Why I love lactic acid?
I’ve had acne for the majority of my life, and my skin turns extremely sensitive when seasons change—poor me. So I have to choose the right ingredients and products to get rid of acne while not damaging my skin. Life is so hard.😭😭 My friends always recommend products with acid to kill acne. But I never give it a go because I feel it’ll be terrible for my sensitive skin. Until last month, my friend gave me a small sample of REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, told me it’s sensitive skin-friendly cuz the lactic acid inside works mildly to kill the acne and smooth skin. It sounds good, and why not have a try? It can’t be worse for me if it doesn’t work like others. 🤷🏼♀️ I did feel burning on my face when I first used this mask, and I felt so worried the nightmare came again! Guess what! It didn’t damage my skin. The magic came after washing off the mask, my skin looked super bright and shining, and my pores were gone! Huge surprises!!! Yeaaa! I can’t tell you how much I love using this mask. Today, I can proudly tell you, I seldom have acne, and my sensitive skin is well protected!! I’ve dreamed of this for so long. There is no doubt that lactic acid has become one of my favorite skincare ingredients. If you have the same problem as me, REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal MaskIS WHAT YOU NEED! I strongly recommend it!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank me later, ladies.

Newbie Skincare Routine! Any advice?
So, i've recently had an awakening when i realized that i was slowly (yet, quickly) approaching my 30s (turning 27 in October). Figured, now is a good time to start taking care of my skin and tbh, just had my two kids and it'll feel nice to pamper myself now. I've started dipping my toes into the skincare world quite recently and have done so by watching Skincare by Hyram, Susan Yara, and reading up on all sorts of skincare junkie pages. So far, i've learned the basics and am attempting to incorporate more "serious" products (serums and treatments) into my skincare routine (which was just cleanser, toner, vit c, moisturizer, spf and the ocassional mask). First thing's first: i have oily combo skin. Not acne prone, just the ocassional pimple now and then. I also live in Ontario and have kids under two and workout 3x/week. So that pretty much tells you my state and environment. So i've pretty much laid the whole routine out out in my chart (hehe sorry, i love charts). I had to do it since it was so intimidating to begin with specialized products. I haven't used the REN or Laneige masks, or the TO retinol yet, but am going to this week. Been using the Thayer's tone, SPF and complex 15 for about 3 months now and they've been fine. Everything else has been used twice. I don't cleanse in the morning. Just the thayer's toner and the rest. My issues are probably an oily Tzone, larger pores and uneven skintone. I'd love any tips, advice or Feedback! Thx!
😡Never buy it if you don't want to ruin your skin!
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask Steer clear of it! It has an orange flesh texture and a very pungent taste. Once I put the mask on my face, followed the instructions and washed it off in ten minutes. Howeve, I felt as if I was in a room filled with formaldehyde. The smell was extremely bad, and my face was so stinging. After about seven or eight minutes I couldn't stand to wash it off, and then I was shocked! My face turned red!😱😱😱 Even after the redness disappeared the next day, the skin remained rough for about a week, feeling like sandpaper. Although the first experience was not that good, I didn't give up and used it again. However, it still didn't work for me at all. It doesn't have an instant glowing effect nor does it get rid of acne. How can such an expensive mask not at least offer an instant effect? Shouldn't I just have gone for a vitamin C serum? It may have something to do with my slightly sensitive skin. I hope you guys choose skincare products carefully, especially sensitive skin! I'm giving it zero points and I definitely won't repurchase it! Did you have the similar experience as me. Feel free tell me below!👇

