Easy Makeup Routine and Milk Makeup Review

HaleySki
In the past 2 years I’ve made my makeup much more minimal and natural (not to say I don’t go all out for special events though!). Here’s my go to products! PS: I buy most things in mini because they go bad before I’d even come close to finishing them in full size! Plus it’s more travel friendly. ⭐️Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek
I have this in the color Werk. I LOVE IT, the color is great and it’s buildable. The reason for 4 stars is that I wish it was a little softer to blend and the smell is not great. TIP: Buy the mini versions! You’ll never get through a large one before it expires/goes bad. ⭐️Milk MAKEUP - Matte Bronzer
I believe this comes in one color but it’s great for warming up the face a little. I apply it on my cheek bones, forehead, and sometimes my jawline/sides of nose. I often use this on my eyelids too for a monochromatic look. 4 stars for same reason as the one above. —Both of these products are easy to use and are super travel friendly. You just need your finger tips to apply! 💩Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara
I wanted to love this but after 2 failed tries, I just can’t. I bought the full size version when it first came out but after applying/drying, small black flecks would fall off my lashes onto my face/eyes. Recently I got the mini version for redemption but I still run into the same issues as well as it reactivating and becoming wet due to condensation from my face mask. This guy is just a no go. ⭐️URBAN DECAY - Perversion Mascara
My new favorite mascara is this one! It makes my lashes look great and I haven’t had any issues with it! Totally recommend and it builds up nicely in 2-3 coats without making lashes clumpy. ⭐️KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - KVD VEGAN BEAUTY Tattoo Liner
No other liner can compare. The brush on this makes the cleanest lines and it lasts all day. My only issue is how shiny it dries down to, I just wish it was more matte! 💩ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Gel
It’s too thick and easily becomes clumpy. It looks heavy on the brow hairs and has a chalky finish. For some reason it’s incredibly difficult to take off with makeup remover, I feel like I’m scrubbing my brows off. Stick to Anastasia’s other brow products and pass on this one. I’m considering Glossier’s boy brow. My brows are blondish and not thick so open to recommendations too 😂 These few products make for a quick and easy natural look! I’m still on he hunt for a brow product and highlighter though! Would love to hear anyone else’s natural look favorites!

I purchased this from Ulta and I love the way it fills my brows in with a tint. Gives the brows a fuller appearance and a natural look . Would recommend to anyone who like a natural look ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Gel

Watch me “glow” up! ✨*BROWS EDITION*✨
Today I scrolled through my old photos, wondering why in the WORLD nobody told me back then that my brows just weren’t cutting it 🥴 I was a teen in the era of the “instagram brow” all boxy in its glory, praising the the ABH Dipbrow pomade (You can admit this was a phase for you too, this is a safe space 😬) Along with my many hair colors, brows were a major change for me throughout high school and my first couple years of college. I always felt they needed to be the boldest past of my face, and 20x darker than my actual hair color. Not sure why exactly, but I just remember each morning before getting ready for school, outlining my teeny tiny eyebrows with GIANT caterpillar like boxes, then completely filling it in... no fade... nothing... just one whole color. I would even sleep with the brow makeup on 90% of the time 🤢 Eventually I learned that my brows didn’t have to be located on opposite sides of the equator, as seen in the second photo, so, naturally, the only valid way to fix this was to nearly frida kahlo it and draw them as close as possible together. I really cringe at those photos the most, but at least I was finally learning more about B L E N D I N G and S H A D I N G my brows for once 😪 Lastly, after many years of BROWS and nothing else, I decided it was time to retire the ABH. A say day for sure, but also a big step towards embracing my natural brows and features. The times when I would wear excessive brow makeup, I started to become so dependent on it, and I could hardly stand seeing myself without it on, hence why I literally SLEPT in them like that... But here I am today, and I have completely embraced my minimalist brows and makeup in general. I think once I really got into skincare, the desire for makeup, personally, went away for me. When I wore makeup on the daily, I suffered so many skin complications and I was just ready for a change. I’m absolutely not trying to preach the little to no makeup lifestyle, as I still LOVE playing around with it here and there! But reducing my makeup routine to little to nothing at all dramatically changed my skin, and I am SUPER thankful for that! And for those curious, here’s how my brow product evolution went⬇️ I went from ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade to ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Gel then Glossier. - Boy Browto essence - Lash & Brow Gel Mascaraand now I simply do the soap brow technique, using a spoolie and Pears EST.1807 - Pure & Gentle Soap With Natural Oils :)

