments, what can I do to help this? Here’s a bit of colour science for you... Blonde hair is YELLOW! It varies between yellow to a very pale yellow but technically blonde hair is yellow. When you are in salon, we will use toners which help to neutralise this yellow tone and give you the tone you want, whether this is creamy, ash, pearl or silver. Unfortunately, these toners will fade to some extent after about 2 weeks. In-between hair appointments it is best to use a purple shampoo, this is because ‘violet’ neutralises ‘yellow’. Using these shampoo’s will keep your blonde look clean and fresh until your next appointment. My go to shampoo is Fanola No Yellow Shampoo. Tip – Only use when needed. I can’t seem to get the same finish to my hair when I leave the salon. What am I doing wrong? Simple – ask, watch and listen to your stylist... Your hair stylist will generally have years of training in the industry, ask them how you can recreate the look at home, they will be more than happy to advise you. Tip – Salon products are designed to give you that beautiful salon finish, they are defiantly worth investing in. Why do I keep losing hair? We naturally shed between 50-100 hairs a day; this is completely natural. There may be several reasons as to why you may shed hair more than normal, this could be stress, medication, illness or hormonal. If you are worried seek advice from your GP or Trichologist. How often should I really get my hair done? This generally changes between services and your stylist will normally recommend when you should return, however these are the general times that I recommend: Cuts: 6-8 weeks. Roots: 4-6 weeks. Highlights: 6-8 weeks. Balayage/Ombre: 12 weeks. Treatments: Every visit.

2 Things You Could Be Doing Better for Your Hair
I will be the first to admit that I don’t have the best hair habits: I dye, process, straighten, swim in chlorine pools and salt water, and then douse it in product hoping it will all be okay. Bad habits are hard to break, but what could you be doing better? These two little things aren’t game-changers, but they are easy steps towards good hair habits. Brush Before You Shower You know that you’re supposed to comb your hair after you shower because your hair is at it’s most breakable when it’s taken on water. The same is true in the shower: when you’re raking through tangles with conditioner, you’re much more likely to pull and break hair and end up with a small rodent-sized clump of hair in your hands. An easy way to make it easier to work shampoo and conditioner through your hair is to just gently brush it before you hop in the shower with a hairbrush of your choice. Make sure to start from the bottom and work your way up to the root to pull the least amount of hair. A detangling spray like can help prevent breakage as well! Use Silk Scrunchies and Hosiery Hair Ties Does it seem like your ponytail is completely riddled with flyaways and too-short baby strands? Regular hair ties can pull and break your hair, especially if you pull your hair tight. An easy alternative is silk, satin, or hosiery scrunchies and ties that will slide against your hair and is much less painful and headache-inducing, plus they look very chic on your vanity and head! What are some other simple good hair habits you have? Comment them below!
