Wake up with glowy (but not oily) skin 😴
I👏🏼am👏🏼obsessed👏🏼with👏🏼glowy👏🏼skin. I am always trying to find products that give me super glowy and bright skin. I’ve really enjoyed vitamin c products and specifically with the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C SerumI think their combo of vitamin c and vitamin e is amazing (but $$$). So I’m always looking for ways to obtain a similar result. Enter, freshly juiced vitamin e mask! The good: + The texture is SO cool. It’s almost like a jello consistency and then when you start to work it in with your hands it melts into this more watery texture. It’s very cool, I haven’t tried a product like it before. + Very lightweight on the skin. + When I combine this with a vitamin c serum at night, I will wake up and my skin feels so smooth and bright. I always feel good about my skin the next morning. + Key ingredients include: vitamin e (antioxidant that brightens and works well with vitamin c), niacinimide (brightens and controls oil) and adenosine (claims to help with anti-aging). + Definitely appears to be helping my vitamin c fade some of my acne scars. There’s one in particular on my forehead that I’ve noticed a huge change in over the last few weeks. + A little goes a long way. The not so good? - I believe this is advertised as both a moisturizer and a sleeping mask. I think honestly this works best as a sleeping mask. - If you cant stand products with a slightly sticky texture, this might not be for you. - Although they claim Adenosine is a key ingredient, it’s fairly far down the ingredient list. - If you are sensitive to essential oils, I would also stay away because this product definitely has some citrus oils included (although it does smell very nice). Is it worth it? So this mask is around $25-$30 depending on where you buy it. I do think that’s a pretty fair price point actually! A little goes a long way when you use the product and the results are good. To me, worth it! Will I repurchase? If this continues to help with my acne scars, then yes, 100%. Ps I have combination (right now, it seems more oily than usual) and acne prone skin.

