BareMinerals New Ageless Collection Update
8 week update to the new #BareMinerals - Ageless Phyto-Retinol* Face Cream[products]# I really like this cream! I got this prior to its release and had the chance to use it for ~1 month prior to its release. I’ll start off by saying this—I’m 25 and I don’t have wrinkles, but I do have some fine lines forming on smile lines and my forehead. I definitely see this more so as preventative aging. By no means have my fine lines fully disappeared and now magically have baby skin. But with that said, I do see and feel a difference. I apply this only at night but my skin always looks great in the morning. It’s really hydrating, doesn’t break me out, and works great in my routine. The formula: This is a plant based formula that emulates retinol. This is what I love most about it. I tried The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalanebut it made my face super oily and I had to be extra careful if I was using AHAs or other exfoliaters. This cream instead soaks in so nicely and I’m able to do my usual routine without any issues (I haven’t had any reactions using this). The cream is white and thick, but it spreads nicely on the face. There is a floral scent in it which at first I felt was strong, but now I’m used to it and I like it. For a nice moisturizing and anti-aging cream I’ll likely repurchase this when I run out. It retails for $62 USD but I think it’s worth it! I use this in conjunction with the bareMinerals - Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serum(I apply this before my moisturizer, morning and night. It’s a great duo! Side note: They do have bareMinerals - Ageless Phyto-Retinol Neck Cream, bareMinerals - Ageless Phyto-Retinol Eye Cream, and bareMinerals - Ageless 10% Phyto-Retinol Night Concentrate— I haven’t tried any of these yet but they definitely interest me!

Hello & Any Advice? 🤍
Hi Y’all 🤍 This is my first post and I’ve been waiting to do this for awhile... ⭐️ I’m Maeve-Darly and I have Oily, Acne-Prone Skin. My main concerns are dark spots, hyperpigmentation, oil control, and pore size. ⭐️Currently, my morning routine consists of the products listed on the second page. I have bought a ton of products from the ordinary and had to make the choice to limit my products and keep my routine simple. I’m looking for a good toner if anyone has any recommendations and a good Vitamin C serum/product to add to my morning routine, as well! ⭐️Also, my night routine consists of the products listed on the third page. Again, I’m looking for a toner to add to my routine. Something that can brighten but I’m not really interested in a AHA/BHA exfoliating toner as I’ve heard that paired with Niacinamide on darker complexions it can have the reverse effect of brightening and clearing up hyper pigmentation. I’ve been using the mask from the Ordinary once a week on Fridays and it leaves my skin soft. ⭐️ I didn’t include this but I also occasionally use the innisfree - Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask in the mornings or nights when I feel I need it. It definitely does give my skin an open and clear feelings sometimes in my morning use but I don’t know if it’s really doing something or if my expectations are just too high. ⭐️If anyone has any suggestions for a good brightening and non-drying toner and/or a Vitamin C serum, please let me know in the comments? Also, do other oily acne-prone folks have any thoughts on the CeraVe products mentioned? I’d love to hear y’all’s thoughts! Thank you so much 🤍

