Brand Spotlight: Youth to the People

GlowK
If you’ve been following my posts, you know how much love I have for Youth to the People’s skincare products, and I’m here to say that love extends to the brand itself. ♻️ environmental consciousness ♻️ All of YTTP’s packaging comes in glass bottles that are reusable or recyclable, and their box packaging is made from post-consumer, recyclable paper. The clean glass bottles let the gorgeous products speak for themselves while minimizing waste. In addition to all this, I love how straightforward their packaging is - if drives me crazy when the volume of a product looks doubled because of all the extra packaging a brand threw on to make it look fancy. YTTP also strongly encourages their customers to reuse packaging by refilling travel containers from the full size product and even offer a 16oz refill bottle for their cleanser so you don’t have to keep buying new pump bottles. YTTP also places a huge focus on sustainably sourcing the products inside their bottles! 🌈 social consciousness 🌈 One of YTTP’s mottos is “skincare for all.” They actively work to find models of all different ages and skin colors to ensure that everyone sees themselves represented by their skincare products. They don’t shy away from difficult conversations and seek out ways to give diverse voices a platform. Every June, they create a pride month collaboration fundraiser produc and year round, they are committed to giving a percentage of their proceeds to support non-profits and working in their local LA community. 🥗 ingredient consciousness 🥗 YTTP isn’t just out here trying to crank out new products for us to fill our shelves with. They are very ingredient focused and take their inspiration from the same foods that are good for us when we eat them. They craft each new product taking inspiration from these ingredients and working to target specific results. Their products are vegan and cruelty free - basically an organic salad for your face. 💫 my superstars 💫 YTTP has three starter sets for oily/combo/dry skin that can get you started with a regimen specialized for you, but used correctly, all of their products are formulated to work for all skin types (so you could be like me and just use them all...sorry wallet!!) That said, my all time favorites are the Superfood Cleanser and the Hydrate and Glow Oil. If I had to, I could probably get by with just these two products. They are so simple, gentle and effective. The cleanser nourishes and cleans with no stripping and the oil is lightweight and packed with SO many hydrating ingredients like prickly pear, maqui, and squalane. More realistically, when I travel I bring these two and a mini size of one or both of their moisturizers which is also my fallback routine anytime my skin is flaring up! Have you tried youth to the people? What’s your favorite product? Any questions about the brand? PS. @CheriePick since you asked - if I haven’t made it clear already, YTTP is my favorite skincare brand 😉

Entering fall mode 🍂
Fall is kinda already here, which means time to make adjustments to my current summer routine to meet my skin needs. I have combo, dehydrated skin that tends to get slightly drier when temperatures start to drop and living in a very dry climate that just gets drier as it gets colder, so I really need to amp up the hydration. For summer I like using lighter layers and products to keep my skin hydrated, but for colder months I just like to go all in with moisturizing properties and nourishing ingredients. These are a couple adjustments and products I’ll be adding to my routines: 🧴 Switching to a nice hydrating, creamy toner! From BLUME - Stargirl Face Mist which is perfect for summer to LANEIGE - Cream Skin Refiner that my combo skin just loves! It’s such a hyped up product that in my opinion works great. 🧴 During summer I like to use moisturizers that aren’t so heavy but still feel nice and creamy. The cocokind - Texture smoothing cream has been amazing for me, it really does a great job smoothing unwanted texture thanks to celery superseed complex and tsubaki seed oil. For fall, I decided to finally try the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi (giving it 5 stars for now, I’ll revise the rating soon!), which is supposed to be super hydrating and has ingredients like squalene, jojoba and Shea butter. All ingredients my skin really likes so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy this! 🧴I’ll also be adding the Mad Hippie - Antioxidant Facial Oil because facial oils are a must for me to lock moisture in during colder weather. 🧴Lastly, to keep my skin soft and bright I’ll also be adding the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial to get rid of dead skin and help products absorb better. #CheriePartner

1 month on accutane!!
Nightmare skincare routine on accutane: Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Hyaluronic acid: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I use this before my moisturiser for extra moisture! Hyaluronic acid retains moisture and combats transepidermal water loss. I put this on while my skin is damp. Exfoliant: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator The best liquid exfoliant in the game! Unfortunately I can’t really use this product while on accutane as it just dries out my skin too much. Occasionally I will apply a small amount on my t-zone to combat clogged pores which has really sped up my skincare journey! Moisturiser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi A little bit more on the pricey side but it is a fantastic night moisturiser! Because accutane dries out the skin so much, this product has seriously saved my life. I wake up and my skin is super hydrated and glowing! **because I am on accutane I can’t really incorporate any exfoliants or treatments into my routine at the moment. I would love to incorporate a serum maybe even something gentle for acne scarring. If you have any suggestions please let me know!!

