SKINCARE: NIGHT ROUTINE BASICS!
Finally part two of my skin care basics! A lot of the steps are the same but I do have different products in those places. Let's get into it.... 1) MAKEUP REMOVER: this step is essential after a long day, look at this like double cleansing so they scheduled the service layer off before your cleanser goes in to get a deeper clean. my product: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm 2) CLEANSER: cleansing helps to get rid of dead skin, pollutants, oils, dirt, and bacteria in general but many dermatologists & estheticians recommend that you should wash your face first thing in the morning so that you can prepare your skin for any other products that go on top of it. my product: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 3) EYE CREAM: the eye area is a super fragile, sensitive part of the face so your best bet is to apply your eye cream right away. to allow for maximum moisturization, apply first and pat around the area GENTLY! also in the AM, eye cream can help tighten and depuff the eyes. my product: BURT’S BEES - Sensitive Eye Cream 4) TONER/ESSENCE/MIST: this step can help to prime your skin to absorb active ingredients, do you research on whether you should be using a toner or an essence. shameless plug, one of my first posts is about the difference between toners and tonics, check that out for help. my products: pixi - Collagen Tonic pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist 5) SERUM(S): this stuff delivers the bulk of active ingredients to your freshly primed face! if you apply serums over thicker formulas (moisturizers, etc.) they may not penetrate as well. serums DIFFER from day to night. be sure to choose ingredients that are SAFE for the time of day you're using them. (i.e. retinol should be used AT night, vitamin c during the day) my product: PACIfICA - Dream Shot Beauty Sleep Booster Serum 6) RETINOL: as stated above right now is best used at night! i use a retinol alternative. check out my dedicated post on bakuchiol vs. retinol! my product: ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum 7) MOISTURIZER: think of this as a way to seal in everything you just did! look for hyaluronic acid & other ingredients that lock in moisture. my products: CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream CLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer 8) SPOT TREATMENT: only if necessary, you should be applying spot treatment on active breakouts both morning & night to accelerate the healing process. my product: JĀSON - JĀSON Tea Tree Oil 9) FACE OIL: i have a special post also on what face oils can do for oily skin! they help trap moisture in your skin & as a protective barrier. think of it like skin care topcoat. my product: ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil Thanks for reading! ❤️
Damaged Skin Barrier + Closed comedones breakout
I could NOT stop breaking out nothing was working for my skin To give you some background info I’ve only very recently had problems with my skin. I’ve never had issues with acne and it all started with oil cleansing. I didn’t know I had sensitive skin until I began oil cleansing. That was only the beginning of the out of control spiral my skin routine had. I tried finding a solution everywhere and tried a ton of different products. Including curology too and that’s when it got worse! In the midst of trying to find a solution I ended up damaging my skin barrier like crazy. I have never broken out like that. My skin consistently felt tight. I thought I had a hormonal issue or that my skin was acne prone. In reality my skin just did better with low maintenance I didn’t need to add crazy products or actives. I started incorporating Manuka honey a natrual ingredient that has a lot of skin benefits. healthline.com/health/manuka-honey-for-acne Before: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Gentle but wayy to drying for my face. I don’t recommend it to anyone who has dry skin. Or suffering from a damaged moisture barrier. Curology - Curology formula I was not a fan of this because it broke out my skin more but it honestly was probably due to the condition of my skin. Azelaic Acid 4% Clindamycin 1% Zinc Pyrithione 0.25% CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream This was a good cream except I felt like I was getting open comedones but again could have been due to my skin being at a poor state. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • After finding out I had a damaged moisture barrier (NOW) Pm: 🌙 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser THIS!!!! Ladies and Gentlemen. Oh. My. Gosh. This has been by far the best product I’ve used to wash my face. It doesn’t make me skin feel right and it washes right off. It doesn’t make my skin feel like I still have product and I love it. It has a lot of nice ingredients too and super gentle! #Kiva Health Food - Kiva Raw Manuka Honey[products]#[FiveStars] I leave this on all night and it has worked AMAZING! This helped balance my skins ph is getting rid of acne scars and fight the extremely stubborn acne! (What got rid of the issue) Am: 🌞 All I do is rinse my face and add moisturizer and my essence that’s it I don’t do anything else! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence This is a great essence to lock in moisture while fighting gently acne and lightning those pesky dark spots! CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 I didn’t love this before but it was because my face was SO DRY! But now it’s great and it’s oil free! Highly recommend if you want a moisturizer with SPF. This helped dark spots too (hyperpigmentation) so they wouldn’t get darker and lighten them up.

