Help!!!!! Problems with Cerave SA Cleanser
Hii! I’ve been using the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor about a month now. I use it every other day at night before I go to bed. I’ve been realizing this cleanser gives me under the skin pimples, but has made my skin more even and has minimized my pores greatly. It has also got rid of most of the texture of small colorless bumps on my forehead and chin. I already had/have acne so I figured this was just the purging period, but I’ve been using this product for a month and want to stop waking up with a new pimple every time I use it ): The pimples that appear are usually in the same spots, and sometimes even an old pimple will resurface. Please help explain to me why this is happening and if I should discontinue use! *** The rest of my routine includes: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and nights i dont use the sa cleaner CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotionmorning and night ——————- I cannot use many fragrances or chemicals as it damages my skin more than anything, thats why my skincare routine is so short and limited.
My cleansers So for me, I have four cleansers. The Laroche Posay 3 step acne kit cleanser with 2% salicylic acids and .05% micro-exfoliating LHA, which works well for acne and acne scars, the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser with hyaluronic acid, the Trader Joe’s face wash with tea tree oil, and the Clinique liquid facial soap.I have collected these over about three years, so no need to get 4 cleansers at the store right away. When do I use them? For my “cleansing” schedule, I definitely don’t use all of them at once. I use them depending on my skin’s needs. I have combo skin, so sometimes my skin is somewhat oily around my t-zone, and sometimes my whole face is dry. Sometimes when I have been picking at my acne, I like to use the Laroche Posay cleanser, because it helps with acne scabs/scars and acne. Or when my face just has a lot of acne, but I haven’t picked in a little while, I use the Trader Joe’s cleanser because tea tree oil helps with acne. When my face is dry I would use the hydrating cleanser, and when my skin is normal and I just want to get the dirt out, I would use the Clinique one, because it’s gentle and just gets all the dirt out. A Hit & A Miss From Versed 🧼
VERSED - JUST BREATHE Clarifying Serum A HIT ✨ My skins favourite Niacinamide serum This serum a serious stress reliever for my skin, it gets along SO well with other skincare products, doesn’t pill or get that “tacky” feeling, it also didn’t irritate my sensitive acne prone skin. 🔑 Key ingredients ☁️ Willow Bark Extract - Plant extract that converts into BHA ☁️ Zinc Blend - has anti-inflammatory properties, can help with acne & scarring ☁️ Niacinamide - helps reduce hyperpigmentation & minimize pore size VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum A MISS ☀️ I wanted my skin to love this SO bad This gentle Vitamin C serum is often boasted as good for vit c newbies and acne prone skin - and for most it’s probably amazing but unfortunately my sensitive skin disagrees, it caused some extra sensitizing similar to over exfoliating. I’d like to give it another try once my barrier has healed more. 🔑 Key ingredients ☁️ Vitamin C - Sodium ascorbyl phosphate ☁️ Licorice Root Extract - anti-inflammatory & anti microbial properties ☁️ Niacinamide - helps reduce hyperpigmentation & minimize pore size Were either of these Versed serums a HIT or a MISS for you?
