Wonderful Coffee Scrub
Wonderful Coffee Scrub
One of the best shower scrubs I have ever tried! I want to make a disclaimer that this product is by no means a necessary part of your routine but I like it because it makes me feel fancy. At first I was hesitant to buy this scrub because it retails at $19.99 which to me seemed a little bit pricey. But I decided to pick it up anyways to treat myself, and I’m glad I did! Which this coffee scrub a little goes a long way, I’ve been using it 2-3 times a week for about 4 weeks now and I use it all over my body for some good exfoliation. I’ve barely made a dent in it! To me that’s worth the money. I like to use it before I shave to help exfoliant and get a closer shave and smoother skin. But I want to go into some highlights about this product that I love ☀️It has Kakadu Plum, when helps brighten skin (although I haven’t noticed a huge difference in this area) 🍃 Has eucalyptus, which is a natural antibacterial 💧Hydrating Macadamia Nut Oil, I love this in this product! After using this I expected my skin to need some extra hydration, but I was pleasantly surprised! My skin felt very hydrated and smooth. Overall I will be repurchasing this product when I run out because I love the way my skin looks and feels after using this, and it a nice treat to have. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. 😊 ✨PSA please don’t ever using this one your face! The coffee grounds are too rough and would cause damage if used on your face. Use on your body only. ✨

My Summer SPF Routine! ☀️
My Summer SPF Routine! ☀️
As we approach the hottest months of the year here in the PNW it’s now important more than ever to make sure you get your daily SPF protection. 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer before they are 70* making it the most common type of cancer in adults. Limiting your exposure to the sun and using sun protection is a great way to avoid developing sun related issues. Sun exposure is also the most common cause of skin damage and earl signs of aging*. If you invest so much time and effort into your skincare routine but don’t include an SPF you are basically throwing your money away! Which is why you need to apply a daily SPF of 30+ everyday even if it is a cloudy day out. Currently I am really loving this Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 as far as chemical sunscreens go I like this one the most! It goes on super smooth and blends in well with my skin and it’s SPF 50! I use this after my moisturizer and before applying makeup. And although I love this product a lot, I have experienced some piling with it when combined with one of my moisturizers but to me this isn’t a deal breaker. The second product is from Alba BOTANICA and it is an SPF speed stick. Meaning it is an SPF in solid form that is great for touching up your SPF application throughout the day. I will normally carry this with me if I know I will be spending long amounts of time in the sun and it has worked great so far! Let me know what you guys think of these products, or if you have other recommendations! 😊 One thing I want to note is that there is a difference between a chemical and a physical sunscreen and someone people may have a sensitivity to chemical sunscreens, find out what works for you. *https://www.skincancer.org/skin-cancer-information/skin-cancer-facts/ *https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/wrinkles

Let’s talk about Gau Sha and Rollers
Let’s talk about Gau Sha and Rollers
So I want to start off by saying that jade rollers/gau sha tools are definitely a very fun tool to treat yourself at the end of the day, and I really like giving myself a little face massage after a long day at work or school. But I do want to make it clear that this is not a necessary tool that you need to go out and buy. And while there are some benefits to continued and proper use of these tools just like any other product it is not a miracle worker. There are definitely a lot expensive versions of these tools on the market and for me it is not worth spending that much, I found this set on Amazon for 12$ and I wouldn’t pay more than that personally. That being said I do want to talk about how I use these tools and what they do for me 😊 Some benefits of regular rolling and facial massage include 🌸Reduced puffiness ☀️Brighter skin and complexion ✨ Improved clarity 🌺 Release of muscle tension This is largely in part due to the lymphatic drainage that happens when you use these tools properly. Your lymphatic system is one of the bodies natural detoxification methods and is a HUGE part of your bodies immune system. Lymph fluid transports cellular waste and is mostly composed of lymphocytes (white blood cells) which attack bacteria in the blood. Lymph nodes help create immune cells that help protect your body from infection. And there is a high concentration of lymph nodes in your neck. The lymphatic system does not have a pump like the circulatory system (the heart). And without proper drainage it can cause puffiness, like when you wake up in the morning. This is were the tools come in. These tools when used regularly, they can help promote drainage and circulation to the area. Giving a more brightened and youthful appearance. Here are some tips when using these tools. Rollers are great tools for beginners as they are easier to use and don’t involve a lot of technique, both can be used to help applying products if you are feeling fancy With Gau Sha tools it is very important to use a facial oil to help the tool glide across the skin and to not use too much pressure. If you don’t you will end up doing more damage to your skin. Gau Sha tools are meant to be held flat to the face, not at a 90 degree angle. This prevents too much pressure and pulling. ALWAYS roll/scrape the tools away from the center of your face, I have included a diagram for helpful technique IMPORTANT NOTE: Gua sha should NOT be practiced on those with Botox or fillers, or pregnant women as it can stimulate certain acupressure points that need to be avoided during pregnancy. Overall these are a great and fun tool to use but are by no means a necessary part of your routine. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any other tips or tricks with these products! ☺️

