Things I actually repurchased this month!
So I love to do product reviews and empties updates, but this time I wanted to actually show what I repurchased this month. I find that consistency has been really good, for my skin especially, lately and sometimes choosing products that you know will work feels like a more worthy purchase as times. So I’m just going to share each of the products and why I love them! None of these products will be a surprise to you all.. cuz I feel like I talk about them all the time but oh well 😬 Benzagel - Acne Wash Benzagel. Take my money. I love this face wash so so much. I owe my clear (well mostly clear) skin to this product. I can’t go a day without it. It’s gentle, but effective at keeping acne away and it’s so affordable. I restock this product pretty regularly at the drugstore. It might be my #1 most repurchased product. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water It’s my favourite (and I think the best) micellar water. I go through multiple bottles every year. It’s non-irritating, leaves no residue and helps get off any type of mascara. This is a fan favourite for a reason. Plus if you buy the two packs it’s a pretty good price. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Jelly This has been a go-to moisturizer for me ever since the weather for a little bit colder. It’s lightweight, but pretty moisturizing. It has the cutest pump at the top that you press to get the product out. The only downside to this is you don’t get a ton of product for the price point. Mitchum - Advanced Control Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, Pure Fresh Okay, I know it might seem weird to review a deodorant but... I don’t care. It’s effective and lasts all day long. This is really the only deodorant that I use now! The scent is light and fresh but fairly subtle so you’re not overwhelmed by the smell. It does leave white marks if you’re not careful, just a warning. essie - Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish This one is a cheat... because I repurchased this but in a new colour! I have been loving the pink shade I have and use it almost every single week. I just love how easy and quick it is. It seriously takes me like 10-15 mins to paint and dry my nails. So now that it’s fall I had to buy this cute dark red colour too. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron + Volumising Lip Treatment This has become a big go-to lip balm for me. It’s perfect to throw in your purse or pocket. I find it very moisturizing and has saved my chapped lips. It’s perfect for everyday use and I think it’s definitely worth the price. The only con is I love when products are a little more buttery and this feels a little thicker and even a little sticky. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask This mask is so buttery, moisturizing and it just feels luxurious. This little tub lasts forever, I think it’s definitely worth the price point. I use it every night and I wake up with smooth lips. 💋
Lightweight & invisible SPF from the drugstore
Yes, it’s not summer anymore. BUT I’m not giving up sunscreen for the cooler months and neither should you! I love using sunscreen every single day. And I’m always on the hunt for a new one thats super lightweight but effective. This Vichy one super lightweight and great to reapply throughout the day because it just glides over makeup but... it might not be my favourite SPF. VICHY - Idéal Soleil Ultra-Light Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 The good: + Glowy, but not too greasy. It does look very dewy at the beginning, but it does settle into a slightly less dewy finish. Still dewy though so if you have oily skin, just be aware of that: + This texture is like a very light liquid, not like a lotion. And because of this texture it is so easy to slide over the skin. + Although the colour is white at first, it does turn invisible on the skin pretty quickly. I don’t experience any white cast. + Sinks into the skin super easily and doesn’t pill or affect your makeup application. + This is great to reapply over your makeup throughout the day because it just glides over whatever is on your face and since it’s invisible, it doesn’t affect the colours of the makeup that you have on. + A super accessible product that you can pick up at almost any drugstore. It’s around $25 depending on where you purchase it which isn’t too cheap but feels like a fair price. + Provides broad spectrum protection against UVA (which lead to aging) and UVB (which lead to burns) rays. + I love how thin and sleek the packaging is. It would be great to throw in a bag or purse when travelling or for a day trip. + It’s fragrance free and oil free for my sensitive or acne prone friends. The not so good: - I do have a TINY bit of skin irritation from this product. Just a tiny bit of stinging. It’s not enough for me to stop using the product but still.. probably not the best thing. - If you have oily skin, you may want to go for a more matte product just to be safe. And if you apply over your makeup you may want to use some powder to mattify the look. Worth it? I do think it’s worth the price for $25! It’s a good amount of product and the product is effective and very pleasant to use (aside from the stinging). Will I repurchase? I honestly think I won’t and may opt for the LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Ultra Fluid Face Lotion SPF 50+instead once I run out. Just because of the skin irritation that I get. Which is sad because I think overall it’s a great product :( Ps I have combo, acne prone skin 💕

