Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm Review
Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm Review
FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm This cleansing balm is a 2-in-1 makeup remover + face cleanser that is advertised to be good for all skin types. It supposedly helps with dryness and dullness; all the while melting away your makeup.  My first thoughts on the product was that it smelled delicious (lime sherbet anyone?), and that it had a really nice texture; just imagine a whipped sorbet that melts into a rich oil upon skin contact. I’m usually a Clinique Take the Day Off Balm girl or Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse Oil kinda girl; however, when I ran out of both products I decided to try out my mini Farmacy balm. I’ve used this balm for a few weeks, and I would put it in 2nd place, with the Clinique in 1st place (only because it’s less $/oz). Although I really liked the product, the biggest issue I had with it is that originally, after trying to remove eye makeup, it would leave an oily film across my eyes, which tbh freaked me out. So instead of applying the balm directly to my skin and then rubbing it in, I would actually warm it up in my hands first, then gently rub on my face, and then add water to emulsify it. This seemed to fix the issue for me personally. Aside from that, I found it did a good job of removing my everyday makeup and sunscreen. When following up with a gentle cleanser, I didn’t have any issues with any leftover film or residue. I also didn’t find this product to be drying or hydrating on my skin. However, unlike the Dermalogica oil, it didn’t sting my eyes which was a huge plus. And I personally find the smell to be very pleasant and calming after a long day, but that might be just a “me” thing. Although it is a little pricey at $10/oz, it does last a long time which makes it worth it in my book. I would definitely recommend this product to those looking to start double cleansing because it works well to remove makeup/sunscreen (+ it smells great)!  4 - out of 5 stars

24K Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch + Perfume Review
24K Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch + Perfume Review
✨I walked into the room, dripping, in gold✨ . . Happy Fri-yay darlings! 😁 . . Here are some quick reviews for you! . . @santamarianovella1612 Acqua di Santa Maria Novella Profumo- I bought this perfume on my honeymoon in Florence 🇮🇹from the world’s oldest pharmacy! 🏥One of the main reasons I chose this scent, is because it was actually created in 1533 by Italian friars for the wedding of Queen Catherine De Medici👸🏽. It definitely helps that some of the top notes include Bergamot (my favorite scent), and other citruses🍊🍋, as well as rosemary, lavender, etc. Whenever I wear this, I feel regal and luxurious, and like I’m wearing a part of history. It starts a little powdery, then as it melts into your skin, you’re left with a delightful, fresh, citrusy scent. The only downside is the staying power is not that long (because it is an Eau de Cologne, not a Parfum)! 4/5 stars . . @matykosbeauty 24 K Gold ✨ Eye and Forehead (not pictured) patches- (kindly gifted) So what I liked most is that these patches actually stayed in place while standing/sitting. They were a little thinner than other hydrogel patches I’ve used, which I didn’t find to be a problem. They also weren’t soaked 💦 in product, which I liked because I don’t like that excess product going to waste. To be honest, I did feel a little irritation during the first few minutes after application, which after looking at ingredients, could be due to retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A derivative). If you have sensitive skin, proceed with caution. This should also serve as a reminder to NOT use the product in day time ☀️, unless you slather on that sunscreen 🧴(even then, it’s best for evening use🌙)! Despite the original stinging, I didn’t have any redness or irritation after taking off the patches, and was actually surprised by how nice and hydrated💧 my under eyes/forehead felt. One of the best parts is that it comes with 10 patches, 5 for the eyes and 5 for the forehead, which makes it really cost effective, especially considering most single use patches come out to about $2-$5. I give this product 4/ 5 stars.