The Key 🔑 to Great Hydration
The Key 🔑 to Great Hydration
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite products from The Ordinary and a forever repurchase The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 This serum is not only very budget friendly but effective. This product has the ability to add an extra boost to your daily moisturizer. I wanna talk a little bit about the main active ingredient Hyaluronic Acid. 💪 Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant which means that it attracts water molecules and in this case it attracts those molecules to your skin. 💧 Hyaluronic Acid has the ability to hold 1,000x it’s weight in water making it deeply hydrating 🌸It is gentle enough to use on all skin types, even people with skin conditions like rosacea and eczema. It also won’t make oily skin oilier! I know this from experience. ⭐️ It helps soothe and soft skin. And can reduce the appearance for fine lines a wrinkles overtime. And helps reinforce the skins natural barrier. With this particular serum I mix a small pea size amount in with my moisturizer. This serum has mixed well with all of my other products and I haven’t experienced any pilling. This is such an easy and affordable step to add into your skin care routine that I will always repurchase. One thing to note about Hyaluronic acid is being that it is a humectant, it only helps attract hydration to the skin by taking it from the environment. So if you live in a very dry climate this product may not work as well for you. Let me know what you guys think! 😊

My new favorite moisturizer 🌵🌙
My new favorite moisturizer 🌵🌙
This moisturizer has quickly stolen my heart as my new favorite. boscia - Cactus Water Moisturizer Is a lightweight yet deeply moisturizing gel formulated with peptides that help keep the skin nice and plump. The consistency and lightweight feel of this moisturizer is perfect for my skin. I have acne prone, oily skin so finding a product that is not only effective but doesn’t clog my pores is hard. This has been one of the very few I have tried that I loved. I’m going to tell you a couple things about this product that stands out to me and a couple draw backs, even though I love it overall ✨A great thing about this product is the clean ingredients, I use the Think Dirty app to scan all of my skincare products for harmful chemicals and I can very picky about some of them. This moisturizer has no SLS, Paraben, formaldehyde’s, or mineral oil 🌙One of the unique ingredients in this product is the Queen of the Night Cactus which is known to rejuvenate, hydrate, and help the skin adapt to it’s environment. 🌵 It also includes the “South African Resurrection Plant which Leaves skin revived for longer than 48 hours after a single application” 💧Lastly it is formulated with peptides, which help promote skin tone and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin nice and plump Although this product has been a holy grail for me overall there are a few things that are draw backs but at this point in time are not deal breaks for me. For one the price, this moisturizer retails at Sephora and Ulta for $38 which for me is a little bit pricey for only 1.6oz of product. I got around this only by happen stance, Costco was having a sale on this moisturizer in a jumbo size that was $9.99 which is a huge deal With this product I have experienced some pilling with certain other serums I have used, but nothing that would bother me too much Since this moisturizer is a gel consistency, it tends to have a “tacky” feel to it right after applying it, although that quickly absorbs. Overall even though there are draw backs, this has become my favorite moisturizer. I have already purchased 2 more tubs from Costco while they were still having their deal. For reference this tub has lasted me over 4 months now! And I’m not even finished with it yet! I will be repurchasing as long as I can sustain to 👏 Let me know what you guys think of this product in the comments or if you have other recommendations! ☺️