New go-to lip colours for fall (or any season)
Right now, I’m fully obsessed with these two lip glosses and the MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid. They are all so affordable, but beautiful, comfortable and make the lips look juicy & dewy. And I feel like so many people look good with a bold or nude matte lip in the fall buttttt yeah my lips can’t handle matte looks. I need lots of moisture for these dry lips, so I’ve decided to just embrace it and go full gloss mode for this fall. I’ve been wearing both of these over the last couple of weeks and especially the pinky nude shade ‘Super Natural’ I think are going to become staples in my collection. These two glosses are a little different.. the red one on the left is called ‘Desert Spice’ and it is part of the ‘Super Lustrous Lipgloss’ collection. While the other is part of the ‘Super Lustrous The Gloss’ collection... which is confusing since the names are almost the same! Putting that aside, I think both of these of beautiful but I’ll start with my favourite below: Super Natural - REVLON - Super Lustrous the Gloss + Super comfortable and moisturizing formula. + The formula is super glossy and dewy, but not too shiny. It feels so pretty but still natural. + Fills in / smooths over the lines of your lips to provide a super glassy look. + A nice big applicator (kind of like the Fenty gloss wand) so it’s super easy to do two swipes and cover both your lips. I don’t know why but I just love glosses with fatter wands now. + The colour is truly my perfect nude. It’s not to pink or peachy or dark, it just looks like my own lips but a little bit better. And it actually does have some good pigment so I don’t really feel the need to wear a lipstick underneath or use a lip pencil to provide some colour. + Super approachable price point at $7-10 depending where you shop. Although it’s so approachable you might leave with more than one lipgloss like I did... - It’s a lipgloss so I have to say... it doesn’t last as long as a lipstick. So be ready to reapply throughout the day. Desert Spice - REVLON - Super Lustrous Lipgloss + Comfortable, moisturizing and glossy formula. + This gloss provides a good punch of colour. It looks a bit dark or burnt red in the tube but the colour ends up being this super lovely red. It seems a bit unapproachable at first but it’s seriously so pretty. I just feel so confident when I put this lipgloss on. + Again, super affordable. - This one was a smaller wand. I don’t mind but I like the bigger wand / applicator so much more. - Again, you’ll need to reapply. If you’re used to a very long lasting red lip, you might like a different product more. - I do find this one shows the lips of your lips a tiny bit more than the other gloss. I adore both of these and I’ve been wearing both non-stop since I got them. I’ve also seen the Super Lustrous The Gloss in ‘Fatal Apple’... Which I think I need in my life. So will likely repurchase soon 💋
MAYBELLINE-Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid
The key to plump, smooth & even skin is...🐌?!
Yes. Yes, apparently snails are the key. This bad boy is such a cult favourite. I had been dying to try it out and see what all the hype was about. I got this product just over three months ago and I’ve been monitoring the effects carefully so that I can give a super honest review. And I have to say, I have absolutely no complaints about this product and I do feel like it does everything that it promises on their website. The good: + My skin afterwards just feels... better? It’s smoother, plumper and feels more hydrated than before. + If my skin is ever feeling irritated, I’ll reach for this product. My skin looks soothed they next morning and if I apply it in the morning it helps reduce redness throughout the day. + I gotta say, this does help with acne scar healing. And if I have a pimple that is inflamed, I’ll add a big drop of this on top and it calms down by morning. + A little goes a long way with the product, it spreads very easily. You really only need one pump and while someone with dry skin may benefit from using this twice a day, I find that I only need it in the evenings as I tend to go for lighter products during the daytime. So that combined with the fact you get quite a big bottle means this is going to last me a while! + Key ingredients include: snail mucin (studies show that this COULD provide skin with several benefits including healing and anti-aging, but at the very least it is a good humectant) and sodium hyaluronate (another great humectant). + Love the little pump on the bottle. + I believe it’s fragrance free for all you sensitive skin friends out there. The not so good: - I’ve read a couple places that said that this product had anti-aging properties. Honestly I didn’t really see any difference. But that’s okay, I wasn’t really expecting it to make any big difference. - This honestly feels more like a serum versus the other essences that I have seen. I don’t mind it, but think I should point it out! Worth it? Yes, for sure. Good amount of product and a great price point ($21-27). If you need some extra moisture and want plump / dewy skin and want a little extra help with fading some acne scars, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Will I repurchase? I do want to! But I have my eyes on another essence as well...honestly I’ll probably just buy both. Apologies to my bank account 💸 Fun fact: People in Ancient Rome actually used snails in order to try and heal a whole bunch of things, including skin diseases because they believed it had healing properties. Ps I have combo, acne prone skin 💕🐌