My New Shower Products by NÉCESSAIRE
Warning these products are expensive for a body wash and scrub but I justify it that all of my facial skincare products are pretty inexpensive. I have been using these products for about a month except this is my second bottle of the body wash just a different scent. Nécessaire - The Body Wash I wasn't a big fan of the eucalyptus scent but the sandalwood is everything!!! I love the scent, it lathers well and leaves my skin hydrated and soft. There is niacinamide in this body wash and I have noticed that my shoulder acne has improved and my skin tone does appear more even. Nécessaire - The Body Serum Why not put serum on my body. I put it on before I get out of the shower when my skin is still a little wet. I just pat dry with a towel when I get out. This serum has ceramides and hylauronic acid in it. It absorbs well, isn't sticky and leaves my skin soft. I'm trying to limit my fragerance products so I opted for the fragerance free option here esp since it's being absorbed into my skin. I add my body oil afterwards. Nécessaire - The Body Exfoliator I like the smell of eucalyptus but not with this scrub. I even put eucalyptus essential oils in my shower sometimes but this scub, and the eucalyptus body wash, has a weird medicine smell to it. As for the scrub it contains AHA/BHAs plus salcytic acid to help exfoliate. The scrub is very fine and almost gel like. I must admit I like the ruffer more oily TREE HUT - Shea Sugar Scrub Brazilian Nut better so I still switch some nights with this. But I continue to use this product because of the active ingredients. ***I read a tip to try this scrub before I get my body wet, I'll give an update when I try that*** Overall I like all of these products and see an improvement with my skin texture and hydration.
Serums Aren't Just for your Face!
If you thought serums were strictly for the face then you've been missing out! I added hydrating body serums to my body care line up and have been so into them! Both these serums feature hyaluronic acid, so to be sure I'm not actually pulling water out of my skin I always layer them underneath a heavier oil based body cream. The results are super smooth, hydrated skin. It's perfect for dry winter skin especially, but works really well all year long. Of the two serums my favorite is THE CHEMISTRY BRAND - Hyaluronic Concentrate because it does the same job as the Necessaire version, without the price tag! The Nécessaire - The Body Serum contains some extra ingredients like vitamin b and ceramides, so it's a bit creamier than the Hyaluronic Concentrate. Overall I think the outcome of both products is the same! #CherieCreator
Blast from the past
Ready to time travel? 🧳 🕰 . . My favorite anti-aging moisturizer is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. . . My skin type is all over the place, depending on what I eat, the weather, etc. If I had to choose, I would say that I have normal to dry skin, but a bit of oiliness around my nose. Over the years, I have learned that a compromised skin barrier can lead to dryness and itching—and aggravate skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. I do not have either of these conditions, but I do have friends that suffer from them. A moisturizing cream can help reinforce the skin barrier with hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, or a ceramide cream that replenishes essential skin barrier components. . . These are the claims that are made about this product: “CeraVe Moisturizing Cream acts as both a moisturizing cream and a ceramide cream by effectively hydrating as it helps restore the skin’s protective barrier. Developed with dermatologists and ideal for dry and very dry skin on the face and body, this rich, non-greasy, fast-absorbing moisturizing cream features patented MVE Delivery Technology to release a steady stream of hyaluronic acid and three essential ceramides throughout the day and night. Suitable for sensitive skin, this oil-free and fragrance-free ceramide cream also helps the skin hold on to moisture while improving its look and feel. The moisturizing cream is/includes: * Suitable for dry and very dry skin on the face and body * MVE Technology: This patented delivery system continually releases moisturizing ingredients for 24-hour hydration * Ceramides: Essential for healthy skin, ceramides help restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier * Hyaluronic acid: This ingredient attracts hydration to the skin’s surface and helps the skin retain moisture * Non-comedogenic, oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin * Developed with dermatologists” . . From my experience and testing of the product, I really like it. However, I did not like it at first. The texture of the moisturizing cream is VERY thick. It’s almost a lotion-like petroleum jelly. The lotion does absorb quickly, but the application is a bit uncomfortable. I have, on the other hand, grown to really, really, really like the results of the product. I have used this cream for many months and I can honestly say that it makes my skin feel hydrated, soft, and healthy. I definitely recommend that you check this product out. . . The moisturizing cream can be found in many stores like Target, Walmart, drug stores, etc. I purchased my 16 fl oz cream at Walmart for $12.68. If you check out CeraVe’s website, they have a $2 off coupon, as well. Overall, this product has my stamp of approval and a 5/5 star rating from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin

Have you Heard of Hemp Oil?
Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, isn’t a skincare ingredient that’s had much time in the spotlight compared to vitamin C or retinol. But now it’s this star ingredient’s turn to shine. Let’s break it down! Hemp oil is obtained from pressing the seeds of the cannabis plant. If it is unrefined it will have a dark green colour and a nutty smell. It will also have the most skincare benefits compared to refined hemp oil. Benefits ✔️ - Moisturizing - Anti-inflammatory components to relieve skin inflammation, though more research needs to be done - Full of antioxidants to protect your skin - May have antibacterial properties to treat a wide array of skin conditions I have very dry skin and need all the hydration I can get. I found these First Aid Beauty products about half a year ago, and they are a staple in my routine when I need a little extra help with redness and dryness. I love using these products in my routine more in the winter compared to the summer time. The fact that they had hemp oil in them intrigued me, and I wanted to see if it does what it says it will! The Ultra Repair Oat and Hemp Seed Dry Oil helps calm my dry and stressed skin without leaving it greasy, my skin absorbs it so nicely as it isn’t super thick. At this point everyone should know I love facial oils. 🥰 The Oat and Hemp Multi-Fix Salve is also an amazing product as it saves my very dry hands in the winter time. It goes on a little greasy at first, but it absorbs and moisturizes with just a bit of time. These products have mild scent, and minimal to no artificial fragrance. They also have so many other hydrating ingredients in them, including colloidal oatmeal! Have you tried hemp oil?

FAB ultra repair cream: claims vs my thoughts
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration I’ve seen this stuff everywhere, so I was excited to finally try it when I got it in a FAB gift set over the holidays. FAB describes this as a fast-absorbing, rich moisturizer that provides relief for skin that is dry, distressed, and/or suffering from eczema. It includes ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, and allantoin, all of which are super soothing. My thoughts: I love that this product is versatile and can be used on face or body. I personally don’t use it on my face because my skin doesn’t tend to be super dry, and when it is I already have products that I’m happy with to fix that dryness. BUT I love this stuff on my body, and since you can buy it in huge tubs, I think it’s worth the price (around $34 for 6oz). I use this on my hands and arms, and on spots on my legs, that tend to get very dry and itchy because I refuse to give up scalding hot showers even during the winter (not sorry). ✅This cream follows through on its claim to be fast absorbing. I never have to wait for it to sink in, and it never leaves me feeling greasy or oily. ✅ It also follows through on its claim to provide relief for dry, distressed skin (I don’t have eczema so I can’t speak to that experience). It immediately soothes any itching I’m experiencing, and makes me feel moisturized.
FIRST AID BEAUTY-Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
Best Face Creams
Having sensitive, dry skin has led me to try multiple face creams and figure out what works and what doesn’t work for my skin. First Aid Beauty, Ultra Repair Cream is life-changing, its very light, creamy and extra soothing on the skin. It calms my skin when it flares up due to the cold and wind and I honestly think it’s because of the collodial oatmeal as being one of its main ingredient. Do I think its worth the price? MOST DEFINITELY YES!!! I have one in my bag, bathroom and bedroom. It is multi-functional! I use it on my body and lips and hands!! Love love love it! FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream is also one of my favorite and its easily accessible at any drugstore. I would say its very comparable to the FAB Ultra Repair Cream but the texture of this is more gel-like and thicker but it also has alot of ceramides (helps repair your skin)! I use this on top of my FAB Ultra Repair Cream & it really helps my skin stay moisturized and glowy! Would I recommend? Yes! It can also be used on your body and really helps with eczema! I have been using this for 2-3 years!! CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
CeraVe-Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
the @cerave line is soooo good for all skin types. i’ve gone through so many bottles 😍🙌🏼 it’s the moisturizer i recommend for anyone wanting to start a simple yet effective skincare routine! the daily moisturizing lotion is my go-to all year round but especially in the summer since the texture is thin and dries down nicely. i reach for the thicker moisturizing cream in the winter (amazing for dry skin) and it’s great for healing eczema! it contains ceramides which helps your skin retain moisture and help protect it against irritants and pollution 👏🏼 also fragrance free so it’s super gentle on then skin! you can buy the daily moisturizer for $10 @target and it lasts foreverrrrrr! i don’t even use a full pump for my face ❤️