The Best of Vitamin C serums

COMPARISON | 🤔Is the Naturium Vitamin C a dupe?
The SkinCeutical’s Vitamin C serum is known for its EXPENSIVE (yes I really mean EXPENSIVE) yet amazing patented formula. Is the Naturium Vitamin C an adequate dupe? BEFORE WE CONTINUE: Yes, I know about Susan Yara’s unethical launch of Naturium. This post is not meant to support or attack her - this is only comparing what we know of each serum. I personally wouldn’t buy from Naturium because they mislead their customers. SHORT ANSWER - Naturium’s Vitamin C is NOWHERE near comparable to SkinCeuticals Vitamin C (let alone other popular vitamin c serums) ⬇️ Scroll all the way down to skip everything⬇️ What is similar about these serums? They both contain ascorbic acid. What makes ascorbic acid different from other forms of vitamin c is that is has the most scientific studies proving that it will work. THERE IS A CATCH THOUGH - Ascorbic acid is a very tricky and unstable ingredient so it will go bad fast without proper formulation. Why is SkinCeuticals significantly more expensive? It is at a higher price point due to the fact that their formula is PATENTED and it’s formula is well known for being stable. Naturium’s Vitamin C uses “encapsulation technology” (basically their vitamin C releases slowly) but this isn’t something super innovative that Naturium itself created. They claim that this is why their vitamin c can be formulated at such a high percentage without much irritation. ⬇️For people who just want to hear the real tea⬇️ 🛑What’s the catch with Naturium’s Vitamin C? 🛑 Naturium’s Vitamin C has a blend of Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Ascorbic acid. Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a DERIVATIVE (this doesn’t mean it’s not effective it just means it’s not as well studies as the real deal Vitamin C) Derivatives are a lot easier to formulate with, but are not as reliable. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS SKETCHY Naturium’s ingredients list has the derivative ABOVE the real deal ascorbic acid. Ingredient list are always labeled from highest to lowest concentration. However this wouldn’t be an issue but.... Naturium REFUSES TO DISCLOSE THE AMOUNT OF DERIVATIVE IN THEIR FORMULA. This is extremely shady since you want to know what you’re getting. They claim they have 22% Vitamin C, but as far as we know they could be putting in 20% of the derivatives and 2% of the real stuff. WHAT ANNOYS ME MOST: NATURIUM REFUSES TO DISCLOSE PERCENTAGES OF THEIR ACTIVES EVEN WHEN I EMAIL THEM (see the other photo) In summary, I wouldn’t support Naturium, and their Vitamin C is nowhere near as reliable as the SkinCeuticals or any other brand’s. What do you think? Leave a comment :) I’m always happy to hear your thoughts EDIT: Naturium claims to not disclose their percentages to protect their formula. However I have talked to multiple experts who say that disclosing the percentages of ascorbic acid and derivatives alone would not compromise their fomula.
Let’s first start with a major component in “preventing” pigmentation which is sunscreen. It prevents photo damage that leads to brown spots and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My absolute favorite sunscreen and the one I have been using personally for 10 years is elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Retinoids- They work by increasing the rate of cell turnover. It helps to fade dark spots, acne marks, melasma, sun spots, and liver spots. Just be careful since retinoids can also cause irritation and redness, you don’t want to cause any more pigmentation to your skin. A good over the counter retinoid is DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump which once used to be a prescription, is now available over the counter. Glycolic acid- A popular ingredient used in many skincare products because it works so well at reducing discoloration, getting rid of dead skin cells, and creating new skin cells. It keeps pores clean and reduces hyperpigmentation. A favorite, super affordable, and one I also use personally is The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Be careful because it may not be suitable for all especially sensitive and darker skin types. Azelaic acid- Believed to work just as good as hydroquinone. It speeds up cell turnover and reduces inflammation. A great acid for all skin types and even safe to use during pregnancy. A great option is PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I love adding a drop or two to my moisturizer. Vitamin c- A holy grail ingredient for many and myself. A vital component of any skincare routine. Vitamin C works a lot like retinol, inhibiting the production of melanin. Not only does it lighten dark spots, it helps to brighten your complexion. Vitamin C helps to prevent hyperpigmentation, and is most helpful when used in the AM. My absolute favorite hands down is SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum I have yet to find me a better vitamin c serum. Kojic acid- This also like retinol and vitamin c reduces the production of melanin. This ingredient is also a favorite in products because of how well it works to even skin tone, treat acne and acne marks. A favorite product SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid Alpha Arbutin- it works by decreasing the activity of melanocytes. Alpha Arbutin is known to safely and visibly brighten skin and fade pigmentation. It reduces melanin formation, improves appearance of age spots, freckles, melasma, and post inflammatory pigmentation. An amazing and affordable product is THE inkey LIST - Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum It is a great simple formulation, and super affordable. Incorporate one or more of these ingredients into your skincare routine to achieve great results in reducing pigmentation
Battle of the sleeping masks: COSRX or Missha?
I’ll start off by saying I think a “sleeping mask” is such extra rebranding of moisturizer lmao... because that’s literally all it is. 🤣 but nonetheless I still like a good “sleeping mask” because A) sometimes I’ll use the Cerave AM moisturizer with SPF during the day and obvi don’t need SPF overnight B) if I use 2 separate moisturizers AM and PM, they’ll both last longer 🤗 C) I like to use a more lightweight moisturizer during the day and a thicker more occlusive one at night. D) I can never have too many moisturizers bc I am a DRY girly! I tried the COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask before and liked it a lot! It’s definitely very lightweight but I didn’t think it felt any different than any other moisturizer. I’ve been using the MISSHA - Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask since March and love it! It’s thicker and definitely very hydrating. I think when I run out of the Missha, I may either try the dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Maskor repurchase the COSRX, just because I am eager to try the Klairs one and I like the price point of Cosrx, like that it has niacinamide and already know I like the texture! What are your thoughts on sleeping masks, is it part of your routine or just too extra? 😂😂
Vitamin C and how to improve its effects
I’ve been obsessed with vitamin C as a skincare ingredient due to its ability to 🍊improve fine lines and wrinkles 🍊reduce pigmentation 🍊boost collagen 🍊protect skin from free radicals 🍊reduce redness 🍊hydrate the skin 🍊fortify skin barrier For me, it’s the perfect ingredient for brightening the skin and lightening post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (which I get super easily)! However, I only just learnt recently that combining vitamin E with vitamin C can increase the efficacy of vitamin C by up to 4 times it’s original effect!!! 🤭 Both ingredients work together to increase antioxidant capacity and increase collagen production‼️ Since learning this little beauty secret, I have changed my skincare routine to incorporate both skin loving ingredients. I use a vitamin C serum and follow it up with a vitamin E face cream. The vitamin E face cream I’ve been loving is the dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask . Not only does it have Vitamin E, it also contains niacinamide, (which I will talk about more in another post 😉) which also helps to fade dark spots on the skin. Let me know if you knew about this fun fact and tell me what products you’ve been combining to see the best results! ❤️
The rage is real✨
PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster Paula’s choice 10% niacinamide booster is another product that has totally transformed my skin. Despite the price point, this product delivers 100% by minimizing the appearance of pores and aiding in the texture of skin. It has brightened up my skin within 2 months of using the niacinamide booster continuously. Within 6 months of using this product on a daily routine, you will see a significance difference in the sizes of your pores. In addition, the consistency of the product is somewhat oily which helps with hydration and leaves the skin looking healthy as ever. ——————————————— How to use? This particular product is best to use during the morning. Add this into your morning skin routine: cleanse tone drops of niacinamide moisturizer if needed SPF of 50 or higher ——————————————— Results As mentioned above, this product delivers the most. The appearance of my pores have significant decreased and I am so happy with how well this product fit right into my skin. It does not irritate the skin or feel greasy whatsoever. ———————————————— Recommend 95% If you have dehydrated skin and large pores and you’re looking to minimize the appearance of your pores, definitely invest in this product! The reason I say this product is a better fit for those with dry skin is because the consistency of the product is oily and I’m not sure how well it would work on someone with oily skin. Furthermore, the price point of this product is fairly expensive for the amount of product you receive. Regardless, it makes a huge difference on your skin and is worth it for these skin concerns!