Laneige Cream Skin Toner + Moisturizer Review
Laneige Cream Skin Toner + Moisturizer Review
So I’ve already covered toners and their benefits in a previous post, so today is just a review of my second favorite toner of all time. Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer. This is literally a holy grail product for my dry skin and I can’t stop and won’t stop raving about 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼.  . . Laneige’s toner is a 2-in-1 lightweight liquid-y lotion that promises to prep (aka balance) and soften your skin like a regular toner, while also moisturizing it like a cream to get the ultimate hydration in just one easy step! It’s good for all skin types and targets dryness, dullness, and uneven texture.   . . Let’s talk pros: EVERYTHING 😂but really though . . For something so lightweight it is INCREDIBLY moisturizing, I mean it when I say that a little goes a long way. I personally don’t apply this with a cotton ball (it wastes too much product). Instead I pour some in my palms and tap it into my face. . . Even with my dry skin, this toner is moisturizing on its own to where I could actually skip my serums/toners/moisturizers. Which is perfect if I’m feeling lazy/unmotivated to do my 10 step routine, or if I am just staying at home💁🏼‍♀️. . . It can be easily layered (with itself or other products). I actually do about 2-3 layers of this toner in the pm to get the max hydration benefits💦💦 . . It lasts forever, even with me using it 2 times a day (with multiple layers) I’ve been using it for at least 3 months right now and I still have over a third left. Cons: . . For me, nothing. However, if you have oily/acne prone skin it might be a little heavy for you . . I highly recommend it for those with dry/dehydrated skin who are trying to maximize hydration in their skin care, or for folks who are always busy/on the go and don’t have time to do a full routine. Just a few layers of this product and you can be out the door in seconds! For $33 I think it is definitely worth the price and it will always be a staple in my routine. I give this 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer

Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream Review
Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream Review
Drunk Elephant’s 🐘 Protini is a protein moisturizer that is supposed to improve skin’s tone, texture, and firmness through its proprietary blend of polypeptides. It is a white, thin, lightweight gel that readily absorbs into the skin. . I had received a sample of this product previously, which was my first introduction to peptides in skincare. Unfortunately, after trying this product a second time, I’m still not crazy about it. I found it is not hydrating enough (even in the am) for my dry skin, so I always mix in a pump of oil prior to applying. Aside from that, I’ve also experienced some stinging/irritation in the more sensitive parts of my face. Additionally, while this product does contain copper peptides (which have enough evidence to support skin repair/firmness), the other peptides had studies done “in vitro” (NOT on real skin  as opposed to “in vivo” (on real skin). . One of my other main issues with this product is the price. For $68 I expect to get “revived, younger-looking skin, almost from the first application”? (quote from Drunk Elephant). However, all I got was irritated, non-hydrated skin. I don’t think the polypeptides have had any anti-aging effects on my skin either, especially compared to my regular tretinoin use. . Personally, I don’t think it is worth the price, especially when you can get the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Whipped Night Cream as a dupe, or even get  The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% at a much cheaper price. I really wanted to love this product, especially since the LaLa Retro worked wonders for me. . If you have dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin, or are looking to get immediate skin firming/anti-aging effects I would not recommend this product for you. However, if you have oily skin, and don’t mind spending the $$$ for a nice, lightweight moisturizer and want to try out peptides, I would get a sample first before committing. I give this product 2/5 stars.⭐️⭐️ DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream

Review: Korres Wild Rose Smoothie Moisturizer
Review: Korres Wild Rose Smoothie Moisturizer