Transitioning Your Skincare Between Seasons 🍂
Now that we're heading into fall here in the northern hemisphere it's time to update our skincare routines! As the weather cools down and gets a bit drier so does our skin. This doesn't mean that my combination/oily skin is going to change skin types and become dry, instead the environment is going to change the condition of my skin. So how do I adjust my skincare routine? Here are a few ways: Swap out my lighter, gel based moisturizer for a heavier cream. I LOVE the LORD JONES - Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer because it is heavier but doesn't clog my pores or feel heavy. I still have acne-prone skin so I don't want to suffocate it. I add a hydrating serum to both my AM and PM routines. I'm currently using the iS CLINICAL - Hydra-Cool Serum it's cooling and hydrating, plays well with other products and sinks into the skin quickly. Exfoliating becomes essential! During the cooler months I opt for a gentler exfoliant that I can use daily. The BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - LOTION P50 PIGM 400 exfoliates and targets hyperpigmentation, it's gentle and effective! Some things that don't change in my routine are: Vit C! I use a vitamin C serum all year long. The BeautyStat COSMETICS - Universal C Skin Refiner is the most effective that I've tried and the formulation is beautiful. You MUST wear SPF! Even on cloudy, rainy days you need to wear SPF, especially if you're exfoliating regularly! The elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 is lightweight and safe for sensitive skin. Do you transition your skincare routine as the seasons change? Let me know in the comments! #CheriePartner

All about Youth To The People ✨
I haven’t made a post in a long time and I’ve recently stocked up on my favorite night time cleanser the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser ! This cleanser is perfect omg! The smell, the texture, the suddsy clean and refreshing feeling you get from this cleanser is amazing! It’s perfect for my oily combo skin especially at night. For morning I go in with a more gentle cleanser because as you know fall and winter is coming up and Minnesota cold weather is NOT IT. The YTTP cleanser gives an amazing cleanse, doesn’t dry up my skin and is perfect with their YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi I bought this with the adaptogen mist! It was a mini set sold at Sephora for 24$ so knowing me, a skincare ADDICT I had to purchase it. (: before using the cream and YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha I used to use the big old Cerave tub. Now I loved that moisturizer I really did. But I got bored of it. I love trying new things and the YTTP adaptogen cream has replaced her :( (Sorry Cerave) seriously though I love this cream!! I was a bit scared to try it out because I was worried it would be too heavy for my oily/combo skin, but it’s definitely a lot lighter than the Cerave cream. It’s veryyyy hydrating, non greasy and FRAGRANCE FREE! I will definitely be purchasing the full size once I finish the mini one (: I’ve also been really enjoying the YTTP Adaptogen mist however, it’s not really a staple in my skincare routine. It does feel nice and hydrating but I don’t know if I will be purchasing the full size because I don’t find a mist necessary in my routine. I love how refreshed my skin feels after spraying this on, maybe I will repurchase the full size maybe not?? If I see dramatic results from it but for now it is a maybe (: YTTP has definitely been a loved brand by me, I also did order their Dream mask and I will review that very soon!! I definitely recommend this brand if you are wanting to try something that isn’t drugstore. I love how their packaging is glass and they are also cruelty-free! Thank you for taking the time to read this ❤️❤️ I hope you guys have an amazing day <3

*UPDATED* PM skin routine 🌚
This is my pm skin routine, updated. This is my part 2 to my last post of my updated AM routine! 🌊HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash my boyfriend got me this for my bday, and I’ve used it 2 times so far. The consistency is perfect for what I wanted, I felt like I needed this for my stubborn hormonal acne. It also is unscented. So far, I like it a lot! ☕️ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner when I exfoliate, this is my go to. I have a review on this in a previous post, where I go into more detail. 🍃NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% this is what I got instead of another TO niacinamide serum. I like this one a lot better, and I think it’s simply because it is formulated better. It doesn’t foam up like TO does, and it’s also unscented. It’s consistency and packaging is also better. The results are what’s expected from a niacinamide serum, and price wasn’t too bad for this serum either. 🍁The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG see my am routine post for details on this product. 🧬GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I like this serum because it’s cheaper like the ordinary, and it doesn’t foam up like TO did, but it still foams a little bit. It’s good enough for me, and isn’t scented. 🐘 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this is my night moisturizer, and I love this because it’s thick and hydrating. It feels nice on the skin, doesn’t have any scent, and makes my skin feel plump. It is expensive though, but DE always is. pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device I got this in my subscription box, and I’ve been using it at night to wash my face. It has 4 vibration settings, I use the first and second one for washing my face. I do think that it helps with exfoliation, and using the other side of the tool is made for massaging in serums. I found that it does take a lot of extra time when using it for serums. I like this tool, it’s nice, but not necessary. More of a luxury item.