Get glowing skin with this essence
My skin is dry/acne prone and a bit sensitive. This essence is supposed to moisturize, brighten, and protect the skin with antioxidants. It’s very lightweight pink water that absorbs instantly into the skin. This goes right after cleansing and before any serums. I used this every day for a few weeks and my skin was glowy all day every day. Like glow from within kind of glow. Also really helped with my hormonal acne. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who has acne or wants a glow. #cheriecreator Then I met you - The Giving Essence

Perfect if your skincare is missing hydration!
This was one of the first products that I actually bought for the ingredient list instead of hype. WHICH IS HOW I SHOULD SHOP FOR SKINCARE. This product has antioxidants, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and allantonin. All of these ingredients are amazing for hydrating the skin and decreasing sensitivity, both totally needed for my skin! I would really say this product would be appropriate for all skin types, even oily because of the addition of niacinamide. HOWEVER those with a confirmed case (please go to a doctor for this quit self-diagnosing, guys) of malassezia (pityrosporum) folliculitis or fungal “acne” should NOT use this product as the galactomyces can feed the yeast and exacerbate the problem. This product is a little sticky feeling on the skin and feels kind of gross at first because I live in SUCH a humid tropical climate but I have adjusted to it. I did take a star for that because it says essence and feels like a quite sticky serum. No fragrance and a great balance of naturally derived products and stable lab ingredients make for an excellent product. This is a perfect inexpensive step (I got it for $17 USD on Amazon) for anyone wanting to experiment with K-Beauty but is reactive/sensitive! COSRX - Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence

Swipe left for texture shots 🔙 This Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule by Dr. Ceuracle @dr.ceuracle_global Dr.Ceuracle - Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule is Amazing!!! This is a Korean brand and product⭐ The name is given with the ingredients it has! This small ampoule works great on skin without requiring a large amount in single application. Only two-three drops go a long way and they work great by giving the skin a natural radiant glow and brightened complexion. ✨Ingredients breakdown: 1. 33.5% Propolis extract + Royal jelly extract (Propolis is made by bees to protect their hives from external factors) - This has rich Anti-oxidant properties. Also it helps amazingly to relieve Irritated, sensitive skin with eliminating redness and rosacea. 2. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Panthenol (Vitamin B5) and Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C derivative) - This concussion is very well known for boosting radiance and brightening complexion, also this helps in getting rid of Hyperpigmentation and dark spots. 3. Rose Centifolia flower water - Helps in calming and hydrating irritated skin. ✨My experience: 1. The formula is so unique it starts as watery consistency and applies like a lightweight oil similar to Squalane. 2. Doesn't feel greasy or heavy. 3. Doesn't irritate or burn skin. 4. Gives that instant glow because of the oily consistency. 5. Works amazing over the time by brightening dull skin and leaves skin looking plump and healthy. 6. The bottle is very small but you don't require a lot of product. So it goes a long way. Apply this as the last step in your routine or before moisturiser and it won't even feel on the skin. Over all I loved the skin science behind this formula, it's very unique and effective!! ❤

I wanted to share with you today my final thoughts about the klairs serum. I have posted a short review of it some time ago, but didn't like the photo and also some of you may not have seen it so I decided to post it again 😄 🍋 Star ingredients: Vitamin C - Ascorbic Acid (5%), Centella Asiatica Extract and many different fruit and roots extracts 🍋 Consistency: something like a dry oil, absorbs well but not to completely matte finish, pH level of 3.81 🍋 Performance: This was my first Vitamin C serum and at first I was afraid of this ingredient a bit because of my sensitive face. But this one never irritated my skin and it is super gentle. Regarding the effects, I really love how my skin is bright and calmed after using it. It works very well under make up and never turns my skin oily - I would say it's the opposite, keeps my sebum under control. I think it prevents hyperpigmentation a bit, but it wouldn't handle my stubborn post acne spots alone. I mostly use it in the morning (as they say vit C enhance the function of SPF) but when I leave it for the night, the skin is brighter, plump and complexion is more even the next morning 😊 🍋 TIP: It is best to keep it in the fridge as if you won't store it properly it may oxidize quickly! Overall this is a definitely 5 out of 5 to me and did I mention that it is my second bottle already? 💛 Now I want to try a serum with higher concentration of vitamin C but still, highly recommend this one!! Great introduction to those who want to start their journey with vitamin C 😊

I CC you Summer Fridays
What I noticed right away with this serum is that is has a lovely gentle scent! It’s just smells fresh and slightly citric without smelling like a real fragrance. It’s a regular serum consistency as its a bit thicker than a toner and is milky white. I didn’t have any reaction or irritation to this product which is huge for me! My skin has been bright and dewy and extra soft since I incorporated this into my routine. But what really gets me is that there is an actual reduction in the redness (thanks niacinamide!) and a reduction in the scarring thanks to the vitamin c! All in all I think this is a beautiful and simple way to get some necessary vitamin c! It’s the cutest little package too 🧡SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C Serum
