Clinique Acne Products That Are Worth Buying!
Part 3 of my skincare routine posts! This one is all about the Clinique products I use. I’m fully convinced these products have stopped/limited any acne. ✨CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion
Dec. 29, 2020
Finally creating an actual skincare routine
I’m somewhat new to skincare. For the longest time I had the clearest skin but after college I started to get hormonal acne and some skin texture issues. Morning: Cleanser- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin. I just got it a few days ago and so far I like it! Prior to this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (which I still keep in my shower for after working out-this cleans my skin well but isn’t anything crazy special) Next: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion - I really like this!! It’s absorbs quick and isn’t drying, often these types of products make my skin a little itchy but not this one! (I still use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator but I do this every other day in the evening, it makes my skin very sensitive but it does work well) Spot Treatment: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel - I’ve been using this for 2 weeks and I love it!! I notice a difference in any new breakouts, it stops them right in their tracks. Feels great too and soaks in nicely. Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - trusty product that I will always use. I’m now adding in bareMinerals - Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serumto help with my skin appearance and fine lines (~2 weeks of use and so far I like it, it’s hydrating and soaks into the skin. There’s a light scent that I don’t mind either) Moisturizer: CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+- using for 2 weeks and I really it! It’s gel based so it’s absorbs right into the skin. I don’t like heavy moisturizers because they make me oily, so this one is great! Keeps my skin happy even in the colder weather! Nighttime: Same cleanser as morning Same clarifying lotion/exfoliate as mentioned in morning, and same spot treatment Moisturizer: NEW unreleased bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Face Cream. I got a full size product for free during a featured event, I believe this will retail for around $62 and be released in the new year. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and my skin seems to be liking it! It’s a thicker cream so I prefer it only at night. There is a somewhat strong perfume-like scent which I don’t normally mind, but if I use my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator prior to the cream, it does make my skin a little tingly/itchy. I like that it’s a plant based “retinol” and is less harsh on the skin. Hoping this one works out! Other products: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane- Bought this prior to getting the bareMinerals Phyto-Retinol Cream. I haven’t tried it yet so no review. Not sure where to add this to my routine if/when I decide to use it. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum- I got this before my breakouts but haven’t used it since, might try to add
Pubescent Teen Alert!
Hello! My name is Zoey and I need some help with finding a proper skincare routine. I’m a pubescent teen and my skin is getting pretty tough these days. From hairline acne to blackheads on my chin. I’m wondering if anyone can help me get started on this app? To be honest I’m not sure what I’m doing😅 The only acne related product I use is the CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion. I got it from my roommate and since then it’s worked decently. Is anybody able to give me some tips or suggestions? I have semi sensitive skin and I’d like to have control over my acne before it gets any worse. Thank you!😊
Best Acne Treatment!
I have very acne prone skin and I frequently struggle to get it under control. This is by far the most effective treatment I have ever used for active acne spots. CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel If I could only use one acne treatment for the rest of my life it would be this one! It contains salicylic acid to clear blemishes and can be used as a spot treatment or, if you have acne covering a larger area, you can use a thin layer all over your face. It does have some ingredients that can cause your skin to be dry or irritated if it is over used, but it wouldn’t be an acne treatment without them and it shouldn’t cause any issues if you only use it on acne spots. I’ve seriously never had an issue with this. If you have tried this product or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!
Review of Clinique’s clearing gel
I’ve decided to do a multi-part post where I review and breakdown the products in my everyday skincare routine (see first post for routine). This is Part 1! The spot treatment I’ve been using is CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel This has been a true game changer, especially with my hormonal acne. I bought this through Ulta when they had a special sale on Clinique products. I will admit when I purchased this I didn’t look at the size. It’s SMALL, like fits in my palm, mini, little bottle and it’s not necessarily cheap. But since I got it on “sale” I decided to still try it. I actually love the formulation and don’t mind the small packaging now (super easily to travel with!!), you also only need a very small amount. It’s a clear gel liquid that dries fast. I apply it only to problem areas (cheeks, jaw, upper forehead)/any new arising acne. I apply this after cleansing and use it in my my morning and night routine. It has a mild tingly/tight sensation when the skin is first soaking it in, but it isn’t uncomfortable at all. There’s a slight shine left on the skin after soaking in, but I apply my serums and moisturizer after this so it goes away. Since using this in addition to my usual routine my breakouts are super minimal and can be quickly and easily stopped in their tracks. I was getting terrible hormonal acne on my cheeks and jaw but I haven’t since using this! I 100% recommend to anyone looking for a better spot treatment. It’s well worth it! **Previously I used MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion this stuff worked ok at first but I’d have to apply it every night and it would get on my pillow and really dry out my skin/make me itchy. Eventually I felt it was only drying my skin out and no longer providing any benefits.