Chemical Exfoliation
Guys lets talk about AHA’s and BHA’s . Do you have HYPERPIGMENTATION, rough texture, acne scars, surface issues, uneven skin, THIS is what you need . Have you been using Physical Exfoliation with little salt beads will this is an upgrade . Yes , it is stranger but trust me it’s much more effective. You will see an improvement in 2 weeks . When you first buy your AHA BHA use them once or twice a week because this is Strong STUFF for me not to use another word you know what I am saying . Ok on a serious note your AHA is going to help with your surface skin problems . Your BHA is going to get deeper and kill that acne bacteria and prevent breakouts . I ONLY USE MY ACIDS PM TIME (NIGHT ) WHEN YOU USE THESE ACIDS IN THE DAY YOU HAVE TO PUT SPF . Or you will irritate your skin more . I would recommend telling yourself that this products are for your night routine . GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SKIN JOURNEY Cheers to beautiful flawless skin Youth to the People 11% Toner - Really left me speechless the first time I tried it . I couldn’t believe how effective it was with only one use . Your sky looks brighter with an hour totally RECOMMEND. Just to make this clear do not use these two products together they are use separately because you could over exfoliate and irritate your skin . YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner

SOME NEW PRODUCTS
here are some new products i’m super excited to try out!!! PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Gel Masque i love this mask!!! it’s super hydrating and calming. it cools my skin down and it’s perfect after a day out in the sun or when you’re needing a little extra hydration. a little goes a long way. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Overtime Mask this mask is most likely not for those with super sensitive skin... the smell is a very pleasant cinnamon pumpkin. it’s both an enzymatic and a physical exfoliator. there are apricot shells in the formula, and they’re pretty large. the directions state that you gently rub in small circles for a minute once applied to the skin, and then leave on for 10 minutes. because i don’t like physical exfoliation, i usually just rub it in super gently for 30 seconds and then leave it on for 10 minutes before gently removing it with a warm washcloth. HERBIVORE - Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment the smell of this one is a little much... a little medical lavender-like. it’s a thick lotion with a beautiful dark purple hue. when i use this, i use it as the last step of my routine and rub it thoroughly into my skin. the morning after my skin is super soft and hydrated and it helps any blemishes and acne on my skin. i’ve read a lot of really good reviews and a few really bad reviews about it molding, but so far it’s been fine for me. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask my fine lines are GONE by morning with the help of this. it blurs and tightens my under eyes, while also hydrating them and not drying them out as some retinols do. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence love this essence. it has a beautifully thick texture. it’s sticky and stretchy and one pump sinks into the skin. it hydrates and softens my skin, while also helping any irritation. i’m super excited to use the other products i haven’t had a chance to try yet! let me know if you want to hear about any product or products in specific :)

Hydrating while catching some zzz’s | 👌🏻🙈🌙
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask Next up to bat from the Youth To The People value kit is their Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask. Having had great luck with their Adaptogen Moisture Cream, my expectations were set pretty high for this mask. I’ve read through pages of reviews, most of which being 4 or more stars, and went to bed with this stuff slathered on for a few nights before drawing my final opinion - and well, guys…this stuff rocks. What I love about it: ✨ This is a very “set it and forget it” style of mask. It’s not sticky or tacky, and basically feels like a thick moisturizing cream. Just finish your evening skincare routine with it, head to bed, and wake up looking plumped and hydrated for the day ahead. ✨ Vitamin C firms and brightens the skin, while squalane helps boost hydration without clogging your precious pores. Those two paired with prickly pear are a sure bet in combatting dryness and irritation. ✨ Maqui, found in a good chunk of YTTP products, is crazy packed with antioxidants. These are especially effective in helping your skin withstand and repair itself from the damage caused by UV light exposure (but don’t let this replace your sunscreen: that stuff is still super important!). ✨ YTTP is an environmentally and animal rights-conscious brand with recyclable packaging. This product specifically is award-winning, scoring spots on many lists, including the Allure Best of Beauty award in 2019. Sleep/overnight masks are such an easy thing to implement into your skincare routine. With winter coming, I expect this stuff to become a staple for me, much like I said about the Farmacy Honey Potion mask. Both are rich in long-lasting hydration, won’t make my skin freak out, and feel like a creamy dream on my skin. 😴 What’s your favourite YTTP product? I’m digging into the rest of the value kit this week, but is there anything else I need to pick up?! 💸

