My acne fighting duo for under $20

Some acne honesty: Although these worked really well for me, they might not work for everyone. Your skin is unique and might react better to different products. It can be a really frustrating process, I totally get it! What worked for me was finding someone online who had a similar skin type and similar story when it came to acne. Just always remember to take it easy on yourself. Acne is normal and it doesn’t make you any less beautiful. My current skin situation: I currently have combination, acne prone skin. I had very clear skin for most of my life until I went off birth control over a year ago now. I tried almost everything to try and get rid of my acne, but it took months to find a solution. It was just earlier this year that I finally found a couple products that helped keep acne at bay! I barely gets zits anymore (bless) but when I do, it can be very discouraging. My skin scars very very easily and it takes at least a month to get rid of the scars left over from the acne. SO anytime I see a zit pop up, I reach for these two products which help me 1) get rid of that zit quickly and 2) minimize the potential for future acne scars. How I use these together: Benzagel - Acne Gel 5%
(face wash version) I usually use this just at night time because I just do a water cleanse in the morning. But when I get a pimple, during the morning I’ll cover the zit with the face wash for about a minute then wash that off. Then I’ll proceed with the rest of my routine, but I’ll avoid using any vitamin c / spf on the pimple. And then this where I’ll add the.... COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch
When I have a zit I will wear one of these during the day and a new one at night. It’s a grossly satisfying product because once you take them off, you can see the amount of oils that it has pulled from the skin / zit (you’ll see a white blob on the patch). The effects: After just 24 hours, the zit will almost fully disappear when I use the two of these together. The spot will be so much smaller than it is when I let the acne heal itself and the scarring is minimal, if noticeable at all. Which is amazing considering my normal pimples almost always scar (even if I DONT pop them). The best part: You can get both of these products for less than $10 CAD!

help me with blackheads, fungal acne, pores!
can anyone help me get rid of these blackheads, fungal acne, and large pores? i don’t know if what i’m using is making it or worse or helping. currently this is my nighttime skincare routine in order: #Amson Naturals - African Black Soap[products]#[FiveStars] dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Benzagel - Acne Gel 5% this was a great product when i first started using it about 3 years ago but it’s not supposed to be used after 6 months and doesn’t work as good as it did the first 6 months i was using it i also use PIXNOR - Facial Cleansing Brush when using the soap and for the morning routine it’s the same products but not the glycolic acid or lactic acid! this has been my skincare routine for over a year and although it has helped my skin it hasn’t gotten better than this in months i’ve tried using Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo to get rid of the fungal acne but it didn’t really help. i also tried AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay and i can admit i haven’t used it as often as i could have but even from the few times it hasn’t made much of a difference. i’ve also used The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution but again not much help. is there any other products i could use? is my routine making it worse? i’m not really sure what i’m doing is right. also if you have any recommendations for any eye creams i’d appreciate them!

a pimple patch that ACTUALLY works!
hey y’all! i’ve always been pretty skeptical about pimple patches. i figured they’d never work on my deep cystic acne, especially after using pimple patches such as zitsticka and peach slices... those didn’t seem to help at all. i decided to give pimple patches a second chance. i purchased two packs of these pimple patches from COSRX, and one pack of pimple patches from hero cosmetics. needless to say.... i will forever be re-purchasing these, especially because of how affordable they are: ONLY $6!!!!!! COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch these patches are waterproof spot patches that protect blemishes from bacteria and absorb impurities overnight while encouraging healthy skin hydration. one patch can significantly reduce the appearance of an unwanted blemish so you wake up to happier skin (ulta description). as you can see, i had a humongousssssss pimple on my forehead, that was quite literally sticking out of my forehead. it was big and hard, and was so painful. i popped one of these bad boys on and by the next morning, IT WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. you can’t really tell through the photo, but i’m telling you, it pulled ALL of the pus out, and my pimple was F L A T. my next post will be hero cosmetic’s pimple patches!