Indie Brand Spotlight: Lunar Beauty 🌙
Hello beautiful! I’ve been on an indie brand train lately. I have been loving Glamlite cosmetics and today I played with my new Lunar Beauty Moon Spell palette and my Moon Prism highlighter in Jupiter. For those who don’t know, Lunar Beauty is a brand created by MannyMUA. MannyMUA is a YouTuber who is known for being the one of the first men in the YouTube beauty community. The moon spell palette caught my eye and I bit the bullet and purchase it 😬 I love the packaging! It literally looks like a book and the shade names are all the witches from pop culture. Since that Christmas is around the corner, I decided to do a muted green eyeshadow look using this palette and pair it with a classic red lip. The mattes in this palette performed well. They blended easily and were pigmented. They were no fall outs at all. However, I found the shimmer shades a little too dry and underwhelming. They swatched pretty nicely, but I had to layer it on a couple times on my lids. I have to try this palette a few more times because I only used a few of the shimmer shades. Maybe some perform well better than others? This palette retails for $48 USD and contains 15 shades. I don’t think that is too pricy considering you’re getting 15 shades. One of the reasons why I bought this palette because I wanted to support MannyMUA. If it wasn’t Manny’s brand I think I would have passed. Anyway, packaging passed the vibe check and so did the performance of the eyeshadows. If you want to support Manny, I say go for it, but I think these shades can be easily duped. LUNAR BEAUTY - Moon Spell Color Palette To achieve this look, I used: •Bonnie on the crease and lower lash •Marnie on the outer V and lower lash •Mary on the lids •Fiona on the lower lids •Prue on the inner corner. I LOVE this shade. It’s a purple and pink duo chrome. It doesn’t really show up in the photos, but it’s such a great pop of color •KVD vegan beauty tattoo liner in mad brown KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - KVD VEGAN BEAUTY Tattoo Liner •HoL in Natalia Lite HOUSE of LASHES - Natalia Lite •Lips are from Glamlite holiday foodie box and it is in shade red velvet. What is your favorite indie brand? Xoxo, Francesca 💋

Another Marshall’s Haul
Before the snow hit in the north east, I had to hit up Marshall’s so I had some new products to play with. This shopping trip I found makeup products from Becca and Milk to try out. As with any trip to Marshall’s it’s hit or miss with products and shade ranges, so I know this foundation is a bit too light, but the undertone was right. There were also a few other things I wanted, but their packaging was open and the products were clearly touched. So let’s dive in to what I used for this look (3rd pic, I don’t use any filters/beauty mode). Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick I like the powdery finish it leaves on my skin. I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide how much I like it. BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation I’m generally not a fan of full coverage foundation. But this does not feel heavy or caking on my skin (yes, it’s a shade too light). I applied it pretty lightly, but you can easily build this up to you preferred coverage level. BECCA - Limited Edition Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder I was pleasantly surprised by this powder. I usually only use powder lightly under my eyes o set my concealer, but this was so light that I used it all over my face. It did not settle into my fine lines or make me look dry (aging skin). I applied with a velour puff and used a fluffy brush to remove the excess. Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek I’m a big fan of cream products and the fact that this does double duty, lips and cheeks, makes it a winner in my book. Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara I’ve been dying to try this mascara (if you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know I’m on an unending hunt for the perfect mascara). But I couldn’t justify the price tag if it was just going to end up in the “meh” pile of mascaras I already have. It gave a great first impression, but I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide to invest in a full sized tube. For under $40, I got to try some high end products that are usually out of my budget. I love Marshall’s for exactly this reason! What is your favorite Marshall’s find?

Miniature Milk Makeup haul
Milk Makeup is a brand I’ve been dying to try. But it is not in my budget. So when I got my hands on these mini products for under $20, I couldn’t wait to play with them!! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer after one use, I like it, but it’s something that I’ll have to use all of before I decide for sure. Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick easy to apply. Didn’t have to use my fingers. Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek love!! I enjoy a cream blush, and the fact that it does double duty as a lip gloss is even better. Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara this is the product that I’ve been most excited to try. The brush is quite large and it applies the mascara nicely without clumping. What’s your favorite Milk product?