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil So you know how I wrote that post about my newfound love of YTTP? That was before this product broke me out. dear, klairs - Fundamental Eye Awakening Gel I like this product to reduce my bags quickly thanks to Vitamin C. It isn’t as good as CONTEXT - Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream but we can’t have it all in a hurry. BECCA - Hydra-Light Smoothing Lip Scrub My lips tingled a little but they had never felt so smooth. Too Faced - Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer I wish it dried faster but it does prevent creasing. NARS - Tinted Glow Booster I finally figured out why my chin had has had some whiteheads going on for the last two weeks. I love this product but it is being returned tomorrow as long as I can walk. (No hyperbole. Having chronic pain issues.) UOMA BEAUTY - Say What?! Foundation in T1C A much better match for me especially with winter coming. I loooove this formula so much I bought the under eye cream. erborian - BB Crayon Concealer & Touch-Up Stick in Clair for my massive under eye bags. PAT McGRATH LABS - Dark Star Volumizing Mascara Still the best. Beauty Bakerie - Face Flour Baking Powder in Oat. The first first loose powder not to give me an asthma attack. Used to set the Erborian crayon only. Lime Crime - Prelude Chroma Eyeshadow Palette Every color but seafoam was gorgeous to work with and easy to blend with minimal fall out. (I bought it for seafoam!) Overall, I was pleased with the shimmering rose gold the most. BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Smoky Quartz Not as highlightery as most if their highlighters but it has personality and it will look great in the fall. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mist & Fix Hydrating Setting Spray Smelly but effective. GUCCI - Rouge à Lèvres Satin Lipstick The Fallen Sparrow. Gorgeous packaging. Absolutely unexpected naming convention. Smooth, even, and easy application and a color I wish I could wear outside. I am fair but I could see this color on a wide range of skin tones. I was completely bowled over by a product that I mostly treated myself to because of the name to be honest! Wow, that was a ling journey. Hope you enjoyed taking it with me!

My Two Go To Products Are As New As Can Be
My Skin is frequently irritated and I just found two products that made me feel as soothed as a swaddled baby. I got H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Gel Cream Moisturizer in an Allure Beauty Box. I tried it today for the first time and bought it 35 minutes later. If you have dry and reactive skin, this is a product you need. I didn’t realize my skin itched so much until it stopped itching! I now know what Naomi Campbell felt when she walked her first runway. That sense of relief and rightness was so wonderful to experience. I have listened to many a member sing the praises of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil and I have ignored every one of you. (Sorry.) After two bad experiences with the brand, I wasn’t taking any chances. But I was desperate. Putting the oil on my face must have been what ibn Battuta felt when he encountered an oasis as he crosses the Sahara. My skin breathed a sigh of relief and stopped itching. I ordered a back up bottle today. Thank you all for helping me find makeup and beauty products and just find joy in them!

Super good superfoods | 🥬✅🍵
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Youth to the People has a great line of superfood infused products, and trying out their Air-Whip Moisture Cream showed me that they’re all worth our time. It’s a great value for the price, works with all skin types, and can become an everyday staple in anyone’s regimen so quickly. What I love about it: ✨ This moisturizer provides heavy hydration with a lightweight formula. It’s whipped texture is a true MVP and can be used as a makeup primer without compromising your foundation’s setting power. ✨ Packed with nutritious ingredients including kale, green tea, and naturally hydrating hyaluronic acid, this moisturizer will work with your skin chemistry to provide the best result. ✨ Green tea is a well-known antioxidant and powerhouse when it comes to balancing your skin, reducing redness, and helping to prevent acne. ✨ As I always love to mention no matter the brand, this product is 100% vegan, uses recyclable packaging, and is cruelty, paraben, and phthalate-free. No junk in this jar! This whipped cream is incredible for all day use and really gives you options when it comes to deciding how you’ll use it. I’ve loved how soft it makes my skin and how hydrated it feels throughout the day. I’m stoked to test this out under a full beat to see how it holds up! 💪🏻 Have you used a moisturizing cream as a primer? What’s your go-to that doesn’t make your makeup slip? Let me know below! ❣️

🌿KALE ISNT JUST FOR SALADS ANYMORE 🌿
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Since I started slowly working my way through the YTTP minis set I’m finding I like certain products way more than others. I’m super grateful I didn’t splurge for the full sizes because I think I would only repurchase one or two of the five that were included in the set. The Superfood Air-Whip Cream was one I will pass on in the future, I found this didn’t hydrate my skin like I’d hoped it would. If I applied it in the morning I found my skin feeling tight around early afternoon and begging for some moisture. Although this moisturizer wasn’t right for me it’s still packed antioxidants, and other great actives. Some of the highlights being 🌿Kale - doesn’t just make for a delicious salad anymore! Packed with Vitamins A,B,C and K this antioxidant rich ingredient will help reduce the look of pores, make dark circles disappear, promote collagen production, prevent free-radical damage and detoxify the skin. 🌿Spinach - Used to strengthen, moisturize and restore skin’s natural luminosity while reducing the look of dark spots and sun damage. Thanks to rich composition of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fatty acids spinach is also able to reduce oxidative stress in turn reducing the visible signs of aging. 🌿Green Tea Leaf Extract- Another great antioxidant with UV protection, and anti -inflammatory properties. Not to mention it is also anti carcinogenic and antimicrobial! 🌿Hyaluronic Acid - Needs no introduction, but on the off chance that you haven’t heard of it, it’s a remarkable moisturizing ingredient with the ability to bind incredible amounts of water and give long term moisturizing benefits. YTTP actually uses Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, which is sometimes consider to be a superior version of HA! ✨Though I wouldn’t get it again, the ingredients really speak for themselves and it might be worth a shot 💛