Laneige and Cosrx K-Brand Review
Finally used all these products for long enough to be able to give you guys my opinion on them! I ordered all of these from Nudie Glow- a Korean skincare site based in Australia! I bought the COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to help repair my skin barrier after burning my face with BENZAC - Moderate Strength 5% Acne Gel 🙃 and it soothed and calmed my skin within 2 days (I’ll do a post on saving my barrier soon). It’s consistency is sticky and goopy, pretty much exactly as you’d expect from snail mucin, but it dries down well and quickly. It’s fragrance free & the quantity of product is great. I used it in place of hyaluronic acid for a few weeks & did find that it wasn’t quite enough hydration, but teamed with HA it’s super plumping & sits under other products (and makeup) really well. The LANEIGE - Cream Skin Refiner I bought to replace my LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer . They seem to be the exact same product, all I could find online is that the Refiner is meant to be even more hydrating than the toner. I haven’t noticed too much of a difference between the two but my skin is still responding really well to this. I don’t use a cotton pad but just tap it directly onto my skin, it sinks in super fast and I’ve not had a single dry patch since using this. A repeat purchase for sure. I was a little disappointed by theCOSRX - Centella Blemish Cream . It smells amazing (kinda earthy/fresh) and I bought it to also help soothe my barrier repair, which it did do but in terms of reducing redness in blemishes it seems to have no effect. It’s a super thick, opaque cream that you’re meant to spot treat with but as I was finding it’s soothing properties the most effective I just apply a thin layer all over my cheeks before bed. It definitely can’t be worn in the day due to the heavy white cast it leaves. Finally the COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch have been really fun to use. I bought one sheet for $7AUD (but recently purchased another sheet on Amazon for $4AUD). It comes with a range of sizes, they’re all translucent circles. I would say they blend in quite well on fair skin, I even wore one to work once although someone did notice it eventually. They’re hydrocolloid patches meant to draw out impurities & offer a more hygienic alternative to popping pimples. They turn white over time on your skin which is the sign to take it off, but I did find that the patch would go white before having pulled anything out which did mean I wasted a couple thinking it was done. They are good at pulling white heads to the surface & keeping the spot protected from popping urges. They stay stuck on really well & have helped reduce scarring- although that could just be from preventing me from popping them, if you struggle with that I would highly recommend these! Let me know if you want more details! ✨

Good spot treatment
Good spot treatment
Spot treatment oil blend to help fight early stage & healing stage acne. For problem skin- whether you get the occasional pimple or have a full face of dots. It calms inflammation without being drying- and helps kill bacteria. Also has salicylic acid for exfoliation and deep cleaning pores. Texture is a watery, dry oil that dries down to an invisible layer. You can even apply through out the day and it won’t disrupt makeup. I’ve been using this for over 3 months. I was in need of a new spot treatment, and came across this one day at target. I do like it- it definitely helps a forming pimple turn to a ripe whitehead overnight. Then I use a warm washcloth compress to slowly drain (try not to pop). It gets rid of most zits for me in about 2 days, using once at morning once at night. The only con for me is it can sometimes be a bit hard to squeeze it out of the tube- the trick is to squeeze near the tip of the packaging and away from the base. Then the product will dispense perfectly. All in all this has worked very well for me- I would recommend to others! Price is $12.99 at target. Four stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rosen Break-Out
Rosen Break-Out
I bought this since one of my favorite skinstagrammers @breakfastatellies raves about it. It contains peppermint oil and zinc oxide in a paste form that you apply as a spot treatment. It supposedly works to help flatten bumps and lessen inflammation after a few days of treatment. However, I SWEAR by my COSRX blemish patches. So in comparison, this just doesn’t do it for me. Usually it just takes one patch to completely flatten a pimple for me (maybe a second round for a real nasty one), so why would I wait for this product to do the job in maybe a few days when I can get the results I want in one? I can see myself using this to help treat spots and bumps that aren’t ready for a patch yet, or larger areas that a patch won’t work for. But don’t expect this to dry up a blemish overnight by any means. I do enjoy the peppermint tingle though! Have you tried this?

