Skincare Journey: Four Day Results!
Hello beautiful people, I’m back home now and have access to some of my skin care, as well as some basic products that I’m trying out. So far my skin already feels so much better! Not only being back at a familiar climate and altitude, but being able to use products that make me feel and look good have really been great. To cleanse my face I’ve been finishing my bottle of Neutrogena - Deep Clean Purifying Cream-to-Foam Detox Cleanser it’s a decent cleanser I love the cream to foam consistency. However, I feel like this cleanser strips my skin to much because it literally makes my skin squeaky clean. Although I have oily skin, I understand that by striping my skin I’m overly drying it and possibly damaging my moisture barrier. Next I’ve been using the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer so far I’m loving this moisturizer. It feels very light upon application, like actual water, but my skin feels so smooth and fresh after I apply this. I wake up with nice skin in the morning, it doesn’t feel dehydrated. And unlike some moisturizers I’ve tried it doesn’t sensitize or burn my skin. As a sunscreen I picked up some sun bum - Mineral Sunscreen Face Tint SPF 30 I love this sunscreen. As a preface I live in Southern California, and I’m in the sun a lot, at least on the weekends. I surf and skate almost every weekend and spend a majority of time at the beach. This sunscreen feels so smooth on my face, it dissipates almost instantly and my skin feels soft after using it. The only downside is a slight white cast even with the tint in it. However, that’s expected with a mineral sunscreen. It is a little pricey, but once again since I spend so much time in the sun I feel like it’s worth it. I did notice it washed into my eyes a tiny bit when I went surfing but it also hadn’t had much time to set into my face when I reapplied it. For my lips I’ve been using Vaseline - Lip Therapy, Original Lip Balm but the Shea butter one. It feels nice, but it comes off pretty easily. I don’t mind reapplying it but you have to use your fingers so it’s kinda gross if your hands are dirty. I love the feel of it though and my lips have been visibly softer since using it. And at night when I haven’t worn any makeup I just cleanse once with the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water it removes my sunscreen well and doesn’t strip my face to badly. I would use the unscented version because I don’t want to strip my face too much, but since it’s literally rose water and has no alcohol I’m not worried about it. The product feels nice and refreshing as well and it’s very relaxing before bed since I’m not splashing straight water around my bathroom to wash my face off. Overall I’ve seen results in my skin by just adding a few products to my routine. That’s all for now, see you next time beautiful!

Makeup Wipe Disaster
Hey beautiful people, So a little update so far on my skin care journey! I’m still on a little vacation right now so I don’t have access to my skin care at all. Let me tell you what a bumpy ride my skin has had. Between wearing a mask for two days straight, being stressed and traveling, having no cleanser or makeup remover, and more. My skin had been horrible the last two weeks. Since leaving, I’ve had horrible maskne. Deep set sebaceous filaments, and painful deep red zits. My skin has been over producing oil, but remains dehydrated. So far on this trip I’ve had to literally scrape my makeup off with paper towels and a bar of soap. I have no moisturizer and no spf with me so my skin was dry and it was burning. Today, I took my makeup off with wipes. Dun dun dunnn! Atrocious, I know. My face, ears, and neck are all burning and pulsing. I used some of my boyfriend’s mother’s unscented lotion to try and break up some of the makeup before scraping it off with the wipes. Overall, my skin is not happy. And I’ll need a heavy detox when I get home. So far the skin care journey is starting from rock bottom. But, I’m optimistic that this journey will not be for nothing! I’m really excited to start and share this journey with y’all. See ya next time beautiful! P.S. the products I used aren’t on this app but they are: bounty paper towels equate makeup remover wipes caress bar soap
Hello everyone, I don’t really know how to start this but I decided my news years resolution is to be kinder to myself. I’m going to start by improving my skincare routine, based on my own research as well as products recommended by SkincarebyHyram and James Welsh. As you may notice I love makeup and I’ve been getting steadily better over the years, however you may also be able to tell that I have oily/combo skin, which is also textured. With it being the winter months I’ve also noticed my skin being dehydrated, but over producing oil and sebaceous filaments. To help with this I will be purchasing, testing, and reviewing products to find a morning and night routine that fit my requirements. This includes being affordable, and simple. This is because in addition to being a full time college student, I also babysit almost full time for family. I hope you’ll follow me, and hopefully have some fun and/or learn something along the way!
Love, love, LOVE!
Okay, so I used to be a really big skeptic about my face ever brightening. But then again I never really kept a skincare routine. So one day my friend and I went to Ulta, and she was raving so much about The Ordinary. Seeing that it was cheap, I asked a sales associate and she recommended the Granactive Retinoid in 2%, but since they didn’t sell it in store, I bought the Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% and ordered the Retinoid online. A week later I started seeing a difference so I bought the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and the Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. My biggest concerns were my dark spots, and as you can see in the second picture they were pretty bad around my chin and cheeks, along with some on my forehead. A month later, (second pic) my skin is almost completely clear! I’m really glad I gave this amazing brand a chance. They have forever changed my life and boosted up my confidence to the point that I don’t even consider taking pictures with a filter anymore. Another concern is my pores and keeping my skin clean, so I use the Origins mask once a week to clear out my skin. My routine: AM: Alpha Arbutin Niacinamide Moisturizer with SPF PM: Retinoid Alpha Arbutin Niacinamide Once a week I do: Peeling Solution Alpha Arbutin Niacinamide