Update on my products, almost forgot 2 things
In addition to my last post: I added my sunscreen and eye cream. I switch out the moisturizer with the sunscreen during the day and I usually keep it more simple during the day. Cleanser, toner, vitamin C serum, 10% Azeleic acid booster and a small amount of the gel moisturizer in my t-zone, then finish with two fingers worth of sunscreen. At night sometimes I end with just the gel moisturizer, sometimes I add my Curology on my problem areas. TRYING to keep it simple while treating my skin. Still pretty oily sometimes, especially if I’m not hydrating. Acne is still bad and have many red spots but trying to be patient. Lmk what you think! ✌🏽&❤️
This redness and maskne needs to go! I’ve been working on repairing my skin barrier for the last several months. My chin was super dry and flakey and it breaks out as well. PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum 4. Sweet CHEF - Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot 5. Krave - Great Barrier Relief 6. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ Pm: 1. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask I also use THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serumtwice a week. What are your recommendations? #Helpmeout
The 3-Step Clinique Routine
📅 april 2020. the lockdown. following my mom's advice, I ordered the Clinique products. 🔊 you have to know your skin type before buying it, especially the CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Clarifying Lotion 2 there are 4 of them (number on the bottle) type 1: for very dry to dry skin type 2: for dry combination skin (mine ✌🏾) type 3: for combination oily skin type 4: for oily skin 🔔 for the liquid facial soap, there are 2: 🍬 mild: for dry combination (mine ✌🏾) CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild 🍬 oily: for combination oily to oily skin. you can also go for the CLINIQUE - Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam 💗 for the last step, moisturizing, there are 2 as well: CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ for sensible skin. it's more creamy and soft (mine ✌🏾) CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gelfor oily skin. 🕯 here are the steps I followed: 1. clean with CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild 2A. exfoliate with CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Clarifying Lotion 2 but only once or twice a week. the denatured alcohol leaves this cool feeling but can be harsh on the skin. as Hyram said, exfoliating your skin too often is gonna produce the opposite effect and leave your skin irritated because you stripped it off its natural oils. 2B. then I used FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner every day. it's so soft. but be careful bc it's really liquid. 3. moisturize with CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ which is recommended for sensitive & combination skin. 😘 thanks for reading. 😎 hyram's yt channel : https://www.youtube.com/c/Hyram
Daytime skin care routine!
I like to keep my daytime routine super simple. First I wash my face with YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser which is I find perfect for my combination skin! Non stripping but yet still makes my skin feel clean. SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C Serum I’ve used this for almost 2 months. I only rated it a 3 star because honestly I don’t see it making a huge change in my skin. It does brighten and help with dullness a little. but I don’t see a change in my dark spots. I will use this up but I wouldn’t be re buying it. I’m personally just not a huge fan of it. GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture CreamI recently just got this hence why I didn’t rate it! It smells amazing just like bananas. It’s nice medium thickness moisturizer. So far I don’t find it super thick on my skin and it doesn’t make my t zone look oily. From what I’ve tried I’d rate it a 4 star. I don’t think this will be enough moisture for me once winter comes but I do think this will perfect for summer. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I love this sunscreen doesn’t make my face feel oily and doesn’t break me out. Also I love using this under makeup. If you don’t like siliconey feels then i don’t think you’d like this.
Let’s talk SPF
I had received Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 in one of my birch boxes. I finally ran out of my other sunscreen I was using. I love the way this feels on my skin. It dries down quickly. It feels almost powdery on the skin, which I don’t mind. As someone with sensitive skin, this doesn’t irritate my skin. Also the product is clear. The product claims it can be used as a makeup primer. I haven’t used it as such, so if you have let me know how it worked out. I only gave it a 4/5 because a full sized bottle is almost $50 which for me is a bit pricey for a sunscreen. So a little update: I’ve been using this for a week. This is the minimum amount of time before I’ll review something, you know to either have it start working or see if my skin will react. I know, I know I should be patch testing before anyone says anything. After a week of use my skin started itching and breaking out like nothing I’ve seen before. Thank god it came in a sample size in a birch box because I would have been slightly annoyed if I purchased this for $45 and my skin reacted this way. I’ll be passing this on to someone who can use it. Any suggestions on a new sunscreen?