Testing Hyped Products: Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out
FENTY BEAUTY - Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer I finally gave in and decided to try this bronzer from Fenty Beauty (only after my ride or die Milk MAKEUP - Matte Bronzer started to cause breakouts 😭) The first couple times I tried this, I found it to be stiff and not the easiest to blend out. I prefer to use a brush rather than a sponge to blend and my trick for easier application is to warm the product up either by lightly swirling your fingers over the pan or -this sounds weird but works- using your blow dryer for a few seconds to warm it up! Then I use a brush to work it in. It’s very natural and works great on minimal makeup days but it can also be built up!! Because my skin tone is light, I prefer the more neutral tone of the Fenty, bronzer over the warmer tone of the MILK bronzer, but I would say the MILK formulation is a bit easier to work with overall!

fake that bone structure
🌊 If you have a naturally round face like me, cheekbones and jawlines are hard to come by. but thats what contour and highlight are for. The goal is to create DEPTH using LIGHT (highlighter) and SHADOW (bronzer). read to the end for a special trick. 🌊 my secret is using both cream and powder bronzer to carve out my face. Why? I have oily skin, so cream won’t last the whole day, but using powder on top makes it last. It’s like setting your contour! 🌊 How i Do it Milk MAKEUP - Matte Bronzer Step one of contour, after foundation and concealer. Follow the hollows of your cheeks, along the jaw, and at the too of the forehead to make it seem smaller. Blend it out for the more natural cheekbone. be sure to check the jaw line benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer Step two of contour, after the cream. I make a little line with the Caramel color, then blend it out as much as possible. The other bronzer places are set with Milk Blur. Hoola is easily the best bronzer on the market if you like matte finishes — its blendable as heck! Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder Hit the T zone and below the bronzer. Bake at 98.6 for 10 minutes. This has been my favorite powder for 2+ years — great for oily skin and has a shade range! THE BEAUTY CROP - Glow Milk Dropper Liquid Highlighter Highlight! i use a tiny drop on the top of my cheekbone. this liquid highlighter is SO blendable my specialty SEPHORA COLLECTION - Eyeliner Pencil to Go i use this on the very tip of my nose, just a dot that is only half blended out. the result is a nose that looks like it’s shiny and catching the light. its just an illusion.

That Red Lip Classic Thing that You Like 💄
Forgive my T Swift quoting but I was watching her concert special on Netflix last night and I was inspired to do a red lip look! I don’t do lipstick very much at all recently since I’m always in a mask, and I really miss it sometimes. tarte - Sea Color Splash Lipstick in open bar is no longer available from sephora but you can still purchase it from the tarte website! I received this shade in my tarte custom kit a while ago and this is the first time I even put it on! The shade is advertised as a strawberry shimmer, but I would say it’s a nice reddish-pink with a gorgeous sparkle to it. It’s a very hydrating and creamy shade, it doesn’t dry down at all, so I wouldn’t expect a lot of wear from it, but the sparkle is amazing! The packaging is just gorgeous too, a beautiful gold and marble blue tube really compliments the glistening red shade. This is a really pretty take on a red lipstick! And of course, bonus points for being vegan and cruelty-free! Other makeup in this look: tarte - Sugar Rush Sparkler Shadow Stick in rose gold NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer in créme bruleè FENTY BEAUTY - Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner URBAN DECAY - Perversion Mascara

Mascara mistakes I used to make!
I made this mascara mistake more than a decade ago and I’ve since stuck to my discovery! If the eyelash look you’re going for it thick, black, long, voluminous eyelashes then keep on reading. That is always my goal. I never want light little barley there lashes, like the bigger the better! For me the best way to get there without extensions or false lashes is to LAYER MASCARAS! Your life will be changed. As you can see in the first photo this is a full coat of just URBAN DECAY - Perversion Mascara and while my lashes look OK, they’re nothing to write home about. In the last two photos you can see a noticeable difference in the length, thickness and fullness of the lashes overall and it’s such a simple thing to do. Start with an older mascara. Something not brand new that actually sticks to the lashes when you glide it on. Let that sit for a few seconds and then go in for more coats with a DIFFERENT mascara. I like this tarte - Maneater Mascara because it has a hard bristle brush and it works great to lift and separate the lashes while also providing more length and volume in the process. One question I’m repeatedly asked at work by my patients is “ what mascara do you use?!” I always tell them the mascaras I use but I make sure to tell them thick trick that you have to layer! I hope you take this trick, apply it, and get out there with your sexy lashes!

