I have a very special skin type. It likes to be oily in summer, but in dry autumn and winter, the cheeks on both sides will be very easy to peel. At this time, I really need a product to reduce dryness and relieve the symptoms of discomfort, but at the same time, the product should not be too greasy. Crème de la Mer LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream
$500/100ML This product is the most well-known main product of the LA MER brand. This rich facial cream immerses skin in deep soothing moisture, which helps to cure dryness. Skin feels soft-to-the-touch, supple, and smooth. Lines and wrinkles become obviously soft. This product is extremely effective for skin, especially dry or damaged skin. Infused with cell-renewing Miracle Broth, this cream can make our skin soaked in moisture throughout the day without feeling dry and tight. Its use method is also quite special. Heat the cream between your fingers for a few seconds until it becomes translucent, then press it gently into your skin. NIVEA Crème NIVEA - NIVEA Crème
$6/382G This kind of cream is considered by many people as a substitute for LAMER. For only $6, you can have a large jar of cream that can never be used up. The price is really exciting! So, can such a cheap product really achieve the effect of LAMER? First of all, in terms of ingredients, the most effective product of this product is Provitamin B The rich cream formula deeply moisturizes, nourishes, and protects the skin from rough and dry feeling, making skin soft and smooth. But personally, this product is far worse than LAMER cream. In terms of ingredients, it is more suitable for hands and body use because of its thicker texture. Secondly, after putting on the face, its absorption speed is far less than that of Lamer's cream, which is very unfriendly to me who loves oil. Finally, the effect of this product is very insignificant, with only a basic moisturizing effect and no soothing protection at all. Therefore, it can be called the Dupe Alert of Lamer, but if you have enough budget, I suggest you buy the previous product.

Evening Routine Necessities 🌙 & a La Mer Dupe!?
SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum — This is truly the fountain of youth! Compared to other products containing retinol, that I’ve tired, this is superior! (I do in part think the 6.5% retinoid is in part to blame.) I use this a couple times a week and it is the only thing that really reduces wrinkles/fine lines. I don’t use this product in conjunction with many others because it’s very strong—I’ll use a gentle cleanser with my Foreo Luna Play Plus, tone, apply eye cream, apply the retinoid, and then moisturize. $85 is a bit too pricey for me to purchase out front, so I waited for a sale and found it for $60 at Urban Outfitters during a 30% off beauty sale. NIVEA - NIVEA Crème — I purchased this online through Amazon for $11 after hearing on some blogs that it was a dupe for the elite LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream(which retails for $190 for 1oz). While Nivea is sold stateside, usually in a plastic tub in their signature royal blue, I specifically ordered this one from Amazon due to the fact it’s the German version, which has a different formula than the US version and is therefore more similar to La Mer’s The Moisturizing Cream. While I haven’t tried La Mer’s moisturizer, I am really impressed with the German version of the Nivea Creme so far! I apply this in the evening by taking a small amount of product and rubbing it between my hands until it’s no longer white/thick, I then press it into my skin and move my hands in an up and out matter to blend it in. This creme is definitely fragranced, so it might not be the best for sensitive skin. After a few nights of use, the dry/flakey skin on the top of my forehead and nose have totally disappeared and swapped for smooth glowing skin! While I don’t think this is a necessity for the summer months, it’s been great to counteract the effects of fall winds and dry weather. If you’re going to buy this as a La Mer dupe, buy the German version on Amazon or through another retailer! SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Gua Sha — This is my first Gua Sha and I love it so far! Prior to purchasing this, I was using a jade roller from Ulta that I wasn’t blown away by—the roller always squeaked and felt rickety. The Gua Sha is incredibly easy to hold, clean, and use compared to the roller I tried. This is typically the last step in my routine, after a moisturizer, and I find it helps my products sink into my skin. To use, I follow a short YouTube video to use the Gua Sha to remove fluid from and lift my face. For $12, you can’t go wrong! Lano - Everywhere Multi-Cream — Instead of a super thick hand cream, I’ve been using this on my cuticles and tops of my hands to help my hands with the consistent hand sanitizer, washing, and dry fall weather. My hands and cuticles feel much softer and look healthier! This cream is unscented and can be used everywhere, a little goes a long way!