Using Clinique for 7 Years 😱💛
Okay so I’ve been using Clinique products since I was in high school... now these were my holy grail and helped me keep my skin relatively clear! I recently just ran out of my last moisturizer and I’ve decided not to repurchase, and I’ll tell you why 🙃 I’m not a huge fan of the ingredient list, with multiple comedogenic and fungal acne causing ingredients it’s a no I don’t need a product this rich and creamy all year round I don’t like how the container exposes the product to air as you use it, it makes me concerned w the longevity The packaging makes it so that you can never actually get all of the product out when you’re getting near the end I know they’ve changed a lot of their formulas, but has anyone tried the new gel moisturizers and liked them??
Helppp. Need advice
Helpppp. I’ve been trying to switch to more eco friendly and less chemical/carcinogen based skincare. My face is breaking out so badly from masks and just generally being alive 😂😂😂. My face was clearest when I was using: Cerave sensitive cleanser or Clinique face wash Clinique toner 2.0 Philosophy essence Clinique hydrating gel (yellow lotion) No7 serum Clinique moisture surge moisturizer Clinique or no7 eye cream (alternated day and night) Clinique isn’t the most eco friendly so I’ve been trying to get away from that. I can’t do cureology because they don’t ship to my state. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. Currently I’m using Clinique pep start cleanser or Alba botanicals rose cleanser Good molecules niacinamide toner or aha/bha toner Same essence Clinique hydrating/clearing jelly with the surface focusing cartridge Good molecules niacinamide and aha serums No7 or Clinique eye creams Clinique Moisture surge Something has got to give. I hate to go back to that old routine but I guess I can. Just figured someone would have some advice. Not wanting to break the bank. CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Clearing Jelly CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel CLINIQUE - Endless Glow Moisture Surge Set philosophy - Purity Made Simple Hydra-Essence with Coconut Water N°7 - Lift & Luminate Triple Action Eye Cream

Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
Happy & Hydrated
Hi Skin Beauties, So this is me today with zero makeup on with the natural outside lighting! I was struggling with hyperpigmentation for the last year so I wanted to share this picture to let you know it is possible to diminish the intensity of the dark spots with consistency and the right products! Facials as well as additional treatments always accelerate the process but products are important. Products make progress ! I still have a slight discoloration to my skin but patience is key with this type of skin issue so you have to trust the process. My two favorite products i use that help make my skin even toned are skinceuticals CE Ferulic Acid and skinceuticals Retinol 1.0(I use this product sparingly once every week or once every two weeks it is so strong yet so effective). The only product I have on my face in this picture is the hydroboost gel moisturizer by neutrogena. I am really not a fan of gel moisturizers but this one effectively penetrates the skin barrier leaving my skin feeling hydrated and soft, it fully absorbs into the skin leaving no residue behind. I also like this product due to its lack of fragrance and oil. I wear SPF 50 everyday by skinceuticals as well. I enjoy the slight tint it brings to my skin. Remember don’t give up on your skin goals and stay consistent!! 🦋🦋
How they get you to spend more 💰
Hey there! So when I started my skincare journey I was a Clinique skincare line junkie. I loved the idea of having a customized routine that I could build based on my skin concerns! But I recognized that I was going through the product a lot faster than I should've been.. A few years later I've swapped my routine and done extensive skincare research and I realized that these brands often tell you to WAY MORE than you need to! They tell you to use retinols, AHAs, and masks EVERYDAY in order to see results, but in reality most of these products need to be used once or twice a week. They also suggest using multiple pumps of product to slather it all on, when maybe you need a pea sized amount. A lot of these products are also formulated to counteract what the other ones do. What I mean by this is they makeup for the shortfalls of eachother. Take this Clinique line for example: the facewash didn't get all of my makeup off and left my skin dry the toner then got at the makeup that was often leftover and made my skin even drier the moisturizer then moisturized my skin but often led to clogging my pores, causing me to wash my face more Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't use full skincare lines, but just be conscious of the active ingredients and how often and in what quantities you should be using them. Do your research and save your hard earned money 💰💚
new moisturizing skincare 💖
I just recently added 2 new products to my skincare routine and I wanted to let everyone know how it’s going and hear anyone else’s experiences with these products :) I just picked up the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser a couple days ago to replace my Palmer’s oil cleanser to remove my makeup before going in with the Cerave hydrating cleanser. I really love how well it removes my makeup before going in with a cleanser, but it is slightly fragranced, so it definitely burns around the eyes. The other product I got (since I am always looking to try new moisturizers) is the GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer . THIS PRODUCT. Absolutely. amazing. My skin is extremely dry right now from Accutane, so by the end of the day it is peeling like crazy. It is such a nice consistency and I don’t have a problem using this AM and PM. It does not cause any irritation as it has no fragrance — which I prefer it not to, and it doesn’t sting at all! I’m finding with a lot of even the most gentle moisturizers will make my skin burn or sting just from how sensitive it is right now. I would love to hear any thoughts on these products and anything I should try! 🤍

*2 products that have saved my face*