BareMinerals Serum - So good that I repurchased
I loveeeeeeee this serum and it’s a staple in my routine now. The serum is milky in appearance with a really pleasant scent. I use 2 pumps to cover my whole face/down to my neck. It’s soaks in nicely and makes your skin look for hydrated and supple. This can apparently be used in foundation/concealer to help give a more natural finish but I haven’t tried it yet since I don’t wear any foundation at the moment. I use this twice a day, in the morning and at night just before I put on moisturizer. The first bottle I bought was 30ml/1.0 fl oz and it retailed for $42. For the repurchase I decided to get the largest size they have which is 100ml/3.3 fl oz and retails for $109. You save a bit of money by buying bigger, but I’d recommend getting this as a subscription or at Ulta when they have a prestige brand coupon. The smaller size lasted me almost 2 months, so this large one will likely last me around 7 months! It’s not cheap...but I do think it’s worth trying. It has niacinamide in it which is great for the skin and it help with fine lines. I feel that I’ve noticed a difference in my skin and any fine lines I felt I was getting look much more smooth. As a side note: I like that BareMinerals has a recycling program so any of their serum containers can be returned to their stores/other participating retailers. (This applies to some of their other containers too!) bareMinerals - Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serum
Finally creating an actual skincare routine
I’m somewhat new to skincare. For the longest time I had the clearest skin but after college I started to get hormonal acne and some skin texture issues. Morning: Cleanser- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin. I just got it a few days ago and so far I like it! Prior to this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (which I still keep in my shower for after working out-this cleans my skin well but isn’t anything crazy special) Next: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion - I really like this!! It’s absorbs quick and isn’t drying, often these types of products make my skin a little itchy but not this one! (I still use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator but I do this every other day in the evening, it makes my skin very sensitive but it does work well) Spot Treatment: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel - I’ve been using this for 2 weeks and I love it!! I notice a difference in any new breakouts, it stops them right in their tracks. Feels great too and soaks in nicely. Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - trusty product that I will always use. I’m now adding in bareMinerals - Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serumto help with my skin appearance and fine lines (~2 weeks of use and so far I like it, it’s hydrating and soaks into the skin. There’s a light scent that I don’t mind either) Moisturizer: CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+- using for 2 weeks and I really it! It’s gel based so it’s absorbs right into the skin. I don’t like heavy moisturizers because they make me oily, so this one is great! Keeps my skin happy even in the colder weather! Nighttime: Same cleanser as morning Same clarifying lotion/exfoliate as mentioned in morning, and same spot treatment Moisturizer: NEW unreleased bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Face Cream. I got a full size product for free during a featured event, I believe this will retail for around $62 and be released in the new year. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and my skin seems to be liking it! It’s a thicker cream so I prefer it only at night. There is a somewhat strong perfume-like scent which I don’t normally mind, but if I use my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator prior to the cream, it does make my skin a little tingly/itchy. I like that it’s a plant based “retinol” and is less harsh on the skin. Hoping this one works out! Other products: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane- Bought this prior to getting the bareMinerals Phyto-Retinol Cream. I haven’t tried it yet so no review. Not sure where to add this to my routine if/when I decide to use it. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum- I got this before my breakouts but haven’t used it since, might try to add
The Woes Of Dull Skin
Sick and tired of your dull skin and have no time to sleep? Want to party all night long and still look on point the next day? Numerous deadlines to meet and class at 9? Well, no problem! You can say goodbye to all your dull skin worries because we have the perfect solution for you. However, before we move forward with this review, I want to talk a little about my skin type. I have combination to oily skin, with more emphasis on oily. But, I don’t have any other skin condition, except for huge pores and an occasional pimple that pops up with my menstrual cycle. With that out of the way, I want to introduce you guys to two of my Holy Grail skincare products, which have helped me not only combat my oily skin but also fight dullness during my college days. Neutrogena Hydro-boost Water Gel. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel I am sure you are super tired of hearing about the power of moisturizing. But, we are going to blow its horn anyway. The first thing that helped my dehydrated and dull skin is the Neutrogena Hydro-boost Water Gel. The product is usually marketed for combination skin, but trust me, it is the best for oily skin. It is non-greasy and non-comedogenic, therefore, it hits all the right spots. The formula is light and perfect for everyday use or for using under making as well! The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The second product is by The Ordinary and I am absolutely in love with it. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% is one of the best serums to include in your PM routine. It is lightweight and retails for only $6 to $10. Let’s talk about the ingredients. The niacinamide is a magic product for controlling sebum production on your skin and fighting off the wrinkles. It is a brilliant anti-aging product and fights dullness by keeping the oil at bay. Niacinamide helps retain moisture and fights the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. All in all, it is a wholesome product, which is a must-have for all you oily girls out there. Let’s talk about how to incorporate the two products in your routine. Ideally, it is best to use the serum on a clean and dry face. However, if you are new to such products, then you should mix in two drops of the serum in your moisturizer and then put it on your face. It is all about building tolerance slowly and steadily. They have been a part of my routine for a little over two years and that is why I swear by them both!

This Combo Is Quite Disappointing😖😖...
I have combination-oily skin and whitening is my top priority all year round. I chose to follow a combination that is popular on the Internet: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%and Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream for Night. I have used this combination for around a month and the The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is already almost empty. It has a watery consistency but it's a little sticky when spreading it on the skin. It creates a very small amount of white foam but not an extremely gluey texture as some say online. I haven't seen see any obvious whitening, but my acne marks are significantly lighter. However, niacinamide is strong, so it's not recommended for sensitive skin. Those who try it out for the first time will need to build up skin tolerance beforehand.🧐 I personally think there's nothing special about the Neutrogena anti-wrinkle night cream because I have not see any obvious results. 🥱🥱It has a smooth creamy texture and spreads easily. However, I didn't see any anti-aging, wrinkle-reduction, or whitening results. It is just refreshing and spreads easily. I've used products containing retinol before, so it didn't irritate my skin, but if you haven't built up skin tolerance, you may experience some tingling. However, you can use the Avène Thermal Spring Water to ease any irritation. Have you used this combo? What is your favorite combo? 🤭Let me know!

