Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Solutions
I’m taking one for the team right now. I originally went to Ulta to get some Ordinary products however they only carried 2 of their products at my local Ulta, neither of which I needed because they were more hydrating serums and that’s not what I needed for my very acne prone skin. As you can see in the pictures of my cheeks and forehead those are my most acne prone spots and the spots that are the most oily. I came across this little kit from Juice Beauty called “Blemish Clearing Solutions” and noticed there are no reviews on here for the products in the box. I got this kit for $40 at Ulta and decided to give it a shot and see what it does for me. On google Juice Beauty has mixed reviews and a 4.1 star average which to me is good enough to give it a try. In the kit it gave me a blemish clearing cleanser, a blemish clearing serum, a oil free moisturizer, and a bamboo pore refining mask. It also came with a face towel which I thought was pretty neat. The blemish clearing cleanser had sort of a weird smell but nothing abnormal and no fragrance which as we all know that’s a good thing. My face also felt fairly soft to the touch after using. The blemish clearing serum is very liquid (which I believe serums are supposed to be like) and went on easy, however I had to use around 3 dime sized squeezes to cover my whole face because it drys fast. The oil-free moisturizer is very thick and has a consistency like in the bottle sunscreen. So I had to use quite a bit of the moisturizer to cover my face as well. I haven’t used the mask yet but I’m thinking I’ll only use it once a week because my pores are average and I don’t need to focus on them too much. It is recommended to use the products twice a day. So far the products seem good but I’m yet to see what it truly does for my acne prone skin. So for now I’m giving it a 3 star rating only because I don’t know how my skin will react to it. I’m open to comments and for anyone else who has used these products to let me know how they worked for you! JUICE BEAUTY - Blemish Clearing Solutions Kit
My Oldschool Acne Cure
It never occurred to me to use Calamine Lotion for acne until I saw the Mario Badescu drying lotion. It was pink which was a dead give away to me what it was. I looked it up and sure enough its calamine and salicylic acid. I hate salicylic acid, and literally had some calamine in the cupboard so figured I'd give it a go. For my sensitive skin this is pretty much perfect. I put a thick layer on my zits at night and even a thin layer on some of my oily problem areas. Similar to a clay mask you will see it dry up the oils and start to crack. But, it always remains super soothing. Usually after having some on for a couple hours I will see a decrease in redness. I will even put concealer over the dry patches for keeping my zits dry throughout the day. 100% would recommend for acne and especially cystic acne and oily problem areas.
Apple cider vinegar: 2 week check-in
I started my mornings with a cup of warm water, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and a splash of lemon juice. Jennifer Aniston says that this is the secret to aging gracefully and maintaining a healthy metabolism. ACV is also noted to help with bacterial and fungal acne, as well as brighten complexion. There are so many documented properties of the ACV cleanse (some researched and some a matter of opinion.) But here are the changes I saw: less puffiness improved skin brightness better skin texture more energy my gut felt healthier *I did not see as much change in my acne as I’d hoped, but I was also on my period the past week, and consumed a more sugary diet :( I really want to continue this process to see what the longer term benefits provide for me and my body. Also it was so refreshing to replace my cup of morning coffee for a cup of ACV. I felt refreshed and healthy.. and the ACV didn’t hit my gut as hard as my acidic morning coffee usually does. If you plan on doing this yourself, I recommend keeping the ACV to water ratio low, and not consuming more than 2 tablespoons of ACV, as the acidity could burn your oesophagus. ACV has acetic acid, which neutralizes the PH of your gut. But you definitely want to water that stuff down. (Also it’s super gross straight up, so why torture yourself?) All in all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a homeopathic method of improving your overall skin health. Let me know if you end up trying this, and how it works for you!
Red inflamed acne spots
I was doing so good with my skincare journey , i always seem to breakout before my cycle. I also tend to over analyze my skin causing me to do toooo much and end up with worse case of acne flare up. I broke out on my forehead and got frustrated since my skin was doing so well from a previous longgg acne breakout for months. I had seem to have clear skin. Hey 👋🏽 guys so I just wanted to know if you have any other recommendations for an acne cream because as you can see I wasn’t really a fan of this one. Here are some reasons why : I’m really not a fan of the texture. It’s really hard to spread onto the face and it dries instantly. (I know that people like me who have combination skin more to the oilier side should like this but nah 😂) When I first tried it my skin went crazy dry ! My skin had never peeled like that before and let’s just say it was kind of scary 😅. And sometimes I felt like it irritated my skin. Every time I applied it to my face the cream peeled so it was very annoying to use. Even though I didn’t put anything before it. So you have to quickly but carefully apply it to your face. (Most of the times I just patted in.) So yeah basically not a fan. If you have anything to recommend please let me know and you can also check out my other post which is kind of related to this. Should I change my routine?
I have combo and acne prone skin. I used to use Himalaya skin products, until i switched to western skincare. I now use a camomile makeup remover from The Body Shop, Aloe foaming cleanser from The Body Shop, Tea tree oil also from The Body Shop, Niacinamide from The Ordinary & hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary & SPF moisturiser from CeraVe. Ive seen improvement in my skin with major pimples being diminished pretty quickly but I still have bumps & pimples all over my face, blackheads on my nose & little bumps on my eyelids. I struggle with dull skin & my skin texture generally changes during seasons.
Happy Texture Tuesday!
Today I bring you my secret to fighting hormonal acne. I have gone 23 years without ever having hormonal acne and then it decided to make its way into my life! Thankfully I had this trio to help it kick rocks. @kitavamd gifted me their 3 step acne treatment and it has helped me so much. Step 1 Acne Cleansing Gel: This cleanser includes salicylic acid and works to dissolve of acne bumps and impurities. This cleanser did a great job of drying out my acne bumps but I found that I can only use this for a max 5 consecutive days or it dries out my skin Step 2 Smoothing Facial Cream: this moisturizer works to restore, balance, and nourish the skin. I truly do enjoy this moisturizer! It’s nice and creamy and my skin soaks it up Step 3 Tea Tree Spot Treatment: this was my favorite step. This spot treatment helped so much and I noticed my spots reducing in size after just one day of using it. Overall this trio is definitely a treatment that I will continue to use when spots appear. *products gifted*