Today for #friyayfaves I wanted to introduce another Greek 🇬🇷 brand that I am starting to fall in love with: Korres. The great thing about this brand is that they are already launched in the states so you are able to purchase them in stores vs only online! 🙌🏼One of my favorite things about this brand is that it is clean 🌱and cruelty-free🐰, and they are quickly approaching 90% natural/naturally derived ingredients in their product formulations!!🌿 . . Now let me present to you, the amazing Korres Wild Rose Smoothie 🌹Brightening Priming Moisturizer!  . . This creamy, lightweight moisturizer promises to even out and brighten ✨ your skin tone, decongest pores, and hydrate 💧 + plump 💦 your skin in just 14 days! . It’s a lovely concoction of the following: . -Wild rose oil🌹: which has antioxidative properties to protect against free radical damage☀️, and aids in the prevention of fine lines/wrinkles. It also contains both Vitamin C and Vitamin A (retinol) which help treat hyperpigmentation and other visible signs of aging . -Super-C (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate): an oil soluble Vitamin C derivative which is one of the most stable forms, albeit less potent than pure L-Ascorbic Acid . -Imperata Cylindrica Extract: long term moisturizer 💧 and hydrator, comes from a West-African plant 🌱 that is able to survive flooded environments and contains DMSP which helps increase intracellular osmosis (dehydrated cells inside the skin are able to pull moisture/water from the outside, inwards, and retain that moisture-remaining hydrated for longer) . -Turmeric Extract: antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties . . I was really impressed with this product! After a few days of using it in the morning, my dry skin actually looked brighter✨ and more radiant🌟, and felt softer and more supple. Although it’s also boasted as a makeup primer, I didn’t notice that it made my makeup last longer. However, it definitely made my foundation apply more smoothly and I had that “lit from within” look I’m always searching for. If you have dry, dull/lackluster skin and want a hydrating moisturizer that you can confidently wear under your makeup, I would definitely recommend this product for you!🥰 . . Unfortunately, as much as I love this product, the price is what gets me. For $45, you only get 1.01 oz of product, which is extremely pricey compared to other cult favorites. I was in luck and managed to snag this at TJ Maxx for $25 which is why I went ahead with the purchase. If you have the money to spend, I would say it is worth the price. However, because of its high cost, I have to knock a star off and give this 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ KORRES - Wild Rose Smoothie Brightening Priming Moisturiser

Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro Whipped Cream Review
Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro Whipped Cream Review
As a dry skin girl whose face is basically the sahara desert 🔥, my skin craves a moisturizer that prevents against water loss 💧and can repair my moisture barrier (due to my tretinoin/acid use, and just the cool winter weather)❄️.  . . I personally look for moisturizers that contain humectants💧 such as HA, ceramides, and glycerin, as well as antioxidants☀️. I also look for thicker creams (more moisturizing) that contain emollients (which are lubricating ingredients that soften and smooth the skin) such as non-fragrant plant oils🌹 (stay away from ones with fragrance ESPECIALLY for sensitive skin) and a mix of butters (shea/cocoa/mango) and other oils (marula/rosehip/primrose/argan etc). . . LaLa Retro Whipped Cream from Drunk Elephant 🎀🐘 is one of my favorite moisturizers, especially come fall🍁🍂/winter season❄️. It is formulated with a ceramide complex (for barrier support), six african oils (for intense nourishment and moisturization), and sodium hyaluronate/hyaluronic acid crosspolymer (smaller molecular weight than HA so it can penetrate the skin more deeply). These ingredients, plus many more, promise to rescue your dry and dehydrated skin and provide intense moisture and replenishing barrier support.🙌🏼 . . The product comes out of a nice, airless pump (which makes it super hygienic). It has a delectable, whipped, airy texture that melts upon contact with your skin. Although it is thick, it does not feel heavy on the skin, and absorbs easily upon contact. A little goes a long way with this product. I find the blend of oils (marula, baobab, and passion fruit) to be extremely nourishing for my dry, thirsty skin. It works well as both an am☀️ and pm🌙 moisturizer to keep my skin feeling soft, hydrated, and silky smooth all day. I would 100% recommend this product for folks with dry/sensitive/flaky skin because it gets the job done and really works to hydrate and repair your skin’s barrier. . I actually came across this product when I was really struggling with a bad bout of seborrheic dermatitis that was causing painful drying flakes on my chin and cheeks for over a month; and literally no moisturizer was helping the issue. My skin was so irritated and raw; and I was extremely embarrassed because I wasn’t able to cover the scaly skin with any makeup. It got so bad to where I didn’t want to go out in public or see any friends because I just felt gross. Lala Retro was the only moisturizer that didn’t irritate my skin and actually helped decrease the flakiness and really helped me regain my confidence. . . The product does cost $60; but despite its higher price point, it is a cream I will always go back to. 🥰For me, it is worth the price and I will continue to repurchase consistently. If you have oily, or normal skin with no major skin concerns, this product may be a little on the pricier side and not for you. For that reason, I would give it 4.5 stars⭐️ instead of the full 5. “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!”