📚 𝓢𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓛𝓲𝓼𝓽 📚
💳🛍I recently went on a book ordering spree... (😝one of my favorite things, besides skincare splurges) 💻 Even though we can get seemingly endless information about skincare online, I was curious to seek out some books because I love the tactility & I really hate reading on a screen. Regarding ingredients, there is a plethora of opposing information online, & I’m sure these books will yield some of that too. It’s important to cross reference your searches, meaning checking multiple sources & comparing that information. It’s also important to consider what site is providing the information & whom might benefit from it. 📚Swipe to peek inside📖 PRETTY ICONIC A Personal Look at the Beauty Products That Changed the World By Sali Hughes 2016 💄$18-$21 (paperback version) I was most excited about this one, I’m a big fan of pop culture history & of course I love beauty products. I think this book would likely find a loving home on many of your coffee tables☕️ With over 400 pages of iconic & cult popular skincare & cosmetics products from over the decades, this is such a fun addition to any beauty fanatics collection! THE BEAUTY GEEK’S GUIDE TO SKINCARE 1,000 Essential Definitions of Common Product Ingredients By Deborah Burnes 2019 👩🏽‍🔬$15-$18 • 178 pages A really great resource for looking up both chemical & botanical ingredients. The vast majority of the book is just like a dictionary. It also includes some natural recipes & remedies, as well as source references for all ingredient info. MAKEUP IS NOT (JUST) MAGIC A Manga Guide to Cosmetics & Skin Care Written & illustrated by Ikumi Rotta 2019 🌸$14 • 135 pages This super cute manga was translated into English earlier this year. It takes the form of a guide to the basics of Japanese skincare & makeup application by following a loose narrative of a young woman who writes about beauty products on social media (sound familiar?😻) I read a lot of manga, I’m impressed by this high quality paper! THE KOREAN SKINCARE BIBLE The Ultimate Guide to K-Beauty Secrets By Lilian Yang, Leah Ganse & Sara Jiménez 2018 Makeup chapter by Esther Sandoval 💗$13 (hardbound) 🇪🇸This was actually originally published in Spain as: ‘El Arte Coreano del Cuidado de la Piel’ It’s a cute little 189 pages, straightforward & informative. THE LITTLE BOOK OF SKINCARE Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy, Glowing Skin By Charlotte Cho 2015 ☁️$26 (hardbound) 212 pages The creator of Korean beauty shopping site, ‘Soko Glam’ & skincare brand, ‘Then I Met You’ wrote this very cute & approachable book full of Korean skincare tips for beginners➕if you’re ever in Seoul, there’s a nice section on all the spas, salons & stores to hit up. K-BEAUTY : THE FACTS Korea’s Top Dermatologist Reveals the Insider Truth about Korean Skincare By Hae Shin Chung 2020 🇰🇷$13 • 175 pages This book aims to debunk &/or demystify many Korean skincare myths with science, graphs & knowledge from 1 of South Korea’s most renowned dermatologists.

Looking for La Mer Skin Dupes?
It’s not these. Sorry. I did the testing so you didn’t have to. To be fair, I didn’t mean to be the guinea pig, but here we are. NIVEA - NIVEA Crème Incredibly thick, needs a lot of emulsifying, pleasant smell. Horrible on the face. Does wonders for the dry skin on my hands, arms & legs. It says “does not clog pores” but, well...it does. Skip the face. WELEDA - Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream Very thick, definitely emulsify first, leaves an almost oily layer on the skin that takes a long time to sink in. Used it before bed as a night cream for almost 2 months. I broke out a lot. Overall I don’t hate this product, but again...skip the face. Use it on your dry winter hands.

Sensitive dry skin must have these two
Sensitive dry skin must have these two
sisley - Ecological Compound I think the only disadvantage about these two products is the high price… but anyway, you can only use them when your skin become unstable and uncomfortable, like during the season’s transmission or move to a new city and so on. They can really make your skin stable and healthy. 1. LAMER moisturizing cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Minus one star only for the price and packaging. I love to use it in winter cuz my skin always turns to dry in winter. After i run out of the old one, i bought a new one last month and found that it was different. Right away I noticed it was thinner. Those who use this know it is very thick and has to be warmed up in the fingers until it is translucent. It's not like that now. I compared the ingredients on the box to the ones online and they are the same, so either they added more water or they did something else in the manufacturing to ruin the consistency. I’ve been using this in conjunction with the La Mer Concentrate for about 3 weeks and I have noticed a significant improvement in the texture of my skin in that time. My skin looks smooth. I haven’t noticed any break outs from this despite mineral oil and it honestly sinks into my skin and keeps it dewy and moisturized without feeling like there’s a layer of moisturizer on top of your skin. It’s a strange feeling, as I was always used to have to apply globs of moisturizer to feel dewy. This is the opposite, a little goes a long way. Will repurchase. 2. SISLEY Ecological Compound ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a moisturizing and protective, milky white and lightwheight, non greasy cream, containing ginseng, rosemary and hops. The cream is easy to use, melts right in to your face, leaving it fresh and healthy looking and feeling really smooth, soft and hydrated. The only thing that did bother me a bit, was the scent. This moisturizer has a quite heavy perfume I personally associate with upperclass ladies: classy and rich elderly women. It's not a bad scent, but it's not quite youthful and playful or sensual and mysterious either. Although it's quite an expensive product, it's definitely worth every penny!

This moisturizer surprised me by how thick it is but how smoothly it applies and how light weight it feels. I received this sample from La Mer to try and enjoyed both products they sent to me. The price point is high end and luxury and unfortunately not feasible for most so I do make recommendations that are more affordable.