I Express COURAGE With Beauty
I Express COURAGE With Beauty
I first fell in love with makeup and beauty when I was in 6th grade at my middle school. A friend of mine was a true goth and always was covered head to toe in black, safety pins, and heavy metal band patches. She always had these mesmerizing big black Smokey eyes that she painted on every morning at her locker. I being a closeted trans pre-teen always wanted to explore the world of makeup and beauty but was too afraid to try because of the bullying I would inevitably receive. I had this burning desire to let my true identity shine; to be the girl I knew I was, and for me I knew makeup could allow me to do that. One day I mustered up the courage to ask my friend if I could try her Hot Topic black eyeliner, not only did she give it to me without hesitation but she encouraged me! For me putting on that black eyeliner felt so liberating. The bullying got worse of course but I didn't care because that eyeliner became my war paint. Every day I would go to my friends locker and play with her makeup before class, taking it off after school so my parents wouldn't see. As the years went on makeup became my secret impenetrable armor, I got better, I learned new skills, and acquired new products. Even though people were so cruel and harsh, so judgmental towards me for wearing makeup, it never stoped me. My Armor of foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and blush kept me going and kept me confident. Makeup made me fearless and courageous, it stopped me from caring what other people thought of me, because I felt beautiful within myself. Makeup allowed me to see the girl trapped inside begging to get out. milani vs glossier 🖊 liquid eyeliner comparison
milani vs glossier 🖊 liquid eyeliner comparison
i am not super skilled with liquid liner, but it’s on my list of things to master. i have been looking for a great, dark black liquid eyeliner. i much prefer the MILANI - Stay Put Matte Liquid Eyeliner to the Glossier. - Pro Tip Brush Point Liquid Eyeliner . the milani product is darker with an easier-to-apply tip. i know that some people love the glossier product, but i have found it that it bends too easily for a good application. if you have a really steady hand and don’t want the blackest black color, you might consider it. the milani product is $8 at ulta and target, and the glossier product is $16 on their website.

i love a brightly colored eyeliner for days when i want to do a little something fun but don’t want to make too much effort. i purchased this Glossier. - Colorslide Technogel Eye Pencil in ‘adult swim’ at the glossier atlanta pop-up and i’m so glad that i did! this eyeliner glides on gently and really doesn’t budge (i have to use a cleansing balm to take it off). they also have really fun colors - i also have the baby blue shade ‘early girl,’ although i don’t find myself reaching for that as often. i would definitely repurchase this!

How cute is this refillable water bottle! I bought 2 of them, one for me and one for my mom. I fill this bottle up to the top which is almost 20 oz. it’s great to use on hikes or just walking around. It’s better for the earth to use refillable bottles plus you can look cute while doing it too. I wish they made bigger sizes of this too. I’ve used the lash stick and I love the wand. Some mascaras have so much product when trying to apply, I’d have to use a tissue to wipe some off and that’s such a waste. This mascara is the opposite, it has enough on the wand to make your lashes look super long and full of volume. Definitely worth it to me Glossier. - Lash Slick Mascara Skywash in the shade “pool”. It’s a really light pastel blue. A few months ago before all glossier stores closed I swatched all of the skywash and I really liked them. They’re pretty sheer so don’t expect too much color. It’s easy to apply and to make it last longer I use an eyeshadow base. Glossier. - Skywash Colorslide eye pencil in the shade “stable relationship”. It’s a moss green. I LOVE green eyeliners/pencils. They’re such a beautiful color and look great on ever eye color. Green is a staple in my everyday look. This pencil glides on really well and lasts all day. I used colorslide in nectar and skywash in terra The colorslide nice pigmentation and runs smoothly on my eyelid without primer, just prep my skin with moisturizer The skywash I had to layer it up because is a sheer pigment and I was afraid it would crack (it did, just a little) Overall I loved the results 🌈✨
