A perfect daily sunscreen
The sunscreen obsession continues...Ever since I got the soft airy UV essence I haven’t reached for anything else. The name almost perfectly describes this SPF, as it really is soft and airy on the skin. The good: + 50 SPF and broad spectrum protection. + This glides on SO easily. It looks kind of like a white cream when you first squeeze it out, but then it just magically disappears into the skin. + Absolutely no white cast and doesn’t leave behind a shiny residue. + After I put this on, I swear my skin feels so soft! + It’s great for reapplication, I feel like it doesn’t affect my makeup at all underneath (note: I typically go for minimal / makeup these days). It smooths over any makeup super easily. And it won’t pill under makeup. + Doesn’t clog my pores or causes breakouts (I was fairly confident since this has a more gel-like texture like my daily moisturizers). I believe this product has niacinimide which has been proven to help with excess sebum production. + Its alcohol-free! The not so good: - I believe this one has some essential oil in it... but I don’t find it irritating at all so I’m willing to ignore that part. - Like most kbeauty skincare products, I need to order this online, so the wait is almost always 2-3 weeks for delivery. Is it worth it? Yus. Although it’s around $34 CAD, it is a bigger bottle (80ml of product versus my other kbeauty sunscreens which are 50ml of product). AND it works well and doesn’t break me out. Would I repurchase? Definitely. I feel like this is worth every penny which makes me feel more inclined to reapply a good amount each day. Which is essentially the point of sunscreen so I think it’s probably a good thing. Ps I have combination, acne prone skin :)

My empties and its replacements 👀
Hi everyone!!! I wanted to round up a few products that I’ve used and emptied (or nearly emptied) in the past few months and share a few thoughts and what I’ve replaced them with 👀. All these products got the BOOT from my skincare routine - not bc they sucked but bc I’ve want to try something new and see what all the rage is about in these products I’ve picked up! Toner So I recently learned from@skindocminaand@Culskinthat toner isn’t necessary 😂 but I’ve seen really great things about the Neogen real ferment essence. My favorite k-beauty bloggers mentioned it and so I wanted to try. So far, I really love the texture of the toner because it’s not extremely watery where it slips right off, but it’s got a littttle bit of density to it. The indie Lee toner is alright, no complaints! Really love the spritzer bottle but the product itself is average IMO! Moisturizer ive been really on the hunt for a nice, rich moisturizer for the winter months. This indie Lee moisturizer was just alright for me. It has a little bit of a pepperminty smell but it doesn’t really run into the skin quite well. It leaves a white cast if it’s not worked into the skin. I’ve seen so many rave reviews of this moisturizer from the likes of Hyram and others, so I had to try! I haven’t opened yet but will let you know 😀 Sunscreen Sunscreen is CRUCIAL everyday, every season. I’ve used up my Supergoop completely and though it feels nice on the skin, I almost feel paranoid that it’s clogging my pores since it acts like a primer as well. Because I’m not wearing makeup these days, I want a more light, breathable sunscreen. I’ve heard this Klairs one is amazing, so I had to try! Have you tried any of these? How did you like them??
quick post-workout skincare - it’s important!
As a D3 student-athlete (any fellow lax players on here??), weightlifting and working out is a huge part of my life, and since delving more into skincare, I’ve realized how important post-workout skincare is. Since we are in quarantine, I work out at home, but during normal times, I’d be in a gym with lots of other people’s sweat and germs all around me, and that’s just not fun for skin! A lot of the time I’ll have to wake up at 5:30am to do a morning lift, and often I’ll have to do a practice in the afternoon, and I’ve found that this routine works for any time of the day if I don’t have time to do a full wash-up right after. So here’s what I do to take care of my skin after a workout—whether that be at home, at a gym, or on the field! I typically start off by splashing my face with water and use a clean washcloth to gently tap my face dry. I wet the washcloth and wipe the sweat from my chest and back. Then, I go in with my GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water to clean off that sweat and dirt. Next, I use #BOBBI BROWN - Face Mist[products]#[FiveStars] to calm and hydrate. I’m running out of this face mist so I might consider making my own face mist or buy the J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray because I’ve heard good things about it. Finally, I seal in the moisture with The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil . If the sun is still out, I will layer on a sunscreen because that is literally the most important step! I love dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ , although with the Purito controversy, there is concern that it’s not as protective as they claim. Another sunscreen that’s ok to use is Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 . If I feel I need it, I might use some PANTENE - Never Tell Dry Shampoo to just freshen up my hair a bit. This routine just ties me over until I can take my nightly shower and do my nightly routine. It certainly leaves me feeling refreshed and ready for the ready of the day, especially after exhausting workouts!
TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++ As you can see i love tatcha products. This sunscreen does not leave a white cast or leave a greasy residue after you apply it. Its lightweight and blends so beautifully, leaving poreless looking skin. It contains Japanese wild rose - tightens pores and smooths skin texture; loquat leaf extract - rich source of antioxidants to protect and calm skin. Tatcha’s sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide 15% (suggested percentage is 15%-20%) is a mineral based sunscreen, it reflects harmful UVA/UVB rays off the surface of the skin. Zinc oxide has one of the broadest spectrum protective qualities. Also, zinc oxide is non-comedogenic, which means its unlikely to cause breakouts or acne! Another top ingredient in Tatcha’s sunscreen is Octisalate 5%, an emollient that keeps skin soft and prevents the formula from degrading in the sun. And obviously their other main ingredient is Japanese wild rose, which supports natural circulation and calms with antioxidants. I am on my second tube and would definitely repurchase. I love this sunscreen addition to my skin care routine. Its $65 for a 60ml tube, i know steep, but it’s so good. Also, important to reapply every 2 hours while exposed to sun!