DUPE or NOPE? $335 🆚$14! 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻
DUPE or NOPE? $335 🆚$14! 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻
Combo-dry Skin, quite sensitive. My conclusion👀 Although La Mer is better, both face creams are worth the price. FAB cannot fully replace La Mer, but if you don't have enough budget. This is still a great dupe. It can maintiain stability while moisurize your skin.  LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream- $335 for 2 oz Effectiveness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing! My skin is pretty sensitive. I get redness on my cheeks pretty often. And I stay up late frequently because of my work. In the winter, my skin is soooo dry and I get pimples easily. After using this magical face cream for 3 days, my cheeks didn't get irritated when I am washing face. I didn't see any obvious redness. My skin became so smooth and soft. The pimples also got so much better. My skin no longer peels off during winter. I didn't feel the importance of this face cream when my skin condition is stable. However, when I need quick recovery, this is my go-to face cream! My Experience Using It:⭐️⭐️⭐️ It's not greasy. But you better emulsify it. The cream itself is very heavy, so don't use it directly.  FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration- $14.00 for 2 oz Effectiveness:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ At first, I was interested in the "ultra repair" part of this face cream. But I didn't really see any instant effects. I starting seeing changes after I used it for seven days. It has a surprisingly good effect for maintaing stability and hydration.  My Experience Using It: ⭐️⭐️ Pretty oily, but I am ok with it. However, it smells so bad! It also needs to be emulsified before using it. It is not as heavy as La Mer, but not light at all. If I don't spread it out evenly on face, I get pimples.

Same Effect, Only $24.95? Are You Serious?😲😲😲
Same Effect, Only $24.95? Are You Serious?😲😲😲
I have tried so many different fac ecreams to find the best ones for me. I have dry-combo skin. I really like La Mer, but honestly, it is very expensive. So I tried other face creams to see if there are any dupes for it. And luckily, I found one! LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream is my favorite facial cream. It's moisturizing and not oily, it's scent-free, and it makes your skin feel comfortable and hydrated when applied. It doesn't make your skin oily in the morning or dry up your skin at night. It also has a great restorative effect, so I'll definitely purchase it again. I bought this KOSMEA - Nourishing Treatment Cream when I finished my La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream. I was surprised that the texture, feeling, and effects are very similar to the La Mer soft cream. I have since being using it as a cheaper alternative of the La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream. Kosmea Nourishing Treatment Cream comes in a tube, it has a light-yellow creamy texture and a slight smell of plants. It is as soft as butter when applied and it feels really comfortable and hydrating on skin just like the La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream. It's also really moisturizing and good for combination-dry skin. The main ingredient is natural plant extract, so it's good for bumps and acne-prone skin. Helichrysum oil extract, marigold extract, and rosehip oil extract are all great for anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and skin restoration effects, especially for acne-prone skin. This product is obviously very suitable for me as I like to pick my bumps. It can also effectively reduce my skin redness. Do you agree that Kosmea is a dupe for La Mer? Have you found any dupes? 👀👀

LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream
LA MER-LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream
Two Moisturizers for the dry skin
Two Moisturizers for the dry skin
As I’ve gotten older, my skin has gone drier and with dryness leaves wrinkles and fine lines. I’m looking for some moisturizers that are not only going to hydrate my skin but also gonna give me those anti-aging benefits. So today I am going to share two moisturizers for dry skin which I have used for more than one year.   Product 1: Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Global Anti-Aging Power Soft Crème                                              Price: AU$85 / 30ml It’s called Revitalizing Supreme+, so it’s definitely more than your basic moisturizer. Its texture of this moisturizer is really light and so perfect for all skin types. If you are oily skin, you will not feel stick at all. The way I like to apply it is by just warming it up between the palms of my hands and applying it upwards in a circular motion, and same thing with the neck skin where you want to work upwards. I always use it in the night skincare routine, and when I wake up in the next morning, my face still feels radiant and moist. Moreover, it really helps with my wrinkles and fine lines after using it for more than one month. The only thing I don’t like is the price because it is a little bit expensive. I highly recommend it if you can afford it.   Product2: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream                   Price: AU$84/125ml This is a 24-hour facial cream of hydration, and that is paraben-free. Its texture is a little lightweight and a little sheer. And the smell is quite clean and there is no real offence to it. It’s just very kind of standard moisturizer smell. When you apply it, it doesn’t get sticky at all. My skin does feel beautiful, comfortable, and plump. It does definitely feel moist, and it’s absorbing in very quickly. After applying it on my face and put on my makeup for more than 7 hours a day. My skin feels moisturized and plump. When I touch my face, I just think my skin is really healthy and bouncy. It is still radiant. My cheeks are still a bit of glow there, which is really lovely. As a moisturizer, I think it is lasted very well and using it as a primer under my eyes where the concealer has not creased at all. It doesn’t feel dry and flaky at all. And this one is more affordable, if you are a student or you don’t want to spend too much money on a moisturizer, this product is high-cost performance.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Review coming soon.
I was sent a sample of La Mer’s Creme de la Mer in the mail. It is a baby sample so I’m going to do my research and focus on using it for two weeks outlining what they claim it will improve and what I notice. I’ll take photos for my skin before I start, during and when the product is finished. The claims: “Helps heal dryness with deep moisture.” Patented “Miracle Broth” heals the skin. The cost: $90 (0.5 oz) - $2,400 (16.5 oz) How to use according to the website: Activate the Miracle Broth™ by warming it for a few seconds between the fingers until translucent, then press gently into the skin.