One of The Ordinary’s most popular serums
One of The Ordinary’s most popular serums
Let’s talk about one of the Ordinary’s most popular serums for acne-prone or oily skin, The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is quickly becoming one of my favorite serums I have ever used, simply for its effectiveness and affordability. The Ordinary’s skincare line has been taking the internet by storm lately and there are recommendations for this serum everywhere, especially if you have oily skin like me. But what does this combination of Niacinamide & Zinc actually do for your skin? I’m going to talk about so of the key benefits of this serum, how it has changed my skin, and why I will continue to keep this serum in my routine. Firstly I love the Ordinary’s approach to skincare and what the company stands for which is no-frills, affordable, active-ingredient based skincare that focuses on ingredient based education rather than vague promises of products that will magically improve your skin. But let’s be honest, at first this line is incredibly intimidating since all the products are listed with their actives as the title. This can be very off putting at first especially when just getting into skin care. I’ll admit it does take some time to learn about the products and recommendations, which is why I want to clear up a few things about this serum and what Niacinamide can realistically do for your skin. ✨Niacinamide is a multi-benefit active ingredient that can help regulate sebum production, which is the oily substance that produces on the surface of your skin which can lead to pimples works as an anti-inflammatory that helps with redness and can even help soothe eczema it can help minimize pore appearance and overall texture of the skin can increase cell turnover reducing acne it helps hyperpigmentation by inhibiting melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes. Which is a fancy way of saying it stops pigmentation from reaching the outer layers of your skin cells. it also helps boosts the natural barrier on your skin that aids in protecting the skin from harmful environmental effects and chemicals ✨ By now this product may be starting to sound like a miracle worker, and in my experience it is to some extent. In my years dealing with oily skin and outbreaks I have never come across a product that helped regulate my oily skin as much as this serum has. Within the first application I noticed my skin was way less oily during the day than without this product. Without this serum normally I would need to use oil absorbing papers and reapply my makeup at least once a day, but this product changed all of that! ✨ As far as the other benefits that this serums boasts I have seen some improvement in my skins texture and it definitely has helped lighten the dark spots left behind by my acne. I have also been breaking out less and less with continued use. I will be repurchasing this bottle when I run out for sure. Let me know what you guys think of this product! ☺️

GREAT BARRIER RELIEF // krave
GREAT BARRIER RELIEF // krave beauty After over two months of using this serum twice daily, it’s time I do a review! I’ve almost emptied my bottle and store it upside down to get every last use of the product out (unfortunately the pump wastes a lot of product at the bottom). Facts first: GBR is $28 for 40mls on the Krave Beauty site (US & Korea). It claims to be a skin repairing serum for a compromised skin barrier that evens complexion with star ingredients being tamanu oil, niacinamide, safflower oil, rosehip oil, squalane, ceramides, and cholesterols (in that order) in a thin, water based formula. I fell in love with the formula before I even purchased it after learning about it on YouTube (which I highly suggest doing!). tamanu oil has helped hyperpigmentation more than vitamin C or retinol has, which is crazy! Skin type: I have oily, dehydrated, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation and scarring. I use chemical exfoliants and SPF daily, acne preventative products, and masks regularly. I always felt like my skin barrier needed something more. I looked toward this product because it seemed to be the “all-in-one” that targets all my issues in one product. My results: After the first week, I noticed a significant reduction in oiliness. My skin was BALANCED, more than it has ever been. With prolonged use, my hyperpigmentation from recent acne started fading more easily, and my skin felt so supple. After exfoliant peels, prolonged sun exposure, etc., my skin CRAVES this product because I know I can count on it to restore its balance. Although this is a supplemental product in Krave’s line, it definitely is a formula I think all skin types, with any skin concern, would enjoy! Will I repurchase? Eventually, yes. Is this a holy grail? Absolutely. Right now, I have other products I need to use and test. I also know that rosehip oil alone has been a savior of mine in the past, and my skin responds similarly to it as it does to GBR. I also have other products currently in my routine with niacinamide, ceramides, and balancing oils that I can use… Unless Krave wants to replenish me of course LOL