My favorite sunscreen for ALL skin types🙌🏼🌞
When you’re out in the sun it’s so so sooo important to wear SPF. I covered a lot of this information in my previous post about sunscreen, but i got a lot of questions asking for good sunscreens for sensitive skin. Elta MD is by far my favorite one. It is perfect for any skin type, especially those with sensitive skin and acne prone skin. EltaMD UV Clear helps calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to discoloration and breakouts associated to acne and rosacea. It contains niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid and lactic acid, ingredients that promote the appearance of healthy-looking skin! It’s so lightweight and doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin at all 🙌🏼. It’s seriously great! Their full body sunscreen is amazing as well, I truly love this brand for SPF💕 #sunscreen #SPF #CherieCreator elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46

Tatcha Silken Sunscreen
My love for all things Tatcha is pretty strong! Their Silken Sunscreen is used to protect your skin from the sun. It also has ingredients that work to help with anti-aging and truly leaves your skin silky after application. It almost feels like a nice matte primer. It is silky and smooth in texture and applies beautifully. This is my second bottle of this sunscreen. I've been using it for about a year now. I was intrigued by its claims to leave you with a matte silky finish as most sunscreens tend to leave me greasy after an hour or so. I absolutely love this product. It works so well with my skin and doesnt break me out. It doesnt leave any white cast after it dries. It's priced pretty high at $65 for 2 ounces, so I can't say that I'd recommend it to everyone. Tatcha does sell a smaller deluxe sample size, so if you cant commit to the full price, that would be a great opportunity. I read that there may be other matte sunscreens out there, so I may purchase a different brand once this bottle runs out! 4.5/5 stars!TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++

Two MUST Have Mineral Sunscreens
I’m lucky enough to have started my skincare journey much earlier in life than most people. I’ve been wearing sunscreen daily since I was about 15 years old, but just recently got into mineral sunscreens as I’ve heard they suit oily, acne prone skin better. I also think that the zinc oxide used in mineral sunscreens really helps ease any sensitive I may have from acne breakouts, which is a major plus. PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block This is a really, really beautiful mineral sunscreen with few ingredients and to me, it feels the most luxurious and “non-sunscreeny” between the two. It really does feel like you’re applying a watery creamy on to your skin, which is great for someone like me who as oilier skin. It’s not heavy or greasy in the least and blends in super quickly. Its perfect for oilier skin as it’s oil-free and dries down a bit more matte. It’s also unscented which I love! The only reason I didn’t give this one five stars is because it tends to cake up around oilier areas such as the creases of my nose and sometimes in my eyebrows. Unfortunately, it will leave a slight white cast on darker skin tones, especially if not rubbed in properly, so keep this in mind! elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 This has got to be one of the best, if not THE best mineral sunscreen out there right now. What I love most about this one is the smooth, silky texture and how moisturizing, yet not oily this is. It gives oily skin that healthy sheen that ppl with dry skin can pull off effortlessly without looking like they sprayed a can of Pam on their foreheads. It also has a beautiful ingredients list with niacinamide high up on the list, which is always a plus! Great for sensitive and acne prone skin types as well I want to add that neither of these products irritates my eyes; I have oily eyelids and sensitive eyes and sunscreen seeping into my eyes is a daily occurrence 🙄

Sun damage? We don’t know her 🙆🏼♀️
Meet my absolutely favorite sunscreen! Paulas choice youth extending hydrating fluid SPF 50. This sunscreen is a super thin formula that contains antioxidants and broad spectrum sun protection to prevent sun damage and early signs of aging. It also contains glycerin making it hydrating and free of any fragrance! This has a thin water like texture that leaves a dewy finish on the skin and sinks right in! Because of the super thin texture, it is perfect to use under make up or on its own! I have been using this product for about six months now and a little goes a long way. With it’s super gentle formula, it does not give me any irritation or breakouts. I cannot recommend this enough! Paulas choice makes some of my favorite sunscreens and what I love is this one is great for all skin types. This retails for $33 however I always purchase from her site when they offer a discount code, which is pretty often! This SPF will forever be a staple in my routine ☺️ 5/5 stars 🤩 PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid

Top 5 sunscreen - especially for acne-prone skin
Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I will be the first to admit that I was not serious about sun protection in my youth, but now I’m on the sunscreen train and never coming off. One of the reasons why I never wanted to wear face sunscreen was because it would leave me with inevitable breakouts. It took me a long time to find formulas that work with my skin and Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen is now my go-to. 💛💛💛 What I really love about it is that it’s oil-free and doubles as a makeup primer. It literally glides across the skin with its velvety formula and leaves it prepped for makeup, so you don’t have to worry about layering anything on top of it and potentially overwhelming your pores. (I do, however, add a little bit of a glowing on top of it to my high points for a dewier glow but Unseen Sunscreen has the rest of your skin covered!) 💛💛💛 The only thing I cannot vouch for is it’s shine controlling properties. My skin is oily enough to begin with and if it’s a stressful or sweaty day, there’s nothing that can stop my shine (this low-key sounds inspirational?? Lol) 💛💛💛 I would definitely recommend to a friend, especially if they have acne-prone skin. It's a little expensive ($32) compared to other sunscreens, but it really works and a little goes a loooong way.