french braid DUPE if you cant french braid!☀️
Hello everyone! today i am showing you how to do a two stranded french braid that emulates a real french braid! its really simple and easy, and it also can curl your hair if you leave it over night! 🌙 my hair is very thick, long, and fine, so its very hard to braid. i have a lot of hair and it’s hard to seperate and braid through all of it. i just learned how to french braid like a few weeks ago, but this is what i used to do before! all you need for this look is a hair brush, a hair mist to dampen your hair (i use the ARGAN MAGIC - 10 in 1 Treatment Leave in Spray ), and some hair bands to tie it off! here are some tips: make sure it’s very tightly twisted, or it may fall out! make sure to try to braid horizontally and away from your face for the best result if you have thin hair, you can pull it a little when its all tied up to make it look thicker! lemme know what you think below!💗☺️

Hyaluronic Acid 101 x DermDoctor
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a humectant that famously holds 1000 times its weight in water. It pulls in water from the environment and from the deeper layers of your skin. This ingredient seems to be ubiquitous in skincare products nowadays and it can be found in a lot of moisturizers. Benefits: -Immediately plumps the skin, softening fine lines and wrinkles -Hydrates the skin (specifically high-molecular-weight HA) -Assists in wound healing Dermatologist Tips: -Hyaluronic acid is your first step after cleansing -Must be applied to damp skin! -If you live in a dry climate, make sure to moisturize immediately after -Can be used once or twice a day -Safe to layer with most other skincare ingredients My Top Picks: VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum This contains a high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, which has moisturizing properties and sits on the surface of the skin without causing inflammation. It contains only 11 ingredients making it ideal for people with sensitive skin (like me). Also, Vichy’s proprietary volcanic water has actually been studied and proven to have skin protective and healing properties THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum The price point here is unbeatable. Again, with a simple ingredient list, you’re unlikely to run into issues with allergy or irritation. This contains a multi-molecular-weight HA, which allows you reap additional benefits, in addition to hydration and plumping. This also has matrixyl 3000 peptide, which can stimulate collagen synthesis Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum Both high and low-molecular weight hyaluronic acid for added benefits. This also contains glycerin (another amazing humectant) and vitamin B5 (an amazing anti-oxidant) NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% A great option fragrance-free, cruelty-free option from Naturium! This contains multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid that hydrates, plumps, and repairs the skin. #CheriePartner

Let’s Talk: The Ordinary Niacinamide (Results)✨
What is niacinamide? Also known as nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B-3. Its main use is for a brightener, age defying, anti-inflammatory, sebum-reducer (oil control). Notice how I didn’t say it’s a acne cure. Can I use niacinamide for acne? Yes, if it’s not fungal or compromised. It’s antibacterial & sebum controlling properties are great for acne (which is an inflammatory condition & usually can be linked to too much sebum production). This product! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I have combo/oily skin so this product works for me ! ($5.90) If it didn’t work for you, here’s things to consider! It’s NOT really ideal for dry skin. Why? Because zinc combined with niacinamide is a EXTRA Oil controller, if you don’t produce a lot of oils what are you really controlling? The concentration is too high! All studies conducted for Topical use of niacinamide were honestly conducted at 5% or less! So to pack a whopping 10% in a serum (which most products on the market do) is probably a lot for your skin. Some dermatologist recommend using this as a booster or even introducing to your skin slowly. ———This means: 1) Cleanse 2) Tone (if that’s your thing) 3) Exfoliate (is that’s your thing) 4) Booster (by themselves or mix) 5) Essence/Hydrating Serum 6) other serums 7) Moisturize (Best order for Applying skin care) Other info: The Ordinary actually Doesn’t recommend using this as a solo acne treatment! It recommends Benzoyl Peroxide, & Retinoid Acid for consistent acne. Or Salicylic acid for temporary blemishes! Your serum should be Cloudy colored. It shows it authenticity. I use this product at night! I usually treat my hormonal/comedonal acne and other issues with oil control at night due to my abundance use of other serums during the day. ✨✨My Routine : (Most nights) Cleanse, Tone, Niacinamide, Differin Gel, CeraVe PM moisturizer w/ Rosehip Oil. (Once-Twice a night) Cleanse, Tone, The Ordinary Peel, Tone, Niacinamide, CeraVe Daily moisturize w/ Rosehip oil ***My results are the use of my routine, and controlling my hormonal/comedonal acne. As stated I have combo/oily skin. I apply this in a triangle (one drop on forehead & one on each cheeks & pat/rub) it’s enough to cover my face!***