✨ACNE PATCH✨Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch
✨ACNE PATCH✨Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch
The function of this Acne Pimple Master Patch is to heal acne and prevent breakouts. The waterproof patch also helps prevent infection of blemishes and absorbs impurities. These are great healing and treating current acne as well as preventing a full on breakout when applied in the early phase. The texture of the patch is thick and gummy. It doesn’t feel wet but they are very sticky. I used a few on some acne and some blemishes that were in the early stages. It absorbs one blemish and the other 2 were reduced significantly in size, redness, and inflammation. I honesty used them just to see if they worked. I had never tried acne patches before. I really liked and enjoyed the ease of use. They are not messy and clean up is as easy as peeling them off. I would recommend this acne patch for anyone wanting to combat small acne. I think they are definitely worth $6. COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch

Great... but not for oily skin
Great... but not for oily skin
{empty}{repurchased} HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Variety Pack I’m essentially writing this review on behalf of people in my life whose skin agrees with these patches, and I’m not one of them. They have emptied many of these (especially my mans) and I’ll def be repurchasing more in 2020 No matter how hard I’ve tried to use them, I never get any results. But when my partner uses one, his entire unripe pimple will somehow be magically transferred to this tiny patch, and the patch will have a white spot where I’m assuming the “juice” (🤢) was absorbed. This is absolute WIZARDRY, which is why I recommend these patches to people with normal/dry skin without hesitation. But my skin is combination/sensitive, and most of my pimples are on my oilier zones. And no matter how I use these patches, they never do anything for me. I am GUESSING this is because my oily skin creates an oil sheath around the pimple, not letting the patch absorb anything. But I literally have no idea what I’m talking about 😂 These are not cheap, and I have seen WAY cheaper alternatives on Amazon (another reason for 4 out of 5 stars). Also!!!!!! There are often ways to try these patches for free through Hero Cosmetics (like if you have a college email address, or they are launching a new product). So look out for those!

I am not very acne prone but I do get the occasional break out and drying lotion has been my go to in the past. I couldn’t find my bottle of it and I had been gifted this Versed Nix It product so I put it to the test. The solution is an oil type blend that you dab on to the spot and overnight, my painful eruption had considerably calmed down. Since then, I’ve used it at first sight of any breakouts and it prevents them from getting aggressive. Unlike drying lotion, my skin didn’t feel “dried out”. Truly something magical in a tube.

Amazing Acne Solution, Aside the Packaging
Amazing Acne Solution, Aside the Packaging
VERSED - NIX IT Complexion Solution Versed came out with this interesting product for your pimples. I used to be the type that would straight up use Tea Tree and a qtip on my pimples. But THAT WAS SO WRONG OF ME OKAY. My skin would get so dry around the area because TEA TREE OIL IS STRONG. It’s great for killing pimples but to put 100% pure tea tree on my face like what was I thinking?! * * * This is an invisible and non-drying formula. It’s used to tackle early-stage and deep underground trouble spots. It’s easy to use, but I find it hard to tell when the product comes out of the packaging so I end up with a freaking ball of oil on my face.. lol. You lightly dab a tiny dot and allow your skin to absorb it. I like to take my face fan and really get the absorption in quicker, you should use it after your serum but before your moisturizer. * * * For $12.99 and the convenience of it being at Target, I’d say get this bad boy! An oil alone is about the same price, and this applicator seems to have a lot since you only need a dot. This formula doesn’t only have Tea Tree Oil, but it has Salicylic Acid, Lavender Oil, Lemon Oil, and Rosemary Oil. * * * I’ve definitely seen results where I have had the deep underground pimples and I applied it and GUESS WHAT?! No white head came. Within a week it was gone. It’s a great product and formula, but due to the packaging I am giving it 3 stars!