🚨Expensive≠Effective! ThinkX2 if you want to buy La Prairie products
I have combination skin which is neither sensitive nor acne-prone. I don't have any acne scars but I do have some freckles. Anti-aging is my current skincare focus! I gritted my teeth and bought the La Prairie Skin Caviar series. After cleansing every night, I'd use its liquid lift serum, eye lift serum, luxe eye cream, and luxe cream in that order. Half a year has gone by and I've finished one and a half bottles of La Prairie liquid lift serum and almost a bottle of the eye lift serum but neither my eye lines nor neck lines have been reduced. La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Serum 50ml I use 2 pumps each time and apply it on my face and neck with a lifting massage every night. Half a year has gone by and I've finished one and a half bottles of this serum. Experience: My neck lines have not really lightened, but no new lines have appeared either. It also feels a little dry on the skin. I will definitely not repurchase it and will instead recommend the Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil and Guerlain's Double R Renew & Repair serum combo for combination or combination-dry skin. The combo is extremely moisturizing, allowing for smooth makeup application without caking. Its anti-wrinkle effect is no lesser than that of the La Prairie liquid lift serum! la prairie - Skin Caviar Eye Lift Serum la prairie - Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream The eye lift serum has a watery texture, while the eye cream has a thicker frosty texture. Apply the eye lift serum around the eyes, use the accompanying spatula to scoop a small amount of eye cream, then gently pat it on the skin around the eyes. Experience: They work well when used together! I tried using the eye cream alone before, but it doesn't spread easily itself, so it must be used together with the eye lift serum. Half a year has gone by and the fine line I have under one of my eyes hasn't really lightened, but eye cream does take more than just a few months to show effect. I won't repurchase it considering its value for money. Have you ever tried La Prairie products below? Are they your fav or meh?

Retinol with niacinamide
Hi everyone just a quick question do you guys think combining the Retinol and Niacinamide would be fine for a night routine since the niacinamide doesn’t go well with the vitamin c suspensions 23% + HA Spheres 2% on day time Please help appreciate any answers and suggestions Thanks 😊 The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% LA ROCHE-POSAY - Redermic R Anti-Aging Retinol Serum

Girl’s Night Necessities, PM Skincare Routine
Skin Type: Combination, oily T-zone If you ask me what I will definitely bring when I go to my girlfriend's house for the night, I will tell you three products. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, FRESH Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer With Multi-Action Super Lotus, and LA MER The Eye Concentrate. Besides that, they are also my favorite products for a normal night skincare routine STEP ONE After removing makeup and face washing, all of my pores are open. It’s the best time to apply essence，because all of the functional ingredients can be absorbed easily. I like using The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. A serum with a high concentration of Niacinamide to lighten blemishes on the skin. Niacinamide also has general anti-aging benefits, and it's also proven to be effective in brightening. No UV damage at night, skin can be better repaired and brightened. Its smell is not good, if you are sensitive to scent, many it’s not a good choice. But it really works and affordable. STEP TWO Still FRESH Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer With Multi-Action Super Lotus, you may have seen this face cream in my other post. I like its lightweight texture, easy to apply. It just soaks in my skin immediately, as you can see from my picture. All of its ingredients are natural and pure. I trust FRESH because I have fallen in love with its products. I will talk about its face mask in my future posts. STEP THREE The last step is eye cream. I know that once fine lines and wrinkles are formed, they cannot be removed except for medical surgery. That’s the reason why I would like to invest money in eye cream. MY choice is LA MER The Eye Concentrate. It claims that it is a hydrating eye cream that rapidly reduces the appearance of dark circles, smooths the look of lines and wrinkles, and prevents further damage in 21 days. I haven't seen a noticeable change of it. But it keeps my eye in good condition indeed. This routine is a right choice for pm skincare for now. I will keep looking for other excellent products. Keep following~

Updated Nighttime Skin Care
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This product has really been a game changer for my skin. I use it once a week to help the dryness and dullness of my skin. It does tingle a bit on my skin, although I leave it on for 5 minutes instead of the recommendation 10 minutes. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ve never been one to use eye creams because I feel like they are just a glorified moisturizer, doing the same thing a moisturizer would do to the rest of the face. This product has completely change my opinion. It banishes my dark circles and de puffs my eyes. I use this product twice a day. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I’ve always been afraid of any type of acid on my face because my skin can get very dry. Hyaluronic acid was recommended to hydrate my skin and I’m very glad I used this product. It has changed the dryness of my skin. fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This is the first nighttime moisturizer I’ve used that doesn’t make my face greasy, which is why I will continue to use this product and purchase it over and over again. up&up - Max. Strength Acne Medication I don’t get acne very often on my face so I don’t want to spend a lot on an acne spot treatment. This one is ok, it sometimes takes a couple days to a week to use and if it’s overused in one area it can dry the skin. However for the amount of times I use it this product gets the job done at a price I can afford. In short, I love the brand Fresh and will always use their products. I have fallen in love with The Ordinary and will continue to use their products. I have finally found a combination that works for my dry/combination skin and will use it for as long as it works on my skin.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