💚My Current Simple 4 Step Skin Care Routine💚
I like to keep it simple. I'm a minimalist and I believe less is more. With my acne prone oily skin I like to keep my routine small with products that I know will work. I currently have 6 products for my routine but they divide at morning and night so, in reality, I'm left with a 4 step routine. This routine and products work perfect for my skin after trying products for weeks, so this is why I consider this my current routine. ☀️MORNING: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I start my mornings with this cleanser by removing excess oil and products from last night. This cleanser is my new favorite cleanser, it is gentle but very efective. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or irritated. The scent is pleasant and minimal. The bottle is made out of glass so it is reusable. This brand is vegan and cruelty free. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% If you don't know about this product, Hello? Where have you been? This is my second step and the most important. Niacinamide helps with excess oil and minimizing the look of pores. Perfect for my oily face. FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya Newest addition to my routine and I do not regret. Even though it has a scent I really like it, it is not overwhelming and does not irritate my skin. This oil free gel moisturizer is perfect for the summer days and my oily skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated without feeling too oily. The jar is made out of glass. Dr Dennis Gross - Dark Spot Sun Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 I believe this sunscreen is over my budget but I was recommended this product by a specialist at Sephora so I gave it a try. It leaves a slight white cast that eventually goes away so I don't have a problem with that. It doesn't leave my skin feeling oily I can barely feel it on my skin. It is lightweight but to be honest I would not repurchase just because of the price. 🌙NIGHT: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm This balm is perfect for removing makeup but I don't use makeup that often. I mainly use this to remove the sunscreen off my face. It works wonderful and I will repurchase. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Double cleansing is important for removing excess oil and sunscreen. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator Holy grail exfoliator. I only use this at night. Check out my other posts talking about this. FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya This moisturizer also works great at night. I feel soft and hydrated even after waking up the next day. 💚(Some nights I use masks if I am feeling extra fancy) This is it! My simple but effective skin care routine. If you have any questions leave a comment below Love, Ana♡

What did I bring...?
I haven’t traveled in over a year! And having to choose what to bring with out of all my skincare choices was hard! I knew I wanted to lay-off the actives/chemicals as I’d be out in the sun on the beach all week but I also wanted to still be able to treat my skin if any issues popped up. Then it was, do I bring a bunch of stuff to photograph? Nope! In the end I just ended up picking my favorites as well as those that were small and easy to pack. The most easy to choose were from Youth to the People. They have a great line that could take me from cleansing to moisturizing and not needing any other brand at all. But that wouldn’t be much fun! 😂 Some of the standouts are: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm to remove sunscreen YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - With Pride Minis Kit in here is the Superfood Cleanser. Also the exfoliating mask and Superberry mask if I feel I need them. Plus I got the black cosmetic bag to put all my skincare in! Perricone MD - Hypoallergenic CBD Sensitive Therapy Rebalancing Elixir I’ve been using this ever since I got it about two weeks ago now and LOVE it! My skin feels and looks so much healthier. I’m impressed! Medik8 - Full Lash & Brow Advanced Lash & Brow Serum I don’t think I’ll ever be able to live without this! I’m almost through my first one and I’ve had to trim my brows TWICE now! They are far from perfect but I’m hoping with continued use I’ll need less time filling them in. I’ve started to also notice a difference in my lashes. When I curl them they touch the top of my eyelid! (I’ve been using this for @ 6 weeks) FACETORY - FaceTory Oats Calming Glow Weightless Facial Oil I brought this one along not only for myself, just Incase (although I have 5 bottles of facial sunscreen!) but for my family who isn’t as persistent as me at reapplying. This will be great for dry, sunburn skin. Help calm and restore it. One of my favorites! I’ll be hoping to share more this week on some of the sunscreens and body products I brought with. I got hit with my monthly cycle and unfortunately my periods are very heavy and very painful. So these first two days so far have been a bust 🥴 although today and overcast out anyway. Much ❤️ my @cheriefamily 🍒 #CherieCreator