“On Wednesdays, we wear pink!”💞👚💅🏼 . . ❤️Ladies & gents, we are officially halfway through the week, and let me tell you I am READY for the weekend! I’ve slowly been adjusting to being back home on the west coast🌁 and slowly but surely recovering from my honeymoon-induced jet lag✈️ I’m not going to lie, the smell of roses🌹 is one of my absolute favorite scents in the world, so when I found out that @traderjoes sells not only a rose water facial toner, but a rose face oil for about $4-6 I stocked up! . . 🌹💦Rose water has tons of benefits when used topically on skin! It helps reduce inflammation and redness😡, and can balance your skin’s pH levels (more on that later). The antioxidants in rose water also help protect the cells in the skin against UV damage☀️, so spritz 💦a little on your face before applying sunscreen to increase protection! . . Additionally, 🌹rose water acts as an inhibitor (something that reduces chemical activity of an enzyme) to both elastase and collagenase. 🧐Now why is this important?Elastase and collagenase are enzymes that help breakdown elastin and collagen: proteins that helps keep your skin firm and bouncy🙌🏼. . . 🌹💦Rose water showed 24.15% effectiveness at inhibiting elastase activity and 26.39% at inhibiting collagenase activity👩🏼‍🔬. Now while the anti-aging effects may not be as visible/impressive as microneedling, Vitamin C, or using retinoids, it’s a great product that is easily available to most people and doesn’t require a prescription or a trip to the dermatologist. Plus it smells heavenly😇. . . 😍Out of the two, the facial oil is my favorite product and becoming one of my favorite facial oils (of which I have way too many😂). I found that it helps keep my skin hydrated by locking in all the products I use underneath and allowing them to really penetrate my skin. Not to mention, I am loving the price point💰 . . If you do have sensitive skin, do a patch test of the 🌹rose water first prior to applying. Although fragrance is the last ingredient, it’s always better to be safe! . . Do you have a favorite Trader Joe’s skin care product?

☀️Sunscreen is the best anti-a
☀️Sunscreen is the best anti-aging tool we have available at our fingertips! You should be wearing one with at least SPF30 anytime you leave the house (even on cloudy days)🌥! When choosing a sunscreen, look for ones that offers broad-spectrum protection against: UVB= “b” for burning, causes sunburns😡, aging, skin cancer UVB= “a” for aging, causes wrinkles👵🏼, skin cancer after repeated exposure Here are some of my go-to products! @coola Classic Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea: I originally received this product with my @fabfitfun box and use it almost 24/7! I love that this product doubles as a moisturizer! After cleansing and toning I pat this product on my face and it leaves me ✨G L O W I N G✨and hydrated💦 all day. We’re talking #dewy #glassskin vibes. Which is why I recommend it more for people with dry/combination skin vs those with oily skin. I’ve found this sunscreen can pill with extra creams/foundations on top so while wearing it, I keep my makeup simple: eyes, brows, lips💄 @supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: I got this from @sephora right before I left for my honeymoon and was obsessed with it on the trip. This product reminds me of the consistency of Smashbox’s photo finish primer, and in my opinion works just as well. 🤩(I’m actually planning on switching out my primer for this sunscreen once I run out)! It goes on smooth and is fragrance free (for all of you with sensitive skin)and has a mattifying effect. Since I’m not ready for summer to be over yet, check out some of my other favorite products from these last few months!💛 If you’re obsessed with getting a glowing tan (without the sun damage) like me, I would recommend @theisleofparadise 🌴self-tanning drops! I use shade medium and mix anywhere from 1-4 drops into my moisturizer at night to get that glow. Let me know if you would like a separate review for this! While honeymooning in Italy, I became obsessed with the @acquadellelba products and their light, fresh scent of the Mediterranean Sea 🌊 (lotion pictured).