These two saved my dry & peeling skin this week!
Sigh. Combo skin. One day, super oily. Next day, dry patches galore! So earlier this week I had a bit of a thing happening on my chin. My skin was continually flakey and peeling around there for almost a week and despite applying hyaluronic acid serum and reapplying moisturizer throughout the day, nothing seemed to get rid of the peeling for good. So in a moment of slight desperation, I pulled these two items out from the back of my skincare cupboard. The first couple of nights I tried out the serum with my current moisturizer and it kind of helped, but then I used the serum in combination with the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly and voila I woke up with dewy, soft and healed skin! 🙌🏼 indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Jelly Super lightweight moisturizer, but with a high weight hyaluronic acid and glycerin which act as humectants that hydrate the skin. It absorbs nicely into the skin, isn’t greasy but really locks in the moisture. This was great throughout the summer, but I was afraid that in the cooler months I might need something to add a little more hydration. Which is why I originally picked up the... indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Serum This is also a very lightweight product and it also includes hyaluronic acid which helps hydrate the skin. On top of that, there is some red algae extracts within the serum that helps provide even more hydration. It’s a fairly simple ingredient list and doesn’t have anything that makes me feel like it could be irritating to the skin. It’s simple and certainly isn’t going to completely change your skin but it’s effective and leaves me with hydrated, plump and dewy skin. Both of these products are affordable and accessible (got mine at Shoppers Drug Mart), as well as cruelty free, fragrance free and vegan. Together they almost immediately (overnight) took care of my irritated, dry patch and turned it into soft and dewy skin. I’m very thankful for these two products right now and I can see them being very useful in the winter time. Note: my skin is typically a bit more oily and very acne prone so I typically opt for light weight, gel based, moisturizers. So if you have dry skin, you may want to choose a more heavy duty moisturizer. But I think the serum could be good for any skin type. 💕

Gentle, effective & affordable exfoliator 🍍
I was super excited to try this product out and so far it has definitely met my expectations. If you’re looking for an affordable way to exfoliate your face, make it look a little brighter and reduce your skin texture, this could be a great option for you. If this is used in the correct way (aka not every single day and used in the right order) if can be a really beneficial product. The good: + This is like a two-in-one exfoliation system with both physical and chemical exfoliation. + It feels very gentle and you have complete control over how much physical exfoliation that you get depending on how much water you add to the mixture. + The powder itself is very fine which helps keep the exfoliation very gentle. + Your skin afterwards feels clean and smooth but not tight or raw at all. I haven’t experienced any irritation with this product whatsoever. + Not only does it make your skin feel smooth, but it also looks smooth! My texture is definitely reduced. + The price is so good! It’s just under $20 and you get a good amount of product. I’ve used it for over two months now and it looks like I barely made a dent in it. + Key ingredients include (from most to least): rich starch (physical exfoliant), sodium cocoyl isethionate (creamy cleansing agent), diglycerin (humectant that moisturizes), pineapple extract (exfoliates, soothes, moisturizes), allantonin (soothes & protects), vitamin c (antioxidant that brightens skin). + No fragrance or essential oils added, for those with sensitive skin. + Unlike my peels, this is gentle enough to use up to 3-4 times per week. I’ve just been using it twice a week so I don’t over exfoliate. The not so good: - I feel like there is an opportunity for user error here since it’s up to you, to create the paste and how you use it. For instance, if you make the paste too grainy and then rub it roughly onto the skin, this may cause some harm versus actually being beneficial. So I just think you need to be really careful. - While I think this is a great option for someone with more sensitive skin or someone who is new to exfoliation, I personally find that a more heavy duty chemical exfoliator gives me more of a glow! Worth it? For around $16-20, I think it’s totally worth it. It has good ingredients and you actually get quite a bit of product. And since this is in a powder form, the active ingredient (vitamin c) will likely last much longer. I would typically not be able to use up a vitamin c product if I wasn’t using it everyday so that’s great. Would I repurchase? I’m actually not sure. I do think it’s a great product! I just think that once I’m done this bottle (which I think will take a long time) I might move onto something a little more foolproof and heavy duty like a serum / toner / peel for my exfoliation. It does feel satisfying to have a little bit of a physical exfoliation and my skin does look pretty smooth afterwards so we shall see... but so far I love it! Ps I have combo, acne prone skin :)