A wonderful vegan/cruelty free youth serum!
I’m making a revised review of this serum because I’ve realized it’s actually one of the best products I’ve ever used, and here’s why. This serum can either be your favorite beauty product or something that confuses you. So I’ll explain how to use it properly and why it is so great. The vitamin C derivative is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a water soluble and stable form of vitamin C. This makes it safe for use in clear glass containers. So if you’re worried about oxidation, this one should not oxidize like the notoriously unstable l-ascorbic acid. The first ingredient is water, followed by citric acid, lactic acid and malic acid. The exfoliation quality of this serum is very gentle yet effective for brightening the complexion. Many vitamin C serums are highly irritating and irritating products are not going to help your skin, there is no point in continuing use of a product that leaves you bright red and irritated constantly. This also has panthenol, two types of Hyaluronic acid and aloe Vera to hydrate the skin deeply. Peptides in the formula help to train skin cells to act younger, rebuild collagen and firm up the skin. And I have noticed that effect, my skin feels firmer. Antioxidant rich green tea, kale and spinach provide protection against free radical damage, making this perfect for use in the daytime under SPF. So, on to how to use this. Do not apply it to dry skin or it will feel sticky. Apply this to damp skin after cleansing, or after misting your skin with something water based like the Evian Mineral Water Facial Mist. This helps it to sink in deeply and also prevents the Hyaluronic acid from pulling water out of your skin. Trust me, this keeps the serum from feeling tacky. The feeling of this serum is wonderful, it feels refreshing and comforting. It spreads nicely since the consistency is very thin. I use 1 and a half pumps on my wet face and pat it in and I also get my neck and backs of my hands. This doesn’t cause any pilling/dry skin patches; it just leaves me feeling so hydrated and ready for the day. This serum is incredible. It’s perfect for people with sensitive skin who want a vegan/cruelty free/silicone free serum that will hydrate, anti age and brighten the skin and protect against free radical damage. I give it 10/10 and I would repurchase, given the price is actually not terrible in comparison to so many other vitamin C serums. A little goes a long way and I enjoy using this daily! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Firm and Brighten Vitamin C Serum

My Retinol Routine
I introduced retinol into my routine for the first time a little over a month ago. I use it 2 nights a week and when I do, this is my routine: 1 - Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser my go to cleanser every day, twice a day! It has a gel texture, ‘green drink’ smell, and leaves my face clean but never stripped 2 - Serums: Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum and Sweet CHEF - Beet + Vitamin A Serum Shot sweet chef’s beet serum has a cool gel-like texture and a beautiful pinkish red color. I want to give it another few weeks of use before I do a full review, but so far, I am impressed and have seen a noticeable improvement in skin tone, especially on my cheeks! Because retinol can be drying, Ive been pairing it with Super Bounce, glossiers HA serum to boost hydration. I’m almost through the bottle and have really enjoyed super bounce on the days I’m feeling a little dehydrated. 3 - Eye Cream: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Hydrate + Firm Peptide Eye Cream luxuriously thick eye cream that sinks in fast and is amazing for maintaining hydration around my eyes - I use this every night! 4 - Moisturizer: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi yttp’s adaptogen cream is deeply soothing and hydrating so it’s the perfect pairing to combat the irritating and drying effects of retinol 5 - Face Oil: 10 DEGREES COOLER - 03 MIDNIGHT IN CORSICA FACE OIL I will do a full review on this oil soon, but I love it and use it most nights! It’s an herbal smelling blend of oils (first ingredient is marula) and is a bit on the heavier side. It does an unbelievable job of locking the rest of my routine in for the night! What do you think of my retinol routine? What are your favorite ingredients or products to use alongside retinol? I’m still figuring out the best way to have it in my routine (particularly because I like to use acids on other nights and don’t want to overdo it!) so would love to hear what has worked for you!

👀 We all scream for eye cream!!
I’m 28 and so far (knock on wood) have been very lucky in the eye department - minimal dark circles, no puffiness, and minimal wrinkles. It took me a while to get into eye creams because there’s no specific issue I’m targeting, but I finally decided that preventative work is better that restorative and took the plunge. Here are the products I’ve been on my eyes: The main product I use is YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Hydrate + Firm Peptide Eye Cream It is a thick white cream that has yttp’s signature superfood blend (lots of antioxidants from kale and spinach), aloe to boost moisture, and tripeptide to build collagen. I use about a grain of rice between my two ring fingers and tap all around my eyes - it sinks in quickly for how rich the product feels! This leaves the skin around my eyes super hydrated without any heaviness. The biggest complaint I’ve seen about this product is that it’s a great eye cream for someone who doesn’t need an eye cream...aka for me! I don’t see a huge ‘change’ from using this product, but it feels amazing and keeps the skin around my eyes hydrated which is really what I’m looking for at this point. I also got a sample of BIOSSANCE - BIOSSANCE Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel and have been testing it out for a little while. This is full of squalane to lock in moisture, peptides which are good for collagen production, and apple stem cell extract which biossance says will reduce fine lines. The texture is a light gel that quickly melts into a liquid on contact. My biggest issue with this eye gel is that it takes forever to sink in, and I am using a tiny drop across both eyes. I don’t wear makeup, but if you were trying to layer it on top, biossance recommends waiting a full 1-2 minutes which makes sense since that’s about how long I need before this isn’t wet on top of my skin. In terms of results, this eye gel is targeted at dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness. Like the yttp eye cream, I think it’s main benefit is hydration, but I have seen the tiniest bit of brightening. Finally, on the occasional day that I wake up with dark circles bad enough that I notice them, I use dr. brandt - No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel which comes out of the tube as a thick orange cream. Points off because it’s difficult to dispense and has zero long term benefits, but for a daily fix, this stuff works great. I massage a tiny bit between two fingers for about 30 seconds because it comes out of the tube very firm, then tap it into my under eye area. The color correction works great - does not go on super orange - and I feel a slight firming sensation combatting puffiness. I got this in a subscription box so I probably wouldn’t buy it myself, but like using it occasionally! What’s your favorite eye cream?!