Is it only me that thinks it looks like a tiny swimming pool in a jar? This sleeping pack from makeprem is a newbie in my routine and I am in love with this beautiful, jelly-gel texture! 💙 The name says 'Peel me' but I don't find it as an exfoliating mask at all. It does have the PHA (Lactobionic acid) in the ingredient list but it's quite low there so I don't expect exfoliating effect. It has niacinamide high up on the ingredient list and neem extract (Melia Azadirachta) which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits. I also found an interesting ingredient: Onsen-sui, which is a water from Japanese hot springs and it's claimed to have some anti-inflammatory effect. 💦Overall, the ingredients list it is pretty long, but it actually contains many extracts and other beneficial ingredients, like: aloe, turmeric root, pearl powder, allantoin, etc. As per the first couple of uses - it feels suuuuper hydrating and locks the moisture in the skin. In the morning my skin is plump and moisturized. So far, I didn't experience any breakouts or irritation 💙
It's been a while since I dedicated my time to do a face mask at least 2-3 times a week. I'm always excited to try some unique masks that keep things fun and interesting, like the sheet masks from barulab. Today, I want to specifically review the Black Clay mask. This sheet mask contains 2 parts; I start to put the upper part first and the lower part after. It's a 3-sides face mask that has both a plastic side and paper backing. The plastic side is the one that goes directly on the skin after it's removed. After the mask is on my face, then I remove the paper layer carefully from the mask. This way makes the application so easy and fuss-free. The mask has a black grainy texture that’s not slippery and has a great grip than the usual sheet masks. It fits around the face and completely adheres without creasing too much. The recommended time is to wait at least 40 minutes. But after the 30 minutes, the mask turned grey-ish as it already dried and hardened. If you had tried a nose pack that is how it feels, but it wasn’t painful to remove. The black residue is also easy to wash off. I feel like the mask trapped impurities which get pulled from the skin when the mask is ripped off. It left my skin feeling super clean, tight, but dry! I even got some temporarily wrinkles around my eyes and chin; I think that's because the mask frowned when it dries. The dryness and wrinkles goes away easily after I put my hydrating skincare. I'm sure that it did remove any dead skin from the surface of my acne scars, leaving my skin calm and smooth. My pores seem smaller and I feel like it did suck out the sebum from some whiteheads. It also works great to reduce redness from my inflamed breakouts.
BYE BYE DRY DAYS!
I just used the last of this amazing power scrub mask! Not only does it smell SO GOOD but it works wonders for my combination skin, and when the seasons are changing or i'm having a not-so-good skin day, this replenishes my skin INSTANTLY. The packaging says that this product contains many "nutritive ingredients such as fresh plants, fruits, etc. to keep our skin healthy." You know me, I like to dig a little deeper into the ingredients. This product contains: Sucrose: an ingredient that soothes the skin and moisturizes, helps with blemish control, and is a natural exfoliator. Glycerin: helps with acne, wrinkles, good with oily skin types while still attracting moisture to the skin to keep it soft and supple. Seed oilS: anti-inflammatory properties, restores our skin barrier, and hydrates AND SO MANY MORE AMAZING INGREDIENTS I give this product 4/5 stars because it does have fragrance, (though it's the last ingredient) and has one paraben. Overall, This product is to die for! Skin mask junkies, invest in this for ONLY $10 at ulta!

Drugstore or high-end?: kaolin clay
These purifying masks have one ingredient in common: kaolin clay. Kaolin clay is a cosmetic clay rich in silica and with a neutral pH. It is versatile and can be used on all skin types, including dry or sensitive skin. Benefits: Detoxifies and cleanses the pores: the pores are clogged with dead skin cells, facial oil and bacteria. Kaolin clay helps to remove this dirt from the pores and also makes them appear smaller. Absorbs excess oil: it is one of the mildest clays and absorbs excess oil without peeling or drying the skin. Fights acne. Skin soother: helps calm inflamed and irritated skin. I love it because it is a gentle ingredient that doesn’t irritate or cause redness, removes excess oil and cleanses pores. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Unclogging Purifying Sebo-Controlling Mask Anti-Shine $19.99 It’s a purifying clay mask and skin mattifier for oily skin, removes excess oil, controls shine and removes impurities. It has a cream texture, is easy to apply, it leaves the skin soft, clean and without irritation after each application. SKINCEUTICALS - Clarifying Clay Mask for Acne Prone Skin $55 Clarifying mask that combines kaolin and bentonite clay, botanical and minerals to help calm the skin and hydroxy acid blend to gently exfoliate. It has a cream texture that makes it easy to apply. Leaves the skin hydrated, soft and clean. It is very effective and gentle on the skin. Both masks are good, Skinceuticals has greater effects because it contains a blend of malic, lactic, tartaric, citric and glycolic acids that help exfoliate dead skin cells. Both are a good option for combination and oily skin.

This exfoliating mask will brighten your skin!
Summer Fridays Overtime mask: claims to be a clarifying mask that uses pumpkin and exfoliates with apricot seed powder that polishes away dead skin cells and leaves your skin luminous. It features soothing oat kernel which also contains antioxidants that really pack the brightening factor. This mask is perfect for dull and congested skin. I will start by saying I have very sensitive, dehydrated, and acne prone skin. This mask is my go-to when I feel that my pores are congested and my skin texture just feels rough. But, due to my sensitive skin, this mask does feel a little potent to me. I knocked off one star because it leaves my skin a little red and irritated. If I am careful, while rubbing the exfoliant around my skin, then I wont get irritated. Product use recommendations include: apply a thin layer to dry skin with your hands, massage in circular motions for 60 seconds, and then leave on for 10 minutes. After the allotted time, wash off with warm water and pat dry. You can use this twice per week! My experience is that I can only use this mask every once in a while. Typically once every few weeks. My skin is sensitive to physical exfoliants and I cannot rub it for very long. My skin does get a little red after this but it leaves my skin so soft and smooth, that it’s worth it! I really like how bright this makes my complexion look and the glow it delivers! I would definitely recommend this product for all skin types, with the exception of sensitive skins. They should proceed with caution. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Overtime Mask