‘Clean’ & affordable skincare 🌿
Let me preface this by saying that I think the term “clean” used in beauty is woolly, at best. The attempt to divide beauty products into good and bad, clean and dirty, toxic and non-toxic makes me feel iffy. You’ll notice I use the term in quotation, and this is the reason why 😌 It’s hard to find ‘clean’, sustainable, eco-friendly brands that are accesible, affordable AND effective. This is why I’m so appreciative of Cocokind! With both sustainability and accessibility at its core, while consistently creating quality products, Cocokind is one of my top brands at the moment. Their products offer ‘clean’, simple yet effective formulas that won’t break the bank. As you can see I’ve gathered quite the collection here, some of my favorite products are: 🌿cocokind - Resurfacing Sleep Mask with bakuchiol as a gentle retinol alternative, is perfect to help skin regain its youthful glow. 🌿cocokind - Pore Refining Concentrate this is amazing, one of my biggest skin issues is uneven texture and this is amazing. Super lightweight in texture, it absorbs quickly and reduces the appearance of pores. 🌿cocokind - Texture smoothing cream lovely creamy texture that isn’t too thick of heavy feeling. Perfect day cream, applies beautifully under makeup. 🌿cocokind - Mymatcha all-over moisture stick súper moisturizing! I’ve been using this as lip balm and it’s amazing. Plus it smells like pan dulce 😌 Their packaging, either made of glass or sugarcane tubes is recyclable. They’re also super community driven which is a plus for me because they care about the people and not just the $$. #CheriePartner

Silky moisturizer for glowy skin
This is the iconic primera - Alpine Berry Water Cream . I’ve been wanting to try this ever since I saw Liah Yoo raving about it in one of her YouTube videos. This contains an abundance of skin nourishing ingredients in the formula such as glycerin, squalane, urea, cocoa seed butter, mugwort leaf water, blackberry fruit extract, vitamin e, and strawberry leaf extract. Because it was labeled as a water cream, I assumed it would have a transformative texture similar to that of the tatcha water cream where it turns into a watery consistency as you apply it onto the skin. Instead, this has a silky smooth cream texture that feels rather rich and emollient. It absorbs fairly quick leaving you with a moist skin finish that looks beautifully dewy and glowy without any stickiness. I have oily skin so I found this to be a bit to heavy for daytime use on my skin which is why I opted to use it mainly as a nighttime moisturizer. It works fantastically as the last step in my evening routine to seal everything in while still offering a ton of hydration and moisture. You can expect soft and supple skin the next morning when you wake up. It also soothed my skin by reducing any redness it had. This does contain added fragrance which gives it a floral like scent. I’m not to keen on the fragrance but it wasn’t to strong to where I couldn’t tolerate it. This is targeted towards drier skin types but I think almost anyone can utilize this moisturizer. Overall, this was a winner for me. I had such a positive experience, and it didn’t irritate or break me out. It’s a bit pricy at 40$ for 1.6oz but I can definitely see myself repurchasing this in the future. After trying their moisturizer, I’m looking forward to trying more of Primera’s products especially their miracle essence.

Dark spot treatment!!
One of the creams which I have been using non stop for lil over two weeks is this sleeping cream from renskincare which they gifted me months ago but never had a chance to test out until recently. renskincare is one of my favorite brands and their products are simple and work so effectively on my skin. I used this sleeping cream am and pm but only spot applied on my dark spots and acne scars to really see if there is a difference and let me tell you I did a certain change in my spots. They went from dark tan to light medium tan which is a huge thing for me. Some of the main Ingredients are encapsulated algae complex which helps pigmentation visibly lighter and phytoGlycogen which helps skin recharge and give a glowing complexion. I'm really impressed with this sleeping cream. Although it's an overnight cream I use during day to on spot areas. Which is your favorite REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream renskincare product?