Empties Mini Reviews
✨EMPTIES✨ • CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. I love this product. This is maybe my 10th bottle. It’s lightweight, hydrating, full of beneficial ingredients and none of the unnecessary stuff. This isn’t quite heavy enough for my dry skin to use in PM but I love it for AM use under my sunscreen. Oily / Combo skin friends will love this as a PM moisturizer. ✅ Will definitely repurchase. • Benton Deep Green Tea Toner. Full of antioxidants and calming ingredients. It’s hydrating but super light weight. Great for people with oily skin, acne, or irritation. ✅ Would repurchase. • CeraVa Hydrating Sunscreen (Sheer Tint). This leaves a nice glow and is super comfortable to wear. However, the formula could use some improvement. It transfers VERY easily and doesn’t stay on the skin. A lot of my clothes ended up with this smeared on them. It is also not a great tint, pretty dark / orange hued - people with fair skin should stay clear. I wish they would come out with more tints. The bottle also got clogged up easily and made a huge mess around the top. ❌ Wouldn’t repurchase. • Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer. I Love the feeling of the moisturizer. It is like a big gulp of water for my dry and dehydrated skin. It contains many skin barrier supportive ingredients. This products only downfall is the price. I think I could find other hydrating water cream moisturizers for a more cost effective price. ✅ Would repurchase (if I can’t find a dupe 😜). Have you tried any of these products? Which is your fave? Much love to you, friends!🌻
✨☁️ HA Cloud Cream Magically Melty ☁️✨
PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream ☁️”This dreamy lightweight cream is made of a whopping 30% concentrated hyaluronic acid, which transforms atmospheric vapor into fresh pure water straight from the clouds, providing skin with a continuous burst of intense hydration that lasts up to 72 hours”☁️ Ok WOW that’s quite a product description. Basically it’s skin care witchcraft that absorbs + converts the air around us into hydration for our face. Actually it’s not magic, it’s just hyaluronic acid😛 💦 Ingredients💦 PTR outlines three star ingredients ⭐️the first one being Hyaluronic Acid (obvi). 3 different molecular weights that make up 30% of the ingredients. A lot of brands and products will just throw hyaluronic acid somewhere down at the bottom of the ingredients list, put a tinyyy drop in the formula and BAM now they can advertise that ingredient and I don’t particularly like it when brands market like that. This product definitely has what it claims to have. ⭐️Ceramides to lock in the hydrating HA and seal that moisture into your skin. And there’s a bunch of different ceramides in this formula, they are very high on the ingredients list so it’s safe to assume they are in high enough concentrations for us to actually reap their benefits. ⭐️Antioxidant rich elderberry which is an ingredient that fights signs of aging in our skin. 🙋♀️my experience🙋♀️ This moisturizer is really popular right now and after trying it - I get it! Not sure if you can tell from the photo but the texture is literally a dream. It is so lightweight it sinks into my skin instantly, leaving no residue or tackiness. I would say that sometimes it felt too lightweight for me on my dry skin. For people with oily skin this would probably be perfect but for me personally not every time I used it but sometimes I would add some hemp seed oil or Rosehip oil on my face on top of the cloud cream to seal in the moisture a little bit more. For me there was no irritation from this product it is oil free alcohol free and fragrance free. It is a little bit pricey but honestly it spreads out so well and the way they formulated it you really don’t need a lot. A little does go along way. Have you guys tried this product what do you think?
my morning skincare routine ✨
so i want to start out by sharing some information about my skin. i have quite sensitive skin that tends to be on the dry side. i feel bad saying this, but my skin is mostly clear thanks to genetics. but, that doesn’t mean i don’t put the work in to keep my skin clear!! i’ve tried out quite a few different products, but these are the ones that i find myself reaching for more often in the morning. cleanser in the morning, i like to use a gentle, hydrating cleanser. lately i’ve been using the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser . it’s a nice cleanser, but i wouldn’t say it does much for my skin. more often than not though, i find myself coming back to the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , which is so gentle and especially good for my dryer days. it always leaves my skin feeling soft once i wash it off. toner for toner, i’ve really been loving the PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner . it’s nothing special, just a milky toner that does a lovely job of adding extra hydration to my skin. i’ve been trying to cut down on my daily waste, so that means i’ve stopped purchasing cotton rounds. to apply, i just put