CERAMIDES! What & why? ALL SKIN TYPES.
Ever heard of a healthy skin barrier? Are you using products with ingredients that help the skin barrier? Let me introduce to you, CERAMIDES. Ceramides occur naturally in the uppermost layers of our skin. They are lipids (fats) that help form our skin barrier and retain moisture. Ceramides also protect our skin from environmental aggressors. Why do we need them? As we age and our sun damage increases, we loose our natural ceramides. Not enough ceramides means a compromised skin barrier aka dry, itchy, and irritated skin. What do Ceramides in skincare do? They help rebuild and reinforce our skin barrier, increase hydration and decrease skin’s signs of sensitivity. Basically plumper, smoother, firmer, and less irritated skin! What skin type needs ceramides? ALL SKIN TYPES! Since Ceramides are natural and part of our skin, everyone can use products with Ceramides in them. Ingredients list! Most of the time it’s pretty obvious, products will say the word Ceramide, but they can also be identified as phytosphinogosine and sphingosine aka ingredients that get the skin into making ceramides. To sum it all up! Ceramides help keep our skim barrier in tip top shape! A good skin barrier means healthy skin! My favorite Ceramide products are listed below! Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid + moisturizing toner. + 5-cera complex + dry skin: use as toner. + oily skin: use as toner or moisturizer. + pat in with hands. + absorbs nicely into skin, not sticky. + helps dry flakey skin and eczema. + leaves skin soft and supple. $38 5.07 oz/150ml seiso JBEAUTY - Ceramide Moisture Milk + lightweight + milky gel like texture + replenishes daily loss of ceramides and fatty acids. + improves hydration + reduces inflammation + promotes healthy skin barrier. $95 50ml 1.7oz More affordable options? ANYTHING CeraVe. Quick but EFFECTIVE morning routine using Cerave
Fun fact: using too many products on your skin can actually have more harm than good. The best advice someone gave me was to start simple, then ADD once you understand what products and ingredients work for you! So this is my super quick but effective morning routine for when I’m in a rush! Using only 3 products from one of my favorite skin care company. I started using Cerave from a recommendation from a dermatologist. I was having a hard time controlling my breakouts and couldn’t find any products that weren’t overly expensive. He told me about Cerave and how it was affordable with natural ingredients to help my skin. I started this 3 step routine and immediately saw my breakouts clear. I’ve since been able to add additional steps to my skincare routine but like I said starting off simple, figuring out what works for your skin is so IMPORTANT! I love Cerave because it is affordable, clean, and a great start to improving your skincare routine! Three steps: Cleansing Vitamin C Moisturizer Sunscreen (so technically 4 steps cause we can’t ever forgot to protect our skin!) My skin is oily/combination so I found using the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin this is my all time go to facial cleanser. If your skin is oily or combination I would highly recommend. I would not reccomend if your skin is dry. It’s fragrance free, non-irritating, and it won’t clog your pores. I prefer this cleanser over others because it helps control the oil on my face without drying out my skin. It also contains 3 essential ceramides, niacinamide & hyaluronic acid to help restore your skin barrier. This product actually was one of the main reasons my face stopped breaking out so bad. I’ve been using this product for about 6 months now and have seen some great results! Next up I love using the CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum this vitamin C serum helps to brighten my skin, stimulate collagen, and even help with fine lines. Only use vitamin c in the morning. This is actual the first vitamin C product I’ve used on my face. I use this every morning (NOT at night) and it helps brighten my face, improves skin tone, and texture. I actually use this instead of using a face toner. Toners tend to clog my pores and this provides the brightness and evenness I crave for my skin! Step 3 is always an important one: moisturize! I can’t live without my CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin I even keep the travel size in my purse. Like I said Cerave is so affordable this Daily Moisturizer is only $12. And for $12 you get a lightweight formula that provides 24-hour hydration. Does not contain any oil and it’s recommended for normal to dry skin. I use this in the morning (I use a different moisturizer at night). And ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!! In a rush, no big deal! Use this simple but still effective morning routine. Less than 5 mins and you’re out the door!