Time is seriously running out if not for SIORIS☀
Hi y’all so it’s been a long minute since my last post, mainly because second year of medical school has been crazy. I constantly feel like time is running out of time and I found it so ironically fitting to write this quick post about my favorite summer mist (toner/facial oil combo): sioris - Time Is Running Out Mist There is nothing like the magic hour glow I get from using this mist! You all know I love an afternoon skincare reset and this toner-oil combo is seriously my 2-second facial prep before reapplying my sunscreen! When I’m seriously in a pinch with time, this is the first thing I’m reaching for. The packaging and aesthetic alone will calm me down. Not to mention how hot it’s been out here, SIORIS saves my parched face! So glad to have upgraded from those water squirting fans from Walmart to this lovely bougie-looking (but totally affordable- $18) mist. Ingredients include soothing goodies like allantoin, beta glucan, macadamia seed oil and licorice root extract. I will say that there ARE perfuming ingredients although I don’t notice the smell too much. It’s not overwhelming at all but if you’re looking for a scent free product, this one is not for you. This is honestly a feel-good product! I can’t say it replaces any of the toners I’ve been raving about for ages, but it is so perfect for a two step summer skincare routine- (1) mist and (2) spf. 🥂 cheers and stay cool everyone!

My Current Favorite Serums
▶️ BE PLAIN - Cicaful Ampoule - a concentrated soothing serum containing 84% centella asiatica extract. I really like how quickly this soothes any skin irritations I have. It also adequately hydrates the skin as well without being sticky. Also it’s fragrance free. ▶️ NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum - a brightening treatment serum formulated with a vitamin c complex that’s made up of stabilized and encapsulated l-ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, and bioactive fruit blend. I just started using and I love the lightweight gel texture. I’ll have to continue using to see any results though. ▶️ TIA'M - Vita B3 Source - currently my most favorite niacinamide based serum. It contains 10% niacinamide and 2% arbutin to correct pigmentation, regulate sebum production, and hydrate the skin. This isn’t a fast acting product but I see a noticeable difference in my skin tone over time. It helps to fade my dark spots very effectively. ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Ferment Micro Serum - a gel cream like serum containing 61% fermented ingredients to help with skin elasticity and provide antioxidant benefits. I love how this makes my skin so soft and smooth. It also brings a subtle glow to my skin as well thanks to the rice ferment filtrate in the formula. ▶️ dear, klairs - Fundamental Watery Oil Drop - my go to hydrating serum so far this summer. It gives me the benefits of using a facial oil without the heaviness. It’s water based and contains green tea, ceramides, peptides, rice, kelp, and sodium hyaluronate to hydrate and nourish the skin. This leaves you looking glowy af! #CherieCreator

NEW! Belif launch - a cleansing balm!
sharing some new-ness with y’all today, the newest launch from belifusa, the Aqua Bomb Cleansing Balm (say that five times faster). belif - Aqua Bomb Cleansing Balm Claims: + hydrating cleanser + removes makeup + good for pores, dry skin Key Ingredients: + lotus flower: removes dirt for radiant skin + marshmallow root: moisturizes skin and protects barrier + lady’s mantle: an antioxidant that minimizes pores Price: + $34 for 3.3oz/100ml My thoughts: + removes all my makeup, but struggles to remove my waterproof eyeliner (no worries tho, literally 0 cleansers can remove it easily, thanks @nyxcosmetics for a bomb eyeliner) + I don’t have to tug at my skin to cleanse; its gentle and effective & emulsifies well. + I love the smell, very signature for their aqua bomb line + has a ton of fruit extracts in the ingredients, so if you are sensitive to those, be sure to patch test first. + came with a cute spatula so you don’t contaminate the jar every time you cleanse your skin + good for a little facial massage!! + doesn’t irritate my eyes or cause them to go blurry, I can’t tell you how many balms I’ve used that do this. + the price seems to be competitive for cleansing balms, but about on par with their other products. + doesn’t have the signature jar lid that most Belif products have, so its much easier to get product out!