a few drops into my palms and press it into my skin. serum my go-to has always been the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 . again, dry skin!! i just really love products that hydrate my skin. i just put a few drops on my fingers and gently pat it in. recently i’m trying out the NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum. i haven’t used it long enough to see an effect, but i’ll definitely post an update if i notice some results!! moisturizer it’s taken me wayyyy longer than necessary to find a moisturizer that doesn’t give me a reaction. i’ve tried quite a few that left my face bright red and burning, and i also have an issue with texture. i absolutely hate the way that creams feel on my skin. maybe i’m in the minority on this, but i am just not down with thick, rich, moisturizers. i really do prefer ones that are more of a watery gel-type. for the past six months, i’ve been using the CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly , and i really like it!! it’s fragrance-free, which is always a huge plus, and it does a good job of hydrating my skin. i usually apply one to two pumps on my face and neck. sunscreen ah yes, the most important part of the routine. i’m incredibly sensitive to the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens, so i have to make sure i’m using a mineral sunscreen. for the past year or so, i’ve been using the tarte - Guard 30 Vegan Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 . it leaves a bit of a white cast if i don’t rub it in enough, but other than that, i like this!! it always adds a bit of glowiness to my skin, which i am always here for!! thank you so much for reading!! 💗

Tips for Retinoid-Induced Dryness! 💦
I recently began using prescribed Clindamycin gel and Tretinoin cream for my acne. I already had dry, sensitive skin so adding these products has amped up those issues. So how am I dealing with my dry, irritated skin? Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant This ointment is designed for dry, cracked, or irritated skin. It’s clinically proven to restore smooth, healthy skin. It contains petrolatum, which acts as a skin protectant. Other ingredients include: mineral oil, ceresin, lanolin alcohol, panthenol, glycerin, and bisabolol. I mainly use this ointment on my lips, but I occasionally use it under my eyes and inside my nose if they are extra dry. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration This cream aims to help hydrated, parched skin, as well as temporarily relieve minor irritation and itching due to eczema and other conditions. It is safe for sensitive skin, and does not contain parabens, harsh chemicals, or colorants. Its star ingredients include: colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, ceramides, and squalane. Unfortunately it does contain eucalyptus oil, but the small amount doesn’t irritate my skin. I use this cream as my AM moisturizer. It is deeply hydrating and absorbs into the skin easily. My skin feels so soft and smooth thanks to this cream. It soothes my skin after applying the clindamycin gel and reduces irritation. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ This sunscreen is perfect for dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and centella asiatica extract. With its 70% moisture base and 4 different types of essences, it works like a moisturizing cream. It provides SPF50+, PA++++ protection. I use this after the Ultra Repair Cream in the AM and then reapply 1-2 times throughout the day. It provides my skin with much-needed hydration and UV protection. It’s the perfect consistency and rubs onto my skin so easily, all without being sticky. It soothes and smoothes my skin! These are just some of the products that I use. My whole routine is aimed at hydrating my skin and reducing irritation. My AM routine includes: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner , PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum , Clindamycin gel, FAB Ultra Relief Cream, and Purito Centella Unscented Sunscreen. My PM routine includes the same products listed above minus the SPF and CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream for my moisturizer.

Looking to Add AHA to my Evening Routine
My skin is famously dry and sensitive. Like, any new product needs CAREFUL consideration and research, sometimes just rinsing my face with water can cause redness and irritation. Anything I do buy needs to be introduced slowly and just a little bit at a time. I used a chemical exfoliant once and it left my skin itching like crazy, red, and drier than the Sahara, so I’ve been a user of physical exfoliants my whole life. But recently I’ve been looking for something deeper to really reset my skin without irritation and burning. I included my current routine of products I’m currently using, and my face to give you a better idea of what my skin is like. Being a dry skin type, I’m always looking for hydration, so a one-two punch of exfoliation and hydration is ideal for me! Can you help a girl out? Leave and recommendations in the comments below!