Simple Ways to Jazz Up Your Hair (For Thin Hair)
Simple Ways to Jazz Up Your Hair (For Thin Hair)
Don’t you find it boring if you keep the same hairstyle everyday? Well, today I’ll be showing you a simple yet refined hairstyle that I like to do whenever I feel like a change.  Before I get into it, my hair type is oily at the hair root but dry at the ends. Because of this, the top of my head tends to look flat and the bottom of my hair has a lot of split ends, and looks coarse and messy. I also have thin hair, therefore, today’s look will be focused on achieving luscious and voluminous hair. I will be creating a natural mermaid wave that looks great on any hair length. It is such an effortless and simple look that is easy to achieve at home. The only tool that you will need is a straightener. I learnt this hairstyle from watching beauty bloggers. Almost all of them with thin hair types like me would praise this hairstyle. Usually, this hairstyle only takes me less than 10 minutes to do.  Firstly, I would section my hair into three layers. Starting with the bottom layer, I would curl my hair outwards and inwards into a wave that looks like instant noodles. Hold the curls until it cools so that it keeps its form.  One tip I would give is that make the bottom layer curl the strongest so that it holds up the top layers, creating a more voluminous look. The curls don’t have to be uniform, you can switch around the direction of the curls so that the hair looks more natural.  Remington Micro Diamond: For the straightener that I use, I usually keep the heat setting at 160 degrees for a more natural curl and at 200 degrees for a stronger and long lasting curl. I absolutely love this hairstyle and although I wish everyone would try this hairstyle, it might not be ideal for people blessed with thick hair already because it adds a lot of volume to the head and might end up too much.

JADE ROLLERS

🕊 WHAT ARE THEY
JADE ROLLERS 🕊 WHAT ARE THEY? Jade rollers are a small, paint-roller type tool made from solid jade stone, for use on the face. Jade rollers have been used in China since the 17th century!🎋 🕊 WHAT ARE THEY FOR? Jade rollers work to reduce puffiness and inflammation in the face, tightening and firming the skin. They have a brightening effect on the skin, due to boosting circulation and encouraging blood flow.🧖🏽‍♀️ 🕊 HOW DO THEY WORK? Jade rollers work to simulate the lymphatic system, essentially pushing along built up lymphatic fluids below the skin. For example, when you wake up and your face is puffy, it is because of pooled lymphatic fluid. 💧 🕊 HOW DO I USE IT? Apply a few drops of serum, moisturizer, or oil to the skin, and gently roll. There are specific rolling techniques used to most effectively stimulate lymphatic drainage (swipe to see diagram). If kept in the fridge or freezer, a jade rollers de-puffing properties will be boosted, and will help reduce any swelling.🌱 *Jade rollers will not cause your products to absorb into the skin any better. 🕊 WHEN DO I USE IT? Jade rollers can be used as often as you want. They are great when you are feeling extra puffy, you’re congested, allergies are acting up, or you can’t shake that morning puffiness. They can also help to reduce tension headaches. 💆🏽‍♀️ 🕊WHERE DO I GET IT? Many beauty companies now sell jade/rose quartz rollers at a variety of price points. They can be purchased through Sephora, and I often see them at Winners or Marshall’s. I purchased my jade roller for a few dollars off AliExpress