there are so many face cleansers and moisturizers that make my face extremely dry or do not do anything to help. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion have •SAVED MY FACE• Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is for all skin types. It is a face and body wash but I only use it for my face. The face wash cleanses without any irritation; and it maintains the skin’s natural protective oils and natural pH to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin as it cleans. it is gentle enough for baby’s delicate skin. It has gotten rid of all if not all than 95% of pimples or annoying little areas that are on my face. mainly on my Fore-head and chin area (but it has helped all over my face.) It cleanses my face very well and makes my face soft and smooth. I do not regret this purchase. It was really worth the money. *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser* ♥︎It can be used with or without water ♥︎With water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; then rinse. 🌸 ♥︎Without water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; and remove with a dry cloth. 💫 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer. It helps hydrate and does an amazing job protecting your sensitive skin. It absorbs easily and fast and leaves your skin very soft. I have tried many face moisturizers that either made my face more dry, or gave me pimples. I have been using the two of these products for a couple of months now and all I have seen were amazing results. Highly recommended! *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion* ♥︎Non-irritating-Non-comedogenic-Fragrance and paraben free. ♥︎Best applies after you are done bathing while your skin is still damp. ♥︎Protects skin for up to 48 hours 💗 ♥︎i would also highly recommend storing the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a mini makeup/skincare fridge because it can/may get a little liquidy but NOT watery :) everyone’s skin is different so your skin may react different to these products. I do know that it is very good for sensitive skin. You can use these products even if you do not have sensitive skin!! ☺️

Nightly products must have!
So I have started using Tula way before the hype on instagram. I just started using the Clinique All About the Eyes and this is a travel size. I also just added Neutrogena Acne Stress Control to my nightly routine. Well here is my nightly skincare routine as of right now in order 1. TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser 2. Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control, Power-Cream Wash 3. TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner 4. CLINIQUE - All About Eyes 5. TULA SKINCARE - 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream So what got me started on Tula and loving it?!It would be the pro-glycolic 10% resurfacing toner! I loved that product since day one. I tired many toners in the past all which were watery and just full of alcohol and left e with drier skin. This does not do that it still leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I do love the cleanser as an over all general every day cleanser. I do love the moisturizer too, but right now my skin is oily sooo I wish I had something not so thick but it works good and is the only one I have found to work on me when my skin is extra dry. Why 2 cleanser? The past month I have had bad ance. I don’t know if it is increase use of mask, just this summer, or just hormones in general. I just do one cleanser in the morning but I am really trying to add in just one more extra step. I will let you know later if this extra step has worked for me or not. Why no oils or serums? I do want to try oils and serums but not sure which ones to try just yet. If you have suggestions please drop a comment and let me know your favorites so I can add them in my routine.
TULA SKINCARE-24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream
These are my favorite skin car products🥰🥰
CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin this worked so well on my skin I love it CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 this is really nice because it has spf in it to protect your skin from the sun and it work very well CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion this is for the night and really works well on my skin MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion works really well sometimes on smaller/less noticeable pimples it doesn’t work but on more inflamed pimples work really well to bring them down and eventually they go away

My Go-To Lazy Day Routine!
Everybody suffers from extreme laziness now and then. On such days, you are way too tired to even get up and wash your face, let alone do an elaborate skincare routine. I am the same. Some days I am so exhausted from work and never-ending chores that all I want to do at night is go to bed. However, my skin suffered majorly due to this. Therefore, I decided to come up with a small 3 step – cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize – routine for such days using all the products that I already had at home. Now before I divulge into it, let me put up a fair disclaimer. I have combination to oily skin, with more emphasis on oily. I have no such skin conditions except for extra-large pores and occasional acne with my menstrual cycle. Alright so the first step in my routine is double cleansing and I cannot ignore it for the life of me. Do you know why? I travel for almost two hours daily and there is a lot of dirt and build upon my face by the end of the day. The Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel Face Wash BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original NATURE REPUBLIC - Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser I use The Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm for the first step and follow up with the Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel Face Wash (picture below). Both products are excellent for oily skin and they do a great job of making your skin squeaky clean. I cannot endorse this cleansing balm enough, legit a Holy Grail product for me. It melts my makeup like witchcraft and leaves my skin without even a trace of it. Safe to say, I am obsessed with it! Loreal exfoliate cleanser L'ORÉAL - Pure Clay Cleanser Exfoliate & Refine The next step is exfoliation. No fancy product used here, just the good old Loreal exfoliate cleanser for a quick massage. When I am feeling extra lazy, I just skip the second part of double cleansing and go on with this product after the cleansing balm. Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Lastly, I go on with my trusted Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel and call it a day. I know all of these steps are extremely simple and beginner level. But honestly, that was what I was aiming for with this simple routine. It keeps my skin healthy and saves me from the trouble of going through with my normal routine. Don’t get me wrong I love that one as well, but this one is also equally good! I highly recommend you all to set up a three-step routine for such days and try this one out!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