Drugstore VS High End Face Masks
Do you have a favorite face scrub?? I wanted to compare some high-end, more expensive scrubs like Farmacy vs. drugstore like Burts Bees 🐝 So I really liked the Burts Bees! I use in the shower and it feels like it does the job! Although, I’m always reading about those little beads that aren’t good for your skin so be careful! Farmacy’s mask is a little drying! One thing about it is that it changes colors which is cool (and good marketing). It’s has Vitamin C which is a plus but I don’t think my dry skin likes it. For the Honest Beauty mask, it smells like berries and supposedly a good priming mask before your makeup. However, it’s so damn hard to take off! I have to use a konjac sponge which actually has turned into a nice routine! 🍇 The Evolve Radiance Mask is AMAZING! Smells legit like brownie mix! You only leave on for 5-10 mins and your skin feels great after. And it’s a clean brand! 🎂 Lastly, I like the YTTP masks! However, not sure if the green mask detoxes my face as well as it should. Though, it still feels great and doesn’t feel stripping! As for the overnight mask, feels and smells great! It has Vitamin C in it so if you’re already using a serum, just be careful 🥬🥬🥬 I chose these brands because they’re the closest (or they are) to clean beauty! If you want clean, you have to pay attention closely to ingredients! Don’t get brands/products with ingredients such as alcohol, PEG’s, parabens, fragrance, etc ✖️

I love Youth to the People’s s
I love Youth to the People’s superfood approach to skincare— adding the powerful foods we eat for body nutrition into skincare to boost skin health. Their products are 100% vegan, natural, nontoxic, cruelty-free, sustainable & ethically-sourced. 🌿 — 🌱Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser ($36 for 8oz or $10 for 2oz): Probably my favorite cleanser of the year?? Or top 3 at the very least. Super gentle but rich in nutrients, this is an amazing non-drying cleanser that balances the skin’s pH levels. ⠀ 🌱Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist ($42 for 4oz): Definitely my favorite mist!! I like that this is essentially a powerful hydrating serum in a mist form. The mist is super fine though, so you have to spray quite a bit to feel adequately quenched. ⠀ 🌱Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask ($48 for 2oz): Such a rich & creamy sleeping mask that hydrates, plumps & brightens the skin overnight. I always wake up with supple, glowing skin after using this! ⠀ 🌱Superfood Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer ($48 for 2oz): A lightweight, whipped cream that is loaded with superfoods like kale, spinach & green tea. A solid, refreshing moisturizer great for dry or mature skin. I loved this during the summer for a lighter but still ultra-hydrating option, but tend to reach for richer products in the winter. ⠀ 🌱Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream ($58 for 2oz): I didn’t notice any improvements in my skin while using this so I rarely reach for it. However, the adaptogens like reishi, ashwagandha, rhodiola & holy basil provide benefits like protecting the skin from environmental stressors like UV rays & pollutants, which makes it difficult to see visible results. This may just be one of those that I have to trust is working! But I prefer their Superfood moisturizer for more instant results. ⠀ 🌱Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliating Power Toner ($38 for 4oz): This has 8% lactic acid & 3% glycolic acid to smooth & firm the skin. Full review on this to come; I’ve only tried it a few times & my skin reacted a bit.

So I had a good, simple routine for a long time and my skin was great! Then I moved and now my skin is so much different. I’ve been using tons of products trying to get results but I think I’ve been tormenting my skin and not giving any one product enough of a chance to do it’s thing so I’m trying to simplify. Right now my skin is dry, dehydrated, red and bumpy and my pores have gotten huge and black and icky and I’m really frustrated. I like to think that I’m knowledgeable about skincare but I still have a lot to learn. If you have any thoughts on my current products that would help the most! I have a lot and need a real routine. AM routine: Rinse my face with water. If I’m oily (which isn’t often) I will go in with THAYERS - Lavender Facial Toner but only on my t-zone, my cheeks can’t handle it. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream VERSED - Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum a little greasy but non irritating and only if I go outside. PM: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm only if I wear makeup and spf For cleansers I’ve been using DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Too Faced - Hangover Wash The Day Away Gentle Foaming Cleanser I also have a sample size of belif - Aqua Bomb Jelly CleanserI haven’t used and sometimes I will VERY GENTLY scrub with fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash I have 3 different toners, I use fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner but it’s started to sting a bit with all the fragrance. I just purchased LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizerand also GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Tonerwhich I want to incorporate instead. Maybe alternate? I loved FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry but I think it went bad bc it stings so much now. I use PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum every day but I might switch to DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serumthoughts? YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi never switching! other products I own: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping MaskGLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask ORIGINS - Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream I DEW CARE - Cake My Day Hydrating Sprinkle Wash-Off Mask DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

A brand that’s WORTH it!