My (Less Than Perfect) Morning Skincare Routine
First off, I love this gentle cleanser in the morning. It’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin. I’ve switched to a different cleanser for night just to help get the rest of my makeup off, but this is perfect for when I have sleepy skin. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I’m not in love with this vitamin C serum. Granted, I haven’t been using this for too long, but I’m concerned with how long the effects might last in the bottle. On a positive note, the smell reminds me of Froot Loops! DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum I do love this moisturizer! It’s great for any skin type, but especially great for people with dry skin. There’s no scent or fragrance to it and it’s not overly priced! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Honestly, I’ve used better sunscreens. With this, I need to wait a good 5-10 minutes after applying my moisturizer to apply this sunscreen. If I put it on too soon, it will pill up and roll off my skin, making my routine last much longer than it should. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 60 Face & Body Melt in Sunscreen Milk SPF 60 Any suggestions would be appreciated! 💖
LA ROCHE-POSAY -Anthelios 60 Face & Body Melt in Sunscreen Milk SPF 60
AM ROUTINE - summer 2020
SKIN TYPE - ☀️: combination/oily ❄️: normal/dry LOCATION - New York City STEP 1 - CLEANSE KIND OF GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover Full disclosure, I do think almost all micellar waters are created equal, and they would all get 5⭐️. If I did everything right the night before, all my skin needs in the morning is a swipe of this (AND a rinse!) to get my skin prepped for the rest of my AM routine. STEP 2 - SERUM(S) Glossier. - Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum This 5% vitamin c derivative is, like all Glossier serums, non-sticky, quickly absorbing, and ultra lightweight. It’s a very stable version of vitamin c and at a lower percent than others, which makes it great for sensitive skin or a vitamin c newbie. But for the price, you can get cheaper and stronger from other brands. —————————— Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum This is my ideal follow-up after vitamin c, and I use it all over my face. The hyaluronic comes in three different forms/molecular weights, so the hydrating effects are long-lasting as long as you seal it in properly. That being said, it’s an intro hyaluronic serum with a higher-than-average price tag. STEP 3 - MOISTURIZE bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer The texture of this is perfect for daytime if you crave watery moisture and already have multiple skincare steps. This is light but smooth, absorbs quickly, and the color just makes you feel like you’re smoothing thickly textured water directly on your skin! It smells deliciously clean in the jar, but doesn’t seem too strong, as it fades pretty quickly once applied. STEP 4 - SPF Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract The texture didn’t thrill me - though it absorbed very well (no white cast), it was a little heavy for my taste. doesn’t read greasy at all once applied. I can definitely see using this on my face for super sweaty days outside, but for now I’ll continue to use on my body only.

My skincare routine for DRY SKIN
So I have dry skin and it is a bit sensitive and I found that these products worked best for me. I apply it in such order 1) Cleanser 2) Toner 3) Serum/Booster 4) Moisturizer 5) Sunscreen (AM only) For the cleanser LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser I really enjoyed it. It did wonders for my dry skin. It has a creamy milky consistency that doesn’t lather ensuring that your skin isn’t overly stripped. I would also recommend this product if you have sensitive skin because it has 8 ingredients! For sensitive skin it is better to use less ingredients to ensure that your skin doesn’t get irritated. I would compare the consistency to CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. Next I use a toner. FARMACY - Deep Sweep The only reason I actually use it is because of the BHA. I found it to not be irritating and my skin didn’t have a tingling feeling either. Since I do have dry skin I don’t use it all over my face. I only use it on my chin for whiteheads and on my nose for blackheads. Another plus is that this toner is alcohol free! After that I use a serum/booster. VERSED - HYDRATION STATION Booster With HA This booster is really good and I didn’t find it to be sticky as others might say. It has a lightweight consistency and almost feels like there isn’t anything on your face. After I apply this booster my skin feels really soft and hydrated which is a must for dry skin. Hyaluronic acid offers those benefits. The moisturizer I use is the HONEST - The Daily Calm Lightweight Moisturizer When I found out that Honest Beauty came out with this formula I was impressed because they usually use fragrances (essential oils) in their products. I decided to give it a try because it is fragrance free. However, it had a noticeable scent to it that wasn’t pleasant. Yes it is fragrance free but it just has a noticeable “lotion” type smell that you can smell all day. Besides that one problem I have no complaints. (If you have moisturizer suggestions for dry skin please let me know) Finally I use sunscreen. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ This right here is one of the only sunscreens with zinc oxide that doesn’t leave a white cast. Sunscreen is an essential part of your skincare routine no matter what your skin tone is. You should definitely be using one especially if you exfoliate. It feels like there is nothing on your face. I definitely recommend this one!!