I’ve
A brand that’s WORTH it! I’ve fallen in love with Youth to the People. I’ve been so lucky to test out these amazing products of theirs. I love that they’re a cruelty free brand. They’re also committed to be eco friendly with their glass recyclable packaging, even in their minis! I enjoy all of these products but the few that stand out to me are YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask This mask is wonderful. Thick, creamy and hydrating it keeps my skin happy overnight! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil This oil is the perfect oil to top off your nighttime routine, and it pairs so well with the mask YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser a wonderful cleanser. Cleans skin, removes all makeup without irritating skin or eyes, doesn’t leave skin feeling stripped and dry. These are all products that I would absolutely purchase again in the future. I look forward to see what this brand continues to come up with

Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cl
Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser & Kale-Lalu-yAHA 🌿 This jelly textured cleanser is a joy to use. It’s never drying nor strips the skin. I end up with skin that’s clean, hydrated and soft. This cleanser contains antioxidant powerhouse matcha. Matcha is a form of green tea with an exponential number of antioxidants like polyphenols such as EGCG in comparison to regular green tea. The green tea plants are grown in the shade for a few weeks prior to processing which increases the chlorophyll levels 🍵 This cleanser is perfect if you want a gentle cleanser packed full of antioxidants that won’t dry your skin out. The texture is just plain fun! I love acid toners as I prefer chemical exfoliation. Kale-Lalu-yAHA uses 5.25% glycolic acid to gently yet effectively exfoliate the skin. I love that this acid toner also contains antioxidant packed dark leafy greens like kale, spinach and parsley. It’s well rounded as it’s combined with soothers and hydrators like hyaluronic acid, aloe, allantoin and B5. There’s a few extras like chlorella minutissima extract (an antioxidant packed algae) & malachite extract—a powerful antioxidant that seeks out free radicals。 Kale-Lalu-yAHA has become my all time favorite acid toner (besides P50) for its ability to be effective and gentle at the same time!

My go-to AM skincare routine for sensitive skin
My go-to AM skincare routine for sensitive skin
Guys. I swear with everything happening recently my face has gone into a complete spiral. I have been bringing JUST the bare necessities to heal up my skin and if I don’t see improvement in the next few weeks then it’s time for another dermatologist appointment. However, with good routines that focus more on healing my skin, I’m feeling more comfortable, less dry, and less red. My skin type is combination (dry on my jawline, chin and forehead, oily in my t-zone, and rosacea on my cheeks under my eyes) in the winter/spring while leaning more oily/normal in the summer and fall. My skin is VERY sensitive (have been all my life, even consulting with doctors for years) and my skin is prone to allergic reactions to many natural and organic ingredients. This routine is my go-to for daily use of my skin is looking dull or flaky/dry. CLEANSER: HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash Holifrog is a company who only makes facial cleansers...either crazy or amazing, right? Well this cleanser is amazing for dry and dehydrated skin! It’s a milky cleanser that doesn’t leave your skin stripped or tight feeling. I use it with my FOREO device to really get into my pores. I’m rating it 4 stars because it’s ~$38 and the floral scent is a bit harsh but it hasn’t irritated my skin at all. TONER: INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner This COQ-10 toner from indie lee is a hydrating toner with Hyaluronic acid and coq-10 enzymes which act as an antioxidant to help protect your skin! It does have some essential oils in it but they’re at the very bottom of the ingredient list and nothing has negatively affected my skin so far. The texture is very watery like a toner and there is no harsh smell. It’s a HUGE bottle (4.3oz) and after using it for over a month now I still have over 90% of the bottle left. INSANE! I apply it by spraying 2-4 spritzes into my hand and pressing it into my skin. For the amount you get and the benefits I’ve seen for my skin, $34 for this seems like a steal to me. 5/5! MOISTURE/OIL: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil Seeeeriously, this oil is next level. I’m still looking for a good moisturizer that checks all my boxes so sometimes I’ll just go straight for an oil but a lot of them are too heavy. Biossance’s squalane oil is 100% plant derived and it sinks in SO WELL to the skin! The oil itself isn’t too light or too heavy and just feels comfortable on the skin. There is a slight floral scent, but it’s not super noticeable (the Holifrog cleanser is 20x more fragrant in my opinion).I only need 2-3 drops to cover my entire face and this bottle lasts SO LONG! It’s a bit pricey at $72 BUT if you’re looking for something high quality and want to “treat yo self” this is a fantastic option. I would suggest buying a mini size on biossance’s website before buying full size to test it out! 5/5 Of course I top it off with an SPF! What’s your AM routine?
